The Supreme Court has become a political institution with a pro-corporate agenda

Until yesterday, it was voters and legislators who got to decide whether they wanted to live in a right-to-work state. With Knox v. SEIU, the Supreme Court began to assume that decision-making responsibility for the rest of us.

A Michigan legislator, Lisa Brown, gave a speech in the statehouse last week that would have made her right at home in a women's studies course at a local community college, but a wacko in a group of actual legislators.

Sponsored Content
She commented on a pending abortion bill by first announcing that she was Jewish, kept kosher, described her various sets of plates, and then saying that Jewish law makes abortion mandatory to save the life of the mother.

This had absolutely nothing to do with the bill being considered, but it may explain why there are no Jewish Tim Tebows.

Then she said: "I have not asked you to adopt and adhere to my religious beliefs. Why are you asking me to adopt yours?"

Her smashing crescendo was: "And finally Mr. Speaker, I'm flattered that you're all so interested in my vagina, but 'no' means 'no'!"

It's not clear where Rep. Brown got the idea that the Republican caucus was planning on date-raping her, but I think there's been a terrible misunderstanding.

A monkey portayal of a Black man is always racist since this has been the de facto description of Blacks for centuries.

For those who infer that criticisms of Obama are at a level similar to prior presidents, please note that even if the level was somehow able to be measured and found commensurate to the level of past Presidents, the birth,

Muslim and “non-patriotic” issues take it to another level exponentially. No past president has EVER been subject to these areas of attack.

This was a racial joke, as blacks have been depicted by white racists as monkeys since we were chained on boats coming from Africa. That has a negative effect on every black citizen in this country.
