Readers: Anything you have been “Just noticing…” that you want to share? Blog this BABE.
Bob: Nice to see a familiar personal blogger amongst the “from the desk of…” comments this morning. Love that word “frolicking”. Just saying the word makes me smile. And the story was cute too, although the cigarette part was a turn-off for me. But hey I’m not a cowpoke. I’m sure that little scenario is every cowpoke’s dream.
I don’t know about all of you, but the weather here is delicious and I plan on frolicking in it myself. Have a good one!

…that this is not the first time I have heard of someone referring to the “genius” inside of us as having one, instead of simply being one – a genius that is.
Confused at what I am saying? Let me ask a question and perhaps it will be clearer. In regards to a person that we consider a “genius”…do we consider him or her being a genius, meaning they are just naturally brilliant, or having a genius, meaning a divine magical being that would come and assist the artist with their work? Still confused?
Let me back track to something that someone once told me. I used to work in the film industry and I had an opportunity to work with Robin Williams on a film with a very limited crew. Contrary to belief, he was a very quite man, and during our lunch break I, and a few others, had the opportunity to hang with him.
He didn’t say much and then all of a sudden an inspiration would come out of no where. Williams would say a simple sentence that made us smile and then he was off…talking slowly first…and next thing you know he was doing a full monologue at record speed and we were all falling out of our chairs. And just as quickly as he began, he would end, and it was over. Silence. This happened quite often.
A friend of mine who was a channeler was involved with a group of mediums who studied Williams and his art. They used to joke that Williams was “channeling” when he was engaged in his comedy act. They could actually “see or feel” the spirit beings come and go. Now I think Williams is genius, so I was not sure that I believed that all he was doing was channeling, but the idea certainly was intriguing.
So this brings me back to my question: In regards to a person that we consider a “genius”…do we consider him or her being a genius, meaning they are just naturally brilliant, or having a genius, meaning a divine magical being that would come and assist the artist with their work? Still confused?
A few days ago I was turned on to a TED Talk that Elizabeth Gilbert gave last year in regards to creativity. She speaks of the peculiar rise of her “Eat, Prey, Love” book to bestseller status and how it has affected her life. Although she doesn’t speak of channeling a genius, she believes that we aren’t being genius, but that we have one. And why she believes it’s better to have one instead of being one.
I found it interesting and wanted to share her TED Talk with you:
Readers: What do you think? Are we genius? Or do we have one? And if we do have one, and our genius isn’t producing “brilliance”, is he/she just “lazy”, or are we the lazy ones not performing or tending to and cultivating our own natural brilliance, thegenius that we are?
Thoughts? Ideas? Blog me.
Lydia: I want more. I played that quite a few times. Yummy.
Peter: My pleasure. Happy I could assist. Hafa Adai.
Anna: What’s up? haven’t heard from you in awhile. I HOPE all is well. Hafa Adai.
A Friend: Nice to hear from you again. I understand your point, but it is hard for me to see it. And I don’t mean to be insensitive to your comment. I am familiar with that feeling of intimidation myself. And because I myself have and still do experience that feeling in certain crowds, I am pretty keen on intuitively knowing when someone doesn’t feel as confident in their surroundings, and I make it a point to create a level of comfort.
I feel that I am the same person as I have always been; just a bit more read than I used to be. I would just HOPE that you know me well enough to know that I am not a judgmental person. I look forward to being in your company, and having a conversation with you, as light or as heavy as you chose. :)
Florence: That question in regards to Obama goes through my mind ever so often. What I question even more so is “Does he even want to?” He is a man with incredible stamina, but how much can one endure and still want to go for round two? He is for sure a man who will fight for our country, for what is best for all, because he certainly isn’t reaping many benefits himself. But it’s never been about him has it? I don’t think Obama will drop out after the first round; I think he’ll go for it and if he does, he’ll have my support. And I think if he runs again, he’ll win it.
Zen Lill: No mother daughter relationship is perfect. It does take patience and work, but I do feel blessed with the relationship I have. There is still time for improvement in yours. Perhaps, if you have the desire, you will find a way. :)
Lorrie: I am moved by your words. Thank you. I am also surprised by them..by the fact that my blog has brought together so many women who were once strangers and are now deep committed friends. I love that. My blog is wonderful in that way. I take credit for starting my blog, I am the impetus…but this thing, this blog, this genius :), has a pulse of its own, and everyone is part of that pulse. So cool.
And your sentiments, “It can truthfully be said that your blog is the reason we are who we are. Women who have come together to help other women improve their lives’. Wow. What a proclamation. I am so proud. Not of myself but of all of you. It proves how powerful women can be (and are!), and what they can, and do do, when taking the opportunity, when in support of each other. Beautiful.
Your words are also an inspiration for me. I can visualize that my blog is the pebble in this huge ocean that continues to ripple out, indefinitely, touching people, moving people, motivating people, enlightening people….thank you. I wish the best for all you GIRLZ.
Lot of LOVE – Have a beautiful Sunday! Peace out…

…that when you do your research on taking a holistic medicine in hopes that it will replace a Big Pharma med, that you may have been prescribed or are thinking you need:
99% of the time if the research comes out saying something against holistic medicines, it was researced by someone who is against holistic medicines, and backed by the pharmaceutical companies.
Nidal: This is the “more” that I wanted to say the other day in regards to your comment on how we can trust what the medical industry sells us. This is what my doctor friend told me, whom I completely trust and respect:
You must check and see which pharmaceutical company is supporting the research of the medications you are taking. He suggest that you check to find out “who” supports the doctors that are doing the research for any particular drug you are using. If the doctors work for the pharmaceutical company and the study does not go the way they want it to go, meaning the research doesn’t support the drug they are trying to promote, they won’t be able to publish that article.
It’s quite simple and logical – Look at the resource. Who are the backers? He says that 99% of the time if the research comes out saying something against holistic medicines, it was researced by someone who is against holistic medicines, and backed by the pharmaceutical companies. Big pharma does not want the vitamins, and herbs, and minerals to work because they are selling “drugs”. They are always going to promote their products over anything holistic.
The well being of others is not necessarily their main concerns when it comes to profits. My doctor friend suggested that when you do the research you try to find companies that do the research overseas where Big Pharma doesn’t exist and you will get truer research results. He suggest that people check out Yamaha University in Japan – Look at the source. Who financed the research?
We have to think logically. Most of the ailments that we have today have been around for along time and there were solutions before there were “drugs” otherwise many people would be dead. Big Pharma gives chemically what we can do naturally. It’s not to say that all drugs are bad but one must know who is financing the research, and if the pharmaceutical companies are, you can bet they aren’t going to be saying anything good about holistic medications when they are promoting and backing “drugs”.
Readers: Drugs are huge in our lives. Every other commercial on TV and ad on the radio is promoting drugs. And more and more we are hearing reports of just how bad some of these drugs being sold to the consumers are. I found this to be very helpful and worthwhile to pass on. I HOPE that you did too.

Marilyn: I wish I was headed for Bali. I hope that you have a wonderful experience, and find what yu are looking for. Keep us posted. :)
Aberkios: I have been to your wonderful country and have visited many of the Greek Islands. But I have to say Mykonos was my most fave. I have such grand memories there…and dancing on the tables all night long was one of my most fond memories, of a time in my life where living day by day, beaching it, and having fun was the name of the game.
Zen Lill: I loved the eating too – the food was soo yummy looking…Oh and by the way, I do workout. A little yoga here and a little Pilates there…and now I have a trainer. I am back in the gym again. I thought I never would be but I love my trainer Allen, at The Present Body. My workout is a blast. He can train anyone in the world through skype, and he does – which I think is so cool. (Disclaimer: No kickbacks here either:)
Guys and Girls: Thank you for all of the compliments. Any girl, (not to mention her ego), would love the attention. I am no different. :)
Anonymous: Did you mean the Boss as in “Harry“? – No chance. I am not his type but I do love him big time. Good times yes, and there will be plenty more.
Mike: I bet lots of people loved that article. Me? I’m not much of a drinker at all anymore. 10 drinks a month would be pushing it for me. (Of course this doesn’t include my stays at Burning Man, where shots of tequila is the morning ritual, and the afternoon, and the… :)
A: Hmm…we are going back now aren’t we. Loved that car. Those were the days? Don’t get me wrong…they were fun…But I like where I am right now. I HOPE that you do too. :)
Stay healthy…peace out…

Though his parents previously vowed to get help, 2-year-old Aldi Suganda Rizal — the Indonesian toddler who caused a sensation in May when video footage of him smoking a cigarette turned up online — continues to indulge his nicotine habit.
CBS reporters tracked Aldi and his parents down in a tiny fishing village on the island of Sumatra. As if on cue, Aldi appeared, cigarette in hand, alongside his mother, Diana. The new footage is perhaps even more disturbing than the original clip. In several shots, the toddler — said to have started smoking at just 11 months — uses one already lit cigarette to light another.
“If he can really quit smoking, he will definitely be a very healthy boy,” Diana says. She noted her son is currently enrolled in a government-sponsored rehabilitation program, but continues to throw tantrums and even vomit when he can’t smoke. “I can’t stand seeing him hurting himself. What can we do but accept it as it is?”
Authorities have called Aldi “a victim of his environment,” as Indonesia is the only country in the Asia-Pacific region that has yet to ratify the World Health Organization’s framework on tobacco control.
Readers: Perhaps you have seen this before. It has been in my queue for awhile and today I decided to post it. I can’t “just notice” this one. This one deserves some judgement as this is truly disgusting. If this isn’t the worse form of child abuse I don’t know what is. And if ever a parent should be held for child abuse this is it.
Doug: My pleasure. By the way, speaking of our garden…do you think you could cut down that tall Bamboo in the corner? I think it would look better in our zen garden if the bamboo was “even” as you suggested. This is kind of fun communicating with you over my blog. It’s like that commercial where the couple is sitting on the couch and texting each other. :)
Peter: Hello….With all of the unemployed contractors out here and all of the work over there, I can’t imagine you won’t get an influx from the mainland. Hafa Adai.
Boys: Heed Peter’s words though: “Bring your best behavior.”
Bob: that one is too cute….puts a smile on my face with the visual. Thanks. Hope you are well.
Helena: How are you? Wow those stats are incredible – A prescription drug that kills more people than an Cocaine and heroine; illegal drugs combined.
I agree, get the drug companies to pay for it. They have to start being accountable. If they can just manufacture drugs and then throw them out there to the public without demanding any kind of mandatory training for these doctors who are going to prescribe there drugs, that is just lazy, uncaring and irresponsible. It seems the attitude the drug companies have is that once they manufacture these drugs, they market the hell out of them, make a ton of money, and then they get to wash their hands of any responsibility, should any issue come up. They can blame it on the doctor for prescribing it in the first place. Like the article said, “They’re making a killing.” Thanks for posting.
Hi Ruth: How are you doing? I like this too. And the lesson learned depends on how one looks at it. Thanks. I hope you and the girls…all of your girls are doing good.
Robert: I liked your opinion of the matter. Once again “racist” rights hiding behind the title of “religious” rights. And now they have to claim “deeply” religious because no one is buying their BS, so they need to take it to the next level…a “deeper” level of BS.
I notice how the racist whites can always twist things to their advantage. Another thing that came to my mind, being a designer, is how Angle can say on the one hand that the color black is evil, yet in regards to “fashion” the “Little Black Dress” or “LBD” is just so chic and sophisticated. A woman wouldn’t be fashionable unless she had a least one “LBD” in her coset.
And the same stands for a “Black Tie” affair. Now I don’t think she’d be calling her “LBD” or her husband’s “black” tuxedo “evil” now would she? Or if one attended a funeral wearing “black”, ”black” wouldn’t be considered “evil” but a sign of “respect”…expected attire from one who is “deeply religious”. – No “evil” attached to the word “black” in these cases.
Like you, and I, and others have said, racists just love to twist things to their advantage justifying their racist attitudes, by claiming to hide behind their “deeply religious” values. And most white media doesn’t call them on it. We need more reporters like Maddow and Olbermann in the media.
Oh “just noticing” that more comments have come in, and the racists are having their say. I’ve said enough. Hope you are well Robert.
Readers: What are you “just noticing”? Blog this BABE. Enjoy your Sunday! Peace out.
6:09 PM: Sorry. Just got home from a day in the sun and “just noticed” that the comments were off. The comments were on when I posted but it must’ve happened during the saving process when Doug pointed out a typo that I later corrected.

If you don’t want your “private moments” turning into a “public showing”, do not make plans via my blog. It is a forum that many…too many for me to even know…see and read.
That being said….
Carla: What happened? Your question makes me laugh. I think it’s pretty obvious…so let’s see. Perhaps because you announced that you were not going to wear any panties with your HOT RED NET, and so did Ursla. :) So of course the notion of girls not wearing panties on the dance floor would cause quite a stir not to mention, a buzz. My blog has a huge readership, and perhaps some of the staff at the Starlight Room reads my blog too. Who knows? I certainly don’t. I can imagine the upset from the guys on this blog over the fact that they didn’t get a chance to see you. :(
Guys: If you’re pissy, Carla and the rest didn’t show up, don’t be pissy at me. Not that I doubt that Carla was something to be missed, but there are plenty of panty-less women running around the Starlight Room and many other clubs in the city, if you’re looking to sneak-a-peak. Hey, to get in some clubs, there might even be the caveat that you must be panty-less. Try LA. :)
Oh speaking of…I was just having a little fun with regards to my deal with Harry. Please, if anyone believed that Harry would actually ask for panties at the door for a cover charge, they need to have their head examined. And I mean the big head, because it is certainly the little head that is wishing to BELIEVE.
Readers: My suggestion for the future: If you do not want to be bothered or create a buzz as Evelyn and Harris did when they were meeting each other in London, and now Jorge and Carla here in SF, do not announce where you are going to be, especially sans panties wearing a HOT RED NET. (That’s a nod to you Carla:), and I hope that you two, and all of your new friends had fun at the ___________, or wherever you partied.)
Let this be a warning. If you want to “hook up” in any way, shape, or form, and you plan to do so via my blog, be prepared for the consequences. I take no responsibility for your desired “private moments” turning into an undesired “public showing”.
I think I have said way more than needed to be said.

Tim: Thanks for the update. I had no idea that he ended up killing himself. Your sentiments are mine too. This is so sad.
Herbert: It’s been foggy here for the last two night, so our chance of seeing anything even without a telescope is impossible. Were you able to see the ‘”X”? Strange, except for the mention of The Emperor, I found a blog, Astrology Zone, that said the exact same thing in regards to the line-up of the stars, word for word. It was included in the August Horoscope for the sign “Leo”. For those of you interested in reading click here.
Norma: Thank you, but I must confess, it is quite an old photo. My beloved dog Bianca has been gone for over 5 years now. I still like the photo, but I may replace it soon with the one that I post here. Harry has been asking me for a more recent one that he can add to the wall. Happy that you had a good time. It is a beautiful room with a magnificent view. And the music is not bad either.:)
Anna of Guam: Hmm..I’m happy too that Guam is covered by the Health act. Hafa Adai.
Qalat: Thank you for that comment. Your point deserves to be heard and honored. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if America took that stance? It would be the first step, the beginning to something grand. Perhaps then we could say the same thing about foreign oil.
Yanci and Abby: Panty-less or not, I hope that you all had a fab time, kicking up your heels and your skirt. :)
Gretta: My pleasure. Well, I don’t know about anyone else, but California certainly is the place to be for me. :)
Joyse, Onile: Not sure how you came to find my blog, but I hope that you are both safe and well.
Readers: It was a lazy week…so that’s it for my observations. – How about you? What did you observe? C’mon, blog me.
