Michelle,I can take a hint...as you've heard this but perhaps never knew it was of you...

I'll give you all I can

Looking at life in through the mirror
once was a day a lonely man saw
one simple way to place him in happiness
one simple way to carry on
standing alone he picked up his courage
out on his own no footsteps to follow
into the world through all sort of weather
he donned on his coat to cover his humanness

searching for life behind loves open doors
some people find a red light to follow
hoping to find that one special reason
to carry on to wake to every day
she came to him an answer to his very need
a guiding light
she took him away out on to paradise
she gave him eternal peace

I'll give you all I can
Where will we be tomorrow

John, I respectfully say to you, that's just wrong. People, please don’t listen to him. We must do all we can. Don’t become complacent!
---------------
A man known to the world as The Minimalist -- Mark Bittman, the New York Times' food writer had some comments about the politics of food.
In a column called 'Why We're Fasting,' Bittman explains that he and over 4000 others are on hunger strike to boycott the GOP's devastating budget cuts to programs that assist the poor and hungry. Particularly, the protesters are targeting cuts to food stamps, WIC and aid to the international poor and farmers. 'These supposedly deficit-reducing cuts — they’d barely make a dent,' Bittman writes, 'will quite literally cause more people to starve to death, go to bed hungry or live more miserably than are doing so now. And: The bill would increase defense spending.'
The Minimalist has teamed with World Food Prize laureate David Beckmann, who presides over Bread for the World. He details the specifics of the fast, which he's doing until Friday -- senses are heightened, food smells pervade -- but he is at his most salient here:

"This is a moral issue; the budget is a moral document. We can take care of the deficit and rebuild our infrastructure and strengthen our safety net by reducing military spending and eliminating corporate subsidies and tax loopholes for the rich. Or we can sink further into debt and amoral individualism by demonizing and starving the poor. Which side are you on?"

---------------------
Former Rep. Tony Hall (D-Ohio), the head of the Alliance to End Hunger, told The Hill Friday that Democrats are not doing enough to ensure the cuts do not become law, and he will lead an open-ended fast to protest proposed cuts to domestic and international food programs contained in the House-passed six month spending bill to give a “voice to the voiceless.” He will be joined in his water-only fast by Rev. David Beckmann, the president of Bread for the World; Jim Wallis, the president of Sojourners; Ritu Sharma of Women Thrive and Ruth Messinger of American Jewish World Service. Beckmann said in an interview that so far 350 others have pledged to join the fast and the groups are seeking more support.
Hall told The Hill that conditions for the world’s poor are worse now, given worldwide food price inflation.
He pointed out in an interview that 50 million Americans (THAT’S 15 PERCENT OF THE US POPULATION) and 1 billion worldwide do not have enough to eat. He said worldwide 25,000 people die of hunger and hunger-related illnesses per day and not enough has been done to make the public aware of such facts.
------------------
This is a moral issue! In the left hand side of Michelle’s blog, under Madeline Speaks, she provides all the links to contact officials in your state. I beseech you to take the time to do so. Don’t think this does not affect you. That empty dinner plate could soon be yours. We MUST do what we can to convince our politicians to vote NO.
