I was elated when the President won in 08. I thought a new day had dawned and the country could get on the right track of recovering from the persistent hangover brought on by Reaganomics.

Alas, the Republicans controlled the House and peed on the parade. No sensible legislation could pass through the tightly woven net of their partisan delusion that government is evil: heck, by their very obstructionism, they nearly convinced us all that government was not only evil, but stupid and ineffectual as well. How many times have they cut off the noses of collective America to spite our face? How much good and positive legislation died in committees or on the floor due to their ignorant instransigence?

I am voting for Mr. Obama again because to vote against him is to vote for the welfare of the rich over the poor and the middle class; the pseudo moral concerns of a deluded minority over the health and welfare of women; and corrupt bottom lines of Big Business over the very real concerns of the majority of us who work and pay taxes just to scrape by in this country ruled by the rich.

This election is not about winning so much as it is a debate on who will run our lives: a stingy, grasping and morally deluded minority; or the great majority who value personal rights, empathy for others, and human rights over profit.

Vote Democractic.

Obama essentially made one mistake: assuming Republicans would act like ladies and gentlemen and do what Americans expected elected officials in Congress & Senate to do...COMPROMISE!

Instead, Obama encountered the most recalcitrant gauntlet of obstructionists ever seen in American politics. The GOP, funded by super-wealthy individuals, are interested in only one thing: maintaining the status quo where obscene profits remain virtually guaranteed.

Abortion and other wedge issues? Immaterial hogwash, other than their ephemeral value motivating people incapable of understanding the Big Picture...the one that everyone patriotically stands behind when a clear enemy reveals itself in the most obvious ways. (Example: OBL and his desperate, ragtag army of religious zealots.)

Those who wish to replace Obama are in it for one purpose: consolidate a stranglehold on what they quietly worked so hard to achieve when they had "W the Oblivious" in office, with Cheney persuasively pulling his strings.

Now that Obama has had nearly four years to learn the ropes one thing is certain...he won't make the same mistake again. He won't underestimate how rabid the GOP's infiltrators are and how much sway they have over moderates.

Once would-be plutocrats spend their billions attempting to extricate Obama from the WH, they'll have to go back to finding new ways to grow their wealth. Since they can't do it all by themselves, they'll actually have to hire people to help them.

Honest half-black guy stays; lying white guy goes, well, who cares.

I agree, "the massive tax cuts; the empowerment of corporations as political donors" happened because Republicans won.

And if they win more, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, etc will be lost as well.

And I'm already scared at the idea, that they think they can continue with their agenda - despite the public outcry against it.

Granted, the Republican/TP'ers have had a "public" change of heart.

But, they've been on this path for so long, to see them do an about-face is unbelievable. And I don’t believe it, at all. Not for one second.
