CIC – Comedian in Chief

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 2nd November 2008

Good morning!

Last night on ‘Saturday Night Live’ they featured their last spoof of the campaign trails before the big election. And how appropriate to end it with McCain and Palin – their campaign has been a joke from the start so why not end it as one? McCain showed a sense of humor and his smile seemed quite sincere for once – maybe reality is sinking in and he’s having a vision of a new career…or maybe he’s smiling out of downright embarrassment. And Palin…Oops, it’s actually Tina Fey, not Palin – yeah  - she is that good!

It wasn’t the best of the series but then again, their campaign hasn’t been the best either. Still….it’s worth a showing…my way of saying ‘Ta Ta!’, to the maverick and his rogue sidekick.  Enjoy!

**********

Toni: Hmmm…not sure I’ve seen an Italian horror flick – Do you have one to recommend or are they all silly?

Hey Barbara: Oh sometimes I hate this blog too – really just kidding. But I can imagine your frustration. You write a long comment, pouring out your thoughts and wham! – You can’t get in. And then you write something just to see if it gets in, and voila!- it does and it wasn’t quite what you wanted to say. I have my frustrations with this blog too, believe me.  After the election? Normalcy? Hmm…not sure things will change much. Content probably will but…well, we’ll just have to wait and see. Thanks for being here!

Paul: That is too funny! – Your mom just doesn’t get it. Maybe you ought to just tell her. I know easier said than done, but hey…then you wouldn’t need a reason to dress up as a woman everyday. Think of the freedom. :)

Hi Lucy: After a while the shock wears off. :)

Hello Craig: I agree with you – Go vote! I was shocked to learn that only 54% of the peeps vote. I think It’s going to be very different this year.

Have a pleasant Sunday!

Wassup? The Truth About Obama’s Tax Plan

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 29th October 2008

I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. This video is so funny and the editing is brill. I’ve watched it at least a half dozen times and I still can’t stop laughing.  But hey, if ya can’t laugh at the state were in, although it is sadly true, then you really must not believe that ‘change’ is gonna happen.  I do and it’s funny shit like this that gets me through it. So…how does it end?…Well you just have to watch the video. Enjoy and laugh out loud – I did. Thanks for posting on Facebook Paul!

But on a more serious note ’cause laughing helps the soul and information helps the polls…McCain is still spewing lies about Obama  and his ‘plan to raise taxes’. He’s just gonna keep saying it, hoping that there are enough stupid people out there who will continue to listen to him…continue to believe his lies and punch his name come election day. But I’m here to push the truth, and the truth is, “Obama is not going to raise your taxes unless you make over $250,000. annual income’.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden will cut taxes for 95% of working families, and provide at least three times as much tax relief for middle class families as John McCain and Sarah Palin. The Obama/Biden plan provides $1,000 of tax relief for workers and new tax benefits to help families pay for college, childcare and save for retirement.

Got it?

If you don’t believe me go to ‘Tax Cut Facts’, and prove it to yourself.  It’s easy. Just enter in your income, marital status and number of kids on the Obama-Biden Tax Calculator, hit ‘calculate now’ and Voila!  The calculator will tell you exactly what your tax savings will be under the Obama admin, and what it would be under McCain.  Simple.  Now you have your answer and now you have no reason to listen to McCain’s BS any longer. Whew…that feels good, doesn’t it?

PS: Just on an added note….if you’re voting for McCain strictly because you make over $250K and you want that tax break, then get your self absorbed face out of your bank account and think about the country. And don’t give me the BS that McCain is ‘country first’ – we all know that is a lie. You know who you are out there.  Okay I’ve said my two. Rebuttal if you dare.

Madaline:  It has been a few days. How is it going?

Hi Zen Lill:  Misty-eyed? Mine were drops. But I can’t say that anything weird happened at the theater – Foot massaging….but Nope, no toe breathing that I can recall…Bummer. That is just too funny! :)

Hi Doug: I love your optimism.

Anonz: Maybe it is you who should write the book. I’m sure it would be a best seller. As always, thanks for the enlightenment. You have no idea….

Hello Shawn:  Once again, and for all of you thinking that it is I who is preventing you from getting in, it is not ME. I have no control who gets in and who doesn’t – it is a stroke of luck that you happen to slide in when ever you do. If I could ‘fix it’ believe me I would.

As far as introducing you to aliens? That will not be possible. However, if they want to find you they will. You left a perfect description- not that they would need one :-P. Hooking up with Doug and me? I am always curious to meet my readers, but I don’t think it is a good idea for me to inform you of where we will be. If you want to email me your contact info, we can take it from there. Cheers!

Peace & Love: Live it, Give it.

Obama Can Dance….But Palin?! Huh….maybe the beginning of a new career.

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 22nd October 2008

I just couldn’t resist keeping it light today!  Did you not know that these two made an appearance the other night on the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ show? C’mon where have ya been?! And for you men out there…I think if you enlarge this photo, Palin might even be showing a bit of nip – exciting huh? Gotta love modern technology! Hey ‘zoom zoom’ guy – you out there? :)

But seriously, I have to get serious for a moment because I haven’t spoken about Palin for quite some time now, and again I could not resist.  This woman is running for VP and she still doesn’t even know what the VP does…or is she just trying to re-write the constitution giving herself more power in the White House?  As we all know, this woman is power hungry.

Four times she got it wrong! Is no one correcting her, schooling her, rib jabbing her? Frankly, I’m delighted that she is digging a deeper hole – It’s hopefully gonna wake up those that still can’t see past her ‘wink wink’, ‘awe shucks’, and that winning ‘beauty pageant smile’.  Uh huh. For some reason I can’t see past that ‘deer caught in the headlight’ look.

 - Just in case you didn’t see this video on the Olbermann show, it is worth a peek:

My suggestion: Maybe Palin ought to start her new career in reality because she is definitely living a fantasy. Her 15 minutes are almost over – two more weeks peeps.

Oh…we were phone banking again last night for Obama and Prop 2. There is still time to get involved.  Get a group of your own peeps and make a night of it. We went with our two friends Elliot & Tracey, and I have to say doing it with friends is so much fun.

***********

Readers:  What is on your agenda this week? How is life? And those of you overseas…I know the state of our economy, and the up and downs of our stock market are having an affect.  I hope that you’re all hanging in there too. Comments? Thoughts? Blog me.

Peace out.

If The World Could Vote Who Would You Vote For?

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 11th October 2008

Good morning.

My cousin Mary emailed this to me and I found it so interesting. Thanks Mary!

So…to all my readers around the world, if you could vote for our next President, whom would you vote for? Go to ‘If the world could vote’  website and vote. The results will show you who (what country) and how many people in that particular country around the world voted on who they would like to see as our next President.  Will it be Obama? Or will it be McCain? You must vote to see the results.

~~~~~~~~~
Ah..Al: Are you feeling the angst and worry of the country and taking it out on me?  Not too long ago your words would’ve sent me over but today they mean nothing. They are only words spewing from your mouth.
If you remember way back when I discussed advertising you suggested that I ask for donations and that you would donate. Do you remember Al? Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is?
This may be a PT job for ZL; she’s a trained writer, but as for me I am not, and it feels like a FT job.  This blog is work for me, and hard work it is. I have never been a writer and I am not sure I consider myself one now, even though I have written every day for the past 16 months. Unfortunately writing has never come easy to me, and to this day it is still challenging.
I don’t do anything half assed. So when I started this blog I got inspired when I realized that I could channel my creativity through writing.  I made a commitment that I would write everyday and do my best no matter what I wrote about. Some subjects are very easy to write and some are very challenging. But because I care about what is written, it is paramount that I read and research, no matter if my readership is a thousand or a hundred thousand.
It’s no one’s business where the state of our finances are, but if I can make money on my blog and not have to abandon it for work that I know I can make a living at, (I have been designing clothing for the past 20 years and I am good at it.) then I would rather do just that, so that I can continue to do something that I love and be here everyday for my readers who look forward to the daily writes.  It’s really that simple.
No Al, your words did not bother me. What bothered me is what Anonz said, “…I doubt the gov’t would allow her to experience that kind of encouragement.” If I do not make money on my blog, at some point I may have to abandon it. That is a fact.
This is not a ploy to get people to contribute. There are plenty of people asking for donations that are far more in need than I am and still…people don’t donate. And really Al, if there are only a few readers as you seem to think, then why be concerned that I am profitable.  As far as advertisers are concerned, they know how to get the numbers if they are interested.
Lastly, I have never had the word cunt used in a derogatory way towards me before, and especially not ‘greedy cunt’.  No…my cunt is very ‘giving’.  ”You have the most beautiful cunt.” “I want to fuck your cunt.” “Your cunt is the tightest, hottest, juiciest, sweetest piece of meat I’ve ever had.” Now, those are words that have been spoken. I never thought I’d write about my cunt on my blog. How delightful…
So…Got the visual? Just in case you haven’t, let me tease you with a little photo.  I know you don’t like my face, so I’ve cropped the photo just for you. I left my mouth though….just for a little added pleasure.
PS: Don’t try to zoom in and see my cunt. Hahhaha! I know you’re messed up Al, so I’ll let you slide. Tao’s been screwing with your mind getting you ready for that space travel that you so desire. Just remember….If we ever do have that ride together, I’ll let you smell it, but you’ll never get a taste of it.  You’ll wish you had the chance to be pussy whipped by this!…C’mon… tell me your laughing.
I just had to end there…much better with a laugh than anything else…yes?
Loyal Readers: You know who you are…Comments? You know what to do.  As always….
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle
We went to ‘Indulgence’ and did I indulge.
Posted by michellemoquin on 11th September 2008
Oooooh this is a toughy for me this morning. I am not used to going out on a school night :), partying like there’s no tomorrow, only getting 5 hours of sleep (this factor alone makes me cranky), AND keeping my commitments such as getting up and posting my blog for the day. Throw in going to class – nope, not today. Sorry, Ms. Crystal, if you’re reading this, this girl is playing hooky today.  There is only so much I can do in the state I am in.
Doug and I were invited to attend Harry Denton’s 12th Anniversary ‘Indulgence’ party last night, at his signature Harry Denton’s Starlight Room, and being that it feels like we haven’t ‘indulged’ in awhile, we decided to go out and do just that. Harry ‘indulged’ us by seating us at this perfect booth right in the heat of it all while continually ‘indulging’ us with champagne and delightful conversation.  Our good friend Steven surprised us with his presence, and joined us at our booth…I was just loving being surrounded by my favorite men. Could it get any better? Yeah, get me out on that dance floor for a spin and my night is just perfect. Of course that is exactly what I did and yes it was just perfect.
I’ve known Harry for over 15 years now. I met him when I was dancing at his first establishment ‘Southside” in the south of Market in SF.  I wanted to cocktail at Southside, so while shaking it up on the dance floor  with him (Harry is too much fun to dance with), I offered up my services and he bit. The very next week this girl was practicing how to carry a tray above her head, because I was just hired in one of SF’s hottest bars and I had no experience. I handled it I must say,  dropping only a tray full of drinks on top of my head once.  Since then Harry and I  have been good friends.
It’s always fun at the Starlight Room and has a sweet place in my heart. Not only because I adore Harry and had the wonderful opportunity to design the gowns that the cocktail servers wear, and not only because it is on top of a very famous and old hotel, the Sir Francis Drake, with one of the most spectacular views of San Francisco, but because Doug and I were so fortunate to have our wedding reception in this special place. It was not only beautiful and one of my happiest memories, but a memorable celebration, a party to say the least (people still talk about it) and each time I am there it is as if the party never ended. The Champagne flowed then and it did last night.  Harry knows how to throw a good party.
Oh and later on in the evening, Doug and I decided to escape onto the fire escape and enjoy a view from outside…seems we were not alone. Harry came out and joined us for a ‘smoke’ and a little chit chat…and yes, we do have a few celebs here in SF…seems Sean Penn was ‘indulging’ out on the fire escape too.
And to carry on in the mood of  ’indulgence’, Doug and I zipped over to ‘Sparkey’s’ a 24-hour joint  that we used to visit after a night of partying.  Once again we ‘indulged’, only this time in pancakes, eggs and fries. Ya gotta love late night munchies…however, somehow I remember it tasting much better years ago.
************
Thanks ZL!
Hey Doug:  Bali ho – let’s go! Even if McCain and Ms Pain don’t.
Hello Zhun: Once again, I am envious of all that you are experiencing. I wish you could send photos.
Okay, got to go. Now I’m going to ‘indulge’ in some morning Java and drag myself to class. Have a good one.
