Michelle, thank you for clearing up the 2-way mirror issue. My father and I always had an argument about me dressing in different places where I shopped for bargains.

After reading Snoops, he was satisfied. But now I am more worried than ever. I mean the part about who needs a 2-way mirror anymore? Snoops says they have cameras so small that even if I were looking directly at it I would be able to tell it was a camera.

Technology has indeed removed any hope of privacy.

Q: I have seen advertisements for the new walking shoes with curved soles that claim to burn more calories, tone muscles and relieve back pain. Are they any good?

A: These shoes will help some people, but they are not for everyone.

Skechers Shape-Ups and Chung Shi shoes can provide a greater range of motion while walking, exercising muscles on both sides of the legs, burning more calories and toning muscles.

Some people say that the shoes have cured their back pain -- but others say that they have caused it.

If you are considering these shoes, which cost $100 to $250, plan to spend time getting used to them. Start out by wearing them for about five minutes of activity and build up gradually. Do not put them on and immediately do your normal walking routine.

Be especially cautious if you have biomechanical issues, such as a long-standing knee injury or scoliosis.

Buy only from a store with a liberal return policy in case you develop aches, pains or backaches, and only wear the shoes indoors until you are sure that you want to keep them.

Claudia:

Bita was not interested in me checking on the tender Marie. She had a fine body and face when the horny Dr. Curtius discovered her charms when she was 13. He was in love with her by the time she turned 15. No longer Uncle, but lover, they plotted to be together. He would claim she showed promise in sculpture and they could spend hours alone while he pretended to teach her the art of wax.

She was already quite familiar with his work because she was 5 when he first took her to his studio. She was quite the student. Very talented in bed and in the studio. They were deeply in love and although she had many lovers, she took no husband until he passed.

I was able to sit for a mold, but Bita would not leave me long enough for me to sample those voluptuous curves and discover the true talent within those hands.

Yes, she had a quick mind and understood the direction of the political winds. She became a confidant and lover of the Queen. They shared each other and each other's lovers.
The King was a homosexual and had Marie make several busts of his lovers and himself in drag. She made friends with and advised the future lover of Napoleon, Josephine, when they were cell mates.

She really preferred women so she took the first opportunity that came her way to leave her husband, Tussaud and be free. She was wise enough to know that she would have to leave France to rid herself of a male's dominance and control since he was her legal husband and guardian according to french law.

So she went to England to persue a career and never returned to him or France.

Police still have not solved the horrible murder at Road House, Trowbridge England. On June 29, 1860, Somebody took 4-year-old Francis Savile Kent from his cot, cut his throat, and dumped him in an outside lavatory.

Local police concluded it was an "inside job." Their competence must be doubted, however, as two of them contrived somehow to get locked in the kitchen for a couple of ours during which any villain might have destroyed evidence.

This is indeed what may have happened, as a half-burned bloodstained nightdress was found in the basement boiler. When the laundress reported missing one of the three nightdresses normally sent for washing by Francis Savile's 16-year-old half-sister, Constance Kent, suspicion fell on her.

Constance, a difficult child, was arrested and charged with murder. However as it seems impossible for her to have carried the heavy lad single-handed, the case was dismissed.

Two months later Elizabeth Gough, the nursemaid, was arrested. But she, too, satisfied the preliminary hearing of her innocence.

The case is utterly mysterious, and the police remain baffled.
--------------------

Yes this was a mystery Bita and I wanted to solve. So Bita and I went back to that night and here is what we saw.

16-year-old Constance climbed down from her perch in a loft and snuck into the child's room. He was sleeping. Constance woke him with a quick stab to his chest with a carving knife. It broke when it hit a bone. He was still breathing so she threw him over her back and took him to an out door privy. She left and returned to the house to retrieve her father's straight razor that she had hidden under the covers of the boys cot.

She returned to the privy put her hands over the mourning child's mouth and slit his throat. Then she through him head first into the toilet.

She waited a few minutes and headed to the basement boiler room. There she undressed(nice looking body for such a homely face)and threw the bloody nightdress on into the boiler.

Then she put on another nightdress she had stashed between the bricks and a pile of burlap bags and calmly went upstairs and went to bed. She slept quite peacefully.

The police arrived the next day and she must have remembered that she had broken the handle of the knife and had left the heft with her bloody finger prints on it in the boys room.

She noticed the police in the kitchen and through the outside bolt on the kitchen door to lock them in. While they were locked in the kitchen she set about cleaning the blood trail foot prints she had missed during the night, and removing the knife heft she had left behind. Afterwards she unlocked the kitchen and let the two officers out.
=================
We will revisit in a few years to see if she gets away with it.
