Thanks in part to the support and encouragement of USAction/TrueMajority members, President Obama has drawn a line in the sand by promising to make millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share of taxes.1

It's a big step, and it comes at a critical moment: June 7 marks the tenth anniversary of the day President George W. Bush signed into law $1.35 trillion dollars of tax cuts for the richest people in America.2

But Republicans have promised to fight the President's promise tooth and nail. And last year, the President gave in at the last minute - agreeing to extend tax cuts for the wealthiest in exchange for a breakthrough on unemployment insurance, nuclear disarmament and more.

We can't let that happen again. With the anniversary of these disastrous tax cuts around the corner, we need the President to stay strong.

Guam - The Miss Guam Universe Organization is issuing a public apology for the mishap that occurred during Friday night's pageant. According to Spokesperson Pat Bamba, although the official tabulations from Ernst & Young were accurate, the announcement on stage and the sashes that were placed on the winners were inadvertently mixed-up.

"On the night of the pageant the sash and trophy team mistakenly placed the Miss Universe first runner-up sash on Katarina Martinez, and the announcers then announced Alexandria Sanchez as first runner-up to Miss Universe," Bamba explained. "But the sash team that went out was the Miss International sash team and the put the sash and crown on Ms. Sanchez. Now, that was our mistake. There's no excuses for it. That's basically what happened.:

Bamba added, "During the mad dash to get the presenters our there to put the sash and crown the ladies there was that mix up and for some reason the announcers the proclaimed Ms. Sanchez Miss International, seeing the sash on Alex. You know, the Miss Universe Guam Committee, we take full responsibility for what happened and we apologize to both Ms. Sanchez, Alexandria and Ms. Martinez, Katarina and their supporters and their families. It was a terrible mistake and we regret that it happened."

Instead of correcting it on stage, pageant organizers met with Martinez and Sanchez afterwards to notify them of the mistake.

As for the official results from Ernst & Young: winning the title of Miss Guam Universe 2011 is Shayna Jo Afaisen, Miss Guam Universe First Runner-Up is Alexandria Sanchez. Winning the title of Miss International Guam was Katarina Martinez, and Miss International Guam First Runner-Up being Meika Dunagan. Afaisen will head to brazil to compete in the Miss Universe Pageant, while Martinez will head to china to compete in the Miss International Pageant.
