Racism Is Out Of Remission And Growing Stronger

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 17th November 2008

As much as I’d like to believe that racism is diminishing in the world, I know that it is just not true.   It is a disease that is rampant and I’m afraid there is not cure except for extermination. It is a disease that may go into remission until something draws it out. Obama winning the election was the catalyst, as racism is showing up stronger. Will it come to extermination at some point, or will the racists wake up and just get over the color of one’s skin?  Unfortunately, I have little faith that it will be the latter.

Doug gave me an article the other day after Anonz made comments about the RNC’s plans to insure that the media focuses on OTW crimes against whites during Obama’s  tenure, and to spend as much money as they can to pit the OTW’s against each other…all in the name of keeping the whites in power and wealth. As I said, racism is a disease and Obama being elected into office was the catalyst for this disease to come out of its remission. It is threatened and it will do anything it needs to do to insure its growth and survival, which means the destruction of anything OTW.

This article focused on events that have been happening around the US since November 5th when Obama was voted our president elect. Here are only a few of the hundreds that have been reported:

Cross burnings. Schoolchildren chanting “Assassinate Obama.” Black figures hung from nooses. Racial epithets scrawled on homes and cars.

_Black figures were hanged by nooses from trees on Mount Desert Island, Maine, the Bangor Daily News reported. The president of Baylor University in Waco, Texas said a rope found hanging from a campus tree was apparently an abandoned swing and not a noose.

_A black teenager in New York City said he was attacked with a bat on election night by four white men who shouted ‘Obama.’

_In the Pittsburgh suburb of Forest Hills, a black man said he found a note with a racial slur on his car windshield, saying “now that you voted for Obama, just watch out for your house.”

_Four North Carolina State University students admitted writing anti-Obama comments in a tunnel designated for free speech expression, including one that said: “Let’s shoot that (N-word) in the head.” Obama has received more threats than any other president-elect, authorities say.

_At Standish, Maine, a sign inside the Oak Hill General Store read: “Osama Obama Shotgun Pool.” Customers could sign up to bet $1 on a date when Obama would be killed. “Stabbing, shooting, roadside bombs, they all count,” the sign said. At the bottom of the marker board was written “Let’s hope someone wins.”

_Racist graffiti was found in places including New York’s Long Island, where two dozen cars were spray-painted; Kilgore, Texas, where the local high school and skate park were defaced; and the Los Angeles area, where swastikas, racial slurs and “Go Back To Africa” were spray painted on sidewalks, houses and cars.

_Second- and third-grade students on a school bus in Rexburg, Idaho, chanted “assassinate Obama,” a district official said.

_University of Alabama professor Marsha L. Houston said a poster of the Obama family was ripped off her office door. A replacement poster was defaced with a death threat and a racial slur. “It seems the election brought the racist rats out of the woodwork,” Houston said.

In addition, some remarks being reported:

Potok, who is white, said he believes there is “a large subset of white people in this country who feel that they are losing everything they know, that the country their forefathers built has somehow been stolen from them.”

Grant Griffin, a 46-year-old white Georgia native, expressed similar sentiments: “I believe our nation is ruined and has been for several decades and the election of Obama is merely the culmination of the change.

“If you had real change it would involve all the members of (Obama’s) church being deported,” he said.

Change in whatever form does not come easy, and a black president is “the most profound change in the field of race this country has experienced since the Civil War,” said William Ferris, senior associate director of the Center for the Study of the American South at the University of North Carolina. “It’s shaking the foundations on which the country has existed for centuries.”

Thanks Doug. There were more but too many to list – you get the point. Obama in office is a great thing but unfortunately it is bringing out the worst in racism. And all that being said, not surprisingly Obama has had more death threats than any other president elect, and my guess it will continue throughout his tenure.

I felt the community coming together during the election process but now I see it was only those in favor of Obama. The racists came together all right but their agenda was totally different. Community in their mind starts with a ‘w’ but ‘world’ is not the word.  And now I am thinking racial issues are going to be even more challenging because the racist whites are feeling threatened and it seems they will stop at nothing to regain the control that they have lost.

Now anonz has informed us of the cultish ways of the Mormon church. And now the RNC wants to legitimize this faith so that it will be accepted by the rest of America!  You’ve got to be kidding me. I don’t know much about this so-called religion except the widely known polygamy aspects and the ‘keeping down’ of their women – which is disturbing enough.

But to hear that Theocracy is the goal of the leaders of the Mormon cult and that the RNC is backing them in this is downright scary. This is not only a threat to OTW’s but to the women in this country on a level that could be worse than we have ever experienced before.

Thanks Anonz. I have to think about this and let it all sink in….Readers: do you all realize what anonz is saying or am I the only one that is seeing the detriment in his words? Or am I just thinking the worst? We know how powerful the RNC is. We know how stubborn racism is and just what is capable when racists and sexists are threatened.

Hi Nawzad: In regards to your comment. Thank you for your kind words. I am torn. Sometimes I have that same dream too. You live in a world that could be my reality someday.

Hi Sherie: I too enjoy hearing from the aliens but they are on their own right now. I’m sure at some point they’ll check in. But I know what you mean…it is fascinating to hear the ‘space talk’.

Tal, Viv, Gleia:  Anything you want to add here – please comment if you are available.

Hi Zen Lill:  No worries. I understand. I hope that you are successful in your practice. :)

The turnout of this election has spurred much.  I am disgusted at what I am learning. Comments? Blog me. I got to go.

On My Mind…

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 16th November 2008

I usually wake up with an agenda of some sort..something to write about. But this morning, there is not one topic that is in the forefront of my mind so I thought I would just chat about whatever is on my mind as it enters my mind.

However, ‘patience’ might be something to keep in mind while reading my write today since in normal everyday conversation, it is a well-known family characteristic that the chit chat tends to go in many different directions at once. That may happen here as I write contemporaneously with my thoughts.

I grew up in a family where a mish mash of thoughts, ideas, suggestions etc., gets thrown around the room, and up against the wall creating overflowing laughter and multi dialogue as we passionately talk over each other until one topic grabs our attentions…if only for a few moments. I have to say, that I love it. And really, that I appreciate the openness and warmth. One can only truly appreciate the free-for-all bantering when one finds themselves in a situation where silence is the pink elephant in the room.

Not that I can’t be silent…but why? Especially when I am surrounded by people…even if it is someone I don’t even know. What better way to get to know them than by striking up a conversation. The more silent a person is the more challenged I am. Or maybe I’m just feeling uncomfortable in my own silence that I need to break it. Okay, we’re talking around a dinner table or at a party, not at a funeral. :)

So this actually happened to me the other night when I went to a party at a restaurant in celebration of Prop 2.  I walked up to the table and realized that not only did I not know one person at the table but that I also felt that I could be the mother of at least 2/3′s of them. The first realization bothered me for a second only because I was looking forward to seeing some of the people that I phone banked with, and the latter not at all. The majority of them I found out were students at UC Berkeley.

I sat down at the corner seat and introduced myself.  There were a few minutes of silence and then the conversation started to flow. I discovered that the young man next to me was married to the woman across from him. Both of them at the young age of 18 enrolled in the Marine Corps with high hopes of travel and making a good living. They met around their second year in their 5-year commitment while they were both studying ‘Arab linguistics.’  ’Oh now this is getting good’, I thought to myself. They fell in love and right after they got married….yep, he was shipped of to his first term in Iraq.  Evidently this young man had mastered the language very quickly and his services were needed to translate in Iraq.

Boy, did I have a lot of questions then.  First he informed me that when he got to Iraq the language was so different from what he had learned that he needed to re-learn it from the locals for another 4 months before he could begin his work.

My mind was so curious….And what about the weapons of mass destruction? Oh there were many conversations between him and his comrades – they knew there were none.

How long were you there? What experience impacted you the most out there? What did you learn about yourself? About the Iraqi people?  Did I feel like I was prying? A bit. But he never once said that he didn’t want to talk about it so I didn’t let up. People interest me. I didn’t want to hear the gory details; I was more interested in his thoughts and how it may have changed his life or his perspective on life.

Everything he told me seemed pretty matter of fact until he started talking about the Iraqi people. Then his face lit up. He said that the people were so kind and helpful to him. That he worked with many of the locals and they were more than happy to assist him in any way they could.

On another note…his wife informed me that her brother had also served in Iraq and every member of his platoon were killed except him and a handful of other men. And when he got home and was in dire need of support – his mind couldn’t handle all that he saw and he started to have seizures – the VA thanked him for his duties and graciously paid 20% of his health bills. Gee thanks, that is so kind of you. After going to court he was able to get them to pay 60%. But now she says that in his present mental condition he does not have the wherewith all to fight for more. So he lives…

How unfair it is that all of these young men and women fight for our country, which they have chosen to do, only to come home to feeling abandoned by their country that they dedicated and risked their lives for. I understand that someone signs up for duty. They are aware of the risks and the atrocities that happen during war time. But…and this is a big but…is it too much to ask for that they be given 100% paid for health care? Is it too much that they be given what ever emotional or physical support is needed to help get them back to a state or normalcy, if even possible?

My time is over.

Madaline: I will contact you through our channels.

Readers: Thoughts on anything? Blog me.   I’ll address the commentators tomorrow. Peace out….

Peep Show

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 8th November 2008

Good Morning everyone.

What whacko dreams I had last night.   And they left me very spacey this morning. So…I am keeping it light and just posting a little ‘peep show’ for your enjoyment. Okay…so it’s not really your typical ‘peep show’  but I know you women, and men, will get a laugh from it.  Enjoy!

Anonz: I just have to say something else before I say goodbye. I am not asking that you not go. I know you know the risk that you are taking – you have seen the atrocities and I am sure that you are fully prepared as best as you could possibly be, and  ’luck’ is on your side. I understand your need to go back and pursue those perpetrators that murdered Nia…that somehow you could not live out the rest of your life in peace and joy without knowing that those that murdered her so brutally got what they deserved. I am confident you will give them exactly that and more.

I have to agree with Wilma, in regards to you seeking help. Many have seen much less than you and have sought help. I hope that when you return you will seek some assistance should the sleepless nights continue.

However, since it is a fact that you are definitely leaving, based on the your eulogy to Nia, it is my belief that you wish to keep your promise to avenge her. I can understand your strong desire to punish those murderers. In order to see justice done for Nia, I’m going to rescind that order that I gave Madaline.  I am going to have her protect you until you have made contact with those vile creatures who have caused this terrible thing for poor Nia. After you have made contact with those murderers, Madaline will go her own way and leave you on your own.  Lastly,  I wish you the best of luck.

Madaline:  I am rescinding the order that I posted here on 06Nov08: The moment he steps foot onto Darfur soil, remove his protection. Instead the order will be:  Protect Anonz until he has made contact with the perpetrators who murdered Nia. Then leave him on his own.

You have your order. 21MRB.  Please confirm via here.

Hi Sherry: Happy to hear that you are taking that second chance . I wish you ‘luck’ :)

Hi Borge: Pretty much ZL said it all. Time will tell…but so far he has already moved forward in terms with agreements in Iraq that the Bushmen couldn’t seem to solidify.

Zen Lill: Chat today?

Peace out…

Be Prepared When Opportunity Comes

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 7th November 2008

How many times in your life has opportunity walked through the door, and surprise, you were not prepared? You could not benefit from the opportunity and in fact you may have even missed  the opportunity all together because you were not ready in whatever manner would have made you successful when opportunity knocked. In fact you may have thought that you were ‘unlucky’, but the simple fact was, you were not prepared.  You have no one to blame but yourself because of your lack of preparedness.

How many times in your life has opportunity walked through the door, and you were ready, prepared to meet that opportunity? You had all your bases covered, ‘just in case’. And when success came it looked as if it was effortless in everyone else’s eyes – they considered you ‘lucky’.  But you weren’t ‘lucky’,  you were just prepared in whatever means were necessary to reach your end result.

In that instant, you can smile to yourself knowing that all ‘luck’ is, is when preparation and opportunity meet. Simple. When you’re prepared, your chance for success will come. You can change chance into good fortune if you are ready.

How about second chances? When opportunity knocks the second time around will you look at it differently than the first? Was it ‘luck’ or fate that blessed you with a second chance?…Does it really matter? The point is, you have a second chance – Are you prepared…fully equipped, ready for anything? Will you honor this ‘luck’ or this ‘fate’ no matter how you acquired it and recognize that second chances don’t come around too often, and maybe….just maybe, there is good reason.

How stupid would it be if all of your efforts were for naught because you were not prepared? Don’t be stupid. Don’t blow the opportunity. Be prepared.  Because the only sure thing about ‘luck’ is that it will change.  Why take the chance? How smart it would be, to be as prepared as you could possibly be, to ensure that when the opportunity presents itself…when you have a chance to be successful and reach your goal….lady ‘luck’ is on your side.

Readers: Are you making sure ‘luck’ is on your side?  Share – blog me. If you can’t blog me, email me

Unfortunately my big plans for the day were changed…I am off to work – Have a good one.

Early Voting? Make Sure You Have Election Protection

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 31st October 2008

Good morning!

Thanks to Anonz, as promised I said that I would post the poll pointers again. Since so many of you are voting early I wanted to bring it up one more time before Election Day, November 4th.  So here is your heads up…things to heed while doing the voting deed. :)

Either party can preset the computer to give a preset response. In most cases McCain’s name is posted first and the pressure to activate his name is extended to the space below which has Obama’s name.

If the person just presses Obama’s name and doesn’t bother to check he will have pressed Obama but the computer will register McCain.

Michelle and you should tell all voters to stay and see what the computer registers on the screen as to what vote was cast. He/she can just reset and hit Obama again. If McCain continues to post as his/her choice, a pole assistant should be called over to correct the problem. The voter should also call several government numbers*, including *CNN, *MSNBC and report their problem. I don’t have the numbers presently, you and Michelle can look them up and post them on your blogs.

An additional problem in those states controlled by republican employees is that they will do everything in their power to steal your vote. It is a badge of honor for them to steal votes for republican candidates. Hence, it is imperative that the voter check all his/her votes so that any other democratic candidate or Initiative he/she has chosen is registered as he/she intended to vote.

Anonz also suggests that you take your cell phone with you to the voting booth and take a photo of your voting card showing how you voted.  I did yesterday and photographed the section where I voted for Obama. Ya know…just in case. Not that I don’t trust Madaline’s bad-ass-abilities, but it is always better to be safe than sorry. It only took a few seconds and hey, it’ll be my souvenir…history in the making.

Any how, the phone numbers took me forever to find but here they are should you have any problems at the polls:

No citizen should be deprived of their right to vote by reason of their race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or national origin, or by reason of fraudulent practices.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) encourages anyone with a complaint about voter discrimination to inform them of the problem, where it is, and how it affects voters. There are no special forms to use or procedures to follow. If you feel that your rights have been violated you can file a complaint under the Voting Rights Act.

You may contact the Voting Section of the DOJ Civil Rights Division by phone or mail at:

*CNN: If you experience any issues while voting please call our national voter hotline at 877.GOCNN08 (877.462.6608) and provide us with the information regarding your experience. This hotline is fully staff 24 hours a day seven days per week with a team who will investigate each reported issue.

Additional tips for voters:

Verify your registration.

Before going to the polls, confirm your voter registration at 1-866-OUR-VOTE. You can also contact your Secretary of State office. Click here for a list of sites.

Confirm your polling location.

Even if you’ve voted in the same place for 30 years, polling places can change, so make sure you know where to go on Election Day. Check Google Maps for your polling location right here.

Vote early.

Record turnout is expected this year, so if your state offers early voting (before Election Day), take advantage of it to avoid long lines and alleviate the strain on local election officials.

Remember your ID.

Every state identification law is different and many have changed recently, so make sure you know which forms of ID are accepted in your state before you get to the polls.

Don’t give anyone an excuse to keep you out of the polls.

In some states, wearing campaign paraphernalia into a polling place —shirts, a buttons, etc.—is against the law. Cover up your campaign materials to ensure a smooth voting experience.

Do not be intimidated by false rumors.

Eligible registered voters cannot be denied the right to vote because their homes have been foreclosed upon, they are late on child support payments, they have outstanding parking tickets, or they are students at local universities.

If you have been convicted of a felony, know your rights.

Many states allow people who have been convicted of a felony and completed their sentence to vote. Know your state laws and don’t be intimidated by misinformation.

Do not use a provisional ballot unless you absolutely have to.

Provisional ballots often aren’t counted until after a winner has been declared.

Bring your family, friends and neighbors.

Help elderly voters, disabled Americans, and people without transport get to the polls – no one should be left behind on Election Day!

Hey ZL: I have got to hear about this! Does it really work?

Doug: And as Madaline stated so clearly…men are so unwilling to have an otw be president that they would rather have a white unqualified man as our CIC protecting the ones that they supposedly love so much. To me McCain in office is just as risky as fucking without a condom.

Women Readers: Take Maddie’s advice.  Women, and just white women alone, are 51% of the vote – Don’t be an echo of your husband’s; make your own voice heard this election.

Readers:  I know many of you are from overseas and we have been so focused on ‘America’ lately.  I am ready for this election to be over and Obama to be in – how about you?  After November 4th, life will get back to some normalcy and we won’t be so focused on politics…or will we? Hmm…we shall see but my plan is to gab about some other important issues as well as some fun ones too.  Speaking of fun…

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

(My favorite Holiday! – Have some fun!)
