Unemployment Rate: Exactly where are we at?

Good morning!

S: Speaking of the urgency of the Jobs Bill, I found this article last week with respect to unemployment:

Jobs Mirage: 315,000 Drop Out Of Workforce, Driving Unemployment Rate To Three-Year Low

Despite a stark drop in the national unemployment rate reported Friday, economists warned it will take decades for the labor market to return to pre-recession employment levels if the economy’s achingly slow growth continues.

The U.S. economy added 120,000 jobs in November — falling short of economists’ expectations — while the unemployment rate dipped from 9.0 to 8.6 percent, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday morning. But roughly half of the decline in the unemployment rate came from the 315,000 Americans who dropped out of the labor market last month, in part a reflection of the slow pace of the recovery, economists said.

“When unemployment is this high for this long, it’s very likely that most of the people dropping out are doing so because they can’t find work,” said Heidi Shierholz, an economist at the Economic Policy Institute, who has studied the shrinking labor force during the years since the recession began. “There is some movement here, that’s true. But it’s just so slow.”

While November’s job gains roughly kept pace with population growth, a more positive glimmer can be found in the upwards revisions of the past two months of employment growth. Job growth for September was revised up to 210,000 from 158,00, and October’s gains were up to 100,000 from 80,000.

120,000 may not be 250,000 — the lowest number most economists look to for a really healthy recovery — but it’s also better than zero, the initial headline number of new positions created in August, when fears of a double-dip recession really began to take hold. In October, the number of new positions created in August was revised upwards to 103,000.

“We’ve got a modest acceleration and more employment growth then we saw over the summer,” said Nigel Gault, Chief US Economist at IHS Global Insight, a firm offering economic and financial analysis, forecasting and market intelligence.

Domestically, Gault said, things haven’t turned out as bad as people feared. But the global picture emanating from Greece and China looks darker. “At the moment, the U.S. is doing better than most of the rest of the world. But let’s say Europe drops into recession. How far and how long could we outperform them?”

Job gains came in retail, hospitality, health care and business services, with modest gains in temporary work — which can sometimes be an indicator of future job growth. Manufacturing employment — once heralded as the shining star of the recovery — has remained essentially flat since July. Meanwhile, state and local government continued to shed jobs.

The job gains are not coming in primarily high-wage industries, and annual average wage growth is not keeping pace with inflation. Worker in the retail sector — which had the biggest gains last month — pull in median hourly wages of $10.94 an hour, according to the Labor Department, and that sector’s growth is one factor that explains the 2 cents dip in average hourly earnings last month. Another key factor is that the weak labor market provides employees little leverage to bargain with their employers over pay, economists said.

Two million Americans have been out of work for 99 weeks or more — up from 1.5 million last November — according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The percentage of workers who are working part time but still seeking full-time work is also up from a year ago, according to a recent Gallup poll.

And the U.S. economy still needs to regain more than 6 million jobs lost during the recession — plus some 4.6 million jobs to account for population growth — to reach pre-recession employment.

It’s stark numbers like these that have led economists to dub the years since the Great Recession officially ended “the jobless recovery.”

“After previous recessions, hiring soared. What has come roaring back this time is profits. They’ve reached a peak,” said Gary Burtless, an economist at the Brookings Institute.

While many Occupy Wall Street protest camps have been cleared around the country, the income inequality that brought thousands of Americans to the streets since mid-September remains as strong as ever, according to this latest government snapshot. And even if job growth began to rebound in coming months, that income inequality, which has been growing for decades now, would still remain.

“Even if we could magically return to where things were in 2007 and the issues of the housing market disappeared, we would still have the three decades of cumulative growing inequality problems,” said Lawrence Katz, Professor of Economics at Harvard University.

Arthur Delaney contributed reporting

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this report incorrectly reported that net job growth was flat in August, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The BLS initally reported zero job growth in August, but revised that number upward in October to 103,000 jobs.

Anonymous: Sorry we didn’t get to say goodbye. Thank you for the compliment. I wish I knew who you were so that I could say the same. Doug is both of those and much more. You and most don’t know his true talents. See you next year.

Anna of Guam: It cannot be said enough that we as women need to stick together. But we need a few good men as well. Did I say “a few”? We need more than that in support of us.

A School Chum: Unlike you who is anonymous on my blog, I am not. Therefore, these lips are sealed. You’ll just have to keep wondering. I wish you had kept your sealed.

Doug: Interesting post. Did you watch the entire video? I would be curious to hear your thoughts.

Kerry: I’m delighted for you too!  Congratulations!

A Female School Chum: I asked my husband if he thought I acted as if I was better than other people, he answered, “Maybe it’s your tone.” So, I thought to myself, ” I’ll tone it down…Nahhh.”  I know I am no better than anyone else because I’m part of the 99% trying to make it like the rest of us.

Howie: Your points are well taken. Those are dangerous environmental issues on both accounts that will affect many above and below the sea.  I can’t respond about Japan except to say that I am completely appalled at their behavior, and no doubt the aliens are as well. It’s a very serious situation.

With respect to Vietnam and the Mekong Mainstream dam, this is as well. I support the environmentalists, along with the countries downstream that will be effected, as well as Hillary Clinton’s position in support of rejecting the erection of this dam. Clinton needs our support on this as well or this will be catastrophic. (Readers: Take note and write one.)

A Real Friend: Thanks. I HOPE not. You know the saying…”With friends like that…” Is that too harsh? Perhaps. That being said, I certainly do know who my real friends are, and I am grateful to have such wonderful friends.

Mamie: Again I get to say “Congratulations!” I would love to attend – thank you for stating your wishes. And for your support.

Zen Lill: Thanks for the link. I looked at the trailer and it is intriguing. Would love to see the rest.

GJK: You ask logical questions. I consider myself pretty damn progressive but we all know at this point in his term Obama is doing all he can do with the “party of no” in control – who, let me remind is partly due to those progressives who didn’t show up at the polls a year ago. Progressives need to realize that Obama will go balls out in round two. Until then, he needs to keep the votes he has or the second term won’t be his. But to think any republican will get done anything close to what progressives want is inane.

So..what’s up in your world? Blog me.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. HEART FAILURE PATIENTS: PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR BONES

Patients who have heart failure — meaning that their blood isn’t being efficiently pumped through the body — apparently have something else to worry about in addition to the fatigue, breathlessness and swollen legs and feet that characterize the condition.

Canadian researchers recently learned that older adults with heart failure have a higher risk for osteoporotic bone fractures — breaks that may occur even without a major accident or hard fall.

That’s unnerving, so I called study author Sumit Majumdar, MD, professor of general internal medicine at the University of Alberta, to find out what’s going on.

A BAD BREAK FOR HEART PATIENTS

This finding came from a preliminary study presented this fall at the annual meeting of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. Dr. Majumdar and his team examined patient records of more than 45,500 Canadian men and women, all 50 or older.

Of this group, 1,841 had been diagnosed with heart failure in the prior two years.

When they examined fracture rates after five years, researchers found that those with heart failure were 28% more likely to get fractures in the spine, hip, forearm or upper arm, compared with those who did not have heart failure.

What’s the reason? Researchers aren’t yet sure why there are so many more broken bones in people with heart failure, but Dr. Majumdar said it is likely a combination of these two factors…

To help control the swelling associated with heart failure, about 4% of people in the US take “loop diuretic” drugs and about 60% of the heart failure patients in the study were taking them.

Why the “loopy” name? The drugs work on a particular part of the kidney known as the “loop of Henle” — although they can actually make patients feel less steady on their feet and, well, loopy!

They also reduce bone mineral density (BMD), and they’ve been shown in previous research to be associated with increased fracture risk (probably because they’re diuretics, so they make you urinate more, which can cause deficiencies in calcium, potassium and magnesium).

So these drugs such as furosemide (Lasix), bumetanide (Bumex), and torsemide (Demadex) and ethacrynic acid (Edecrin) — might be a major reason for the fractures.

Heart failure itself causes bone to thin, though at present it’s not known why.

And that makes bones more likely to break — even without major impact. For example, a spine fracture can occur from simply rolling over in bed, said Dr. Majumdar.

BROKEN BONES: MORE SERIOUS THAN YOU THINK

Broken bones are problematic at any age, but they’re particularly dangerous for older adults. For instance, about 24% of patients age 65 and older die within a year of hip fracture.

And Dr. Majumdar told me that even a wrist fracture may land a barely coping elderly patient in a nursing home, since that sort of minor break leaves him/her unable to perform basic tasks and may require surgery.

“And these problems are magnified in heart failure patients, because they’re especially frail — it doesn’t take much to launch a downward spiral,” he said.

    BONE UP ON THE BASICS

One factor I mentioned earlier — bone mineral density (BMD) — is something to keep an eye on. Dr. Majumdar said it’s a good idea to take a BMD test because a low BMD measurement is a known risk factor for fracture in patients with or without heart failure.

“The BMD test is kind of like a mammogram — it’s not a perfect test, but it helps get patients into the doctor’s office to figure out whether there might be a problem,” he said.

Other signs that you might have brittle bones? Dr. Majumdar told me that red flags include any fracture after age 40 or a loss in height of two inches or more.

If you’re currently taking a loop diuretic to treat your heart failure (especially if you’re prone to fractures and/or have a low BMD measurement), you may want to talk to your doctor to see if there are any alternative treatments that you could try instead.

Another tip: Since a patient with heart failure tends to undergo many chest x-rays to keep tabs on his/her condition, a patient can ask his/her doctor to use these x-rays to look for spine fractures, because it’s common to have these types of fractures without realizing it, said Dr. Majumdar.

If nothing else, a patient with heart failure should take the same steps that a patient with osteoporosis would take, said Dr. Majumdar. Got milk? Hope so.

Through diet, supplements and/or getting a small daily dose of sunlight, make sure that you’re getting enough calcium (1,500 mg daily) and vitamin D (800 IU to 1,000 IU daily), and doing regular weight-bearing exercises (like walking, running, dancing or strength training) to build strong bones, said Dr. Majumdar.

  2. Abu Says:

To all you hateful westerners who proclaim your hate of Islam I say read this.
    ——————
In Sharia law a rapist is killed, so it’s clear the man your western reporters accused of raping Gulnaz, the woman sentenced to 12 years after being “raped” by her relative in Afghanistan wasn’t convicted of rape.

This story shouldn’t be reported as a rape when nobody was convicted of rape. Another thing, when a couple have sex in Islamic culture out of wedlock, they BOTH get punished.

Too many times these stories are relayed through the media to make it seem as if only women get punished.

Even then, they dont say the woman is punished for consensual sex, they just go with one side of the story and say it was rape because it makes Muslim men look barbaric.

Rapist in America go to jail but can be freed one day, in Islam a rapist is killed.

Women in Islam are revered, honored and respected, which is why they are taught to cover their bodies unlike other cultures where the women are conditioned to dress very scantily and in a very immodest way.

  3. Human Events Says:

A key Republican lawmaker wants the Obama administration to explain its role in allowing “Occupy Wall Street” protestors to illegally camp in a Washington D.C. park that was recently beautified with nearly half a million dollars in stimulus funds.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R.–Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, asked the Interior Department this week to explain why protestors have been allowed to camp in McPherson Square illegally and destroy the public property.

Issa, who has led investigations into White House connections to the Energy Department’s failed Solyndra loan and the Justice Department’s fatal Fast and Furious Operation, wants to know who in the Obama administration is responsible for the illegal camp and disruptive protests.

“This situation raises questions about why those decisions were made, who participated in making them, and whether political judgments played a role in not enforcing the law,” Issa said in a letter to Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.

Issa is demanding all communications between the National Park Service (NPS), Interior Department and the White House involving the Occupy DC protests be delivered to his committee by early January.

“While the merits of this stimulus funding are debatable, we can all agree that once the federal government had invested the funds no government agency should have allowed it to be damaged or destroyed when it legally could have been prevented,” Issa said.

“The NPS has an obligation to the American people to explain the decisions that were made regarding the Occupy DC protesters in McPherson Square. The NPS allowed the protesters to camp in McPherson Square and kill newly planted grass that had been funded by the stimulus,” Issa said.

According to the Park Service, the $400,000 in stimulus money was used for new grass, concrete curbs, refurbished benches, new light poles, paint, fencing, trashcans, light meters and water fountains.

Camping is not allowed in the park, but tents have littered the landscape since October and officials were recently forced to tear down a wooden barn-like structure built by the occupiers. Nearly 100 arrests have been made.

Federal officials have circulated flyers to inform protestors that camping is prohibited. However, the park service says the protest is more like a 24-hour vigil than a camp.

Police are starting to crack down on occupy protestors around the country clashing with the crowds in New York and California, and shut down a camp this week in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

Stay tuned to HumanEvents.com for more as this story unfolds.

  4. R. Says:

It would seem that virtually all discrimination against women has been institutionalized in our underlying political systems as they evolved out of the mysticism of ancient beliefs……….interpreted and written by religious scribes of all ilk across the world.

Religion is the riddle of human existence wrapped in the mysteries of the universe around the enigma of ‘invisible beings’ or forces that are touted by the ‘snake oil salesmen’ to control human destiny on a day-to-day basis.

Since virtually all of the prognosticators and scribes were male, it’s not much of a wonder that women got a supporting role rather than a leading part in the evolution of social norms :-)

Shocking as the concept may be to some, the sexual liberation of women is probably the key to unlocking the next step in the achievement of world peace :-)

Conservatives will fight it every step of the way, but they are simply wrong as they have been more and more as mysticism fades, and science dominates our understanding of our world and the perilous universe that it travels.

There may be a God-force out there somewhere, but there is not much doubt that it doesn’t spend much time, if any, thinking or worrying about the day-to-day existence of we humans. Just ask Howie.

We’ve got the means and we need to take control of our own destiny. That, my friends, is the 21st century message from the heavens.

  5. Hanan Says:

The woman Abu was referring to has been freed.
    ======================

A woman sentenced to 12 years in prison after being raped by her relative in Afghanistan has been freed, according to CNN.
    —————-
But her rapist, and he was a rapist has had nothing happen to him.

So Abu forcing women to suffer under that horrific so that weak men like you won’t lust after us is good for us because you respect us so much.

My answer is to “respect” me less in that aspect and respect me more by allowing to dress as I please and hold you and the rest of your ilk responsible for your lusts.

    Hanan

  6. DC Says:

Seems to me that in islamic culture men need a lesson in how to treat women and more importantly how to control themselves!

The women are covered from head to toe in order to keep men from looking at them, simply because the men cannot and will not control themselves.

Men have no way to deal with control issues as they feel superior and need to be in control of everything.

It would be great if the women of Afghanistan could come together and start their own war against the men that repress them and blame them for acts of moral misconduct!

That is a war I could support!

Maybe the Afghan men would change their tune and start respecting their mothers, sisters, wives, aunts, grandmothers, cousins, and all the other women they feel they are so superior of!

Caveman days are over, it would be nice to see the tables turned for these women and so many other women caught up in phallic superior cultures.

  7. Zen Lill Says:

HI Mischa, you’re welcome, I can’t wait to watch the whole thing myself, it sounds intriguing…

OH and I cannot tell how hard I laughed out loud I read ‘maybe it’s your tone’ uh, yes, it exudes confidence and women that can relate to that would never report that ‘you come off as better than the rest of us’ those with lower self esteem wish they could exude that type of egoless confidence that goes with the tone.

…and no offense to Doug, but any male with the same ‘tone’ have women drooling for their every word on any subject and if they happen to be smart all the more drooling (as Doug and RobertRt and Anonz may very well have noticed by now and their ‘tone’ can only be imagined here, their words must carry it all off).

though – I’m happy to report that I have a few males who got over it with my ‘tone’ and just engage without issue, they get it, some never will bc men just love to be the ones holding court…well my egoistic darling males, make way : ) bc there are some women of ‘tone’ coming your way ; )

I think your anonymous pal just wants to hang out with you more or may have wanted more of your individual attention, bc what was said was all about intention, and I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt. Jealousy is always about some (perceived or real) miffed or missed opportunity for affection/attention/love and I’m sure you were busy happily spreading the love around.

Unemployment rate is crazy and I’m doing my best to not go into total scrooge mode bc I am part of the 99% as well, no better, no worst : ) – although – everything I wanted to buy just happened to be on sale yesterday and so I justifiably raided Frederick’s 75% off sale – meooowww…!! Score!

    Luv, Zen Lill

  8. Kelly Says:

I agree with the assessments made above about islamic men. But many american men have similar problems. Many refuse to accept any criticism by women.

They threaten or pout or complain that they are not understood.

Most women in a relationship with men expect very little of them. We can and do support ourselves financially for the most part. We cook, clean and contribute to the financial income of the family while in most cases the man just comes home after his day at work and gets served by the woman after she gets home from her day at work.

The one thing women really expect from their man is his physical support in a crisis because we are the physically weaker sex.

Most men provide this without using that greater physical strength against their female companions. But some use religion or some other excuse to abuse, threaten and terrorize their female companions.

Many times the law doesn’t provide the security or assistance the woman needs to protect her from such abuse.

This happens all too often in America. So I say to Abu, you and your system sucks, but we are not letting similar abusers who are american men off the hook.

  9. Anna of Guam Says:

Peter, thanks for your article on the fire ant invasion. But it deserves more play so I am adding this.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++

Little fire ants have expanded their invasion to six local areas, but scientists believe the outbreak can still be contained.

The invasive ants now have been found in Yigo, Nimitz Hill, Piti, Santa Rita, Umatac and Merizo, according to a University of Guam press release.

The species, which threatens to devour native wildlife, was first found last month at a dumpsite along Route 15.

“Thanks to the rapid response of the public in bringing in ant samples to my lab, … we have been able to get a good idea as to where little fire ant populations are located,” UOG entomologist Ross Miller said in a press release. “The next step is to get a plan in place to contain it.”

Miller has said previously that the little fire ant has the potential to eradicate Guam’s small animals in the same way the brown tree snake wiped out the island’s birds.

The tiny ants are a nuisance to humans, but they are deadly to the island’s insects, lizards, ko’ko’ and even nesting birds, Miller has said.

According to the Hawaii Department of Agriculture, there have been reports of ant stings causing blindness in dogs and cats, and the insects also are a potential threat to newborn babies.

The Guam infestation makes it obvious that these ants are being transported by people, most likely inadvertently, the UOG press release states.

“It is necessary for the control of this ant that people stop moving plants, soil and plant material including banana, heliconia, coconut husks and fronds, and to be especially mindful if they are bitten by tiny ants when working in their yards or ranches,” Miller said.

I like much of what you had to say. Religion is the riddle of our existence touted by snake oil salesmen to control humans on a day-to-day basis.

The prognosticators and scribes were male. It was a Mens Club therefore they gave themselves control over Women, rather than the leading role.

We have got the means to take control of our own destiny, however it will be a difficult fight changing the traditions and rules that were beat into many of our heads by-men for-men over thousands of years — all in the name of God.

Politically, conservatives will use anything in their arsenal to keep it that way. In modern times Women and OTWs are second class. This must change for the human species to grow to our potential.

As far as God and the Universe, the big picture is as follows: the Universe is randomness seeking order, seeking randomness.

Humans are but a grain of sand in this universe. Our entire history and great achievements have only existed here for a tiny fraction of a second according to universal time.

  11. Doug The Main Dude Says:

    Michelle,
I so appreciate your precious time with me this morning. I also appreciate your kind words herein. I’m glad I asked for a sit down. You are my angel, I’ve known that since the moment I first saw you, and if I haven’t told you that in a while, I want you and the rest of the world to know that here.

I am proud of all of the work you have been doing and taking on, as I told you this morning. I am so very proud of the work you do here on the blog, it has made such an impact on the world, and I am so very proud of what you have accomplished.

I will get out of my own way for you, I promise.

  12. Leon Says:

Once an unemployed citizen’s unemployement benefits run out, that person is no longer counted as an unemployed American. The count is directly related to who gets benefits. If a person is not working and no longer collecting unemployment compensation, that person is considered to be working. This makes the actual numbers much lower than what is reported.

A screwed up way to get statistics……….Anybody?

  13. Natalie Foster Says:

Yesterday, the Congressional Progressive Caucus introduced a bill to help turn our economy around. It’s based heavily on the Contract for the American Dream—a plan that 130,000 of us crafted, and 300,000 endorsed.

Tomorrow, at 6:15 p.m. Eastern, we’re hosting a live streaming online forum about the bill—the 99% Act—with Congressional Progressive Caucus co-chairs Reps. Raúl Grijalva and Keith Ellison.

This is a great chance to hear from, and interact with, two of the leading progressive champions in the House.

Can you join in online tomorrow, Thursday the 14th?

    Yes, I’ll be there!

We’ll broadcast live from Washington, D.C., and you’ll be able to join in the discussion, ask questions, and see what others have to say.

Reps. Grijalva and Ellison will be joined in a roundtable discussion by two everyday heroes who have stepped up to speak out for change.

Tiffany Mellers, an unemployed Army reservist and mother of three, and Molly Katchpole, a 22-year-old recent college graduate who succeeded in forcing Bank of America to drop its monthly $5 debit card fee.

They’ll discuss how the 99% Act takes ideas from the Contract for the American Dream and puts them into a comprehensive bill for fixing our broken economy—from creating 5 million jobs in two years, to ending the war in Afghanistan, to a new tax on millionaires and Wall Street greed.1

  16. From the Desk of Anonz Says:

The republicans are planning on using the Judiciary Committee, a powerful circle of lawmakers that is responsible not only for intellectual property rules, but judicial appointments, bankruptcy law and scores of issues involving constitutional rights, to circumvent the Executive and Legislative Branches to enact laws they get paid to endorse but can’t get though the legislative channels.

The also plan to use it to cancel out laws that get passed they opposed. The courts will simply declare them unconstitutional.

  17. TT Says:

Actually the Patriot Act already applies to the internet...government can spy on your emails and get your search history, etc. all without a warrant.

  18. Robert,Rt Says:

Of course you are correct Anonz. They are hard at it with the STARK members of SCOTUS. I often wonder why we haven’t changed than acronym to SCROTUS it certainly would be truer.

SCOTUS – Supreme Court of The United States

SCROTUS – Supreme Court Run Over The United States

With the republicans and the Corps telling STARK how to vote the people of the US feel like they are constantly being hit by a bus load of rich people.

    Robert

  19. JD Says:

Republicans want small government that doesn’t intrude into people’s lives…... except when they want the opposite...

be it enshrining English as the national language,

getting involved in people’s reproductive rights, defining what marriage is,

deciding that a populace armed to the teeth is necessary,

putting religion at the heart of politics or clamping down on the last bastion of free speech.

“Small government” to a Republican means “to hell with the poor” and “hello Big Brother”.

What kind of creatures vote for these people?

  20. OY Says:

Corporate censorship and control by Act of Congress, directly killing the 1st Amendment of the Constitution. If effect, the Internet would cease to exist!

Don’t people realize that anything they do either via phone or computer would be at risk?

You would be sued for Millions just for online ordering a book or DVD from Amazon!! Since the publishers would assume that it is a fraud and take down Amazon and all customers with it.

This would be Standard Operating Procedure for millions of other company websites also, and the criteria would expand exponentially to complete and utter control of the Internet.

You would not be able to do much of anything without express permission from huge corporations that would sue you to the maximum over something completely trivial, with the blessing of the congressional critters.

Just open the door to the gas chamber, don’t trip on the sill and create extra work for us. The private prison industry is awaiting the millions of people that would be pouring into it.

  27. Brad Says:

  28. Jackie Says:

Better hurry over to watch that movie.Soon they will pass laws banning you from inviting friends over to watch a new movie you purchased.

They will claim since you are the one who purchased the movie, you are the only one licensed to view it.

  29. Another Real friend Says:

Your true friends aren’t like that Michelle. Those are just jealous women as Zen Lill stated.

I know from overheard conversations most were driven into that state by men making unsolicited and very poorly thought out comments.

Why women allow men to pit them against each other is beyond my reason. But you are certainly not the fault.

  30. Heidi Says:

Why is it that american men feel so free to announce their horniness on the net?

  31. Lex Says:

Could be because we are looking for some relief. What do men where ever you are from do when the Blue starts to spread?

  32. Heidi Says:

I’m from Latvia. Our men have hands.

  33. Lex Says:

We do too, but we only use them for first-aid. Now you could use your hands and that would be wonderful.

Sort of a new form of Hands-Across-the-Sea.

What do you say? Give it a try for world peace. I know I could certainly use a piece.

    Lex

  34. Heidi Says:

Jums ir viena piedauzīga dēls kuce.

    Does that help?

  35. Mary Says:

Who says republicans want small government? That is another of their lies.

They want a small government. Pfft! Yes, another of their big lies.

They want a governemt that controls almost every aspect of our lives. And they want a government that helps keep the people in power, in power.

Money talks. And if you dont have money the Grand Olde Party makes sure you dont get an invitation to the party.

  36. EADGYÐ Says:

    Thank you Doug,TMD:

The problem is that Obama hasn’t shown the will to call a bastard a bastard. I know for certain that if he didn’t feel that he needed the white boy vote to get reelected, he would be calling every other white boy one and the rest out for the inane, greedy minions they are.

But this is a principle that demands a stand. I won’t vote for Obama if he signs this bill. Why because he will be giving the sick white boy his stick back and you can guess who that stick will be used against.

So Obama if you are listening and word has it that you have this blog checked out at least once a day.

Veto that damn NDAA bill or You will be considered a piece of shit like the other 43. I wii not support you in anything you do if this is your gutless reaction.

    Robert,Rt

  44. Gwen Says:

What’s your opinion on the NDAA bill?

Howie, What’s your opinion on the bill?

Sorry Howie, when I put it in the first time this incompetent service Michelle has for her server refused to accept it by telling that I was posting too fast.
