Good morning!

Okay…so we all know that the republican’s spread lies about President Obama. They’ve been doing it for years and don’t think for a moment it’s going to stop. In fact it is getting to the point where almost every word that comes out of their mouths about Obama is a lie. Republican presidential candidates are even going against their own beliefs when they realize their views are the same same as Obama’s. Once again it is not about what is best for our country; it is all about getting the black man out of the White House. Plan on it getting worse as the months get closer to the 2012 election.

The latest, is that Obama said that “Americans are lazy”. This too is a BIG FAT LIE.

The below article s from FactCheck.org:

Lazy Rhetoric

Republican presidential candidates Rick Perry and Mitt Romney both claim President Barack Obama said that “Americans are lazy.” He didn’t. To the contrary, Obama has consistently and repeatedly praised American workers as the “most productive in the world,” a bit of boosterism he has repeated dozens of times. His recent words — “we’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades” — actually referred to collective efforts to promote foreign investment in the U.S., and not to American workers or voters as individuals. Perry and Romney simply rip those words out of their context in order to mislead.

Perry used the president’s words to lead off his latest campaign ad, called “Lazy,” which began airing on national cable TV as well as broadcast and cable TV in Iowa on Nov. 16.

The 30-second ad begins with a video snippet of Obama saying, “We’ve been a little bit lazy I think over the last couple of decades.” It then cuts to Perry saying, “Can you believe that? That’s what our president thinks is wrong with America? That Americans are lazy? That’s pathetic. It’s time to clean house in Washington.”

Perry first took issue with Obama’s words in his “Uproot and Overhaul Washington” speech in Iowa on Nov. 15:

Perry, Nov. 15: In recent weeks our president has taken to pointing the finger of blame instead of taking responsibility. He has called us soft and lazy, and he has said Americans lack ambition and imagination.

Mr. President, Americans aren’t soft or lazy, and Americans do not lack ambition or imagination, Washington has failed us.

Romney joined in the “Did you hear what he called you?” game in a stump speech in South Carolina the same day:

Romney, Nov. 15: Sometimes, I just don’t think that President Obama understands America. I say that because this week — or was it last week? — he said that Americans are lazy. I don’t think that describes America. Before that, I think it was in October, he was saying we have lost our inventiveness, and our ambition. Before that he was saying other disparaging things about Americans. I just don’t think he understands — he was saying we just weren’t working hard enough. I don’t think he gets what’s happening in this country.

Perry’s and Romney’s comments refer to three recent statements by Obama. We’ll start with the “lazy” comment, since it was featured in the ad and is the one most clearly distorted. It came during a CEO business summit Q & A hosted by APEC (Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation) in Hawaii on Nov. 12. Obama was asked about impediments to Chinese investments in the United States.

Obama, Nov. 12: Well, this is an issue, generally. I think it’s important to remember that the United States is still the largest recipient of foreign investment in the world. And there are a lot of things that make foreign investors see the U.S. as a great opportunity — our stability, our openness, our innovative free market culture.

But we’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America. And so one of the things that my administration has done is set up something called SelectUSA that organizes all the government agencies to work with state and local governments where they’re seeking assistance from us, to go out there and make it easier for foreign investors to build a plant in the United States and put outstanding U.S. workers back to work in the United States of America.

See that, Obama didn’t call you lazy. He said the U.S. has gotten lazy about promoting and attracting new business to America. In fact, he called you “outstanding U.S. workers.”

Onto Exhibit B. This one comes from remarks Obama made at a campaign event in San Francisco on Oct. 26. The context: Obama was making a pitch for further government investments in new roads, bridges, airports, wireless networks and other infrastructure.

Obama, Oct. 26: We used to have the best stuff. Anybody been to Beijing Airport lately? Or driven on high-speed rail in Asia or Europe? What’s changed? Well, we’ve lost our ambition, our imagination, and our willingness to do the things that built the Golden Gate Bridge and Hoover Dam and unleashed all the potential in this country.

And now, Exhibit C, the “soft” comment. It comes via an interview Obama did with Orlando TV station WESH on Sept. 29. Obama said it was “challenging” for young people coming up in the wake of one of the worst financial crises and recessions in American history.

Obama, Sept. 29: But even before the financial crisis hit, one of the reasons that I ran for president was that wages, incomes had flat-lined at the same time that costs were going up. I think people felt that opportunities were becoming more constricted for the next generation.

And that’s why making sure that we’re revamping our education system, making sure we’ve got world class infrastructure, investing in basic science, research and technology, making sure that we are moving manufacturing back to the United States, and that we are being tough with our trading partners — making sure that they’re not taking advantage of us. There are a lot of things we can do.

The way I think about it is, this is a great, great country that had gotten a little soft and we didn’t have that same competitive edge that we needed over the last couple of decades. We need to get back on track.

But I still wouldn’t trade our position with any country’s on earth. We still have the best universities, the best scientists, and best workers in the world; we still have the most dynamic economic system in the world. So we just need to bring all those things together.

So in this very speech, he calls Americans the “best workers in the world.”

In fact, we did a word search on “most productive workers” on the White House website and found Obama has used that phrase to describe American workers in 26 different speeches. In those speeches and others, he calls Americans “innovative,” “dynamic” and “hard-working.”

Here are a few examples:

    • “For all of the challenges we face, we continue to have the best universities, some of the most productive workers, the most innovative companies, the most adventurous entrepreneurs on Earth.”  – Aug. 8, 2011.
    • “We continue to have some of the best workers in the world, the most productive workers in the world. And we have the kind of dynamism and entrepreneurship in our economy that’s going to serve us well in the long term.” — Nov. 23, 2009.
    • “And we got the most productive workers on Earth. We’ve got the best workers right here in Elkhart — who are willing to put hard time and do whatever it takes to make sure a company succeeds.”  — Feb. 9, 2009, in Elkhart, Ind.
    • “For two years I traveled across this country. I met thousands of people — hard-working middle-class Americans who shared with me their hopes and their hardships. These are the men and the women who form the backbone of our economy. The most productive workers in the world. They do their jobs. They build the products and provide the services that drive America’s prosperity.”  — Jan. 30, 2009.
    • “We need to remind ourselves, we still have the most innovative economy in the world. We still have the most productive workers in the world.” — March 11, 2010.
    • “We have the most productive workers in the world, the greatest universities and capacity for innovation, an incredible amount of resilience, entrepreneurship, and flexibility, and the most diverse and creative population of any major economy.” — March 13, 2009.
    • “We still have, by far, the world’s largest and most vibrant economy. We have the most productive workers, the finest universities and the freest markets. The men and women in this room are living testimony that American industry is still the source of the most dynamic companies, and the most ingenious entrepreneurs.”  — Feb. 7, 2011.

We could go on, but we think you get the idea.

– Robert Farley

Readers: Even though Obama didn’t say that “Americans are lazy”, I’m going to say it. Because we are lazy when it comes to finding the truth. Information crosses our path so quickly these days, and lots of info goes viral. Lies go viral.  The above article is a perfect example.

Those that oppose Obama are going to ride this “Americans are Lazy” lie as far as they can take it. Many people believe that if they hear something enough, then it must be true. Another BIG FAT LIE.

So, my request from you is that we not be lazy.  Don’t believe everything you hear – especially if you are a regular viewer of FOX news. Yes, I know you tune in here too. FOX spreads lies. Do your home work – More importantly, put your biased (I’m being nice here) beliefs behind you –  Search for the truth.

In fact, I’m going to make it easy for all. I’m going to help you. In the right hand column I have added another link. It is the link for FactCheck.org. FactCheck.org is a nonpartisan, nonprofit “consumer advocate” for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics. They monitor the factual accuracy of what is said by major U.S. political players in the form of TV ads, debates, speeches, interviews and news releases. Their goal is to apply the best practices of both journalism and scholarship, and to increase public knowledge and understanding.

So…Whenever you hear something that just doesn’t seem logical, or even if it does, before you make a judgement…before you believe it to be true or untrue…check the facts – don’t be lazy. Use it. News travels fast and hard and we need to stay in  the know. We do not have the luxury of being lazy anymore.

Luke: Considering the republican candidates are pretty much all incompetent losers, I’d say you’re pretty right on with your comment.

Rose: My sentiments exactly! Love it. Activist, Dorli Rainey is definitely not lazy. As she says, “Time is of the essence”. She is so right. Thanks for posting.

Donna: Let’s HOPE enough feel the way that we do.

I’ll end with this…In the words of Dorli Rainey, let’s all go one step outside our comfort zone.

It’s Friday…

Peace out.

BREAST IMPLANTS: STILL QUESTIONS ABOUT SAFETY

The ongoing debate about the long-term safety of silicone breast implants — which were removed from the US market from 1992 to 2006 (except for breast reconstruction or to replace existing ones) — has reared up again.

It was revealed this year that two long-term studies currently addressing the issue have, so far, analyzed only a fraction of the women that they were supposed to be following.

The FDA, which regulates the silicone breast implants as medical devices, concluded this past August that they are safe when used as intended. But maybe the more accurate characterization would be: safe enough — as far as we know.

    WHY THE SUDDEN WORRY?

There are two brands of silicone gel-filled breast implants on the market in the US — one is made by a company called Allergan and the other is made by Mentor Corporation.

Data on how well women with these implants fare over the long term (for 10 years or longer) is scarce. So when the FDA approved the devices for use in 2006, there was a condition:

Each company was required to begin a 10-year study of safety data on 40,000 women who got their silicone gel-filled implants between 2006 and 2016.

Since it’s now 2011 — and both companies are supposed to be halfway done with their research — the FDA held a two-day meeting in Washington, DC, to get an update on their progress… and it’s not so impressive.

Over the past five years, Allergan has collected survey data on only 60% of the women that it was supposed to be following, and Mentor Corporation’s patient response rate is even worse — a mere 21%.

Therefore many fewer women are being studied than expected. One main problem is that women who are interested in participating in these studies are being asked to complete a massive, 27-page questionnaire each year following surgery.

MAKING SENSE OF THE DATA (OR LACK THEREOF)

Silicone implants are quite popular. In fact, in 2010, about 150,000 women got them in the US for cosmetic reasons. And based on what I know about human nature, I don’t think the woeful lack of safety data is going to hurt their popularity, especially since many women like their implants!

So why would I be concerned? If you follow health news actively — and don’t just wait for companies to report on the safety of their own products — then you know that not everything is peachy in the world of breast implants.

Lots of women have a great deal of trouble with them. I decided to bounce my concerns off someone who should certainly know — William Maisel, MD, deputy director for science and chief scientist with the FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health in Silver Spring, Maryland.

    RISKS VS. BENEFITS

Many medical devices and drugs that are FDA-approved, as we all know, carry serious risks. In the case of breast implants, Dr. Maisel readily acknowledged that they can cause problems that include scarring, pain, infection, a hardening of the tissue around them, and even rupturing —

which can cause silicone to leak into a woman’s body (that’s one of the reasons that they were removed from the market in 1992).

Past research shows that the longer a woman has implants, the more likely she is to experience complications.

In fact, one in five women who chooses to get implants for cosmetic reasons will likely need to have them removed within 10 years!

But all of those risks are old news and not enough to make the FDA keep silicone implants off the market.

“Not every patient is the same, which is why we always encourage patients to talk to their doctors,” said Dr. Maisel. After all, there is evidence supporting patient happiness, too.

In the FDA’s recent review of research, it found studies that showed that more than 90% of women with silicone implants are satisfied.

Plus, body image improves in the majority of women who receive silicone implants, and this feeling lasts for at least two years post-implant.

“Based on the total scientific data available right now, we believe that implants are safe and effective,” said Dr. Maisel.

Although there is a little bit of long-term data, the thorough research that we thought we were going to have in five years from Allergan and Mentor Corporation doesn’t seem likely to provide the big-picture information that doctors were hoping it would.

So what’s a woman who is considering getting silicone implants supposed to do, since aspects of the implants’ long-term safety are still largely unknown (and may be for a while)?

Simply put: It depends on how much of a risk-taker you are. Are there other implant options to consider getting? Besides silicone, the only other type of implant on the market is saline, but “saline implants have a similar risk profile,” said Dr. Maisel.

If you already have silicone implants, said Dr. Maisel, keep a close eye on them and schedule follow-up appointments with your doctor.

The FDA recommends that you have periodic MRI scans (three years after your surgery and then every two years after that) to help detect “silent ruptures” that you may not be able to feel.

So talk to your doctor about scheduling those tests — especially since Dr. Maisel said that many doctors don’t tell patients about this MRI recommendation.

Maybe it’s because MRIs aren’t cheap: An MRI could set you back $2,000 or more — and insurance may or may not cover any of the cost.

Also: Notify your doctor if you develop any unusual symptoms, like pain, asymmetry, lumps, hardness or swelling, because it could mean that your implants have become defective — and you may need to have them removed or replaced.

Now that the country has a President that looks to the needs of all its peoples, the whites who have been america’s affirmative action beneficiaries are mad as hell. Most want to return to the status quo where white abuse of OTWs is not reported because OTWs were unimportant.

  3. Anonymous Says:

You have so many people out there that vote party without any knowledge of what they are voting for and their only information is the vitriol spewed on Fox..

They have not really researched, and have hatred for this president throwing around words like Socialism, while not having a clue what it is..

America made a knee jerk decision in 2010, for which America is clearly sorry for.. They ran on the premis of jobs and have done nothing to create even one single job..

This will change.. OWS, at least brought the argument to the table, however you still have those that spit verbatum the vitrol directly scriped from Fox, which has admitted not being NEWS but an Entertainment show..

Big difference… If they only took the time to explore the internet which provides many un-biased news sources, they sadly don’t…They have hated and vowed this President even before he was elected, so what else can you expect..

  4. Dan Says:

Our former Congresswoman Carol Shea Porter (D-NH) NEVER accepted Business Pac funds. She was voted out in 2010 in the red tide. Its Reps. like her that we need back in Washington.

    Vote Dem. in 2012!

  5. Mike Says:

If Romney is going to be the choice, my question to you christian republicans is are you going to toss your religious beliefs aside and vote for a man pushing a cult religion?

The Mormons will use the White House to recruit. They are bigots so that should go over well with most of you. No doubt you can get behind that, but fuck jesus as you know him they have a whole new belief. They worship the words on some Golden Tablets.

They are not interested in your silly bible they have the script from that pedophile and murder Smith to follow in the book of mormon.

They definitely don’t believe in sexual equality so those of you women haters in the party have that to support, but hey fuck jesus as you know it .

Their jesus came to Utah to bless the taking of young white pussy(today, jailbait young pussy) for the men followers and all the women he could convince to be one as his wives he wanted.

All the wives they wanted and all the tender child pussy they wanted. Just sign and be a Mormon. Today of course they had to clean up the latter. Like the catholic church hierarchy, no woman has a place in the church except on her knees. However unlike the catholic church their elders regularly make that place on their knees work pleasurably for them.

No one really knows how many wives or pseudo wives a morman has because that is church business. So you women who follow lock-step behind your man better check this one out or you could end up following lock-step behind the new younger wife.

    Mike

  6. Larry Says:

The hate being spewed from Obama’s church he attended for 20 years no one cared.

  7. Irene Says:

Larry, I wonder if you recognized that same “hate” being spewed when you attended segregated churches before the civil rights moment?

To white america that was hate being “spewed.” Meaning it is only racial hate if it is a dislike of the shit the white race does.

I’m white and I married a wonderful Japanese man. All I hear at family reunions is snide remarks about how the Japanese treated American prisoners.

Nothing about how the people in my family that married germans should be concerned about how germans treated American prisoners.

It’s racism trying to hide itelf behind a reason to hate without being accused of being a racists. HYPOCRITES! And gutless ones at that.

I didn’t know how bad my race is before I married and father children by this fine American Citizen. When it comes to the narcissistic love of themselves and the willingness to believe that the color of their skin imparts some special something to them nothing can compare to neurotic behavior of the American white race.

    It is just so sick!

For your information the “hate being spewed from Obama’s church he attended for 20 years” was a reaction to the evil, segregation, hatred, rape, and murder they were forced to endure at the hands of the white race for 20 years.

Did you expect a race to smile and say thank you Mr. white man for making me a second class citizen in my own country? You are very lucky they didn’t have the power to rise up like the people in Libya and shoot all you Gaddafis.

    Irene

  8. MM Says:

I’ve listened to my mother and her Baptist friends discuss this. I’ve heard it discussed on TV and radio shows. It sounds like they “just can’t support” a Mormon nominee.

And the other candidates are spreading the word on Romney, what Mormonism is, etc. So, I don’t think it will be a Romney vs. Obama election. Also, Romney just isn’t conservative enough to suit the tea party crowd.

It’s a shame, because I’ve heard many people say that if the nominee isn’t Romney, they’ll vote for Obama. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top of the GOP primaries.

  9. TP Says:

What did we know about Obama while he was running for President? Can many of you name what religions the last President’s were? Didn’t think so! Can you name the religions of other Candidates as well?

We should be focusing on their traits as Presidential Leaders. I would vote for the best man for the job then his religion. No- I haven’t made up my mind yet who I’m voting for.

  10. Arby Says:

One of the reasons Obama is willing to send troops to Australia is that one of the aliens that survived provided a way for humans to reprogram their skin cells to make the cells perform as if they were embryonic stem cells.

The alien had to repair his damage and he requested that we remove some of his undamaged skin then he directed us on how to use equipment on his ship to regenerate those skin cells.

To make a long story short. The alien was allowed to leave but we retained the technology. Unfortunately some parts of the technology was stolen and taken to China.

Now China is all over Australia trying to steal the technology. So of course we appealed for help from America.

    Arby

  11. C Says:

The Koch Brothers and the leaders of America’s super wealthy don’t care what religious cult their president belongs to as long as he serves their interests.

  12. AM Says:

My issue with Mormonism is the demand of extreme loyalty and coercive influence religious leaders place on their congregation. To various extents, this applies to other organized religions as well.

The fact that Romney has served as a high-level religious leader is suspect as well of his capacity for independent thought that would not jeopardize his membership in the Mormon church and beliefs of afterlife consequences. Hefty determinates of choice.

  13. Donald Says:

Mitt has what the voters are looking for. His middle name isn’t hussein. And he’s WHITE.

  14. Van Says:

I’m still waiting for a debate moderator to ask Romney if he really believes that Jesus Christ was looking around the Midwest a thousand years ago for the promise land and picked UTAH.

Who the fuck was his real estate agent? I’s also a must to ask him why jesus kept the name when he changed himself into a white man.

Jesus that sucks for a white man’s name.

  15. Ellie Says:

Archeological problems that plague the Book of Mormon:(BOM)

One obvious issue is metallurgy. Per the BOM there were many wars fought using steel swords, some of which were patterned after the sword of Laban.

Yet no metal swords whatsoever existed in any of the places where people think the events in the Book of Mormon took place, except Jerusalem.

There were no metal swords before Columbus in Mesoamerica, North America, or South America. Metallurgy in these areas either did not exist or was not sophisticated enough to create such swords, not to mention steel.

At the time, these civilizations also did not use copper and brass breastplates such as those mentioned in the Book of Mormon (Mosiah 8:10).

The BoM claims that the people had sheep, goats, cattle, pigs, horses and elephants. No such livestock existed in ancient America during the time of the BoM, or else all genetic and archaeological trace of them has disappeared.

The Americas would then be unique in the world as the only place which had a reasonably large civilization raising pigs, goats, horses and cattle but left absolutely no evidence that they had these animals.

Also there is a great deal of artwork from ancient American civilizations depicting many different animals, but none of them depict Old World livestock as mentioned in the BoM.

  16. Ellie Says:

The Book of Mormon mentions wheat and barley many times. There was no wheat, barley or any plow agriculture among ancient American civilizations, yet the Book of Mormon claims these existed (there was eventual limited domestication of indigenous barley in what is now Arizona.

But the time and place of this occurrence makes it difficult to associate with Neophyte civilization). The BoM also does not describe the foods that we know ancient Americans did have – lima beans, squash, avocado and potatoes, among others.

  17. Anonymous Says:

You need to research what their church is about. We that just went to main stream christian church have no idea how much the are controlled by their church, the strange beliefs, what they would do for their church, what they really think of non believers, how much influence their church has, etc. We all need to get much more informed as Mormons become more and more influential in our society.

  18. RB Says:

Romney is running as a Republican and as such he has to get through the Bible Belt on the way to the nomination.

For the majority of Americans his religion is a non-issue, but the Republicans of the Bible Belt aren’t most Americans.

The Southern Baptists define Mormonism as an apostate cult and are as likely to vote for Romney this time around as 2008.

  19. George,WN Says:

Go ahead and argue all you want. But given the choice between a nigger named Obama and a white man named Romney, White people will pull the R lever every time.

  20. SL Says:

The irony here is that Mormon is being used as a negative.

The fact is Mormons as a culture and people (ethnicity really) are among the most stalwart and principled folks in the world. Mormons are beacons of good clean living and are upstanding members of any community they are in. Utah has the highest volunteer rate in the nation. The second pace state trails by double digits. Utah has the lowest incident of DUI fatalities, again by double digits.

If you go down the list, it turns out that the teachings and philosophies of the LDS Church are actually really effective at molding some of the finest citizens in the world. Mormonism should always be a major plus for a candidate, something to look for.

  21. Rosa Says:

That would be a major plus SL until the people find out the truth about Mormonism.

  22. Anna from Guam Says:

Looks like we have the potential for yet another invasion of critters.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Home Depot employee Rick Pereda displays a Noble Fir tree being sold at the Home Depot parking lot in Tamuning last year.

This year’s trees may be delayed as local officials try to determine whether the shipment also brings invasive bugs.

Christmas trees are back and so are the critters.

Yesterday, quarantine officers discovered three shipping containers sent to Home Depot contained trees infested with various insects, according to a Guam Customs and Quarantine press release.

“As a precaution, the three containers were resealed and samples of the insects found were sent to the University of Guam for further investigation,” the press release states.

UOG entomologists weren’t available for comment yesterday afternoon.

    Stowaways
This is at least the fifth time since 2006 that a shipment of Christmas trees sent to Guam has been discovered to contain stowaways, which could potentially become invasive species.

In 2008, a garter snake was found hiding in a Cost-U-Less Christmas tree, far from its home on the West Coast. The snake was harmless, scientists said, but it showed that Christmas trees presented a vehicle for other invasive threats.

In 2009, a non-native tree frog was found in another Cost-U-Less tree. Once again, the frog itself wasn’t particularly concerning, but it could have become a food source for the brown tree snake if it became established on Guam, scientists said.

According to Pacific Daily News files, inspectors also found a frog and a salamander in separate shipments of trees in 2005.

The art on your site is haunting, and I’m wondering what is the sound that goes with it? & how is it that you have heard it? I’d comment there but my personal info is already compromised, still, I think…though until I know I see no reason to test it out. Hope you understand. – ZL
