I'm the instigation of a shotgun wedding myself. It was astonishing to think how laid-back my grandmother got eventually; she was largely the person who forced my mother to marry her babydaddy.

And it was a truly disastrous marriage in every single direction except one (he never laid a hand on any of us that I remember); thankfully, she eventually put herself and her kids ahead of Catholic doctrines and threw him out on his ear.

In 1967, a friend of mine got pregnant at 17; her Catholic parents sent her to a Catholic home for unwed mothers and after she delivered her son, he was placed in a Catholic orphanage because her Catholic father would not allow her to bring her baby home.

And would only take her to visit him once a week. She got knocked up as soon as she could with the first man who'd marry her, and after their wedding, they went straight to the orphanage to adopt her son. Because a single mother was not allowed to adopt her own child.

Melvin#8, Literally, they think the solution to the "problem" of divorce is to make divorce less accessible to women. That'll fix EVERYTHING, just like making abortion less accessible to women has totally lowered--oh wait.

Actually criminalizing abortion in any way just results in misery and a subsequent loss of other human rights while doing absolutely nothing to impact abortion rates. Hmm.
