Had to pop in quickly...

Irene, I would beg to differ, it has been stated here before and let me reiterate, Muslim women are at physical threat so thusly their indoctrination and release from it is very difficult, and therefore I feel for them very much.
On the other hand, stupid Western women are psychologically indoctrinated (or is it inculcated) by the Christian right, and we have the ability to release ourselves from it by educating ourselves and yet some (a lot) embrace it and help enforce it with other women and create an atmosphere that when a woman does not want to be a 'believer' her own gender peeps will try to get her to toe the religious line (ex. if she's not buying the sexual myth: marriage to one man as a virgin, and there's more where that came from as far as her feminine 'role' is concerned). There are not enough free thinking women here, even in LA, as far as I can see...too bad...

Kevin, thank you, that comment made me smile.

This and many other blogs have so many westerners making decrying the way the muslim religion brain washes its adherents into believing stupid shit to further their religious claims.

Well its the skillet calling the pot black. How about the religious Right claiming the Loch Ness Monster to be real so they can disprove Charles Darwin's theory of evolution?

Good Monday to you. A big day in the Supreme Court, but the biggest one seems to be on the horizon. On Thursday, reports are showing that the Court will rule on the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. For months now, conservatives have derided this law, from it's passage to it's contents, and on Thursday, we will find out whether or not the Court agrees with many conservatives, if not all, and strikes down the president's law.

In the meantime, here are the stories we are working on:

Supreme Court upholds key provision in SB1070 -- Hope was in at the Court today when the opinion was read: "In a split decision that was unanimous on its key provision, with Justice Anthony Kennedy delivering the majority opinion, the court upheld to a limited extent, a highly controversial statute that allowed Arizona police officers to check the immigration status of anyone stopped or detained for legal reasons, but struck down other portions of law aimed at discouraging illegal immigration. Justice Elena Kagan recused herself from the case, having defended the government position on the case in her previous role as U.S. solicitor general." Read more below.

House bill would open beach access, protect old growth trees -- From Audrey: "The act restores public and motorized access to 26 miles of North Carolina's Cape Hatteras National Seashore, which Human Events reported earlier this spring was closed off because a bird listed as an endangered species was nesting in the area.

"This is about jobs and taxpayer rights to access recreation areas that they own," said Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.). "It would reverse significant job losses and economic decline that Hatteras Island has experienced since the (National) Park Service cut off access to the most popular part of the seashore." He believes the state can and should do the job of overseeing its own beaches." Read more below.

Stolen Valor: Supreme Court set to decide military phonies case -- "At issue are the claims of California huckster Xavier Alvarez, who was elected to a local water board and lied to fellow board members about having received the Medal of Honor. That landed Alvarez afoul of the federal Stolen Valor Act, which penalizes those falsely claiming military combat medals with up to a year in prison--or did, until the famously liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in California overturned the law and Alvarez's conviction in 2010." Read more below.

That, and a lot more, including the other SCOTUS ruling, overturning N. Dakota's law that went against Citizens United.

Have a great Monday.
