Rush, Don’t Fuck With Our Daughters
Posted by Michelle Moquin on March 6th, 2012
Good morning!
Guess I’m hooked on this subject. Except I like my title better. :)
Rush, Don’t Mess With Our Daughters
Rush Limbaugh took on more than just every young woman in the country last week when he called one of them a “slut” and a “prostitute”.
He also took on the parents of all young women.
And that is turning out to be a group you don’t want to mess with.
You know the basics by now — third-year-law student Sandra Fluke has been advocating that her school, Georgetown University, cover birth control as part of the standard health insurance plan, and Limbaugh decided that this somehow made her the above terms (I really don’t want to repeat them any more than absolutely necessary…)
The response was swift and furious, and, in a rare moment in a career of making people angry, Limbaugh was moved to apologize. It turned out to be one of those kinds of apologies that really isn’t, but, that aside, it was a sign that even he realized he’d crossed some sort of a line.
Most striking to me in this ongoing firestorm was not anger of the pundits (Maureen Dowd’s column yesterday, titled “Have You No Shame, Rush?” says it best) nor the tap-dancing of politicians who need his support (Santorum brushed off Limbaugh’s remarks as those of “an entertainer”) nor the delicious gotcha of journalists (Mother Jones pointed out that Limbaugh seemed to be confusing birth control pills — which one takes daily — with Viagra — which one only takes per, umm, encounter — because he accused Fluke of having so much sex that she couldn’t afford her pill supply.)
No, what resonated most was the statement of David Friend, the president of Carbonite, which is one ofeight sponsors who have abandoned Limbaugh so far (among those is AOL, the parent company of The Huffington Post.) In announcing yesterday that his company would withdraw its sponsorship Limbaugh’s radio show, Friend made it clear this had gotten personal :
No one with daughters the age of Sandra Fluke, and I have two, could possibly abide the insult and abuse heaped upon this courageous and well-intentioned young lady. Mr. Limbaugh, with his highly personal attacks on Miss Fluke, overstepped any reasonable bounds of decency. Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse.
Friend was not the only one for whom this was the final straw, an attack on a young woman who could have been their own. It certainly was for Jessica Scott, a career military commander — and mother of two daughters — who launched the hashtag #iamnotaslut on Friday, and watched it go viral. Later, on her website, she explained, that, like Friend, her motivation to act came from her girls:
You may call me many things but that does not negate the things I call myself. You could call me a Mom, because I have two beautiful daughters who I want to grow up knowing their full potential is between their ears, not their legs. You could call me Soldier, because I love wearing my nation’s uniform and it is an honor to serve. You could call me Author, because I managed to write a book that people read. You could call me a Wife, because I’ve been with the same man for fifteen years. You could call me a Friend because I’m there, for laughs or for tears. Any of those things define me so much better than the singular hatred of calling me a slut because I use birth control.
But go ahead. Call me a slut. It doesn’t make me one.
At about the time that Scott was posting, Fluke was in the green room waiting to be interviewed on MSNBC when she received a phone call from President Obama. “As the father of two daughters,” his aides later explained, he had been moved to contact Fluke. What did he tell her? Here’s how she described the call a few minutes after she hung up:
He encouraged me and supported me and thanked me for speaking out about the concerns of American women What was really personal for me was that he said to tell my parents that they should be proud. And that meant a lot because Rush Limbaugh questioned whether or not my family would be proud of me. So I just appreciated that very much.
Fluke assured Andrea Mitchell that yes, her parents had in fact already told her they were proud of her.
This parent is too, Sandra. Very proud.

Thoughts? Oh..it’s Super Tuesday. Wonder which LSOS will pull into the lead. Any guesses? Blog me.
Peace out.

Dealing with Tardy People
You get to the theater at 8:00 pm on the dot, just like you and your friend planned—but he’s nowhere in sight. Then it’s 8:10 pm…then 8:20…and then finally you receive a text:
Sorry, running late! (As if you didn’t know!) Since your friend has the tickets, you both end up missing the opening of the show—and even though he apologizes endlessly, you still feel ticked off a week later.
Because after all, this isn’t the first time that he’s been tardy—not by a long shot.
Late people! If you have one in your life, you know that this selfish habit can drive you nuts. Unlike in high school or in the working world, there are no automatic penalties for being late to social gatherings.
To get some good ideas about how to cope with this oh-so-annoying behavior, I called life coach and regular Daily Health News contributor Lauren Zander, who has advice on how to stay calm when it happens and to make your friend or loved one realize just how much his carelessness affects—and aggravates—you.
HOW TO REACT TO LATENESS
Chronic lateness doesn’t bother everyone, but it upsets some people a lot. Assuming that you are one of the latter, here are the steps to take…
Step 1. Explain to the friend who pushes that lateness button that this habit really bugs you. The truth is your friend actually might be oblivious to how his/her actions make other people feel.
You might try saying to him, “I know you’re really busy, but it frustrates me when you’re late, because…” and then explain how your friend’s lateness has negatively impacted your life.
This conversation might help solve the issue. If it doesn’t, it will definitely put this person on notice that chronic lateness really is an issue, and if it continues, you’ll have an easier time discussing possible next steps with your friend because you already laid the groundwork.
Step 2. The next time your friend is late (and he will be late again!), stay mum. But when it happens again after that, have another chat. Mention that he has been late twice since the two of you talked about it, and then start a discussion about ways to handle the problem that will reduce your stress and encourage promptness in him.
This may involve a penalty of some kind. For instance, you might agree that the tardy person pays for the wine or dessert at dinner as a consequence of being late. Or you could make it clear that from now on, you are starting the activity on time with or without the late person.
(And you should start handling your own tickets instead of relying on your friend!) Another effective option is to name an amount of time during which you will stay put at your meeting place—maybe about 20 minutes—before you simply leave.
If you actually follow through on your agreement (and your friend realizes that if he doesn’t change his ways, he won’t see you anymore), then it’s likely that the lateness will stop.
Step 3. If you try one or more of the techniques above and the lateness still doesn’t end—and you still want to be friends with this person—your next move is to plan activities more selectively so his lateness is less likely to cause anxiety.
In truth, this decision can be a little sad because it means that some activities that you have enjoyed together in the past, such as going to that show or having private time for coffee, will have to stop.
Instead, you will do only things that are not time-sensitive or that involve more than just the two of you. These could include group dinners out…inviting three or four friends over to your place for drinks…or getting together with a group for a game of poker.
That way, if your friend is late, you’ll be with other people and it won’t matter nearly as much. Maybe someday he’ll reform, but if he doesn’t, his lateness won’t cause all that stress that it used to—and that could be good for both of you.
Of course, if none of the above strategies work, consider gently encouraging your tardy friend to see a psychological counselor, who might be able to help him or her break the bad habit.

I’m very tired of my gender being the target of male angst. Both verbal and physical.
Our society does not respect us.
Hate jocks like Limbaugh routinely denigrate females in order to help themselves and their listeners feel superior.
It seems the best way to sell something is to feature a young, child-like female with a “come-hither” look.
Businesses routinely exploit female workers, in hiring, promotion, and workplace culture. Schools continue to shove females to the back of the agenda, elevating males (a la football team, a la coach making more than the principal) to the forefront.
And in most families, women continue to shoulder the lion’s share of the burden of keeping house and of caring for children, the sick, and the elderly.
And don’t get me started on laws regarding domestic abuse and rape of females. We should allow abused women to legally defend themselves by engaging in preemptive, premeditated acts of self-defense. Instead, we consider women to be criminals, who prevent further attacks by killing their abusers. And since most women have family responsibilities to which they are strongly committed (unlike many men, who seem to be able to just walk away), as much as they may be capable of such acts of self-defense, they choose to abide by the law.
So, I am encouraged by this groundswell of lashback against someone who makes his living attacking females.
Ladies, let’s keep this spirit alive!

The government is made up basically of white men who quite cheerfully pay for almost everything medical that men want or think THEY need. The way to fix that is to elect more women.
We ought to have more than half because we make up more than half of the population, so let’s get busy and vote for female candidates in the upcoming primaries.

I honestly can’t fathom how many people are in line with Rush’s comments. What I don’t understand about this whole argument is how people are saying “We don’t want you to pay for sex!” WE’RE TALKING ABOUT INSURANCE. People who PAY premiums every month and those who probably don’t use their insurance on a regular basis except for the use of birth control every month. Get it, Rush? Most contraceptives are purchased once a month or once every several months, unlike your male counterparts who use condoms every time they engage in sexual activity.
If employer provided, health insurance should be considered part of a compensation package, so they would *not* be getting it for free.
They work for it, and they participate in paying for it, so why is everyone else so concerned with what health care people pay to cover themselves with?
What a backwards country we’re turning into.

My daughter is the antithesis of Ms. Fluke. My daughter understands that there are consequences for all her actions and decisions AND assumes responsibility for all of them.
My daughter believes in the the laws of the land and that you get what you WORK for… not what is handed out to you. My daughter understands the difference between “Equality of Opportunity” and the “Equality of Outcomes”. My daughter understands that cancer is a disease, not a pregnancy.
MY daughter makes me proud to be a parent.
March 6th, 2012 at 8:21 am
A rather dishonest article, I think. Rush did NOT call her that word because she is having sex, but rather that she wants free stuff in return for having sex!
That IS the definition of “prostitute”, when a woman wants someone else to pay for her having sex! Rush did NOT call all women such, merely those who, like Fluke, think that they deserve free stuff from government!

BTW, in 99.9% or more of modern warfare does not require brute strength. Physical fitness, skill, and training, yes, but that’s not the same thing.
Women as a group do very well in tasks like precision rifle shooting (sniping), field medicine, driving vehicles, and piloting aircraft. Women are often have great hand-eye coordination AND fine motor skills, and are good multi-taskers. And unlike the popular trope, well-trained women tend to keep their wits about them in crisis situations and are good spontaneous leaders in the face of chaos. And, female civilians often will talk to and cooperate with a woman soldier before they will a male soldier. And women are organized and thorough at “desk jobs”.
So don’t give me that “wish you were a man”.
Maybe you’re just projecting your own wishes or fears?

Good morning from our nation’s capital! 10 states go to the polls to vote today, and many questions remain about Mitt Romney’s candidacy. Will he be able to resonate with conservative voters in dark red states like Tennessee, Oklahoma and Georgia?
Can Romney’s spending in Ohio (he’s spent $1.3 million on TV ads alone) push him over the goal line in the battleground state that is a MUST win for Republicans in November? All of those questions are answered by Tony Lee and John Gizzi today in their respective preview stories. Both are must reads for all you need to know about today’s votes.
Also, John Hayward reports on a story that broke early this morning that private intelligence company Stratfor has e-mails saying that Osama bin Laden was not actually buried at sea, but was flown by a CIA plane back to America. The e-mails, obtained by WikiLeaks (thanks to Anonymous, a large group of international computer hackers), suggest that the body was brought back to Dover Air Force base and then “onward to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda.” It’s a great story that you must follow. Expect fireworks to come from this one.
With that, it’s time to get to it, and if you are in a primary state today, make sure you do your civic duty and go vote!

Rush Limbaugh has gone too far with his attacks on Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke, calling her a “slut” and a “prostitute” and suggesting she post video tapes of herself online having sex.
Rush Limbaugh’s radio show is a part of the Clear Channel lineup, and it’s time that they no longer allow Rush Limbaugh to spew hateful and derogatory comments. That’s why I created a petition to Clear Channel on SignOn.org, which says:
Sandra Fluke, a law student at Georgetown University who was advocating for health insurance plans to cover the cost of contraception, became the target of a series of attacks by Rush Limbaugh.
Besides calling her a “slut,” he also called her a “prostitute,” said that he wanted her to make sex tapes and post them online, and speculated that she only had a problem paying for contraception because she was having “so much sex.”
We who support Ms. Fluke find that this is a serious offense committed by Mr. Limbaugh, and we ask that his radio show be terminated.

Michelle, I am a white woman who takes her relatives to the polls. The car is often full of political talk. The amount of ignorance one hears is stunning.
“Fiscally Responsible,” that is a talking point you hear from the republicans in my car so many times. The thing that becomes obvious after only a few times is that they have no idea what they are talking about.
They use those words and other talking points as if they understand what they are talking about until you ask them something about the talking point that would illustrate understanding.
Immediately, it becomes obvious that they are clueless about any of the talking points they are uttering.

This isn’t the 1950s, it’s 2012. Why we’re debating a woman’s access to birth control is beyond me.
Yesterday, the Senate voted down an attempt by the GOP to let employers opt out of providing any medical service they personally objected to — but the bill was really drafted to let them opt out of covering contraception.
Of course, Democrats in the Senate stood strong.
But right after the vote, the bill’s sponsor, Senator Roy Blunt, said, “I’m confident this issue is not over.” House Speaker John Boehner immediately backed him up, saying, “It’s important for us to win this issue,” before hinting that he’d put it to a vote in the House.
This fight is definitely not over — and we need to stand up for the women and men whose access to care would be denied if the GOP has their way.

Anon #8,
A quote just for you, and you’re welcome (and don’t worry, you’ll get used to it, just as all men will) and here it is…
‘In the long run, Women’s Liberation will of course free men — but in the short run it’s going to COST men a lot of privilege, which no one gives up willingly or easily.’ – Robin Morgan
We sure do not have a twisted bizarre anything going on but thanks for offering up that thought. I think LG covered the rest of my point so I won’t reiterate, thanks, LG.

Republicans don’t care about debt or deficits (except during black presidencies). When you look at their military spending proposals and the implicit cost of their war plans, they don’t care about the size of government either…though they’re creeping in a better direction lately. Heck – republicans don’t even REALLY care about social issues. Most of them, at least.
Republicans seem to only care about cutting taxes for the rich. That is their only concern. I admire their single-mindedness. I really do.
March 7th, 2012 at 3:44 am
Making a big deal about Rush calling that woman a slut is just the kind of misrepresentation liberals use to distract from the real issues.
Contraception is available and legal for all women in the United States. Liberals want YOU to pay for it and call that anattack on women. Whatever happened to ‘sisters doing it for themselves’.
Liberals want the government to pay for everything for the irresponsible people in our culture. It’s about time women stepped up tyo the responsibility that comes with the freedom and authority they want over their lives.
SHAME on Carolyn Maloney and all other enablers who wants to keep women and wards of the state.
March 7th, 2012 at 3:46 am
Howie, I knew you had a genuine apology in you. Welcome back. We all make mistakes.
Yours was no better that any other.
March 7th, 2012 at 3:47 am
Excellent. Run on that theme – that Republicans say “Women are irresponsible!” “Women want it free” – print that up on yard signs – put on bumper stickers on your car – have Mitt proclaim it from the hilltops – just make sure that you let folks know that it is the right wing Republican mantra.
Democrats happen to understand that this country has evolved a system where you typically earn your health insurance coverage through your work – their labor – not Rush’s handouts – creates the wealth that pays for that coverage. And that the woman along with her doctor – should determine what measures they should take to protect their health – not you – not Rush – not the Church. And for those who are young – or disabled – or disadvantaged – or retired – we have devised a system we believe is far better than leaving them in the street to die – as the crowd at that Republican debate seemed to be cheering for.
So make it clear – you are conservative – you think women are irresponsible – you want to let them die to teach them a less. Put GOP in big letters on those signs. See you in November.
March 7th, 2012 at 3:50 am
What I find particularly heinous though is the number of conservative women here and in politics who directly reap the benefits of women’s rights and equality, and yet fail to understand those benefits, to the point where they actively collaborate with the men who are trying to control our bodies and take those rights away.
March 7th, 2012 at 3:52 am
KM, it’s the conservatives who are making this an issue. This was something that was settled decades ago and now they want birth contol to be harder to get and more expensive to buy.
Not only that but by pushing for “personhood amendments” in some states, which if passed would effectively ban some types of birth control.
Women and men who use birth control are taking responsibility. Don’t try to make it harder for them to obtain it because you oppose certain types of birth control or you don’t like it that they are having sex with no intention of procreating.
March 7th, 2012 at 3:55 am
How sad that so many women are proud of this 31 year old agitator who disgraced herself by groveling before Nancy Pelosi, begging the government to order her university to violate their principles and provide free birth control when there are 3 clinics with free birth control within walking distance of the school. I
t’s also sad when so many women can’t recognize a DNC plant when she crawls out of the gutter to advocate for more government intrusion into our lives.
Ladies, it looks like Obama done played you again!
March 7th, 2012 at 4:01 am
Enough is enough this fluke has had her time in the limelight!!
Now go back fluker and do what you do best I am sick of hearing about your problems!!
BTW who do you think you are to refuse an apology, you should apologize for wanting free birth control when its ONLY 9 bucks at walmart. As I remember you said you pay $60,000 to go to school thats not so….
Sure Obama thanked you he also embraced OWS then he NEVER said another word as they are distructive kids led by the unione and every eval liberal wanting to cause trouble..Other things are important the your $9.00 birth control..
Soon you will be gone not to be heard from ever again!! This is nothing but a liberal political trick because Obaama over stepped when he wanted Churches to cover birth control..
March 7th, 2012 at 4:04 am
And the majority of the women “upset” about this are probably going to vote Obama…”just because”. Which means they are being rather stupid.
But hey…Rush apologized, what more do you want? Oh…like all liberals…conservatives who make mistakes are not allowed to be forgiven for it FOREVER!… while liberals who make mistakes are forgiven right away and nothing more is said.
I have two daughters college age that I”m sure stack up very well when compared with Ms. Fluke. One she didnt need to go to Congress to complain about the COLLEGE not funding birth control.

How You Can Stand Taller As You Age
Here’s a simple antiaging trick that will make you look and feel much younger (and costs nothing at all!)—stand straight and tall.
Unfortunately, as you age and your muscles get weaker, this becomes more challenging. But fortunately, I have a solution for that—it comes from Joel Harper, a well-known personal trainer (Dr. Oz is a client) in New York City who has developed a posture-perfecting routine that builds strength all over your body, takes just 10 minutes a day and delivers a noticeable improvement in posture in just a few weeks.
Not sure whether you need it? Here’s a test… With your back against the wall, slide down to sit in an imaginary chair, legs bent, heels directly underneath your knees and thighs parallel to the floor.
(If this makes you feel uncomfortable or unsteady, don’t try to slide down this far—you’ve already learned that you could benefit from Harper’s routine!)
People with reasonably good posture can easily rest the back of their heads and shoulders against the wall in this “chair” position for one full minute…so if you can’t, you’ve got work to do.
When I spoke with Harper, he shared three pairs of stand-tall exercises for Daily Health News readers, noting that it is important to always begin each pair with the first exercise (as listed below) and then follow it with the move that stretches you—that will elongate your muscles and bring about lasting change.
Do each of these three pairs in a row every other day for two weeks. These aren’t the easiest exercises in the world—but then, realistically, the easiest exercises in the world aren’t going to fix your posture!
Of course, if there’s any chance that trying new exercises might not be safe for you, check these with your doctor first.
Posture Pairing #1
“Field Goals” to strengthen your shoulders. With your back against a wall, stand with feet together and raise your arms at your sides to make a “T.” Then bend your elbows and raise your forearms, forming a 90-degree angle with your palms facing forward and fingers spread.
Now lower your hands to make your forearms horizontal—and repeat this last motion, both sides at the same time, 25 times. Resist moving your elbows. Keep your shoulders relaxed, not shrugged.
You can add a balance component to this exercise by slightly lifting your heels as you do the arm movements and/or pump it up by adding three-pound hand weights.
“Chicken wing” to stretch your shoulders and upper back. Standing up straight with your stomach pulled in, put your left hand on your left hip, fingers behind you. Now reach your right hand in front of your body to grasp your left elbow and gently pull it toward your stomach.
That’ll stretch the left side of your arm, upper back and shoulders. Hold where you feel the stretch and take five deep breaths…then switch sides and repeat. If one side is tighter than the other, repeat on that side, with the goal of eventually making both sides equal.
Posture Pairing #2
“Rickety Table” strengthens the back, arms and glutes. Get down on all fours on a padded surface, with your fingers spread apart, making sure your hands are in line with your shoulders and your knees with your hips.
Keep your back flat and parallel to the floor. With your left arm slightly bent (so you work the muscle, not the joint), reach your right arm straight forward and your left foot straight back, stretching them as far away from each other as possible, aiming to keep your right hand one inch higher than your head.
Hold for 25 seconds. Work up to that amount of time if you can’t do it at first. Or, if this move feels too easy, then simultaneously lower your right hand and left foot (big toe) to tap them on the floor and then raise them back to horizontal position.
Repeat this 25 times, then switch sides. An even more advanced version is to tap your elbow to the opposite knee (instead of tapping your hand and foot on the ground) and then return to parallel position after each tap.
“Elbow circling” releases tension and stretches muscles in your shoulders and neck. You can do this either sitting or standing. Put your right fingertips on top of your right shoulder and your left fingertips on top of your left shoulder and then touch your elbows together in front of you.
Keeping your fingers where they are and looking straight ahead, make large circles toward the outside of your body with each elbow simultaneously.
Inhale on one circle on a count of five and exhale on the next count of five. Do six circles in that direction, and then do six in the opposite direction. This is great to do if you sit at a desk all day.
Posture Pairing #3:
“Side-lying kick” strengthens the oblique (side) abdominal and leg muscles. Lie on the ground on your left side, stretching your left arm above your head so that your left ear rests on your arm.
Keeping your stomach taut and resisting rocking, bend your left knee to a 45° angle with your heel in line with your spine. Lift your right (straight) leg three-feet directly above your left foot…then tap your right knee lightly on the ground in front of your waist.
Then lift your leg back up, straighten it and kick three feet in the air above your left foot (or as high as you can). Do this sequence 25 times and then switch sides.
“Airplane stretch” for the hips and legs. While seated on a straight-backed chair or stool, put the right side of your right foot onto your left knee.
Rest your right elbow on top of your right knee and your right hand on your right ankle. While keeping your back straight, gently lean forward. Look straight ahead.
You can increase the stretch by using your left hand to gently turn the sole of your right foot to face up. Hold for 30 seconds, taking deep breaths. Switch sides and repeat.
If you find that one side of your body is tighter than the other, then you should repeat on that particular side in order to create balance.
A FINAL TIP
Harper asked me to share one more bit of advice. He said that an easy way to keep your posture picture-perfect is to always try to keep your gaze straight ahead:
“It’s almost impossible to have bad posture if you keep your eyes at eye level.” It’s a simple trick I’ll be keeping in mind as I go about my day, looking and feeling great! I hope you will, too.

People on Guam I come to you with yet another scam. Computer hackers have stolen a list of personal contacts out of two local community members’ email accounts. Adding to the severity of the situation is what these hackers do with the information.
The scam artist selects one of these addresses and sends an email imploring for help through means of an emergency monetary donation.
This is a serious threat to consumers because they are in the belief that they are receiving a distressed email from a relative, close friend, or colleague.
The following emails were sent to two separate consumers from an email address on their contact list:
* “Hope you get this on time. Sorry I didn’t inform you about my trip, because it was impromptu. I had to be in Spain for a program. The program was successful but my journey has turned sour.
I misplaced my wallet on my way to the hotel which contained some cash, credit cards and my cell phone. Presently my passport and my things are been held down by the hotel management pending payment.”
* “Please, I need you to help me with a loan of 2,450 Euros to pay my hotel bills and to get my sorry self back home. I’ve been to the embassy and police, but they are not responding to the matter effectively.
I will appreciate whatever you can afford to assist me with, I will return the money back to you as soon as I return, let me know if you can be of any help ASAP. I currently don’t have a phone where I can be reached .Please let me know immediately.”
* Hope you get this on time, I made a trip this past weekend to Malaga, Spain and had my bag stolen from me with my passport and credit cards in it.
The embassy is willing to help by letting me fly without my passport, I just have to pay for a ticket and settle hotel bills. Unfortunately for me, I can’t have access to funds without my credit card.
I’ve made contact with my bank but they need more time to come up with a new one. I was thinking of asking you to lend me some quick funds that I can give back as soon as I get in.
I really need to be on the next available flight. I can forward you details on how you can get the funds to me. You can reach me via email or May Field Hotel’s desk phone, the numbers are: +349524034361 or +349524074344.”
Attorney General Rapadas warns the community to immediately change passwords to email accounts or any other online account that has private information; hackers have likely figured out the password.
“Make your passwords complex and difficult; add lots of numbers and symbols to protect your accounts from what is called dictionary attacks, which automatically checks your password against a list of standard words,” warns AG Rapadas.
According to an article on CNNMoney.com, the number one way hackers get into protected systems is by guessing the password. Easily guessable or entirely blank passwords were the most common vulnerability.
The article also states that the most common password used on business systems is “Password1″ or some variation of it.
It is popularly used because it satisfies the complexity rules for many systems, including the default settings for Microsoft’s widely used Active Directory identity management software.
Oftentimes, once an email address has been compromised, or “hijacked”, the scammers control the situation and can easily access a name from your address book to legitimize the scam operation.
Consumers should take caution when someone from your contact listing sends you an email asking for money. Telephoning the individual is the best form of verification to confirm that the email you received truly came from them.
“Do not send money until you have telephoned the individual who is asking for monetary help. If you are unable to get a hold of them, call their children, husband, or employer to confirm if the distressed email is true,” said AG Rapadas.
Consumers are asked to report any such emails to: Bernie Alvarez, Consumer Advocate for the Office of the Attorney General at 475-3324 ext. 171 or to email the information to: balvarez@guamattorneygeneral.com

Yes, there are free clinics where you can get birth control by giving a donation, though Fluke was making the point that the health ins policy she paid for should cover it at a reasonable cost and NOT get to choose whether they cover it all based on some employers random or specific belief system.
Why women and Fluke in particular, should have to explain this is ridiculous. And I’m sure that moron Rush had some rethug men yelling YeeHaw, yep women who take BC are sluts, prostitutes, blah blah blah…and they want their health insurance to cover their sluttiness??? Right on, Rush…UGH, this was all just more mind bombardment bs for women to take in and then reign themselves in from having any sexual relations at all (unless their married and trying to procreate) bc otherwise they may seen as a ho (as if it’s anyone’s biz who they are doing what with, men never explain their sex lives, why should any woman have to explain hers, just take precautions and use protection and carry on, and men/women, be discreet in your dealings).
It’s birth control/contraception/family planning measures, what part of that is so hard to understand, no one asking for your tax payer dollars to pay, they just want their own insurance policy to carry what they need to live life – responsibly – and not have to change their lives and support babies they didn’t want to begin with, that is the choice they are making either temporarily or permanently. Men bitch about supporting babies they didn’t want and when a women steps up to actually take care of it using preventative measures, this is what she gets for bearing the responsibility?
And why is the fury from conservative women making the debate for them (women) to be responsible for themselves, hello, they are, they want to use birth control so they can plan for when they want children or not. What do they need to do for GOP men (and their women) to stay out of it, stop taking birth control, overpopulate the US and go on the dole before rethugs rethink their stand on the matter. Abortions are rarely used as a form of birth control, though the GOP would love for you to believe that’s what women do regularly as if it’s just a quickie off the cuff decision. It is a matter of insurance that’s paid for covering women’s needs, not govt/tax dollars.
Stay out of women’s body issues the same way you stay out of men’s issues, insurance covers most if not all costs involved in a vasectomy procedure and that’s certainly birth control related, no one questions that, now do they?
