Welcome to the new site!

-Michelle

David: Thank you so much for hanging in there all of these months and wanting to move forward even when I was exhausted and frustrated over this entire thing!  You have been such a patient and positive force in getting this going.  And thank you too Doug for doing all that you could to get me up and running too and putting up with my daily, ‘So…did you work on my blog today?” I know you have both been busy in your every day lives, and I so appreciate the time spent.  We finally did it! So…when are we going to go out and have that celebratory drink(s)?

************

If you are saying….”Huh…what happened to today’s post?” Did you look up at your browser address. My tech guy was successful and the redirect to my new blog site happened! You have been seamlessly redirected to the new address. I am very delighted to say the least. So much for the two weeks heads up and the manual move!

Okay…so please add this address to your Bookmarks Bar  and your RSS feed and I  think we are all set to go! Feel free to start commenting here.

**HOWEVER PLEASE BE PATIENT AS THIS IS THE FIRST DAY AND WE ARE NOT SURE IF THE SET UP IS COMPLETELY CORRECT.  I WOULD NOT DISREGARD MY OLD BLOG ADDRESS YET.  I WILL KEEP EVERYONE UP TO SPEED AND NOTIFY YOU ON BOTH SITES SHOULD WE HAVE ANY GLITCHES. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE!

October 1, 1:06 PM:

Okay we just tested and tried to post a comment and it is asking for you to ‘log in’. This is a glitch. Please be patient we are trying to fix it. Keep checking back for further details- Thanks! I will retrieve the comments that I can,  and copy and paste them into this post for the rest of the readers to read.

THANK YOU!

Good Morning!

For many months we have been setting up the new site and trying to move my blog seamlessly to another address making the transition easy for my readers. We have been working actively corresponding with tech and customer support, moving the blog to different hosts (twice now), in order to redirect the address to the new address and, unfortunately it has been quite challenging. I am still confident that my tech guy can pull this off, meaning that when you click on this blog: http://michellemoquin.wordpress.com in your browser, it will seamlessly take you over to the new blog without you having to enter in the new address: http://blog.michellemoquin.com.

However, in the mean time, we are going to prepare for the move manually like we did over 6 months ago when I moved my blog from my .mac account to here at WordPress. And like I did before, I gave all of you enough of a notice before the blog made its final move. So, that being said, this is your notice:

THE NEW BLOG ADDRESS STARTING ON WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 15, 2008 WILL BE: http://blog.michellemoquin.com

Please add this new site to your Bookmarks Bar and your RSS feed.

The new blog is up and running now and virtually looks the same. Please feel free to check it out, but please do not go there and comment until the actual first day of the move, Wednesday October 15. Up until then please still read and comment here. We will be uploading daily so that when the move is complete on Wednesday, the blog will be contemporary and there will be no reason for you to ever come back to this address again. If the automatic redirect happens before then, I will inform you. Any questions on this, blog me.

So why am I moving the blog?

Simple. I know that you my readers count on me to write everyday. And I love writing everyday, but a girl has got to make a living. As I mentioned last year, I wanted to start advertising. Nothing in your face, just a few ads here and there, and possibly some cool items to buy. If I can generate some revenue doing something that which I love to do, then it is time to grow this blog and get paid for my time. I know, for those of you that have been with me from the beginning, you thought I was going to be doing that here. When I moved over to WordPress, I thought so too. Unfortunately this division of WordPress does not work that way…long story not worth getting in to.

So…there you have it. Feel free to comment.

Oh…and just so that you don’t forget about the move I will be doing a daily countdown just as I did before so that everyday you will be aware of the number of days left before the final move on Wednesday October 15. I know that most of you read daily, but I don’t want to lose any of you in the process of the change.

Thanks for your patience with this. I could use some as I have lost mine in these past months!

Sex and The Ex Politex (Part Deux)

Posted by michellemoquin on 26th September 2008

Oh Anonz:  I’m surprised. You actually commented on something else that I wrote. :) Thanks as it gave me something to write about today.

I think I need to be more clear. I was trying to be light in my write.  ZL got my point. I was using the term ‘slept with’ very loosely…in regards to ‘relationships’. My article was basically about women getting jealous of their mans past ‘relationships’, not what the man said or didn’t say to his current significant. But hey, you took it down a different road – I can hang with that. You did bring up some very valid points and obviously there is a lot to be said here and some areas that need to be addressed.  So I will.

You are absolutely correct. I agree a man should never tell. My statement:  ‘Now let me just preface that I really don’t think it is that stupid for a man to tell his significant other of past women that he has slept with, and especially women that he still has a friendly relationship with’ could’ve been worded to be more clear: ‘I really don’t think it is that stupid for a man to tell his significant other of past women that he was in relationships with’. (There should be no threat – the dirty deed has been done:) However, how he responds to her says it all. If she says, ‘so, I hear you went out with her for awhile?’ He says it casually, like, ‘Yeah we went out for a few years, but it didn’t work.’ That’s cool. But if he says grinning, ‘Yeah, the sex was great but we fought a lot.’ Not cool.

I didn’t mean that it was okay for a man to go off in the mouth about all the women that he slept with to his now current love.  Nor was I referring to a man who is ‘implicitly crowing as his sexual conquests flutter around him in her presence.’ Nor was I talking about revealing such intimate details. Any of the above is very disrespectful and any guy who does this is a cad in my mind too.

I was referring to ‘committed relationships’ when I was speaking of ‘ex’s not just a one-nighter or a casual date.  I was speaking of a ‘relationship’ – I don’t call anyone I have slept with casually an ‘ex’.  I was referring to relationships where it was assumed that the two involved were sexually active. ZL’s party example echos that.  Have you not been in a committed relationship to know the difference between an ‘ex’ and a one-night-stand or do you call all of you sexual relationships ex’s? Maybe men do.  I don’t.  I was not referring to the man who says openly, ‘Yeah I fucked her.’  I was referring to the woman who is really asking a rhetorical question of her man,  or grilling him, or if none was asked, it was jealousy by association.

I was referring to, as in my few cases, when a woman knows that I have been in a past relationship with her now present beau or husband and just decides that she doesn’t want me around anymore because we were in a relationship.  She may not have asked him anything about us. Or knowing we were in a sexual relationship, she may have railed him with questions such as I mentioned which I would hope that he would say, ‘It is none of your business.’ Again, I was using the term ‘slept with’ very loosely…in regards to ‘relationships’.  Maybe, I should’ve been clearer.  Or maybe you were just dying to broach the topic on a different level than I was referring to. Either way, I’ll carry on.

I don’t mean that he literally said to her that he ‘slept with me.’  I hope  that he didn’t just openly volunteer that information whether she asked or not.  In my circumstances, to my knowledge,  I had only one male friend who did tell the woman that he was marrying that we had slept together.  I asked him why she wasn’t that friendly to me and he told me that she knew we slept together.  Perturbed, I asked him why he  brought that up and he said because she asked, and he didn’t want to lie.  Well…ya know sometimes a little lie is the much better than the truth.  He obviously wanted to get a reaction out of her and make himself feel good like, “Yeah, I had her.” And really, I wasn’t so sure that she asked; that he just didn’t volunteer the info to do just that. And however he informed her, either way, I was no longer friends with him after that and their marriage sadly but not surprisingly didn’t last very long.  Had I known any of my male friends were revealing anything intimate about me, I would’ve ended those relationship too, but their significant other did it for me.

Lastly, yes I do have to agree that a man who reveals to his current significant other about other women is not only disrespectful to the woman, unless she okays it.  But if she doesn’t, I realize it can be very damaging to the woman in his current relationship. I can attest to this because I was a very jealous woman in a relationship that I had and rightfully so. He never informed me of women that he had slept with prior to me, but his ‘implicitly crowing’ left  me insecure and jealous all of the time. And the women weren’t ‘smilingly fluttering’ around him. Except for one, his best female friend who swore for years that my jealousy was misdirected. I believed her but found out later my jealous feelings were valid. But besides her, it was his doing, his actions, that gave me the feeling that I was never enough. Thankfully, I don’t own those stupid insecure thoughts anymore. But believe me it took me years to get over them.

FYI:  I think that your male chauvinistic side is showing. I wouldn’t dare give you advice but you might think of how this woman feels when you say, ”She just may not like being part of her cad’s mental harem as ‘you smilingly flutter’ around him.” First of all, I don’t like that you assume that my presence is a flirtatious one.  That I am the cause of the threat because of some action that you presume I am doing or worse just because of the way I look.  Sounds similar to the man who rapes the woman because she was wearing something revealing. ‘It was her fault,’ he claims, ‘She shouldn’t have tempted me.’ Well I’m not a threat just because I happen to be attractive.  ’Blame it on the pretty girl!’

That being said, I don’t ‘smilingly flutter’ around my ex’s. In fact I don’t ‘smilingly flutter’ period. I respect relationships and in no way do I ever try to make an ex’s significant other feel uncomfortable in my presence in any way. And if I know that he has a jealous significant other, I try my best to not add to her insecurity. Maybe because I can relate and I didn’t like it when I was in that position. If she is threatened most likely it is from his actions or something from the past,  not mine. So please don’t include me in the cad’s bad manners.

Okay, now I’m done. Thanks for bringing this up Anonz.  It, like sex, is a topic that was worth diving deeper into.

Readers:  It isn’t that simple. Do you think that all jealousy stems from somewhere?  Do women and men feel jealous because of something in their past or can people feel jealousy when nothing to be jealous of is present?   Comments? Blog me.

Doug: You had me laughing. Please don’t reveal our little secrets of me pretending you were my first…oops did I say that? :)

Oh…I just have to add one last thing: Ellen DeGeneres who is a big animal lover, will be talking about Prop 2 today on her show! Tune in wherever you live.  See ya….

I’m done.

Posted by michellemoquin on 13th September 2008

I was talking to a good friend of mine the other day catching up as we hadn’t seen each other in a very long time. Of course the election came up and we started chatting about you-know-who.  I began to tell her that you-know-who had been the focus of my blog and conversations for the past two weeks. That I was feeling obsessed over all of the drama around her.  She mentioned that she had thoughts about her but that she hadn’t really discussed it with anyone. Hmm..I thought that was very interesting.

Then she brought up the ‘pain body’ from Eckhart Tolle’s  book, ‘A New Earth’ and we chatted on about how Eckhart says that the voice in the head has a life of it’s own. How most people are at the mercy of that voice; they are possessed by thought, by the mind. I realized that in regards to this election and really mostly in regards to the negatives that the media in this election is bringing out, I knew that I was feeling this lately: possessed. I have control over my thoughts. I know this. However lately, I have let my thoughts run random in my head from everything that I have been seeing and reading, and yes I have been a bit obsessive. I admit it.

And I am sure there are many of you out there feeling the same way. I also know that it is time to stop giving you-know-who so much of my focus and focus on the outcome that I want. And furthermore, as Doug said to me later on, “The media is wrapped up in all of this BS and so are the people. Let’s focus on the issues.” So true. Obama has been stating the same over and over. It is time we do just that.

So that being said, now that we are all informed of the drama circulating, all the ‘he said, she said’, all of the family matters, all of the incompetence…its a bit like high school drama – eek! I’m done. I say let’s change the focus to what upsets us, to what we don’t want for this country, and focus and visualize on what we do want. Let’s give power, universal collective power to what we want to happen, to what is important to us and leave all of the BS behind. I’m sure something will surface again; the repugnicants are famous for bringing up trash and marketing it well so that we, the people fall into their traps, focusing on all of the drama instead of the issues. It happens every election. And the media is a perpetrator too.  But let’s be smart…informed…but smart and let’s not fall into the trap this time.

Everyone who knows me or reads my blog knows I’m voting for Obama/Biden.  As I said above, ‘I’m done with the drama. I’m going to focus on who I want to win this election and the important matters: The issues.’

Readers: Who ever you’re voting for, are you done with the BS and ready to focus on what’s really important? Comments? Blog me.

Doug: Loved your comment yesterday. Right on and straight forward.

That’s it for today….

Peace and Love: Live it, give it.

Palin’s first interview – Does she really believe she is ‘ready’?

Posted by michellemoquin on 12th September 2008

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ALsjhDDdaA&hl=en&fs=1]

You know I really wanted to write about something else this morning…focus on the good happening in this election…you know, the inspiring candidate who at the very least knows what the hell he is talking about….Obama, my choice for the president, the one I am supporting.  I am giving Palin way too much airtime on my blog but everyday there is so much news on her I just can’t help but feel compelled to point out  her stupidity.

Did you see ABC’s Charles Gibson interview Palin last night? Can this  woman give a straight answer to a question?! Palin is unbelievable – It is so obvious that she has no idea what she is talking about in so many areas. You can see the frustration in Gibson’s face while he questions her.  He has no respect for her, and I can only imagine what is going on in his mind. To me he clearly thinks she is incompetent to be running for veep.  The way he just moves onto the next question not giving her any time to answer because  she clearly does not have an answer worth listening to…an answer worthy of any further discussion.

Palin’s answer to the Bush Doctrine is ignorant.  When Charlie clued her in on exactly what it is, let me tell you she was taking it all in as if she was in school. I could see a slight panic and embarrassment on her face.  It was so revealing. I mean how could she not feel this way knowing she is running for a second in command position. Her face says it all. This is totally absurd and so scary.

When Gibson asked if she was ready to take on the second in command position and possibly the presidency, could she look the country in the eyes and say that she is ready (and he pointed to the camera). She couldn’t even look into the camera because everyone would know she was lying when she said she  was ready, when she said that she  thought yes right off the bat.  BS. I don’t believe her.  Ludicrous.  Forget that what she stands for goes against everything I stand up for, she is clearly incompetent to run this country as a second and definitely not as our Commander in Chief.

She says, ‘You can’t blink..you have to be wired in a way of being so committed to the mission…I didn’t blink then even…’ Hello! Did you notice how often she blinks her eyes?  She’s blinking them because she has no idea what to say.  Believe me she’ll not only be blinking her eyes all right if she ends up in office but she’ll be burying her head, thinking “What the fuck am I doing here? I can’t handle this job.’  She’s dumbfounded. And her answers always lead back to protecting our country from the evil terrorists – once again inducing fear into the public – the repugnicants canned answer and attitude to everything.  And the only answer she seems to give because she has nothing else to offer.

The only fear I have is her and McCain winning this election. I’m not worried about the evil terrorists outside of our country; I’m more concerned with the terrorists holding office and the ones running for office. They are the terrorists this country needs to be concerned about. I’m not going to apologize; it is truly how I feel. Remember the James Pence video that I posted?  Maybe you should look at it again.

Can you tell I’m a bit riled over this?  I wonder how revealing the next interview will be?

Lastly, if we elect McCain and Palin to run our country, we deserve everything we’re going to get.

I know I am not the only one feeling this way. Readers:  Step up. Blog me. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Oops sorry.  I was so focused on today’s write that I just now saw the banter between the anons from yesterday. I  have not read it.  Will catch up with all of you tomorrow.

Peace out…
