They’ll get over Obama by 2018. That won’t change much since they hate Hillary Clinton about as much as Obama, and either after she retires from office or if she doesn’t run, they’ll find reasons to hate any Democrat in the White Elephant House because, after all, Saint Ronald promised them permanent majorities.

Republicans were never interested in adapting their views to a changing electorate. They’ve tended toward Frank Luntz-style makeovers: changing the language they use to talk about things, rather than changing the things (policy positions) themselves.

They believe what they believe. No matter how careful they try to be, there will be slips of the tongue. Their extreme views will eventually show through to betray their efforts at “rebranding.”

If it looks like a duck, etc., you can call it a swan–but it’s still a duck. And anybody who’s paying even the slightest bit of attention can see what it is.

The Republicans use Obama approval ratings as their main barometer. These numbers are going down because of the gridlock and bogus scandals. Same thing happened when they held the countries credit rating hostage, Obamas numbers were hurt badly.

What a rational person sees as insanity, they see as a positive. Nobody will ever be able to control these folks until they get over hating on Obama as the end-all. They had so much success in 2010 doing this there is no way they feel the need to adjust.
