Obama’s Health Care Summit

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 25th February 2010

The health care summit is happening today. It started this morning with Obama arguing that a sweeping overhaul of the nation’s broken health care system is imperative for the nation’s future economic vitality. The ‘just say no’ Republicans want far more modest changes. “We believe we have a better idea,” retorted GOP Sen. Lamar Alexander. Of course he thinks he has a better idea. One that will put more money into Big Pharma and deepen their pockets, all at the expense of the American people.

Obama lamented the partisan bickering that has resulted in a stalemate over Democratic legislation to extend coverage to more than 30 million people who are now uninsured. “Politics I think ended up trumping practical common sense,” he said.

I don’t disagree with Obama very much, but I don’t think politics is what is trumping practical common sense. Maybe he can’t say it, but I can. Politics is just a veil…a veil that tries to hide what is so obviously transparent to me: Greed. Greed for money. Greed for power. The Republican’s mouths salivate with greed, all at the expense of the American people.

It’s greed that is trumping practical common sense.…and quite frankly, greed doesn’t give a damn about practical common sense. Greed doesn’t give a damn about others. It’s thrown in the garbage and buried right beside compassion. Greed doesn’t give a damn about much more than obtaining more of the same, that benefits only a few. Greed, a disease, keeps devouring whatever is in its way to prevent its growth…all the while getting bigger and stronger. And once again, all at the expense of the American people.

Am I far off? I hope so. But from what I have read, those that oppose are showing no signs of change so far at this summit.

This morning I watched Keith Olbermann’s Special Comment from last night. Once again he relates to our broken health care system, by making it personal.

Readers: Comments? Rants? Get on your soapbox – blog me.

Mike: The White House doesn’t have to portray the Republican’s as the ‘party of no’. They do a fine job for themselves. As far as the American people, not being invited: Wrong. Didn’t they know there would be a live cam at the summit? Now ALL can watch.

Machupa: Thank you.

Floyd: How hypocritical -You don’t chose your candidate regardless of sex.  It’s obvious from your statement, that your criteria of choosing any women candidates are based solely on ‘looks’ that are appealing to you….otherwise, no surprise, you choose the men.

Careta: Thank you for your kind words, and for sharing your thoughts and feelings. I like your way of thinking.

I too am grateful to have this venue so that anyone can speak their mind as they think it. And I hope that if what you say for this world could become true, then I too wish we would have more venues like this to allow release and give relief so that those on the end of a psycho’s justification for violence, could possibly be freed or prevented from happening in the first place.

I am sorry that you had that experience, and grateful that you think my blog and what I write and print could prevent that in some way, shape, or form. I write this blog with the intent to help others. So I thank you for your sincere deep felt words. My words here are the same. :)

Linda: Yes and you will be one of those white women kicking and screaming into total freedom. I just love that line and had to use it again.

ZL: Thanks for the phone call. I was at work – working a lot these days. I’ll check in as soon as I can. Hope the poison oak is on its way out.

Subserviency: Western vs Middle Eastern

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 24th February 2010

Hi Josef: My pleasure. Sorry to hear you are no longer on your beloved Guam. I hope that where ever you are you are able to visit Guam and your family there.

Bob: Touché. Good observation.

Madaline: In the spirit of the ladies discussion, well and simply said Maddy. Thanks for the update on the little aliens.

Jorge and Careta: Your relationship is beautiful and rare indeed.  You are blessed to have found each other and I wish you both continued happiness and mutual trust.

Konduz: What struck me the most from your comments, was your statements:

“But I assure you we are not white women. If we could affect a change in our situation via the vote. We would not do as white women in American do.”

“We would NOT quietly give our lives over to the our men. We would vote our interest. We would vote to give women at least equal representation on any counsel that decided the fate of our nation.”

“No Senate or Congressional or Presidential body would be exclusive or mostly male.”

How frustrated you and others must be with the way white women act when we have such freedoms here. How stupid we must look and are to those that don’t have the freedoms that we take for granted every day. How you can even respect us as women I don’t even know. What I do know is that what you say of how you would be, should you ever lead the privileged life that we lead, is true. How I wish that opportunity for you and all of the other women.

Women in general can be and are highly intelligent and amazing and it disturbs me so, that you and so many others are being held back from showing us all your true gifts…from being able to contribute to the fullest extent in your lives. Oh how the world is missing out.

When I look at the way women are subservient in both cultures, Western and the Middle Eastern, it is obvious that there are differences between the two. Western women are psychologically subservient, and women from the Middle East are thrown into subserviency through brutality.

Both use religion to force women into subserviency and subjugate them.  The difference between the two cultures is how religion does it: In one you’ll go to hell, and in the other we’ll send you to hell. No need to tell you which one is which. The point being is that both are equally effective.

If you ask me, the more successful is subserviency that is used in the West. Behind closed doors it works and continues to work. That is proven by looking at the state of our country presently. When a woman is in a voting booth and she votes for men, even when knowing men are dogging her, and treating her less than an equal. Now that is control.

To control a woman psychologically, means you control her mind. And in my opinion,  control of her mind is a more successful way to control than having control over her physically…with the mind free and thinking, if even only being able to express thoughts and desires and plans to her women friends surreptitiously. This is not to say that the physical abuse that happens daily to women is not a terrible atrocity. We all know that it is.

The Middle Eastern women know when they are being abused. Women who are abused by physical force know it – there is never a question. Some white women aren’t even aware of the abuse when it is psychological. Your statement, “Perhaps when the OTWs of America have won true equality they will drag white women kicking and screaming into total freedom with them”, tells a future reality and keeps playing over and over in my mind. How true that statement is.

In the Middle east, in my opinion, if it were not for the sheer strength and brutality of their men, the women there would rule. The men know this. They know the only power they have is the power of the hand. They know that their women support their women – that the sex sticks together. And should they ever be freed from the slavery that they endure daily, women would take over.  They would support their women, as men in all cultures do. It will be a day of celebration and inspiration that I hope I will be able to witness.

When will white women learn this and be this way for each other?

Konduz, Shir Khan, Tarin Kowt, Nawzad: I am truly inspired by your strength and envious of your dedication and loyalty to the women in your life and country. How I hope it spreads like an infectious disease to the white women of the western world. I have more to say about the western women, but I will reserve it for another time.

I’m out of time…

‘Hypocrisy’ Is the GOP’s Middle Name

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 22nd February 2010

‘Hypocrisy’ is the GOP’s middle name in my book. And I don’t feel I am being judgmental when the facts speak for themselves. If anyone’s being judgmental, and yes ‘hypocritical’, it is Jason Mattera of the Young America’s Foundation, who was a featured speaker at CPAC (Annual Conservative Political Action Conference) last Thursday. This is what he had to say:

I won’t even respond to his comments on ‘beauty, and speaking in complete sentences’ – I’ll leave that up to you to give me your two.

Mattera went further by knocking the president for using cocaine at one point in his early years, and equating the country’s experience with the Obama administration to a regrettable drug binge.

“On the cocaine front I do believe many young people in America view Barack in the same fashion they view drugs: it was a substance to experiment with.” The hangover has them saying, ‘What the hell did I just do.’”

He declared that “even the slutty Obama girl has said her crush has faded,” and then went on to make fun of the “feminist new black man” — a “crossover between Rupaul and [Rep.] Barney Frank.”

Can you believe this guy? Yeah he had his 5 minutes. He’s standing tall and proud in his rhetoric. We’ll probably read about Mattera sometime in the near future, as we do with so many GOP’s who judge others so harshly, who tout their high morals, and then inevitably get caught with their pants down. And in Mattera’s case….maybe with cocaine up his nose too. Another 5 minutes of fame, but this time he won’t be standing tall and proud in his truth.

So…let’s get back to the facts on drugs. Did I mention ‘hypocrisy’ being the GOP’s middle name? They should be called the GHP because…well, I don’t really need to tell now do I? Look in the mirror GHP – Here’s a few facts to push you off your moral high ground:

  • Remember that President Bush – “the straight shooter” — was never able to answer simple questions about his cocaine use. For years his answer was that he made “youthful indiscretions.”
  • John McCain, and his family, know about substance abuse on a very personal level. Cindy McCain had a well-known addiction to prescription pain pills. She was so hooked that she illegally used her charity to obtain the drugs. She would have physicians write prescriptions and then filled them with names of her staff.
  • Rush Limbaugh, one of the most prominent conservative voices did drugs. Anyone remember how he would send his maid out to score him his Oxycontin?
  • Sarah Palin used an illegal drug and so has Newt Gingrich.
Need I go on?

Rush Limbaugh once scoffed at the idea that African Americans are disproportionately arrested on drug charges, and suggested that the solution should be to arrest more white people. Yet when he was busted for drugs, he changed his tune in a heartbeat.

No surprise there from Rush.

Why do people ridicule past, or even current drug use, when ‘hypocrisy’ is a dealt out in doses daily by the GOP? Oops I mean GHP :).  At least with drugs, most of the harm comes to the individual taking it, but ‘hypocrisy’ can run rampant throughout society, hooking people on every lie, having a huge effect on many individuals thinking and actions. Oh…but how silly of me, the GHP knows this. It’s part of the party’s plan.

Health Care And Human Rights

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 18th February 2010

Two important topics I want to talk about this morning.

The first being Health care. It seems the public option has a chance of being reinserted back into health care reform. Thanks to a letter sent from progressive House freshmen Jared Polis (D-Colo.) and Chellie Pingree (D-Maine), a new movement to put the public option back on the table is in motion. And if Democrats can get the votes and move through the chamber under majority-only rules, I’d say we, and the public option, could possibly be sitting pretty.

So what does that mean exactly? Well, we need at least 51 votes:

Because of the rules surrounding budget reconciliation, the process that would allow health care reform to move through with 51 votes, any Senator may bring up an amendment to the package. An opponent of the amendment will then likely make a point of order and argue that the amendment violates the “Byrd Rule” and is out of order. If the parliamentarian sustains the point of order, the amendment would need 60 votes to pass. But if he deems that it complies with the rules of reconciliation — that it has a substantial effect on the budget and is germane to the legislation — then the amendment passes with a majority vote.

Chris Bowers, who has been counting votes based on public responses and private correspondence, counts at least 45 votes for a public option. Democrats would need to find five more, with Vice President Joe Biden breaking the tie.

Readers: If you want to read the rest of the related article click here. This isn’t over, so don’t get excited and start thinking this is a done deal. As always we have our work cut out for us. Here’s a request from our President:

In just the last 3 days, OFA volunteers like you have pledged an incredible 4,000,000 (and counting!) hours to supportmembers of Congress and candidates who fight for real health reform.

We can prove to Congress that health reform is good policy and good politics, but we need to go as big as possible. So today we’re setting a new goal: 5 million hours pledged.

If we hit it, the country will know. We’ll be running an ad with the final tally in USA Today the nation’s largest newspaper. And to make sure your voice is heard where it matters most, we’ll run radio ads in critical states and districts, featuring local voters announcing the pledge total from their area.

Your hours will make a huge difference wherever you live, and there’s many different ways to get involved. Can you help us hit 5 million hours by pledging today?

http://my.barackobama.com/YouFight

How many hours a week will you give to help get reform passed? I pledged 2 hours per week. Can you do the same? Again,  all of us just need to give a little bit of our time to make a few phone calls, write a few letters, talk to a few people, and spread the word expressing our thoughts on how important it is for health care reform to pass. We all need good health care, and the people who really need, the people whose life depends on it NOW, will be so grateful of your time and effort. Thanks!

The second topic on my mind is the Human Rights Film Festival happing here in San Francisco. It’s free, open to the public and starts tonight.  I’ve listed the films that are going to be shown today, and they look so interesting. I can’t go tonight, but I am hoping to make it this weekend. Will you join me?

2010 HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL AT USF

February 18, 19, 20

Presentation Theater

Free & Open to the General Public

Thursday 2/18

1:00 PM
Opening Remarks
USF Students’ Shorts

Skinny, Sexy, Synthetic, 7 min, Directors: Meghan Raab and Daniela Ricci-Tam
The film explores how unrealistic media representations affect women’s body image and self esteem. In response, About-Face, a local non-profit, teaches women and girls to understand harmful media messages and resist sexist advertisements.

Generación, 11 min., Director: Kate Elston
Thousands of children in Lima, Peru live on the streets where they are victims of violence, police brutality, sexual exploitation and trafficking. Generación is an organization that supports the kids and gets them into homes where they are free to learn, play, and work. Visit www.notforsalecampaign.org to learn more and donate.

Ugandan Days, A Video Journal, 50 min., Director: Erika Myszynski
Initially created to document USF’s Erasmus Community students’ travels to Uganda, Ugandan Days, A Video Journal became more than just an immersion, observation and social analysis of the Ugandan people. In researching child soldiery in war-torn Gulu (northern Uganda), many of us had been surprised to witness a world quite different from what we had read. Instead, we found a peaceful and progressive nation. The video reveals a people little scarred by their past struggles and Joseph Kony’s 23-year long war against order. The video journal exposes how the war victims’ underlying pains are transformed into a humbling determination to improve the current situation. A message from Ugandans to Americans: Africa is not such a dark place. It is a place filled with strength, community, resilience, and joy because of an undying hope to forgive and to survive.

2:30PM
TAPESTRIES OF HOPE, 2009, USA, 76 min. Dir. Michealene Cristini Risley
* Presented by the President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women
Tapestries of Hope, explores filmmaker and child rights advocate Michealene Cristini Risley’s sojourn to Zimbabwe to document the work of Betty Makoni and the Girl Child Network. The film exposes an issue that continues to be ignored: the rape and sexual abuse of thousands of young girls in Zimbabwe, by men who believe their actions will cure them of HIV/AIDS.

4:15 PM
ASK NOT, 2008, 73min. USA, Dir. Johnny Symons

* Presented by the USF LGBT Caucus

Ask Not is a rare and compelling documentary film that explores the effects of the US military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on gay and lesbian soldiers and service members. The award-winning film exposes the tangled political battles that led to the discriminatory law and examines the societal shifts that have occurred since its passage in 1993. Current and veteran gay soldiers reveal how “don’t ask, don’t tell” affects them during their tours of duty, as they struggle to maintain a double life, uncertain of whom they can trust. The film also explores how gay veterans and youth organizers are turning to forms of personal activism to overturn the policy. From a national speaking tour of conservative universities to protests at military recruitment offices, these public events question how the U.S. military can claim to represent democracy and freedom while denying one segment of the population the right to serve.

6:00 PM
CRUDE, 2009,101 min., Ecuador/UK/USA, Dir. Joe Berlinger

* A selection from the Human Rights Watch Traveling Film Festival
** Presented by Environmental Studies
Three years in the making, this riveting new documentary from acclaimed filmmaker Joe Berlinger (Brother’s Keeper, Paradise Lost, Metallica: Some Kind of Monster) tells the epic story of one of the largest and most controversial legal cases on the planet. An inside look at the infamous $27 billion “Amazon Chernobyl” case, Crude is a real-life, high stakes legal drama involving global politics, the environmental movement, celebrity activism, human rights advocacy, multinational corporate power, and the fate of disappearing indigenous cultures. Subverting the conventions of advocacy filmmaking, this award-winning film explores a complex situation from all angles, bringing an important story of environmental peril and human suffering into focus. Jack: If it isn’t obvious that I am very comfortable with ‘that boy’ in the White House, then I am clearly not articulating myself well here. And I know that it not true. And yes white men did make this country what it is today and I say that not with pride. You however, have made it very clear that you are a racist only concerned with retaining and receiving the many benefits that you are privileged to receive strictly by being a white man.  Your lack of tolerance is only exceeded by your lack of humility.

Economic Elite vs People Of The USA (Part I)

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 17th February 2010

Good morning.

While perusing the Huff Po, I was reading a few comments from an article that held my interest. And one of the comments lead me to another site, which lead me to another site, and landed me to this article written by David DeGraw of AlterNet, From his report ‘The Economic Elite vs People Of The USA’.

The Economic Elite Have Engineered an Extraordinary Coup, Threatening the Very Existence of the Middle Class

The economic elite have robbed us all. The amount of suffering in the United States of America is literally a crime against humanity.

“The American oligarchy spares no pains in promoting the belief that it does not exist, but the success of its disappearing act depends on equally strenuous efforts on the part of an American public anxious to believe in egalitarian fictions and unwilling to see what is hidden in plain sight.” — Michael Lind, To Have and to Have Not

We all have very strong differences of opinion on many issues. However, like our founding fathers before us, we must put aside our differences and unite to fight a common enemy.

It has now become evident to a critical mass that the Republican and Democratic parties, along with all three branches of our government, have been bought off by a well-organized Economic Elite who are tactically destroying our way of life. The harsh truth is that 99 percent of the U.S. population no longer has political representation. The U.S. economy, government and tax system is now blatantly rigged against us.

Current statistical societal indicators clearly demonstrate that a strategic attack has been launched and an analysis of current governmental policies prove that conditions for 99 percent of Americans will continue to deteriorate. The Economic Elite have engineered a financial coup and have brought war to our doorstep…and make no mistake, they have launched a war to eliminate the U.S. middle class.

To those who feel I am using extreme rhetoric, I ask you to please take a few minutes of your time to hear me out and research the evidence put forth. The facts are there for the unprejudiced, rational and reasoned mind to absorb. It is the unfortunate reality of our current crisis.

Unless we all unite and organize on common ground, our very way of life and the ideals that our country was founded upon will continue to unravel.

Before exposing exactly who the Economic Elite are, and discussing common sense ways in which we can defeat them, let’s take a look at how much damage they have already caused.

Casualties of Economic Terrorism, Surveying the Damage

The devastating numbers across-the-board on the economic front are staggering. I’ll go through some of them here, many we have already become all too familiar with. We hear some of these numbers all the time, so much so that it appears as if we have already begun “to normalize the unthinkable.” You may be sick of hearing them, but behind each number is an enormous amount of individual suffering, American lives and families who are struggling worse than they ever have.

America is the richest nation in history, yet we now have the highest poverty rate in the industrialized world with an unprecedented amount of Americans living in dire straights and over 50 million citizens already living in poverty.

The government has come up with clever ways to downplay all of these numbers, but we have over 50 million people who need to use food stamps to eat, and a stunning 50 percent of U.S. children will use food stamps to eat at some point in their childhoods. Approximately 20,000 people are added to this total every day. In 2009, one out of five U.S. households didn’t have enough money to buy food. In households with children, this number rose to 24 percent, as the hunger rate among U.S. citizens has now reached an all-time high.

We also currently have over 50 million U.S. citizens without health care. 1.4 million Americans filed for bankruptcy in 2009, a 32 percent increase from 2008. As bankruptcies continue to skyrocket, medical bankruptcies are responsible for over 60 percent of them, and over 75 percent of the medical bankruptcies filed are from people who have health care insurance. We have the most expensive health care system in the world, we are forced to pay twice as much as other countries and the overall care we get in return ranks 37th in the world.

In total, Americans have lost $5 trillion from their pensions and savings since the economic crisis began and $13 trillion in the value of their homes. During the first full year of the crisis, workers between the age of 55 – 60, who have worked for 20 – 29 years, have lost an average of 25 percent off their 401k. “Personal debt has risen from 65 percent of income in 1980 to 125 percent today.” Over five million U.S. families have already lost their homes, in total 13 million U.S. families are expected to lose their home by 2014, with 25 percent of current mortgages underwater. Deutsche Bank has an even grimmer prediction: “The percentage of ‘underwater’ loans may rise to 48 percent, or 25 million homes.” Every day 10,000 U.S. homes enter foreclosure. Statistics show that an increasing number of these people are not finding shelter elsewhere, there are now over 3 million homeless Americans, the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population is single parents with children.

One place more and more Americans are finding a home is in prison. With a prison population of 2.3 million people, we now have more people incarcerated than any other nation in the world — the per capita statistics are 700 per 100,000 citizens. In comparison, China has 110 per 100,000, France has 80 per 100,000, Saudi Arabia has 45 per 100,000. The prison industry is thriving and expecting major growth over the next few years. A recent report from the Hartford Advocate titled “Incarceration Nation” revealed that “a new prison opens every week somewhere in America.”

Mass Unemployment

The government unemployment rate is deceptive on several levels. It doesn’t count people who are “involuntary part-time workers,” meaning workers who are working part-time but want to find full-time work. It also doesn’t count “discouraged workers,” meaning long-term unemployed people who have lost hope and don’t consistently look for work. As time goes by, more and more people stop consistently looking for work and are discounted from the unemployment figure. For instance, in January, 1.1 million workers were eliminated from the unemployment total because they were “officially” labeled discouraged workers. So instead of the number rising, we will hear deceptive reports about unemployment leveling off.

On top of this, the Bureau of Labor Statistics recently discovered that 824,000 job losses were never accounted for due to a “modeling error” in their data. Even in their initial January data there appears to be a huge understating, with the newest report saying the economy lost 20,000 jobs. TrimTabs employment analysis, which has consistently provided more accurate data, “estimated that the U.S. economy shed 104,000 jobs in January.”

When you factor in all these uncounted workers — “involuntary part-time” and “discouraged workers” — the unemployment rate rises from 9.7 percent to over 20 percent. In total, we now have over 30 million U.S. citizens who are unemployed or underemployed. The rarely cited “employment-participation” rate, which reveals the percentage of the population that is currently in the workforce, has now fallen to 64 percent.

Even based on the “official” unemployment rate, just to get back to the unemployment level of 4.6 percent that we had in 2007, we need to create over 10 million new jobs, and most every serious economist will tell you that these jobs are not coming back. In fact, we are still consistently shedding jobs, on just one day, January 27, several companies announced new cuts of more than 60,000 jobs.

Due to the length of this crisis already, millions of Americans are reaching a point where the unemployment benefits they have been living on are coming to an end. More workers have already been out of work longer than at any point since statistics have been recorded, with over six million now unemployed for over six months. A record 20 million Americans qualified for unemployment insurance benefits last year, causing 27 states to run out of funds, with seven more also expected to go into the red within the next few months. In total, 40 state programs are expected to go broke.

Most economists believe the unemployment rate will remain high for the foreseeable future. What will happen when we have millions of laid-off workers without any unemployment benefits to save them?

Working More for Less

The millions struggling to find work are just part of the story. Due to the fact that we now have a record high six people for every one job opening, companies have been able to further increase the workload on their remaining employees. They have been able to increase the amount of hours Americans are working, reduce wages and drastically cut back on benefits. Even though Americans were already the most productive workers in the world before the economic crisis, in the third quarter of 2009, average worker productivity increased by an annualized rate of 9.5 percent, at the same time unit labor cost decreased by 5.2 percent. This has led to record profits for many companies. Of the 220 companies in the S&P 500 who have reported fourth-quarter results thus far, 78 percent of them had “better-than-expected profits” with earnings 17 percent above expectations, “the highest for any quarter since Thomson Reuters began tracking data.”

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the national median wage was only $32,390 per year in 2008, and median household income fell by 3.6 percent while the unemployment rate was 5.8 percent. With the unemployment rate now at 10 percent, median income has been falling at a 5 percent rate and is expected to continue its decline. Not surprisingly, Americans’ job satisfaction level is now at an all-time low.

There are also a growing number of employed people who, despite having a job, are still living in poverty. There are at least 15 million workers who now fall into this rapidly growing category. $32,390 a year is not going to get you far in today’s economy, and half of the country is making less than that. This is why many Americans are now forced to work two jobs to provide for their family to hopefully make ends meet.

A Crime Against Humanity

The mainstream news media will numb us to this horrifying reality by endlessly talking about the latest numbers, but they never piece them together to show you the whole devastating picture, and they rarely show you all the immense individual suffering behind them. This is how they “normalize the unthinkable” and make us become passive in the face of such a high causality count.

Behind each of these numbers, is a tremendous amount of misery; the physical toll is only outdone by the severe psychological toll. Anyone who has had to put off medical care, or who couldn’t get medical care for one of their family members due to financial circumstances, can tell you about the psychological toll that is on top of the physical suffering. Anyone who has felt the stress of wondering how they were going to get their child’s next meal or their own, or the stress of not knowing how they are going to pay the mortgage, rent, electricity or heat bill, let alone the car payment, gas, phone, cable or Internet bill.

There are now well over 150 million Americans who feel stress over these things on a consistent basis. Over 60 percent of Americans now live paycheck to paycheck.

These are all basic things every person should be able to easily afford in a technologically advanced society such as ours. The reason we struggle with these things is because the Economic Elite have robbed us all. This amount of suffering in the United States of America is literally a crime against humanity.

This is Part I of David DeGraw’s report, “The Economic Elite vs. People of the USA. ” AlterNet will run Part II in the coming days.

Readers: What do you think of DeGraw’s  write? In light of Anonz’s comment the other day, as well as past comments, could this guy be far off from the truth? He’s linked all of his ‘facts’. You be the judge and do your own research. Stay tuned for Part II.

Zen Lill: Okay so maybe the term the ‘little penis’ wonders are soo 2009 too. Who needs the tag line – Let’s just call it what it is: Racism. I’m just sick of it – We all know where it stems from…between the crotch…Oh I just couldn’t help it…Okay I’ll stop. I’ll be civilized.

Bob: Ain’t that the truth.

Suz:  I like it – here’s another one for you: DORMITORY. When you rearrange the letters: DIRTY ROOM.

And while I’m at it….Billy are you still reading? Here’s one for you: “Those who get too big for their britches will be exposed in the end.” I hope you are doing okay.

Anon: Okay…you must be a friend having a little fun with me. I haven’t been out in public in my bathing suit in quite some time. And when I have it has been with friends only – fess up c’mon…who are ya? First name…and I’ll know. ( I think :)

Zuvan: You are too darling. Don’t let anyone convince you to get married if you want to start a business. Boys will always be there and this opportunity with your sister may not. Go for it. I wish you and your sis good luck!

Peter: Wow Guam changing back to its original name – that’s kind of a big deal.

Miranda: Thanks for opening up and sharing your story. I’d say that your husband is probably feeling a little threatened right now. You used to always dance only with him, and now you are on many men’s dance card. Good for you for letting yourself enjoy more of what you love. And although it seems you are being very respectful of your husband’s feelings, and you just really want to shake your booty and have some fun, (I am like this too – love to dance! It’s never about the man I am dancing with, it’s all about the music and if he happens to be a great dancer that inspires me, well that is just icing on the cake then.) your husband is probably wondering ‘what will you engage in next’.

In regards to when do you sleep with this potential lover? Well..you’re talking to a woman who really wasn’t much of a dater. I fell pretty quickly into relationships the moment that I felt something more, so I am not the best judge. And honestly it has been so long, I can’t remember how many times I dated any guy before I slept with him. These days it is a lot less than it used to be.

However I do have an opinion on the matter. Since you are not looking for marriage and you just want some lovin’ on the side, I wouldn’t suggest that you hold back on sex. Since sex is really what you’re out there to experience, and not necessarily another relationship,  if I am reading you correctly. That being said, I’m not saying to just give it up to any man on the first date either.

Not being experienced in the extramarital sex arena, I can only advise using some common sense, a condom, and your keen intuition. And I would also suggest being frank with Frank or who ever he is :), let him know what’s going on, and what the boundaries are by laying out some ground rules. Make sure that you can trust the man/men to be discreet, as Joan pointed out. There’s probably men out there who are…and if he’s got a good thing going he won’t want it to end, so hopefully he’ll keep his mouth shut. I wish you luck in your new venture and finding a discreet male companion.

I am not encouraging infidelity, nor am I judging you. As a mature woman, you will do what you choose, just as men will do what they do. That’s all I have to offer. Perhaps some of my readers will chime in and give you some additional/better advice from ‘experience’.

I have more to say to others, but this write is long enough for today.  I will resume tomorrow as usual.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my ‘loyal’(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog.
