Harmony Naturally

Posted by michellemoquin on 13th August 2008

Good morning everyone…

I woke up this morning not myself. I had two different topics that I was planning on writing about and I couldn’t decide which one. After reading the comment from Marli, I feel like writing neither as both subjects were not very pleasant. For another time…

Hi Marli: It was quite wonderful to wake up to your comment. Your description brings tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing.

For some reason this planet Arvis, your words, as much as you feel were not adequate enough for the beauty that you experienced…..touched me almost more so than hearing about Sweteno.  In Sweteno, beings were the way they were on that planet because the planet changed them when they arrived. To my understanding, one did not have a choice of how to ‘behave’, one just became harmonious with all others. That alone, not to mention all of the other blessings….is simply wondrous.

But there in Arvis, the planets beings seem to blend harmoniously naturally, or at least it feels that way from your personal portrayal.  But unlike Sweteno it also left me feeling bittersweet. Why? Maybe it is my own state of mind, my own desire for our planet Earth to be different than it is. I am reminded that there are places and beings out there that truly care for, appreciate and honor, the planet.  They cherish and respect the differences between beings, uplifting, and caring for each other.

Ah…to try to be in harmony with all is one thing…many on our planet do not even strive for this…but to naturally be harmonious with all things…now that is awe-inspiring.

How blessed you Earthlings are to experience something that I only dream for us. I am delighted for you and desirous to experience it for myself. Soon…

~~~~???~~~~
Hi Marta:  I wish that I could say more or that I had something better to report. I read this morning that despite the ‘truce’, Russian tanks are heading deeper into Georgia. I wish you peace soon.
Readers: What are you going to do today?  How about striving for harmony in your life :) Here’s a little ‘Harmony’ from yours truly…
Georgia: What are the answers?
Posted by michellemoquin on 12th August 2008
So my question is…’Why is Russia attacking the Democratic state of Georgia?’ The disputes are happening inside of Georgia, not in Russia, and between Georgia and South Ossetia (which desires to split away from Georgia and join the Russian Federation), not Russia.   Why is Putin butting in?
It seems to me that Putin is just pissed that the Soviet Union no longer exists as a world power and he wants it back. He has commented that the end of the  USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) was the worst disaster of the 20th Century. It is obvious that he doesn’t want Georgia to be a pro-western government that is so closely aligned with the US. So close are we that there is a street in Georgia named…you got it…’George Bush’.
And what about NATO? Putin thinks that it is wrong that the US is even having talks with Georgia about NATO. Putin has made it clear, ‘Russia will do anything and everything possible to suffocate Georgia’s drive to join NATO and the European Union.’  Obviously war is in the ‘anything’ and ‘everything’ category.
Could it be that this is a second shot at a Cold War? Does Russia want to reimpose authority and their super power status? With all of the heated territorial disputes that have been going on for many years,  it seems to me that the answers are yes.
How about the pipeline? It is said that Putin wants to get his hands on the international Caspian sea pipeline that traverses Georgia.  But of course…It is the only pipeline from Asia that is outside Russia’s control.
Do we and our European allies step in to help? If we don’t what will that mean for Georgia?  Putin has proved that he has been ruthless before and he is showing his ruthlessness again. He is determined to have his way with Georgia.  Who would be next? The other former Soviet satellites that are now western democracies (Ukraine, Poland, the Baltic Republics). They will be increasingly defenseless against the Russians  if Georgia is broken apart.
To date: Thousands of people have been killed.  As of yesterday Georgia had pledged a cease-fire as well as the world’s seven largest economic powers including Bush who pressed Moscow to accept an immediate cease-fire and pull its troops out. The Georgian Ambassador Irakli Alasania has told reporters, “A full military invasion of Georgia is going on….Now I think Security Council has to act.”
What happened to Putin’s poster slogan, ‘Say yes to peace and stability’?
Readers: What are your thoughts?
Hello Valerian: I feel as if I have more questions than answers. And in answer to your question, I am sorry, I don’t know who will help. I can only hope that it will end soon with as few casualties as possible.  Be well, Be safe.
Hey Zen Lill: Your tardy friend sounds the same as my tardy friend.  She was often rude to the wait people and if any guy tried to come on to either of us while we were chatting, she would not so nicely ask them to leave when I have no problem with a friendly interruption. It was always so uncomfortable. I miss the good times but not all of the effort it took to be her friend. I think she is secretly a man-hater myself and actually may have had an interest in moi,  therefore always upset over any man giving me attention.  Ugh…friendships should be easy.
Gathering of the Moons
Posted by michellemoquin on 8th August 2008
Good Morning….
I’ve got China on my mind again. Nothing political…well only a little. And after all, today is the opening day of the Olympics so why not celebrate something we can all appreciate?
 Let’s talk Art!
I love art especially abstract and modern art….grew up with it all over our house. My father is an artist and I suppose I was so used to being around interesting art and artists my entire life, that I never really appreciated how lucky I was to be surrounded by such creativity.
I love art especially abstract and modern art….grew up with it all over our house. My father is an artist and I suppose I was so used to being around interesting art and artists my entire life, that I never really appreciated how lucky I was to be surrounded by such creativity.
However, I do remember our first family visit to Europe when I was twelve and visiting all of the museums day after day got really old when there was so much more to see such as….fashion!  Obviously the love of art showed up in a different medium that resonated with me to my core.  Fashion as an art form was my passion and all of the art that I was so blessed to view as I grew up influenced me year after year in my business.
So when I was flipping through the paper the other day, an abstract sculpture caught my eye. The article was featuring 20 sculptors who were commissioned to do artwork for the Beijing Olympics and  one of the artists was from Oakland: Bruce Beasley. It was him and his sculpture that graced the front page.
Sculpture by Bruce Beasley, Photo by Michael Macor / The Chronicle
Beasley’s sculpture, “Gathering of the Moons’ are beautiful slicing steel discs that fit together in an abstract form. And although he has shown several pieces of work in China, they always come back to the US…this one however will be a permanent installation.
Beasley says, ‘I like to take shapes that alone don’t carry any emotional feeling, but by their intersecting of each other, start to talk to us emotionally.’ He relates it to how musical notes that stand alone have very little meaning…but put them together…‘….it’s their relationship with each other that makes the difference between something that’s noise and banal and something that is profound and moving.’
I like his analogy…right on. I see the musical movement in his ‘Gathering of the Moons’. And being the tactile person that I am, I wish I was in Beijing to not only feast my eyes, but delight my hands to their touch…I can only imagine how smooth the moons must feel and how their reflective surface shimmers in the sunlight.
Hey….has anyone there seen this beauty live?
Hello Eng:  I am saddened by your email. I could never imagine what it is like to walk in your shoes. I was blessed to born a woman in America.
I feel it is my duty to write about worldly issues; to get them out there as I learn, so that I can share and spread what needs to be heard. I’m sure that goes for anyone who writes on my blog. I too learn from those that share their knowledge.
Hi Merkid:  My only hope is that your surprise will be one that brings no harm but enlightens, teaches, or sends a message that many will listen to. I look forward to seeing it.
Hi Sheikh: How are you? Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, I had guessed as much. I bet the Mongol women that you brought up are so excited to finally have freedom.
Thanks for allowing some Mongols to get in so that we can hear their thoughts.
In regards to the rest of your comment….Ironies are popular these days….it seems to go hand in hand with greed.
Hey Muhuli: Unfortunately and sadly you are so right. I wish I could say differently. ‘Exterminated’: The meaning is so different from being ‘assimilated’ but the intention is the same.  Why not call it what it is?  Do persecutors feel?  If they did, if they could step into your shoes and feel what being exterminated feels like, then they would not do what they do.
Hi Eji:  As much as all of the girls are looking forward to meeting me, it is I who will be delighted to have such amazing girls from all over the world in my presence. You are all ‘up there’ working hard, learning and preparing. I too am preparing in my own way ‘down here’.
Love your new attitude! And you are so right…there is room on earth for all of the cultures to inhibit it.
ZL: I have a serious hankering too…Doug: do something! :)
It is early and I have a job to go to – yes…this woman is back to work, part time helping out a friend. I’ll be posting way early every Friday morning for awhile…which means I’ll be getting up even earlier. Oh…How I love my sleep :)
Have a good one.
Obama in Berlin: Who saw it? Who was banned?
Posted by michellemoquin on 25th July 2008
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAhb06Z8N1c&hl=en&fs=1]
Okay my  German friends – I know you are out there; I have heard from several of you. Jon, Herbert: So what did you think of Obama’s speech in Berlin last night? Were you able to attend the rally? 200,000 people went to see Obama. And on the news you had the repubs bitching that it was not his place to be in Germany representing America. Who said he was representing America?  He spoke not as a candidate but as a World Citizen. Furthermore it was stated that he shouldn’t be making speeches overseas; that he is being premature because he isn’t the president ‘yet’…Yeah, but it’s perfectly fine for McCain to make a speech in Canada.
Anyway, I digressed….back to the rally. So…can you believe that the US Embassy instructed State Department employees stationed there to NOT attend the public rally?  This is true Berlin’ites. Did you hear about this?  The State Department said that they always maintain that no US Government Foreign Service person overseas should be seen supporting one side or the other. Don’t they realize that preventing is advocating one side or the other? I guess they don’t want to. And furthermore, they just had to add this to CTA (cover their ass), “It has nothing to do with ‘who’ the candidate is.”
Hmm…funny. Of course, you know this would not have happened if McCain was rallying in Berlin.   Patrick Kennedy  who works for the State Department said,“I don’t believe we’ve ever had to interpret this before. None of us thinking about this could come up with a precedent”. Gee,  and they say it has nothing to do with ‘who’ the candidate is.   Yeah right.
The Manual states: ‘A U.S. citizen employee, spouse, or family member shall not engage in partisan political activities abroad”.  However, the American Foreign Service Association complained calling the ruling an, ‘unnecessarily narrow interpretation’ of the Foreign Affairs Manual. ‘The fact that you are working for the U.S. government overseas should not preclude political activity that you could engage in in the United States,’ one retired senior Foreign Service officer said.  Hmm..sounds fair to me. Unfortunately the complaint didn’t get very far. But c’mon,  what could they have done in such a short period of time? They were only notified 18 hours before the speech.
We can’t ride the State department too hard…they did make one adjustment: Even though the manual includes spouses and family members, the State Department decided to let that part slide, making the ruling ONLY for the service officials. Now, wasn’t that nice of them.
So what’s the big beef? …like it’s not going to be shown on TV or discussed amongst everyone…especially now since the spouses and family members were allowed to attend.  If anything, it is going to bring about even more discussions and more focus on the event because of  this ridiculous ruling.  Why not just let them hang with their families and friends at the rally.  Why not? Because Kennedy says he wants to ensure that foreign service officials will remain untainted by a “partisan political act.”   Hmm…Do you think the State Department would opine similar thoughts if it was McCain making an appearance?
I’ll tell you what the big beef is. The big beef is that I think the administration is afraid that the people stationed there are going to be exposed to the truth: The truth being that the Germans ‘worship’ Obama and ‘loathe’ Bush and god forbid if they express negative sentiments about McCain too.  This ain’t new news folks, and stopping State Department employees from attending an Obama rally isn’t going to make them jump on the McCain train.
So do you think that with this low blow act the Bushmin are getting a tad bit worried that their man McCain isn’t gonna make it into the White House?
Readers: What do you think?
What about you Peeps from Germany: Tell us your thoughts. Blog me.
***************
Wow…when I leave you peeps alone to ‘finish it’, you’re all over it.
Hi Terri: Thanks for reading every day. Oh…some people have such little faith in women. Happy to hear that you are not one of them, but it does not surprise me. Why do you think that with women holding the majority of the vote, some women still won’t vote a woman into office? Like…Hillary could do any worse than what is going on right now…the bar is already set way low and wouldn’t take much to surpass.  Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge Obama fan….it’s just that people would vote in a person such as a Bush or McCain before they would consider to vote in a woman.  I’ve said my two on this way too many times. Moved forward…
Dark Hispanic man: I know you are so right on. A white man has nothing to bitch about. Did you watch the CNN special last night ‘Black in America’? Last night particularly held my interest. The struggles and challenges that I am aware of are so much more magnified than I could ever imagine. I felt so infuriated as I watched and listened to statistic after devastating statistic. A white man has absolutely no idea what it is like for a black man; for OTW”s.  In case any of you missed it, it will be aired again this Saturday night.
Hi Anon:  I remember that comment that Racime made. Not that Tal needs to be defended ’cause I’m not defending him. Racime was just the messenger. I just wanted to say that I am sorry for your loss too.
Hi John: Welcome and thanks to your friend for leading you to me. Thanks for your offer too. Reaching more people would be great, but even better if I could take on some advertising and have it not be too ‘in your face’.  If I could make a good living writing my blog that would be simply divine. I put hours into research and writing. At some point I may need to get a job if something does not pan out for me here.
So that being said, I would love to talk to you. However, you are just like the majority of people who comment: with no contact email address. I’ve stated before that not only am I powerless to the block that is put on my blog, I am also powerless to the block that is on my email address connected to my blog. Basically I am telling you, if you really want to talk to me, YOU have to attach an email address to your comment. :)  Lastly, as one of the ‘blog rules’, you can be rest assured your email address is safe with me.  I hope to hear from you!
Hi Trudy:  Happy that you made it in.  Gosh, I feel like it is a contest of just who and how many can ‘slip in’ on a daily basis! Really, I am not sure what I could have said to help you or give you courage, but I am happy that something inspired you to leave a marriage that it seems you were not happy in.  I wish you the best. :)
Hi ‘proud republican’ John: Look…I know you’re not talking to me but to another ‘white man’. I just wanted to set the record straight AGAIN….I do not sensor the comments. Never have and never will unless a spammer gets through. Then you may see a comment and then see it disappear.  AND…once again, if you do not like what you read, don’t read. Real simple.
Hi ZL: I think they guy was definitely trying to impress you, but what do I know – Maybe he is correct or maaybee…he wants you to be a slave to ‘love’…now that I can relate to…uh huh! :)
Hello Navajo:  Not sure if you are a woman but my gut tells me yes. I have been told many stories of the native American Indian; stories not unlike the ones you have shared. I do not know how many people actually know the truths or just believe what they have read in the history books or have seen in the movies.  But I agree with you, it should make people uncomfortable. It certainly makes me. It is a part of life and hiding ones head in the sand or turning a blind eye is not a solution.
Okay, that is it for today – Go out and be kind. Sending love right back at ya…smack!
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle  ?
Contraception = Abortion
Posted by michellemoquin on 21st July 2008
Can we just please fast forward to 2009? This whole rights over our bodies issue just continues and doesn’t seem to be getting any better. In fact I feel like we are going backwards. Now the Bushmin are trying to redefine abortion in the name of contraception.  Believe it or not they are trying to say that the definition of abortion  includes some contraception methods such as birth control pills and intrauterine devices! They have got to be kidding? I am livid over this.
Are we now changing the definition of conception and taking it even further than before? Conception occurs when the egg and the sperm unite in the Fallopian tubes. It then takes another 3-4 days before the fertilized egg implants into uterus. The birth control methods that they are  trying to link to abortion, interrupt this path – the sperm never reaches the egg! No conception occurs.
How are women supposed to protect themselves from getting pregnant when they are labeling some of the simplest and most effective birth control methods as abortions.  As I write this I am almost in tears I am so pissed off.  What are women going to do if this plan goes through? Let me tell you, if this plan goes through, we can all say goodbye to all of the funding dedicated to hospitals and states where medical providers are obligated to offer legal abortions  and contraception to women.  They are trying to back door us women…leave us no choice but to have children that we do not want if we can not be supplied with good contraception that we can count on.  It is another push closer towards overturning Roe v Wade.
Women rely on good birth control.  It is especially crucial for women who are against having abortions in the first place. They would now be even more susceptible to getting pregnant and actually go through with the pregnancy just because of their morals. We can say hello to more unwanted pregnancies. And those that are not opposed to abortions…well, they are going to abort anyway, so you can count on the abortion numbers going up too. Abortion will become a form of birth control!
God I wish men could get pregnant! How can men possibly relate? They can’t or they wouldn’t be putting us through this…or would they? In what area can we even make a comparison? Hey you men out there who can’t get it up anymore: How would you like it if you didn’t have access to Viagra or some penis enhancer?  How about if we said, ‘Sorry, you little penis men..or sorry you premature ejaculator, or sorry you limp dick…you’re just gonna have to figure out another way to get it up and keep it up!’  You know that would never happen. No not to men. They would never in a million years give in to that. Not to mention that whatever it is they’re taking is for their enhanced sexual pleasure. Not to say that women aren’t happy about a hard dick. But gee…last time I checked taking birth control didn’t enhance my sex life…It doesn’t provide women with instant lubrication or an instant orgasm. Birth control is not a desire, No, it is a necessity in life; one that can not be taken away.  I may not get pleasure from it but what it does provide, more than just the obvious, is it provides me with ‘peace of mind.’ Birth control allows women to feel safe, and free; to be able to enjoy sex without the worry.  Oh yeah, but I forgot, silly me…many men aren’t concerned about women enjoying sex…many just don’t care if a woman gets off or not. Oh no, so long as he gets his. Because ya know what, if they did care about women’s necessities, women’s happiness, women’s rights,  this issue would never have come up and we wouldn’t be having this discussion.
And, I have to add…years ago women had to fight to get tampon advertisements on TV.  In case you are in the dark about this, (I am speaking to the men) we don’t choose to get our periods – it is a natural monthly occurrence.  Yet it was a fight to be heard, let alone be seen….and god forbid on TV.  Men didn’t want to hear about periods; they didn’t think it was something a child should see on television. Oh…But when men can’t get it up and a solution to their problem was discovered, of course it had to be advertised – EVERYWHERE.  You can’t watch  television for 5 minutes without seeing some Viagra or other male enhancer splashed across the television screen.
Don’t let birth control be denied to women. I am not only speaking to the women out there but I am speaking to the men out there too – don’t you dare sit back and do nothing. Hillary is fighting hard against these proposed changes.
 “We will not put up with this radical, ideological agenda to turn the clock back on women’s rights. Women would watch their contraceptive coverage disappear overnight.”
-Senator Hillary Clinton
Hello Madaline:  I will get back to you in regards to all of your concerns tomorrow. I understand that you and the girls are sick of Earth. I am feeling that a bit myself these days. Hang in there.
Hi Sheikh:  Thank you for enlightening us about Pickens. I am so disappointed this morning to read what you had to say about him and Anonz, that I am speechless.
I have to say that when I first saw Pickens my first thought was, ‘Hmmm…white man from Texas in the oil business’…I immediately judged and did not trust his intentions.  But after reading what he had to say I thought his plan sounded good. It probably is. My mistake was not listening to my gut first impression and diving deeper into his past.  Is it once again, that things aren’t what they seem or am I just not doing enough homework? I hope that you my readers were more thorough than I was.
Anonz: I am hoping that what the girls say is not true; I would like to hear your side of the story. I had faith in you and I had your back covered in hopes that you were a changed man ready to do great things with your bills.  Please tell me that I made the right decision.
Signing off…
