This is the statement that Romney felt needed to be condemned while the Embassy that issued it was in jeopardy of imminent attack.

Is it possible to object to some of the sentiments? Yes. Does such condemnation advance US interests or protect our US servants and allies that were and are in harm’s way? No.

Is there any conceivable reason why this statement had to be issued in the midst of a crisis unfolding?

Absolutely not. Romney is not fit for office.
