Pet Health Insurance Can Be a Good Buy

Lee Rosenberg, CFP
ARS Financial Services, Inc.

Pet health insurance can be a good buy if your animal is predisposed to certain conditions and the insurer will cover those conditions. Example: Dachshunds often develop herniated discs. Insurance also should cover trauma, in case a pet breaks a leg or is hit by a car.

Treatment can cost thousands of dollars without insurance. Pet insurance usually costs about $1.50 a day. Read policies very carefully because many limit what they cover and restrict how much they will pay even for covered events. Providers include Purina, the ASPCA, Hartville Pet Insurance and others.

The company you choose should be licensed in your state so that you are not left with unpaid bills if the company folds.

Hi Mischa, one that stands out is Kate Winslet who said 'my legs are not that thin' I loved it. I'd heard of teh Dove thing but this viewing by my sweet offspring and I happened bc a pal showed us pics of her on the red carpet, my kid blurted 'wow that's you?!' oh, out of the mouths of babes : ) my friend and I both cracked up...thus the video, the part that blew me away was that the woman in the vid is attractive as is and then when they slimmed her neck, face and lifted her eyes I thought, whoa...! It reminded me - once I was asked to model for a make up artist and before I could tell the person who took me out of the line (I really wanted to see the show not be in it) that my eyes are hyper sensitive to light I was being yelled at by the 'master' himself bc my eyes kept watering...and watering, it was embarassing and I can only tell you that the end result was just astonishing, I looked like the tallest Asian woman on the continent, I have never been able to repeat that almond eyed look...ah well...the master hated me but then - I hated him more.

Lawrence, I totally get that. Most women who love themselves wear only enough to enhance what they've got. Looking good is great though when you love yourself it's an aside, I'm glad others think I'm pretty but it isn't a dealbreaker to me if they do or don't, very comfortable in my own skin...I can always tell women who are no matter how outwardly attractive (or not) others think they are.

I would suggest that women get more picky about how their males look, or at least how they take care of what they've got, health/body etc...and what is up with really attractive well dressed women out with males who wear a hat backwards and shorts and t's, huh? She's dolled up and you look like something the cat dragged in? Why?

I'll get into my 'swinging pendulum' theory another time, the short version, whenever anything changes (in this case, this woman's TED take on women and where things are headed) for a time, they usually swing the opposite way until an equilibrium is found, I liked that she mentioned her own sitch, has a hubby/father and the way many men are quite threatened and will need to find their equilibrium also (unless they just want to get offed : ).

I'm pretty upfront with males, we will either enhance each others lives or we will part ways fairly quickly bc I am perfectly fine on my own, I'm an excellent solo flier so, my only suggestion (not that you asked for one...!) is to ask for what you want in an effective way (could be very different for all the different types of men there are) that will get through. I believe we all have the right to want what we want whatever that want is, if you don't ask for it and make it your own priority to get it, oh no - no man will ever make it his priority to give it to you. The catch is, you must know what you want and that sometimes is easier said than done. I know what I want now but it is my perogative to change my mind and want something else at a later date. and though I could not ever see me being married again, I never say never about anything anymore, I know better.

Still raining...still loving it...!

Greek men are just as bad as any latino man. They scream and beat their women without too much fear from the law. My mother is a good catholic woman who has obeyed my father as if he were her father her entire marriage.

My husband is always complaining about something. He needs me to find anything he misplaces because he is helpless to himself. I have to dress him when we go out because he is tasteless when it comes to dressing himself, but for some reason he thinks he is an expert on how women should look in public.

Michelle, I'm a model and I can tell you the business can make a girl cry a lot. You get told by men that your tits are too small, too big, not firm enough, you face is too narrow, too wide, just not right(they don't know why, but it is just not right) something is wrong with it, too much cheek not enough cheek to work with. On and on and on.

I cry so much that I would quit if it wasn't for all the money they pay me. The rest of the time I am aware of time being my enemy. So I have to fine a rich husband while I am in demand. I am only 23.

Two months back someone passed your blog link around as something to help a girl to cope. I laugh at the jokes and comments. But I cry when I read some of your articles.

Tonight, I am having Champagne and toasting my new job. When the cover comes out I will send you a copy. Potete avete letto l'italiano?
