[…] Irene: Yeah they wanted him to die. In my opinion, the cops most always want the black man they are shooting to die. They are not aiming to shoot a leg to incapacitate. The thugs want him dead so they can plant drug, guns, and make up stories. A dead man can’t talk and tell his side of the story.
I'm white and the discussions we have when there are no minorities around tell me that for the most part white people are not that upset about blacks being murdered by cops.

They justify their racism by saying if they would only obey the cops, or cite some statistic that says blacks are just more violent that whites.

I often hear the start of the N word or some other derogatory term in reference to the black race during the heated parts of the discussions.

I have come to accept the fact that we as a race think we are better simply because of the color of our skins. They don't know that my mother is half black. So they feel very comfortable using the N word and just being themselves.

That meaning racist while denying it in other mixed settings. I'm white but just not that proud of it.

On the one hand, it is a little i d 1 o t i c to blame Kaepernick for things he had nothing to do with. Kap wasn't the guy laying on his back in the middle of the street in Miami with his hands up. Kap also wasn't the police officer who shot the guy laying on his back in the middle of the street in Miami with his hands up. So in that sense, people criticizing Kap are definitely criticizing the wrong person. Kap's just reacting to it. Which is his right. No question.

On the other hand, you would like to see people do something more helpful to solve the problem. Taking a knee is your right. It's peaceful protest. It doesn't harm anyone. And it doesn't cause any damage to property.
