Shirley T clearly was a talented child actress but, for whatever reason, never made the successful transition to a good adult actress. Another Shirley however did, Anne Shirley. She started in films in 1922 & starred in RKOs "Murder, My Sweet" (1944), which was her final screen role.

There are a number of differences between them to note, eg Shirley T could sing & dance, she seems to have been happier doing the films she was in, & she had a family too. Anne however was "forced to go into the profession & denied a normal childhood by a too ambitious mother", Mimi. Though she did extremely well in material terms, other aspects of her life were not quite so good.

Shirley T had a successful life after films, as did Anne, but she took a different route. Shirley T found happiness with her 2nd husband but Anne may have lost the man she loved by the end of 1936. She married 3 times but walked out on the first 2, finding in her 3rd, Charles Lederer, a good man who provided very well for her, eg a property in Malibu, & a son, Daniel. (She had a daughter, Julie, by her first husband).

Anne's childhood, under the name of Dawn O'Day, was sometimes spent trying to live on $10 a week between herself & her mother. One last point: soon after Anne turned 17, in April 1936, the courts, at the request of Mimi, appointed an alternate mother for her!, something Shirley T never had to cope with.

Hello Al. Glad to see you back. It must have been a helluva ride for you to be so angry with the TAO. But if you are able to recommend someone and they are not opposed to females, I'm your girl.

I have a DDS degree. I have been practicing for 7 years. But I would love to vacate this orb for greener(or whatever) pastures.

TAO if you are listening, just say the word.
