Humor is an odd thing. You have to be able to laugh at yourself. But the nature of “humor” often crosses the line. It’s a delicate interpretation of “where does it go too far?” in general. Obviously, bound women is in extremely bad taste if you can call it humor, and it’s misogynist. Not unlike the old timey American “cartoons” showing black people with nooses that were obviously [now understood to be] racist. How could that be humorous? So when does free speech cross over to hate speech? It’s unfortunate that human beings aren’t more sensitive. I think this kind of “humor” in these ads are my personal interpretation of “hate speech.”
