Wassup? The Truth About Obama’s Tax Plan

Posted by Michelle Moquin on October 29th, 2008

I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. This video is so funny and the editing is brill. I’ve watched it at least a half dozen times and I still can’t stop laughing.  But hey, if ya can’t laugh at the state were in, although it is sadly true, then you really must not believe that ‘change’ is gonna happen.  I do and it’s funny shit like this that gets me through it. So…how does it end?…Well you just have to watch the video. Enjoy and laugh out loud – I did. Thanks for posting on Facebook Paul!

But on a more serious note ’cause laughing helps the soul and information helps the polls…McCain is still spewing lies about Obama  and his ‘plan to raise taxes’. He’s just gonna keep saying it, hoping that there are enough stupid people out there who will continue to listen to him…continue to believe his lies and punch his name come election day. But I’m here to push the truth, and the truth is, “Obama is not going to raise your taxes unless you make over $250,000. annual income’.

Barack Obama and Joe Biden will cut taxes for 95% of working families, and provide at least three times as much tax relief for middle class families as John McCain and Sarah Palin. The Obama/Biden plan provides $1,000 of tax relief for workers and new tax benefits to help families pay for college, childcare and save for retirement.

Got it?

If you don’t believe me go to ‘Tax Cut Facts’, and prove it to yourself.  It’s easy. Just enter in your income, marital status and number of kids on the Obama-Biden Tax Calculator, hit ‘calculate now’ and Voila!  The calculator will tell you exactly what your tax savings will be under the Obama admin, and what it would be under McCain.  Simple.  Now you have your answer and now you have no reason to listen to McCain’s BS any longer. Whew…that feels good, doesn’t it?

PS: Just on an added note….if you’re voting for McCain strictly because you make over $250K and you want that tax break, then get your self absorbed face out of your bank account and think about the country. And don’t give me the BS that McCain is ‘country first’ – we all know that is a lie. You know who you are out there.  Okay I’ve said my two. Rebuttal if you dare.

Madaline:  It has been a few days. How is it going?

Hi Zen Lill:  Misty-eyed? Mine were drops. But I can’t say that anything weird happened at the theater – Foot massaging….but Nope, no toe breathing that I can recall…Bummer. That is just too funny! :)

Hi Doug: I love your optimism.

Anonz: Maybe it is you who should write the book. I’m sure it would be a best seller. As always, thanks for the enlightenment. You have no idea….

Hello Shawn:  Once again, and for all of you thinking that it is I who is preventing you from getting in, it is not ME. I have no control who gets in and who doesn’t – it is a stroke of luck that you happen to slide in when ever you do. If I could ‘fix it’ believe me I would.

As far as introducing you to aliens? That will not be possible. However, if they want to find you they will. You left a perfect description- not that they would need one :-P. Hooking up with Doug and me? I am always curious to meet my readers, but I don’t think it is a good idea for me to inform you of where we will be. If you want to email me your contact info, we can take it from there. Cheers!

Peace & Love: Live it, Give it.

Do You Have a Short Fuse? Five Ways to Break the Anger Habit

    Brenda Shoshanna, PhD

Expressing anger at your spouse, your boss or the driver in front of you may make you feel more powerful and less vulnerable — but only for a short time. It rarely resolves feelings and often intensifies them. Over time, anger can become addictive. You don’t even recognize that you are angry or investigate why.

Even if you don’t outwardly express your anger, it can be destructive. Repressed anger can be a root cause of anxiety, depression, overeating and other problems. To reduce anger…
    1. GAIN CONTROL
The moment you begin to sense anger rising in you…
Regain your physical equilibrium. Stop talking, break eye contact with the other person and/or breathe deeply. Avoid personalizing the situation. That cashier isn’t just being rude to you — she is rude to everybody. If her parents, teachers and bosses couldn’t teach her to be polite, how are a few words from you going to change anything? It’s a waste of your emotional and intellectual energy to confront her.
Gain perspective by placing your anger in a larger context. Imagine yourself looking back at the incident a year from now. Would it matter?
Example: I had a patient who had a wonderful new wife. She had a habit of talking to her friends on the phone late at night. He felt she was taking time away from him, and he would blow up at her. The next morning, he would apologize profusely, but she was left feeling wounded. He had tried asking his wife to spend less time on the phone, but she felt he was being unreasonable. I suggested that whenever he was in a rage, he write down five great things he got out of their relationship. This helped remind him of what was really important.
    2. TURN A FOE INTO A FRIEND
Change your perceptions by thinking about what you can do to turn a perceived “enemy” into a friend.
Example: I had a patient who was furious because a particular employee of his kept showing up late for work. My patient saw this as a conscious refusal to be a team member and submit to the established channels of authority. I suggested that instead of reprimanding the employee, my patient ask what he could do to help the employee arrive at work on time. It turned out that the employee was a single parent who was struggling with child-care issues but was too proud to admit it. My patient altered the man’s working hours and earned an ally in his office.
    3. STOP OBSESSING
Anger builds when you dwell on an incident, playing it over and over in your mind in an obsessive loop. Instead, direct your mental attention elsewhere.
Example: One patient was a hardworking manager at an insurance company. He was convinced that his boss didn’t like him. The loop in his head kept saying, “You’re going to be passed over for promotion.” His resulting anger expressed itself in cold and distant behavior toward the boss. He turned down social invitations, kept conversations short and never smiled. In reality, his boss valued my patient’s work but was turned off by his curt actions. When my patient realized how he was fueling this negative situation, he changed his self-talk. He told himself that he was doing a fine job and that his boss recognized it. He also became aware of the boss’s needs and began to reach out to him and offer support. A promotion followed naturally.
    4. TAKE THE HIGH ROAD
Avoid responding to an insult with an insult. It only escalates situations and can inflict long-term wounds. Realize that the other person is probably acting out of pain, fear or weakness. Respond with, “What do you need from me right now?” This cuts through the other person’s anger.
Example: I worked with a couple whose arguments would escalate quickly and viciously. I suggested to the woman that the next time her husband insulted her, she not lash out but ask her husband what he needed. The next week, the woman agreed to meet her husband at a cocktail party after work. When she arrived, he snapped, “You’re late.” Instead of snapping back, she asked her husband what he needed. That stopped the argument cold. It turned out that he was angry because he had been uncomfortable waiting at the party alone. He didn’t feel as capable as she did in social situations. He wanted her company and the warm, engaging manner in which she met people. Simply communicating this diffused the anger between them.
    5. LET GO OF A GRUDGE
We like to nurture old hurts because it legitimizes our ill thoughts or bad behavior.
Example: One patient had held a grudge against her husband for decades. At their engagement party more than 20 years earlier, her husband had commented in front of the entire family how beautiful her sister looked that night, but he hadn’t commented on my patient’s appearance. She felt deeply hurt and thought that forgiving her husband would mean she was weak and lacked self-esteem. I told her that dropping the grudge would be healing, giving her the freedom and clarity to improve their relationship. How to let go of a grudge…
Think about times when you might have behaved in a similar way. My patient realized that she had hurt her husband’s feelings in the past by talking negatively about him in front of his own family.
Figure out what you need to do to release your grudge. My patient wanted her husband to acknowledge that she was beautiful to him.
Ask for what you want. Express your needs clearly. My patient discussed her grudge with her husband. He responded, “I think you are the most beautiful woman in the world!” After hearing that, her anger disappeared.

    Sir

Anonz is correct it is a formidable challenge. But we are on it. There may come a time when we have to balance winning some House and Senate seats over insuring the election of Obama. But I will balance and use my forces with your primary orders in mind.

    Sir
    Madaline

  3. Doug Says:

    Michelle,
    Thanks, I needed that !

  4. Anonz Says:

It is interesting that the continued decrease of the price of a barrel of oil is being attributed to the decline in the economy. If anyone will bother to track the slide of the price of a barrel of oil, he or she will see a direct correlation between the quick enactment of a law eliminating oil speculators from betting on the (speculating on a kind of oil option) future price of oil using the purchase of insurance contracts to guarantee that price.

OPEC is livid. They know that the price of a barrel of oil is about $20 more than it should be, but the crooks have shown them how to drive up the price independently of demand. They are now planning to manipulate the supply to stop the slide of the price and to push it back up.

If the Bush boys take back the White House, they won’t fear an investigation and they will allow the increase to enrich their pockets.

If Obama wins, he will be faced with an OPEC determined to use the techniques shown to them by the bush boys to artificially raise the price of a barrel. Many of the crooks managing the oil countries in the US are waiting to see how determined Obama’s administration will be about their manipulating the home supply and price of gasoline in the US. They do not want legislature enacted to govern their theft.

As to my previous admonition concerning the organized deprivation of voters by SS organizations in 42 states, one of many key suits to address the issue will begin in Colorado.

Colorado will argue that is is just following the rules set up by the republican US Senate and its own state laws to edit its voter rolls. The test will be whether the court will recognize the fact that the rules themselves are designed to allow the state to purge their rolls to eliminate the competition.

We of the RNC await the ruling to see if the judges we have placed will stand up to the people and rule in our favor. Michelle, this will be one of the key tests of Madaline’s ability to effect the ability of the RNC to continue their control over the election process on a federal level.

    Good Luck Madaline

In a way I envy the social freedom of the American girl. The Zen Lill and Anonz story makes me wish for the same opportunities for all women and men to find their true loves. I have been promised to an old friend of the family who lost his wife in childbirth. Where is my Anonz? My prince who comes and rescues me from my fear of being in a loveless union.

All the best to you Zen Lill.

Sheberghan, I am in hiding because I was forced to marry an old man who wanted a second wife. Run away if you can. We have a saying “trust in Allah, but tie up your camel.”

By all means pray, but do what you can for yourself to get out of this evil form of sex slavery. There are groups who help young women like you and me escape this sexual exploitation by the males in our families.

  12. Mehtarlam Says:

    Sheberghan:

Your use of “Ali” made me doubt your sincerity. But I understand the plight. My father has taken as his third wife a young woman two years younger than me. I have been teacher her against my father’s will how to read and write. Men keep their women ignorant to prevent them for imagining any other way of life.

She and I have become dear friends. She too used the term Ali. We are not allowed to use the net, but I have been educated in London and I am not so easily cowered. Her other two “sisters” beat her and make her do all the things they find distasteful. I weep for her at night. If I can leave this country for a western one that will give me political asylum, I am not coming back.

I have a very good system for keeping up with all the people who write in and the connections are suspect.

For one, I don’t believe their is a Doug. Michelle, you are a dike. So is Zen Lill. There is no daughter. You are using the concept of aliens to promote your hatred of men. I dare you to print this.

But you have gone too far. I hope you get yours.

  17. Doug Says:

    Gardez,
I will say this in advance of Michelle adding or editing something, that there are times when the computer translates things, and other times when it gets gobbled and becomes question marks. She does no censoring of the blog which might certainly be part of the reason that some may be watching. For those with similar concerns I will say that it is either a computer thing or some other powers that be that is doing something, such as sending money back from orders of mugs and shirts.

Perhaps your concern with your concern might more rightly be directed to the people in washington dc and what they may want someone to read or not…

  21. Zen Lill Says:

Sweet pea, lovely and poetic but what is the word you long to hear, babe? Tell me and I will say “______” you know that. What is it? Do you miss me or something? I’ve been busy and quite distracted, that’s the life that is Zen Lilly’s at the moment. It’ll pass…do you want/need more attention from me?

So, tell me, why oh why, did you have to remind me of your ‘modification’ hahaha, you horn/hone whatever you want just remember – it won’t get you out of the ZL ‘goddess worship’ classes, and its an on-going process, but trust me, babe, you’ll be asking for lengthy extra credit assignments.

And, um, it seems like the way you told off ‘addicted’ on my site that you still may be suffering from DSB, hahaha…mmmmm, so ornery, but I liked it…you have the fiery/spicy thing going on.

Connie, thanks for the back up, bc while I’m positive there are some pretty toes out there, anonz will probably prefer mine and I will probably prefer his : ) I like your flower analogy.

Robert, I’m ok with the lengthy gilding of the Lilly process between anonz and I, there are some very good reasons for it on both sides, extenuating circumstances if you will, but not to worry, we’ll meet in our own good time. But thanks for calling me Zen Baby, that was kind of sexy.

Although, anonz, my sweet pea, now that Robert brought it up, I’d like to suggest: get the face fixed soon and please defer Darfur, not me. Methinks my place should be at the front of your line, not last…

Sheberghan, no offense to religions of any kind, I don’t pray but your words make me want to pray for you. I wish you the best. I do wish you could experience some of the freedoms we women in the US often consider commonplace, I’m feeling humbled right now. I hope there is an anonz out there for you.

Tucker, have you missed something? Michelle and I are both dykes? Huh? I’m obviously into anonz, the honored sweet pea, a man if there ever was one. He doesn’t seem to mind that I have a child, why should you? And why would I make that up? Doug is ‘live’ and he’s a fine man and Mischa is gorgie and just as cool in person as she is here on this blog. Not sure where or why you would gather these ideas…? Are you angry about something else?

Anonz, since I know you’re reading, you might enjoy ‘Yes, I am the ‘American” Sweet dreams, sweet pea.

  22. Health Info Says:

CRITICAL FACT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR PROSTATE SURGEON

In surgery, experience counts — and now we have some real numbers to support that premise, thanks to a recent study that tracked the long-term outcome of prostate cancer surgeries against the experience of the surgeons performing them. The results were straightforward: The more experienced the surgeon, the lower the risk that the patient’s cancer would recur.
    RATING RADICAL PROSTATECTOMY SUCCESS
Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men, and surgical removal of the prostate is a common treatment, I was told by Andrew Vickers, PhD, lead study researcher and a statistician at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. The operation is called a radical prostatectomy. Dr. Vickers and his research team tracked a total of 7,765 patients treated with radical prostatectomy by one of 72 surgeons at four major academic medical centers. Many patients were followed for more than five years after the surgery to see whether their cancer came back. The researchers analyzed this information relative to the number of radical prostatectomies each surgeon had performed prior to each patient’s case.
The resulting “surgical learning curve” turned out to be a steep one that didn’t begin to plateau until a surgeon had completed approximately 250 prior radical prostatectomies, Dr. Vickers told me. The risk of cancer recurrence in patients operated on by a surgeon who’d performed only 10 previous prostatectomies was higher (18% likelihood of recurrence at five years) than in those patients treated by a surgeon who had performed 250 surgeries (11% rate of recurrence).
Prior to this study, the learning curve for surgery — meaning the concept that improved surgical outcome correlates with a surgeon’s experience performing that specific procedure — was largely theoretical. Now there’s evidence. If you or someone you know require radical prostatectomy, put yourself in experienced hands — specifically ones that have performed a minimum of 250 similar operations. How to find out? Ask.

Source(s): ??Andrew Vickers, PhD, a statistician and researcher at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and the lead researcher on the above mentioned study.
