Hahaha...Ruth I thought you were quite respectful and I was wondering about exactly who Robert is just this am myself, look forward to hearing his answer(s) to you.

Evelyn, it's still true and it isn't just Repug men unfortunately. An unattractive female can be well regarded intellectually and people will listen, though throw in an attractive female with same intellect and there's a certain mesmerization of your audience, male and females alike, unfortunately SP does not have the intellect to hold up, that'll prove out in debates with Obama should she get a nomination, hopefully the GOP will stop themselves form this indulgence (one can only hope). Recently, one particularly ornery male I know has been picking debates with me and when I firebrand the issue, he smiles serenely, I finally caught on, he just is digging how I look when I get fired up, he claims he digs my wording/argument/etc...as well...whatev...

Mother, be nice. I like Robert. I noticed "in the interest of full disclosure" you didn't tell him your age.

Robert, I lie about my age all the time. But this once I shall tell the truth. I have turned 25.

To give you a sense of my mother's wit and intellectual leanings she quoted the scottish actress Deborah Kerr in the birthday card she sent me.

Here is the quote she chose:
"Personally I think that if a woman hasn't met the right man by the time she is 24, she may be lucky." DK 1921
--------------------------------------------
I may just have met the right man, I fall for him more everyday. Please mother do not look up an applicable quote.

Oh, go right ahead, but be warned, Harris is quite the well read poet.

Yet, not to be too diverted. Michelle I wrote in to comment on and in the spirit of your article today.

My post is a quote from Pauline Frederick another american actress born in 1883. She passed away in 1938, way before Palin. But she explained accurately why the republican party feels it needs an attractive woman to be their voice. She said:

"When a man gets up to speak, people listen, then look. When a woman gets up, people LOOK: then, if they like what they see, they listen."

I think that has changed for the most part. But it seems the Republican party still believes that is the case.

Robert:

I presently reside in France as the mother and father of 13 wonderful girls, but I am an American black woman. I miss my country and the intellectual intercourse of the American black intellect.

You have begun to spark my interest. I would like to discover if there is more to you than the observation of the world as the result of the white man's intervention.

As a step towards full disclosure I am employed by Anonz a very white male. In his defense I will say he has been an exemplarily employer and a godsend to my 13 wards from Darfur.

In our discourse, if you choose to accept, I expect to gain an insight into all the environmental influences that made you who you are. Thus I hope you will not be shy about quoting those who have had great influence upon you.

Show me the extent of your intellectual influences; i.e the books you have read, the songs, that have moved you, the poetry that says how you feel towards women and the world.

My first question to you is:
What works for you may not work for someone else.
So what makes you think your way is so much better?

Respectfully

Ruth

Michelle

I hope you and Madaline can do something about this.
=====================

Update on Reid-Angle Race

Dear Friend,

I don't know how to say it's urgent except to give you the poll data. The Real Clear Politics average of the polls in Nevada have the race at: Reid: 44.5% Angle: 44%!!! It can't get any closer than that.

Ever since we ran the rebuttal to the Social Security/Medicare negative – made possible by your donations to Americansfornewleadership.com – we have been tied with Reid, having fallen nine points behind after his attack. Now it is time to break out and seize a strong lead!

Let me put this in overall perspective.

Republicans now hold the lead in eight Senate seats now held by Democrats. But we need ten. We lead in: North Dakota, Indiana, Arkansas, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Illinois. We need to take the lead in Nevada to win a ninth seat.

Please log on and give again to Americans for New Leadership. Lets put Harry AWAY!

As for the tenth? We have five shots at it: New York, California, Delaware, Connecticut, and Washington State. Of these, the most likely is New York where Republican Joe DioGuardi is only one point behind appointed Senator Kristin Gillibrand in the latest published poll. (One key advantage of the DioGuardi race: If he wins, because Gillibrand is only appointed to take Hillary's vacancy, Joe would take office immediately helping to prevent mayhem at the lame duck session).

Thanks,

Dick Morris

A lost by Reid would be disastrous. He is a putts, but he is effective at times.
