Good morning!

This is the first time in 5 years that I have not planned in advance what I was going to write today. And until 2 days ago I didn’t even think about it. But as I sit here today I just want to say “thank you”. Thank you to all my readers and especially to the ones who have been here with me from the very beginning. I realize that you have a choice to read many blogs out there but that you choose to read and be here with me and everyone else.

I am honored, humbled, and grateful to be in the company of so many diverse, intelligent, talented, admirable, funny, informative, savvy, courageous, inspiring, astute, witty, empathetic, brilliant, beautiful, complex, emotional, strong, tenacious, intuitive, vulnerable, passionate, enlightening, loving, and so many other wonderful things…”World Citizens”…and yes there are a few not so positive traits, as well as some downright sick ones that I can mention too, but that is a part of the diversity of this planet that we are all working on.

Let’s continue together to make this planet the best it can be for all.

Now…back to business. My job is to make sure that you’re all safe out there, so this is a heads up just in case you haven’t heard (Thanks Nancy!)

Yahoo’s password leak: What you need to know (FAQ)

Yahoo is the latest online service to confirm the disclosure of passwords belonging to throngs of its users. Here’s what we know — and, more important, what you need to do to protect yourself.

Yahoo has just become the latest big online service to suffer a major password breach. While the number of affected users is far smaller than in the last big exposure — that would be thepassword hack at LinkedIn last month, which exposed 6.5 million user passwords — the attack is a big black eye for Yahoo and a potential hazard to the 450,000 or so people whose log-in information is now flapping in the breeze.

So here’s CNET’s quick guide to the Yahoo password fumble and what you need to do.

What, exactly, went wrong?
A hacker collective calling itself D33Ds Co. publicly posted more than 450,000 log-in credentials– i.e., paired usernames and passwords — obtained from Yahoo’s “Contributor Network” site. In that data dump, the hackers described their attack as a “union-based SQL injection,” which is effectively a way of tricking the database on a poorly secured site into divulging private information.

Which, in this case, yielded a treasure trove of usernames and passwords, apparently all stored in plain text — itself a fairly significant security failure on Yahoo’s part. Passwords are usually cryptographically masked in a process called “hashing” to prevent exactly this sort of mass disclosure.

The file of usernames (predominantly e-mail addresses) and passwords, originally published on a public Web site, has since been widely distributed via BitTorrent and various file lockers across the Internet. In other words, this cat is very much out of the bag.

For what it’s worth, the D33Ds hackers claim they released the information to point out lax security at Yahoo, not for malicious purposes. That said, these possibly sensitive passwords are now available to the maliciously minded across the world. So for users, it’s better-safe-than-sorry time.

I’ve never heard of the Yahoo Contributor Network. Am I really in any danger here?
Maybe, maybe not. The Yahoo Contributor Network is, to be honest, sort of obscure. It was originally an independent site called Associated Content — a content farm that paid users a pittance to publish their written submissions, plus a bonus for any traffic generated. (Such “low-cost content,” as it’s known in the biz, is basically a lure used to draw search traffic to ads displayed nearby.) Yahoo acquired Associated Content two years ago, reportedly for more than $100 million.

It’s not immediately clear whose log-in credentials have been exposed. Yahoo has formally confirmed the password breach, but the online media company didn’t elaborate on whose passwords were exposed. (See Yahoo’s official statement below.) It does, however, seem highly likely that the exposed passwords mostly belong to Yahoo’s contributors themselves — i.e., the individuals who wrote material for either Associated Content or Yahoo.

One big hint: Quite a few of the e-mail addresses and passwords contain the word “writer.” I.e., usernames such as “legalwriter5@yahoo.com” and “honestwriter@hotmail.com,” and occasionally aspirational passwords such as “paidwriter” and the wistful “richwriter.” Not to mention umpteen-jillion instances of the word “writer” by itself standing in as a password.

So if I’ve never written for the Yahoo Contributor Network, I’m safe, right?
Possibly — but you never know.

In its official statement, Yahoo insists that the “file” the hackers “compromised” was an “older” one. (This statement itself is kind of suspect, since the hackers probably didn’t just steal a particular file. More likely, they repeatedly poked a Yahoo database until it started spitting out log-in credentials. But I digress.) The company claims that fewer than 5 percent of the Yahoo passwords disclosed are currently valid.

Which all sounds reassuring enough, except that no one with a Yahoo ID has any way to know whether it might have been compromised elsewhere within the site. And, of course, you won’t know until either a public-spirited group like D33Ds decides to publish your password — or you get hacked in a more malicious fashion. (You are free to believe that the hack of the Yahoo contributor network was an isolated incident, and maybe it was. But maybe it wasn’t.)

I get the sense you’re leading up to something. Go on.
Yahoo’s statement, however, is largely silent on the non-Yahoo ID credentials revealed in the D33Ds hack. The published file also contains a huge number of what appear to be log-in credentials for many other e-mail services, including Gmail (106,873 instances), Hotmail (55,148), AOL (25,521) and any number of ISPs (Comcast, Cox, Mindspring, etc.).

Presumably the premerger Associated Content allowed users to use e-mail addresses as their usernames, and Yahoo never forced users to change their log-in to a Yahoo ID. These days, in fact, Yahoo still allows people to sign into the contributor network via Google or Facebook IDs in addition to their Yahoo accounts.

All of which suggests that close to 300,000 people could have just seen their personal, non-Yahoo e-mail accounts compromised as well as their Yahoo accounts. They’ve effectively just dropped a trail of breadcrumbs to their personal e-mail, since they’ve identified the service, their username, and — assuming general laziness on the part of Internet users, which is usually a safe bet — their password.

Yahoo did say it is notifying these other companies that some of their users’ account information may have been exposed. Which is better than nothing, of course.

OK, so how do I know if I’m at risk?
To be on the safe side, if you have a Yahoo ID, you should assume it’s no longer secure and change it. (I just did, and I’ve never visited Yahoo’s contributor-network site until today.) Yahoo is also changing the passwords of affected users.

You should, however, also change other passwords if:

  • You’ve used the same password for any other major service — particularly for sensitive accounts such as banking, investing, or e-mail.
  • You’ve ever signed into Yahoo or Associated Content with a non-Yahoo e-mail address.

Yes, it’s a pain. But it only takes a few minutes, and the peace of mind is worth it. You really don’t want to find your e-mail account hijacked or your bank account emptied, do you?

If you’re one of those folks who likes to live dangerously, you can always call up the file of cracked credentials — just Google “yahoo-disclosure.txt” — and see if your e-mail or Yahoo ID is on there. (Alternatively, you can check your email address in this tool from Sucuri Labs.) But a negative result may not actually prove anything, and of course there’s no way to know if your password might have been cracked and displayed elsewhere — at least not until it’s too late.

So do the smart thing. Change your Yahoo ID password and any other passwords associated with e-mail addresses mentioned here. Don’t come crying to us if you play the odds and bad things happen to you anyway.

Where is Yahoo’s official statement on all this?
Glad you asked. It’s right here:

At Yahoo we take security very seriously and invest heavily in protective measures to ensure the security of our users and their data across all our products. We confirm that an older file from Yahoo Contributor Network (previously Associated Content) containing approximately 450,000 Yahoo and other company users names and passwords was compromised yesterday, July 11. Of these, less than 5 percent of the Yahoo accounts had valid passwords. We are taking immediate action by fixing the vulnerability that led to the disclosure of this data, changing the passwords of the affected Yahoo users and notifying the companies whose users’ accounts may have been compromised. We apologize to all affected users. We encourage users to change their passwords on a regular basis and also familiarize themselves with our online safety tips at security.yahoo.com.

Words Worth Repeating

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 9th July 2012

Good morning!

Anonz posted this last week and since there are still comments coming in talking about it, and because I think what was revealed to us is so important, I thought it was beneficial to post it again….and ya know there are newbies everyday just starting to read my blog, so just to make sure that no one misses this, here it is again:

Today I want to talk about something 99% of the world knows nothing about but it effects about 99.99% of their entire life.

I am referring to the LIBOR(the London Interbank Offered Rate). I will be using that acronym when referring to that something that effects 99.99% of your life.

The LIBOR is set a privately run organization called the British Bankers Association(BBA LIBOR) it is the cabal that sets the average interest rates that banks would be charged for borrowing from each other. We insiders often refer to it as bbalibor. I will shorten it to Libor.

Most Americans concerned about the financial rip offs banks get away with are fixated on the FED. They are referring to the Federal Reserve System which is a smaller version of Libor. By that I mean the FED is used by mostly american thieves to rip off other americans.

The FED is a private money making machine for a very few privileged families with the federal government acting as its printing press when those families want to make more money to spend.

They can do this because they have given themselves the unregulated power to control the amount of money that circulates in the United States of America.

They do this by ordering the USA to print more money whenever they think we(meaning they need to make more money), the citizens of America need lower interest rates or for any other reason they can think of.

That is the simple and irrefutable definition of the FED. They use many terms to describe how they get to that point but in the end it is always comes down to controlling how many DOLLARS those private families decide should be in circulation to give them the profit they want.

So the next time you hear talk about , monetary policy, supply of money, interest rates, federal fund rates, etc, all you need to know is that a few very rich families are manipulating the amount of US dollars they will allow to be in circulation to make themselves a few more billions. A fantastic way to steal with impunity if you can get it. I can and do.

Now before you start hating, let me use a tired but very apropos cliche. Don’t hate the player, hate the system. Of course it would mean more to you if you could say don’t try to change the players(thieves will be thieves) change the system(it is your government).

I entered the system not as one of those privileged families, if you only knew how many bodies had to pile up to gain one of those coveted seats…….

Once I realized that unless I could play at their table, I would always be a customer in their casino, I made it my goal to own stock in the only casino in town, regardless of the price. In this game of unlimited wealth potential, where wealth is the only consideration, the only thing any of the members fear besides losing that wealth is losing their life.

Since I was willing to play that chip, the only limit in the game was the body count. Suffice it to say, I won enough rounds to gain a seat at the table and a nice % of the FED. But in today’s logic, the new owners prefer to allow others to wear the crown, as long as they never forget who rules.

Yes, it is so true, that those who have the gold make the rules.

Although most americans think the Super Power in the world is the USA, it is not. The British are the power in this world. The USA is simply their enforcer, not unlike the Mafia’s goon squad. They do the muscle work for the British.

The reason is simple. The British once enslaved three quarters of the worlds population. I mean the British were a thousand times worst than the Germans because they gave the white man total dominance over the OTW for a thousand plus years.

They lost that control because they did not control the money supply of the world. Without that they needed man power, boots on the ground, to continue their control over their interest. Other greedy, white powers, capable of putting enough boots on the ground, were constantly willing to challenge the British for a bigger share of the wealth that resulted from the white man’s total dominance over the OTW.

Hence the real reason for all the wars up until someone gave Russia the secrets of making an atomic bomb was for control of all that wealth. After that boots on the ground meant nothing and Russia used the threat of supporting OTW nations with it if the Western white nations attempted to use their boots on the ground to suppress their uprising against white dominance of their nations.

The result was a flood of OTW nations gaining independence by rising up and throwing out their white oppressors. If as in the past other white Western nations(NATO) were to threaten to offer support to the oppressing white nation, the OTW nation could look to Russia who also had the atomic bomb for support.

The oppressing white nation supported by NATO was forced to back down and the domino effect of OTW nations gaining independence resulted. Check your history. No OTW nation gained independence from a white nation’s dominance until Russia got the atomic bomb.

Now you know why the West hated communism so much. The West worked very hard to instill in the conscious of the OTWs wherever they existed under their dominance or influence the evils of Communism. NATO has always been foremost a racist organization dedicated to the continuance of the white man’s dominance of the OTW peoples of the world.

Communism did not care about freeing the OTWs from that dominance, it was just the competing white man’s group for a bigger piece of the rewards that resulted from the white man’s dominance of the OTWs.

Unfortunately for both groups their competition provided an opportunity for the OTW nations to gain their freedom from both groups. Even OTWs who were minorities in such dominant white powers such as the USA were able to force their white oppressors to cede some of that absolute power over them.

The mighty USA could not afford the negative publicity that those freed OTW nations would receive from Russian news broadcast showing how the racist whites in America treat their OTWs.

The implication was obvious. If they did that to their own OTW citizens, what could those OTW nations expect from those white racists. Egypt lead the way with its defection from NATO.

Egypt made it perfectly clear to the NATO that it viewed the organization as a racist cabal dedicated to the maintenance and expansion of the white man’s dominance of OTWs around the globe.

Having lost the largest land army in the Middle East to the Communist, the NATO members informed the US, that unless they showed the world that the white man in America would respect the right to civil equality of their OTWs, the defections from NATO by the new independent OTW nations could lead all those nations wealth to go to Russia.

They made it perfectly clear to the US that they would not support the US in their overt dominance of their OTWs. The operative word was “overt.” So white america made the public gesture of giving their OTWs equality.

I don’t need to elaborate on that sham, most intelligent americans know the sham is still going on. We whites will never cede true equality to OTWs anywhere on the planet. We will only cede what they can take and KEEP.

I say keep with all sincerity. If OTWs become lack in anyway, we as a group are poised to take back whatever is available until we have it all back. Again if you are the OTW reading this, don’t hate the player, hate the neurosis that makes most white men feel the need to believe they are better than OTWs because of the color of their skins because that is what gives thieves live me the power to motivate those white men to follow our lead.

Those of us who use racism to motivate them, DON’T believe that crap. It is but a tool we use to continue looting the system. Rather than wasting your time hating something you can never change, take the responsibility to heed this warning and stay vigilant.

ALWAYS protest LOUDLY, regardless of the claim that you are playing the “race” card, any attempt to push back the rights you have won.

While I am on the topic of rights, you stupid, insensitive OTWs that stand with the white man when he is attempting to limit equality to Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transexuals, and females in general need to get a reality check.

You will not endear yourselves to us because of your ignorance, and bigotry. Remember a very wise saying; If you aren’t willing to protest when your neighbor is having his rights taken, who will be there when they come for yours to protest?

So if you can’t find it in your bigoted hearts to support them for the right reasons, then do it for your own selfish ones. Rest assured when we are done with them, we WILL come for yours.

That was long winded, I know. But if you don’t understand history, you are domed to repeat it. Now let me bring you up to date so you will understand that “something” that controls 99.00% of your lives.

So the original racists, the British looked around for another way to regain control over the all those now free nations. They concluded that since it was all about the wealth that was derived from controlling all those OTW nations, then they need only control the wealth of those nations.

Taking a page from the american thieves who invented a way to control the entire wealth of every citizen in the US with their clever private Federal Reserve System (FED), the British invented the British Bankers Association(BBA).

They needed a system like the FED had to control the money supply, not of a nation, but of the world. In 1984 they discovered most banks had invented a novel way of making money out of mere paper. They had eliminated the need to have real assets to back their investments, bets, gambles, or requests for loans from other banks.

The crooked bank owners had invented worthless pieces of paper to act as collateral for their debts. They called these worthless pieces of paper fancy names such as:
1. “Interest rate swaps”(An interest rate swap is a popular and highly liquid financial derivative instrument in which two parties agree to exchange interest rate cash flows, based on a specified notional amount from a fixed rate to a floating rate (or vice versa) or from one floating rate to another.[1] Interest rate swaps are commonly used for both hedging and speculating.) that would be the definition to read if you care to understand the bullshit used to disguise the con artist’s scam.

2.”Foreign Currency Options”(commonly shortened to just FX option or currency option) is a derivative financial instrument that gives the owner the right but not the obligation to exchange money denominated in one currency into another currency at a pre-agreed exchange rate on a specified date.[1] See Foreign exchange derivative.
The foreign exchange options market is the deepest, largest and most liquid market for options of any kind. Most trading is over the counter (OTC) and is lightly regulated, but a fraction is traded on exchanges like the International Securities Exchange, Philadelphia Stock Exchange, or the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for options on futures contracts. The global market for exchange-traded currency options was notionally valued by the Bank for International Settlements at $158.3 trillion in 2005.) again unless you are really interested in the definition used by a confidence man to fleece you don’t fall into the trap of attempting to understand the bullshit being used to scam you. It is a scam no more grand that the standard Three-card Monte.

3.”Forward Rate Agreements”(In finance, a forward rate agreement (FRA) is a forward contract, an over-the-counter contract between parties that determines the rate of interest, or the currency exchange rate, to be paid or received on an obligation beginning at a future start date. The contract will determine the rates to be used along with the termination date and notional value.[1] On this type of agreement, it is only the differential that is paid on the notional amount of the contract. It is paid on the effective date. The reference rate is fixed one or two days before the effective date, dependent on the market convention for the particular currency. FRAs are over-the counter derivatives. A FRA differs from a swap in that a payment is only made once at maturity.
Many banks and large corporations will use FRAs to hedge future interest or exchange rate exposure. The buyer hedges against the risk of rising interest rates, while the seller hedges against the risk of falling interest rates. Other parties that use Forward Rate Agreements are speculators purely looking to make bets on future directional changes in interest rates.) again study this definition of the thief’s scam only if you are interested in reading about how scams like “find the pea” in a shell game originated. It is the very same scam only here the pea is millions of dollars under that shell.

What I am telling you is the British discovered that a giant shell game had been invented by a few clever thieves to steal money from band depositors all over the world. So the British moved in to organize the scam.

Hence the British Bankers Association(bba) established a standard for those interest rates. Not unlike the Mafia Commission establishing the rules of conduct for international criminal organizations.

Hence Libor was born. It is the average interest rate estimated by leading banks in London that they would be charged if borrowing from other banks

Libor rates are calculated for different lending periods: overnight, one week, one month, two months, six months, etc., and published daily at 11:00 by the British Bankers’ Association. Many financial institutions, mortgage lenders and credit card agencies set their own rates relative to (and typically higher than) Libor.

This small group of thieves control the supply of money that is used by the entire world. They control the interest rate banks charge each other for loans, the interest rates the banks and other lending institutions charge you for loans, and the interest rates you pay on your credit cards.

So you see Libor controls 99.99% of everything you can do. What a racket if you can get it.

I have yet to become a bona fied member in good standing with that organization. The bodies are piling up, but they continue to hold out. Hence, the outing of the thieves by me.

Like the fence who is needed to act as a middle man between the thief and the goods he steals from you to convert those stolen goods to cash the thief can spend, there is another piece to this puzzle. That is a story to be told at another time.

*I*N*T*H*E*K*N*O*W*

Wonderful “Girls” Of The World

Good morning!

Last Thursday night my mother and I saw Eve Ensler’s play “Emotional Creature” at the Berkeley Rep Theater.  My mother had no idea what to expect, and although, I had an inkling, it was so much more than I expected.

As I sat waiting for the play to start, I took a look around and “just noticed” that 90% of the audience were women and girls.  I thought, “I know that is a play about girls but I really wish there were more men and boys here.” Yes, girls need to support girls but we have learned that we need support from the males living on this planet too. Males need to be awakened to the plight of women in this world , especially since it is the males on this planet that are inflicting such pain and abuse to women worldwide.

And really when you think about it, many women need to be awakened to the plight of women as well. My mother who refuses to even contemplate getting a computer ( and sometimes I don’t blame her :) reads the newspaper daily.  But unless an international story makes it to her local newspaper or local news, she doesn’t really know the extent to what is happening to women in other parts of the world. (I’m trying to get her hooked on MSNBC, the HuffPo, and so far I think it is working :) And like many when she does hear of something horrific happening to women, it makes her cry, she feels deeply. But then like many she gets back into her own world and it is soon forgotten.

Eve Ensler keeps the plight of women in our faces because these women cannot be forgotten.

In “Emotional Creature” she takes us into the intimate lives of girls and young women, here and around the world, through song and dance and very engaging monologues that ran the gamut of making me smile, laughing out loud, shedding a few tears, to sobbing deeply. The monologues talked of wanting to be accepted by other girls, to a young girl seeking out God to save her clitoris from being mutilated, to the imprisonment of young factory girls who mass produce Barbie Dolls.

One of my favorites was a scene in celebration of the “My Short Skirt”  – what it means to wear one, and just as important what it doesn’t mean.

All 6 girls in the play were on stage the entire time either interacting together or performing solo – they were all amazingly talented and inspiring and so believable you got lost in their emotions…joy, fear, relief….and truly believed what they were acting out were actual experiences that happened in their own lives. They are all Wonderful Girls of the World.

I’ll leave it at that and encourage you to go to the show with your girlfriends…and guy friends…and keep the plight of women in our faces like Ensler. I promise I’ll do my part to not ever forget about these women and girls…to continue to support them…until the abuse STOPS.

Howie: Welcome back. As usual you make quite an entrance. How are you?

I, like my readers, are waiting to hear more. I just HOPE that what you can tell us will help, so that we can get Tsarme back to avoid these major anomalies that will occur if Tsarme doesn’t return. I HOPE you and Al are doing well.

Mike, MT: Nice to see you here as well. Let’s HOPE that there is a plan to counter. How are you doing?

David: My pleasure. Happy to help.

Readers: With all the banter about Chris Rock’s tweet, He’s so right on – I say “rock on with the truth”. As always, the response from white America is the same same.

Peace & Love. Can’t we just all live it and give it?  Blog me.

Good morning!

Think Obama is happy about the SCOTUS ruling? You’ve got to see this to experience just how happy he is. This is priceless!

Readers: Don’t ya love it? I bet Michelle’s thinking, “Lay those moves on me baby!” I know I would be. And if you watched a little bit further (3:09), there was a nod to our alien friends as well.

Nicole: Yes, because if people really did think about others and their struggles to pay their medial bills, we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

Scott: I missed it – How was it?

Robert, rt: I wanted to say more yesterday but I had no access to my blog either. And when I did I was @ Peet’s on my playbook. I was about to post when I saw your comment, so I tried to add more to my write, which was almost impossible.

I wanted to add that whatever it was that you did to stand up and defend yourself, I just have to say that I wish that there weren’t any reason for one to have to defend themselves these days. But we all know that racism is alive and prevalent. And from what we read here, you are not one to just sit back and take it. It is one thing that I admire about you.

I understand we may not see much of you here anymore. Know that whatever you are able to contribute will be appreciated – know that you are a reason many tune in, including me,  to read your insightful comments and illuminating truths. I HOPE that you are safe and well –  I’m sending you my best. I am sure your friend thinks nothing less of you, understands, and wishes you the same and more.

Kelly: I believe that you are so right. When people are against it, it is “Obamacare”, but one it gets widely accepted and people are grateful that we have it, they will in no way want to give him credit. Sick but true.

Vincent: I am delighted that you have come to your senses. Now…time to work on the family putting aside their bigoted beliefs and get on the “Obamaboard”.

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Democrats: Sell Health Reform Now

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 29th June 2012

Good morning!

Well…yesterday’s ruling by SCOTUS was quite amazing. Justice Roberts surprisingly pulled through, thankfully. But I have to say big kudos go to the girls on the SC as well: Ginsberg, Sotomayor and Kagan,  the latter two appointed by Obama, let me remind you. I have to say this was a big win for the Democrats, as well as all of the American people, even if the stupid ones who are against Obamacare don’t realize  yet. The republicans are seething and I am smiling. :)

Obamacare / the Affordable Health Care Act survived. It is a historical victorious moment, and one that I am so grateful and proud of. We fought so hard for Obamacare and we prevailed. Congratulations Obama! Ha! His hat is certainly getting filled with feathers.

Speaking of benefits, just in case you’re wondering…just in case you are one of those that oppose, here are the benefits of the Affordable Health Care Act, and what it means for you. Watch a clip from Rachel Maddow’s show last night:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Listen to the full speech given by our president Obama:

Obama Responds To Supreme Court Health Care Ruling (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama praised the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision that his signature health care law was constitutional Thursday, calling the ruling “a victory for people all over this country.”

“The highest court in the land has now spoken. We will continue to implement this law,” he said, speaking to cameras in the East Room of the White House. “With today’s announcement it is time for us to move forward, to implement and when necessary improve on this law.”

The ruling is a huge win and a big relief for the administration, which spent 18 months and heavy political capital pushing health care reform through Congress. The president has had other achievements on the domestic and foreign policy fronts, but it’s fair to say that the passage of the Affordable Care Act was at the top of his list of accomplishments. That the court upheld the law’s constitutionality was almost as momentous as the law’s passage in the first place.

The political fallout from the ruling seems clear. Congressional Republicans and the party’s presumptive presidential nominee Mitt Romney have pledged to replace the law with a new set of reforms. And in the immediate aftermath of the decision, they reaffirmed their pledge to wipe the law off the books following the 2012 elections.

The president, for his part, used his address to detail the policy prescriptions within the law — an implicit recognition that the administration has done a poor job selling it to date.

“It should be pretty clear that I didn’t do this because it’s good politics,” Obama said. “I did it because it’s good for the country.”

The president also addressed the court’s decision to uphold the most controversial component of the bill, the individual mandate, arguing that it was essential to making the rest of the reforms work. He acknowledged that he himself had once opposed the idea, only to come around. The president added that conservatives, including Romney, had supported the concept in the past.

“We ultimately included a provision in the Affordable Care Act that people who could afford to buy health insurance should take the opportunity to do so,” he said.

********

Readers: I am so elated over this result. I’ll echo Maddow’s thoughts…with the presidential election coming up, the Democrats need to run with this win. Let’s keep Obama in the White House.

Thoughts? Start flapping your lips and blog this BABE.

Jack:  I understand about people not changing, but to stand by and not say anything to your friends making racist remarks about Obama or anyone else is just wrong. Preferring someone or thinking that someone is better because of the color of their skin is ridiculous and just wrong. I’m not saying that you have to love every OTW or condone what every OTW says or does, but that goes for anyone no matter what color they are.

So, if you friends are complaining about policy that is one thing, but calling Obama a Nigger, spook, etc., is just wrong, and in my opinion unacceptable. I see nothing wrong with sticking up for someone, not because you think it will change them but just because it is the right thing to do. When nothing is said, it is like you are accepting this kind of behavior, which is simple disgusting.

Irene: With respect to the Loch Ness monster, all I can say is “stupidity alive and well”. With respect to comparing muslim women and western women, that is like comparing apples and oranges. I just have to jump in and say that I agree with Zen Lill, Nawzad, and the others: There is no comparison.

Laura: How ignorant can you be? Being gay is not something to cure – it is not an illness….unlike what Michele Bachman claims, you can’t pray away the gay. What happened to god loving and accepting all? There is no “Love and accept all except…”. Love and accepting all means just that…love and accept all.

I’m with WC – we shouldn’t even be having this conversation. We should be “beyond that”. Unfortunately we’re not. And as much as serious things such as the plight of women, etc., are REAL issues to be concerned about, being gay and not be accepted is unfortunately a REAL issue as well. But hey, so much easier to resolve. All you have to do is “accept”…accept the preferences of others…live and let live. Easy. The plight of women…not so easy to resolve, and certainly the control, abuse, murder of women worldwide is unacceptable.

Doug: Are you kidding me? God loves and accepts all. It is you that does not. And you’re logic is twisted. You are comparing two consenting adults, whether it be a man and a man or a woman and a woman, loving each other…deciding to have sex with each other…and comparing it to incest? Wha’at?!

Nick: Right on. How can Peter say how you, a gay person feels…what is your state of being or not,  when he is not in your body and heart feeling what you feel? Aren’t you just sick and tired of people telling you how you should feel, how you should be, and assuming that you have a choice of this mode of behavior? When will people just stay out of other peoples lives and let people live how they want to live, especially when it has no impact on their own lives. Why do we spend so much time in other people’s business…in women’s VAGINAS, when they have no right to be there? How much less conflict there would be in the world if we just let people be…if we just loved our fellow world citizens a little more.

The comments are just deeply disturbing to me, when it is all so simple…so easy to just love, accept, and be amazed at the diversity and differences.

Juanita: Being in the fashion industry my entire life…believe me, I see what you say every day.

Zen Lill: Cute pants but with that kind of sizing I guess that leave me with no size that fits. :( That’s what we call “vanity sizing” :)

Social Butterfly: Thanks for the addition. And yes, I bet they were fun.

Amy: Succinctly said.

Robert,RT: You know how my readers and I feel about you. I HOPE you are OK.

I am having posting issues, so I must sign off and resolve.

Peace out.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers.
