Good morning!

Although we all know it to be true, the evidence is clear. Just why did it take over 1 month to release this video evidence that Zimmerman was not injured by Trayvon Martin? And why is Zimmerman still not arrested? Everywhere people are petitioning, gathering and standing strong, fighting for justice and still nothing has happened. This just makes my blood boil.

Trayvon Martin Case: Police Video Shows No Blood, Bruises On George Zimmerman After Killing

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

Newly released video of George Zimmerman at the Sanford Police Department the night he shot Trayvon Martin to death show the neighborhood watch volunteer without blood on his clothing or bruises on his face or head. His clean-shaven picture seems to contrast with the violent beating he told police he endured at the hands of Martin, 17, who Zimmerman said attacked him from behind.

The video, obtained by ABC News, appears inconsistent with Zimmerman’s recently leaked statement to police that he was in a death struggle with Martin before Zimmerman shot him in the chest in self-defense. Zimmerman told investigators that Martin jumped him from behind, punched him in the nose and pounded his head into a sidewalk, according to a police report first described by the Orlando Sentinal.

In the video, apparently taken by surveillance cameras outside and inside the police station, Zimmerman’s face and head are clearly visible and show no injuries consistent with the kind of fight Zimmerman’s statement described.

Zimmerman, 28, the neighborhood watch captain at the Retreat at Twin Lakes gated community, is seen arriving in a police cruiser. He gets out of the car with his hands cuffed behind his back. Zimmerman is clean-shaven and appears several pounds lighter than in ubiquitous mug shot of him taken in 2005 when he was arrested on a charge of assaulting a police officer.

The video’s release comes amid shifting public perception of Martin, whose baby-faced image has become the face of the so-called “Trayvon Martin movement for Justice” that has captivated much of the U.S. Earlier this week, school officials in Miami released Martin’s disciplinary record, showing that he had been on a 10-day suspension when he was killed. According to reports, school officials found an empty baggy that contained marijuana residue. Meanwhile, some websites have replaced widely circulated family photos of Martin with pictures of him sporting removable gold tooth caps. Other websites have picked seemingly random photos of other youth in questionable or offensive poses and claimed that they are of Martin.

Martin’s family has called the counter-offensive an assault on Martin’s character and a “smear campaign.” Tracy Martin, the teen’s father, told HuffPost earlier this week, “I refuse to let them assassinate my son’s character.” He added: “The question should not be why was he suspended from school, it should be why did this man kill him in cold blood.”

Zimmerman shot Martin to death the night of Feb. 26. Martin had been walking toward his father’s girlfriend’s house shortly after 7 p.m. and Zimmerman spotted him and called 911 to report a “suspicious” person. Zimmerman followed Martin, disregarding a police dispatcher who told him “we don’t need you to do that.” Police said early in the investigation that Martin noticed he was being followed, asked Zimmerman what he wanted, and a physical encounter ensued.

In the recently released police reports, Zimmerman told police he got out of his vehicle to follow Martin, but lost sight of him. As he walked back to his vehicle, Martin attacked him from behind, punched him in the nose, knocked him down and began smashing the back of his head into the sidewalk, police reports say Zimmerman told officers. During the tussle, Zimmerman pulled the 9 mm handgun he carried and shot Martin in the chest, he told police.

Lawyers for the Martin family said Zimmerman was the aggressor. The lawyers said Martin’s girlfriend in Miami was on the phone with him just moments before he was killed. The girlfriend has told ABC News and family lawyers that Martin told her someone was following him. She said she heard someone ask Martin something, then what sounded like someone pushing him. The phone sounded like it was then knocked to the ground and went dead, the girl said.

The funeral director who handled Martin’s funeral said there were no cuts or bruises on the teen’s hands that would suggest a violent struggle or fight.

“I didn’t see any evidence he had been fighting anybody,” Richard Kurtz of Roy Mizell and Kurtz Funeral Home in Fort Lauderdale, told television talk show host Nancy Grace.

Police took Zimmerman into custody after they arrived. He was questioned and released later that night. He remains free as the Seminole County State Attorney’s Office reviews the police investigation and decides whether to file charges. The U.S. Justice Department also is investigating.

*L*S*O*S*

Readers: Zimmerman is a lying sack of shit. Have we given him membership to the LSOS Club yet? Unlike the fact that we’re all waiting for him to be arrested, I’m not waiting to add him to the LSOS Club. Consider it done. Now if we can just get the police to do the same thing and arrest Zimmerman.

Anything to say…blog it.

(MM, you posted early today. So this went first on yesterdays page. Sorry for repeating here but wanted to make sure you saw it)

    Michelle,

If I owe you an apology for my comments to everyone previously about lightening up on Doug, please allow me to apologize now. I don’t know what went on (frankly its none of my business) but obviously *everyone* here knows more about the situation than I do. I only made my comment in an attempt to stop the mob rule. If my comment offended you in some way, I am sincerely sorry. I hope you would know that it would never be my intention to upset you, or pick sides.

I come from a place where I like to think that as a society, as women, we can bridge divides. It’s up to us to lead by example. I use to think this blog had the ability to do so. But, more and more I feel your readers keep it ego driven. To make a point, many commentators feel the need to put others down to try to get their point across. I find it childish and ineffective. It’s mud slinging of the worst kind. It really only shows the commentator doesn’t believe their point has any validity whatsoever. If they did, they would be attacking the discussion, not the discussor. Overall, I find it a bit tiresome.

Michelle, I sincerely appreciate what you write about. The social issues you bring to the forefront need to be kept in the public eye and we need to be talking them to effectuate any kind of change. Keep up the good work. I wish you all the best.

    /SB

  2. Zen Lill Says:

/SB, cheers to that (and not bc we both seemed to be just staying out of what seemed to be a private brought public issue) bc it is ineffective and ego-driven, though I love the almost under-the-radar digs, a nice ego ride for the writer. A holier-than-thou or I know better attitude doesn’t bring you any closer in support of other women.

And, yes, you can expect that from Zen Lill, though I will still call a full on A-hole an A-hole (that’s men who seem to want to have their asses kicked for being openly misogynistic).

I’m out of here, Luv, Zen Lill

PS Mischa, rain rain go away : ) it comes and goes here lately…boo…

  3. Kelly Says:

Anyone looking to get speakers to discuss the political situation in America and mix of social and psychological influences that they are a part of would be seriously remiss to overlook you Zen Lill.

I have with great pleasure enjoyed your growth incite concerning the plight of women on this blog. Your comment on an issue is definitely looked forward to.

    Kelly

  4. Robert,RT Says:

    SB:

Excuse me if I skip the sandwich and jump to the point. what is childish and ineffective is your effort to assuage your ego by striving to manipulate how others react to your posts.

Each person has his or her on style of critique or reacting, if you will, to what they read posted on this blog. Those with tender sensibilities rail at how the critique is given rather than to the content of the critique.

I would suggest that while an opening harsh critique full of vitriol may turn some off so that they miss the meat in the content of the critique, most critiques are not that way, and that something can be discerned from all of the differing opinions on the various post made here.

Also some critiques are based on the bias, or racism the commentator has toward the individual who is posting or the political or liberal, or conservative view of the poster. However again most critiques are a genuine reflection of the views of the pundit giving an initial comment or responding to another’s post or response to a comment.

In any event something can be gained by accepting the critique and examining its content sans emotional reaction to the way it was presented, i.e. whether you feel it could have been presented more politely.

Perhaps Michelle should include a caveat that “Only big girls and boys should venture into the comment area here. Those with tender sensibilities will only get them bruised.

However, I hope you won’t feel that I have singled you out for attention or ridicule. Actually you are in very good company. Many of the “regulars” regularly display similar sensitivity piques.

I’m sure you have noticed that Al, Zen Lill, Howie, and most recently Doug, all display a remarkable sensitivity to critique some even to the childish level of refusing to return because they don’t feel they were treated with the respect their presence on this blog deserved.

Doug, now that he has lost the built in tolerance his relationship as Michelle’s husband gave him has become particularly sensitive to the willingness of those who read his comments to criticize his comments.

If you feel the need to look for an example of how to adjust to the vitriol and other types of critiques of your comments, I would suggest Zen Lill. She for the most part has shown the most maturity in that category. While she may occasionally relapse into an quick inappropriate reaction to a critique, for the most part she handles critique in a very professional manner.

On the other hand Howie, by far, one of the most followed poster on this blog is the most immature when it comes to be able to take a critique. He is the poster child for taking his ball and running home to weep in self pity of not being loved, respected enough.

I personally am enthralled by the way he writes and the importance and content of his post. But I am also turned off by his sometimes display of the inner child. I look forward to his return and to the knowledge and sensitivity to the topics he picks to comment on.

Social Butterfly also enjoy your unique ability to bring to this blog topics that, but for your input, would not be mentioned like your nod to Adrienne Rich. I have been an admirer of her poetry and writings since I discovered her “Time’s Power” in the late ’80′s.

Likewise the sensitivity and analysis you bring to topics and discussions is both insightful and in their presentation. If I were looking for a circuit partner who was needed to present the female perspective outside of Michelle, I would be proud to follow your opening monologue.

    Robert

    The Plus Side of Insomnia

Maybe you watched a loved one pass away recently. Or maybe you were once mugged. Or maybe you witnessed a really horrendous car accident on your way to work last week.

After going through a traumatic experience like that, feeling tense with anxiety, sadness or fear, you might want to bury your head into your pillow and just sleep—

just to stop thinking about it. But a new study shows that doing the exact opposite may help you get past the trauma.

To find out why, I called study author Rebecca Spencer, PhD, an assistant professor of psychology at University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

    TO SLEEP, PERCHANCE TO…RELIVE

Dr. Spencer and her team conducted a very clever study, so I want to take a minute to describe it to you. They showed 106 adults a series of images.

Half of the images were classified as “emotionally neutral,” such as a person reading the newspaper, while the other half were categorized as “disturbing,” because they were of such scenes as a war-torn country or a person with a gun held to his or her head.

Participants were asked to rate their feelings about each image on two scales. One scale measured sad versus happy, and the other scale measured calm versus excited.

“Excited” was used to describe any strong reaction, whether positive or negative.

Participants saw and rated each image twice—either first thing in the morning and then again that same evening, with no napping or sleeping in between…or first in the evening and then again the next morning after having slept through the night.

During their second sessions, both groups were also shown some images that they had not seen during the first sessions and were asked whether or not they thought they had seen them before.

Members of the “sleep group” wore electrodes on their scalps, chins and the outer edges of their eyelids while sleeping.

The idea was to see how much time they spent in rapid-eye-movement (REM) sleep, which is when dreams tend to occur, because researchers were curious to learn whether dreaming might affect the emotional intensity of memories, Dr. Spencer told me.

The results: Those who did not sleep between viewing sessions were less likely to feel “sad,” on average, about photos that depicted negative events during the second session, compared with those who slept between sessions.

Participants who did not sleep between viewing sessions also tended to feel more “calm,” on average, about the disturbing images the second time around, compared with those who slept between sessions.

Some of the nonsleeper group even struggled to remember whether they had viewed the images 12 hours earlier.

Meanwhile, participants who had slept in between viewings were more likely to have remembered which images they had seen, and those who had spent the most time in REM sleep reacted with more emotional intensity to the “disturbing” images than they had done 12 hours before.

In other words, seeing and thinking about these images proved more disturbing to them even though they had gotten a “good” night’s sleep! Dr. Spencer’s research was published in January in Journal of Neuroscience.

HOW THE IMAGES AND EMOTIONS ARE PROCESSED

Dr. Spencer and I discussed how the amygdala, a region of the brain that is responsible for helping us “replay” memories of daytime experiences likely solidifies them during REM sleep.

What this study suggested, she said, is that the amygdala also “replays” the emotional tone of those experiences in a way that leaves us feeling them more vividly.

So seeking to immediately “sleep off” the impact of a traumatic emotional event actually may be the worst thing that we can do for ourselves, she said—instead of softening the blow, it imprints the memory even deeper.

In Dr. Spencer’s view, if you experience something really terrible, limiting yourself to either no sleep or just a few hours of sleep during that first night—and even limiting how much you sleep during the following few days—may help you heal better, emotionally, down the road.

The researchers unfortunately didn’t measure how sleeping, say, two or three or four days after a traumatic experience impacts the emotional intensity of a memory, but this study suggests that those who put off sleeping for at least 12 hours after the experience are better off than those who go to bed sooner.

As Dr. Spencer put it, “This is one case where insomnia may actually be a healthy response.”

  10. Paca Says:

Zen Lill read Robert’s excellent advice to SB. One who is too concerned with the method of the critique delivery can’t benefit from the content.

If you are a “Big Girl,” then this is the place for you. If your ego or feelings is going to be bruised by the commentary perhaps you should take the examples of Doug and Howie and hide under your mother’s skirts.

    Paca

  11. Hada Says:

You people will see that Howie is a Jew and we jews are resilient. Years of abuse and disrespect have hardened our resolve.

Howie will return when he has something to say.

    Hada

  12. Zen Lill Says:

Para, I hear you babe though it seems to be that in the world of big boys and girls that we would all know that words and language are powerful. I didn’t say it needs to be given to me pillow talk style although good content delivered in that manner is great, good content delivered with contempt will get through, too, it is a matter of choice, please just carry on, I can read through the vitriol just fine. – ZL

  13. Janaki Says:

Michelle, I am seriously awed by your blog. I see a pattern of 10 or less responses and I say she has peeked and I figure I can take a break and return with plenty of time to catch up when I return from Mumbai.

Wow! 60 comments that is unfair. I don’t have the time to read them all.

I have indicators that should point me to the regulars but no Howie, Al, Alycedale, or Robert and SB until the end.

But it is still huge. WoW!

    Janaki

  14. Zen Lill Says:

Para, just wanted to add thought, vitriolic delivery says more about the writers charge on the subject than it does about a readers ability to absurd its content. On a visceral level we all understand that. – ZL

  16. Jules Says:

Looking at the video tape showing Zimmerman in the police station one can hardly imagine the great fight for his life he was supposed to have put up?

Also the comment by his father who said that once Trayvon saw Zimmerman’s gun he began to threaten him? The man without the gun is threatening he man with the gun.

Excuse me, but doesn’t seem illogical to anyone hearing the father’s story wonder why if Zimmerman was pinned down and Trayvon saw his gun in its holster, why didn’t Trayvon take the gun and shoot him rather than threaten Zimmerman and allow him to get his gun and shoot him?

    Just asking

    Jules

  17. Human Events Says:

Good morning to you all. First off, I’d like to make an introduction. Hope Hodge is our new national security and defense reporter and her first story for you all is looking in to the Robert Bales case and talked to some experts about the fact that the media circus surrounding the case can be very difficult for the lawyers prosecuting or defending the case.

Also, make sure you are reading John Hayward’s reaction to the ObamaCare hearings at the Supreme Court. But with all the Supreme Court talk the past few weeks in regard to the monolithic health care law that our Congress didn’t read, it’s so important as Americans to understand exactly how critical our system of laws govern and shape our republic. So, that’s why I want to mention briefly this online course being provided by the great folks at Hillsdale College.

It’s a ten-week online crash course on the Constitution called “Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution,” and it’s taught by Hillsdale faculty, including the college’s president, Dr. Larry Arnn. A brief sample of what to expect from the curriculum:

    -”The Problem of Majority Tyranny”
    - “Separation of Powers”
    - “Religion, Morality, and Property”
    - And, from Dr. Larry Arnn, “The Recovery of the Constitution.”

The best part, aside from the obvious, is that all the material – lectures and everything – is archived on Hillsdale’s website, and available to you at your convenience. Sign up here, and make sure to take the quiz to test your knowledge of the Constitution. You will be surprised by what you don’t know about our Founding document.

There is no cost to register for this course. Make sure to take an opportunity and check out this wonderful and very instructive course.

Plus, John Hayward has a story on Rep. Allen West, who is a conservative freshman stalwart, who is saying that the New Black Panther Party bounty on George Zimmerman is a hate crime.

That’s all from me today, so here’s to a great Thursday, and I’ll see you all tomorrow.

    -Adam

Can you imagine what the media narrative would be right now if the positions were reversed?

Can you imagine what the media would be saying about Democratic leadership in Congress if they had publicly stated that their primary goal was to hamstring a Republican president?

Can you imagine what the media would be saying if Democrats decided to sabotage the economy for the sole purpose to damage the reelection chances of a Republican president?

Can you imagine the headlines if Democrats had held the economy hostage and caused a credit downgrade…and then cheered?

Can you imagine the stories if a Democratic Congress, elected on the notion of creating jobs, had failed to pass a single jobs bill in more than a year after taking office?

It’s doubtful that the media would be blaming the Republican president.

  21. JB Says:

The Grand Sell-Out that almost was. We need to become like Germany and Europe, not a country that will send its workers out on the streets.

A NO VOTE FOR BARACK IS A VOTE FOR A REPUBLICAN DISASTER. DID WE NOT LEARN FROM THE BUSH DEPRESSION.

  23. DC Says:

Say what you will, but since the stand your ground law was enacted in 2005, violent crime has gone down 14%. Im sure it helps that everyones unemployed and at home as well but….when the criminals know the lawbiding citizens also carry guns, they think twice. Ive seen it while in states have carry laws, citizens fight back when attacked.

This one possibly poor choice of someone whom really should not have had a carry permit should not set all of that back.

  24. DF Says:

Even if George Zimmerman had visible injuries, has this become an debate of which person had the right to Stand their Ground? Trayvon or George?

Did Trayvon have the right to defend himself against a man who persistently followed, pursued, and confronted him after being told not to by a 911 dispatcher?

Zimmerman’s alleged injuries and alleged statements he claimed Martin made are irrelevant. This man had no legal authority to pursue, confront, question and then kill someone who was unarmed.

  25. AT Says:

“This man had no legal authority to pursue, confront, question…”
    Wrong.
Zimmerman had every right to follow and question a stranger in his own, oft-burglarized community as a neighborhood watchman.

Mr. Martin would be still with us today if he only said, “Sir, I am staying with so-and so in so-and so house.”

Instead Martin chosen the path of physical confrontation ( see his Twitter moniker) and paid the ultimate price for it. Tragic all around.

  26. FT Says:

If zimmerman was bruised and bloodied from trayvon, the police would have taken photo’s as proof.

if there are no visual proof, then one of 2 things happened. 1. There was no blood and bruises, grass stains or other proof of a 2 sided altercation or 2. sanford cops are totally incompetent.

  27. SS Says:

The government has proven that it has the right to force people to engage in economic activity. Mandatory auto insurance is required in all states if you are going to drive a car.

If you choose not purchase it and and drive and are caught you will be fined.

The choice to drive a car or ride the bus is not the same as the choice to have an infected burst appendix removed or to try and sit home and just ignore the pain and watch a movie.

If participation in the activity is the measure by which we judge the rightfulness of the mandate then by the mere act of being alive you are participating in the healthcare system as has been mandated by our nations choosing to not allow anyone to be turned away for treatment at a hospital emergency room regardless of ability to pay.

We as a society saw this as the civilized choice. To be a fair society mandatory coverage has solved the problem of the “free rider” protecting both the insured and the insurer especially if we make the civilized choice to not allow healthcare Insurers to turn away those with a pre existing condition.

The question is do we want to be a fair and civilized society or would we rather turn people away and simply let them to d i e in the streets? The GOP can ask themselves “What would Jesus do ?”

dont panic dems….you can still move to france and let everyone else pay YOUR bills….you could even learn to eat snails there so I hear.

  29. HP Says:

The Democrats knew this law was unconstitutional all along.

That’s why they had to use political dirty tricks like “deem & pass” and “reconcilliation” to pass their law that they crafted behind closed doors.

The Republicans tried to warn them but Obama was too high on his new power of being the President.

This is a HUGE FAIL for Obama.

    He’s toast!

If this wonderful health care system is so great, why are we ranked 37 in the world? A lot of the technology is unobtainable to most people due to the high cost.

  31. CN Says:

Democrats just want to throw grannys in wheelchairs off the cliff.

  32. BJ Says:

Maybe children would stop being in the line of fire if Dems stopped using them as human shields to push their agenda.

Sandra Fluke and Trayvon Martin have been good tools for the Dems. I’ve always said never let a tragedy go to waste if you can possibly get some anti-gun legislation out of it.

  33. JB Says:

Liberals are the biggest bullies around.

In Wisconsin liberals bullied children, the disabled and everyone expressing their free speech all over the place because they could not stand a State union member having the same bargaining power that federal workers under Obama have.

Liberals in Wisconsin made everything personal and involved families of politicians and crossed so many lines that there no longer is any line. Also, Bill Mahr, liberal, bully.

  34. SR Says:

While you are at it you can Thank a liberal union member for your 40 hour week, for your vacation time, and for safe working conditions!!!!

  35. IF Says:

If Zimmerman isn’t the classic case of a victim of bullying I don’t know who is (other than Fluke).

The problem is people don’t agree with his actions so they are willing to overlook what is happening to him because they think it’s jusified.

  36. RW Says:

If zimmerman is a victim at least he is a live victim, the high school kid is dead, and hey acording to the dumb law, I can go to FL and shot him if I feel my life is threatened…

  37. NM Says:

What everyone fails to mention is that if the scotus does show their true big insurance colors and repeal the entire bill (which would be best for big insurance should the mandate be removed) then we have six months ahead of us where we will have to hear and see story after story after story of people who were suddenly stripped of the health coverage.

We will also have a scotus that no one, and I mean no one, will trust.

Because of citizens untied, 4 out of 5 americans already think this court will make their decision in this case based on personal political belief and not on objective evaluation of the law.

so the repubs can go out and try to sell america the idea that obama is some kind of failure all they want, but it won’t trump reality, and americans will know exactly who took health coverage away from all those people. no one is going to blame obama for that.

This will be horrific for the repubs.

  38. AB Says:

In addition to screaming “activist judges,” Democrats should be screaming — and acting on — impeachment of the so-called justices who are demonstrably partisan hacks.

  39. CM Says:

When it comes to economics Repulicans will scream government overreach as loud as they can. But when it comes to my uterus they will be as invasive as they can. Apparently we are smart enough to make choices about our heal

  40. JN Says:

The public believes the Supreme Court is politicized not impartial, at least according to a recent poll by Bloomberg News, and too few sitting on that bench today seem willing to do much to overturn the perception.

  41. BT Says:

Maybe if “your” side could learn how to write a law you could stop whining. What a ridiculous overblown peice of…

You accuse justices of solely acting on political bias, just because they do not agree with you.

Early in an election year I came to HP, along with some other sources, for information. This progressive playground is amazing.

You scream on principle, when it suites you, and cry on emotion when you have neither principle or fact on your side. I dont dislike Obama all that much , but he has really scary friends,.

  42. HJ Says:

It’s not the Supreme Courts decision to write laws, so should 5 activist right-wingers go ahead and kill laws that the people want? Because they don’t fit the justice’s ideology?

A law passed by congress may be a liberal or a conservative law, but the justices should not then veto the law because they aren’t all conservative laws. Absurd.

  43. Martin Says:

Howie, where are you? I hope you are well.

  44. SR Says:

If Democrats had spines, the Supreme Court overturning ACA would be an electoral boon to them.

They could make insuring the uninsured THE CENTRAL issue in 2012. They could demand that Republicans tell voter how THEY would help 50 million uninsured Americans get health coverage.

The American electorate isn’t very well informed, but I can’t see many of them buying the two solutions that Republicans ALWAYS offer

    – Cutting the taxes of corporations and millionaires — AGAIN, and
    – “Deregulating” the insurance corporations until paying legitimate claims is pretty much optional.

But this is merely hypothetical, since Democrats DON’T have spines . . . .

  45. Maria Says:

You are right about this being a right wing operation. STARK are corrupt judges. I do not trust them AT
ALL. What a sorry state we are in.

The idea that this will hand the election to Mitt might not be right. Mitt imposed and endorsed the Individual mandate so it neutralizes any attacks on Pres. Obama doing the same.

The GOP WILL run ads like this: “Obama (not President Obama) was a constitutional law professor??? Yet he signed an UNCONSTITUTIONAL law….etc.” You get the idea. It will be ugly.

BUT, their nominee is sooo defective, he will probably shoot himself in the foot (“See NRA I DO have a gun, says MItt) while all this is going on.

STARK may try really hard to give the election to the GOP, but Mitt may well hand it back to the Dems.

Cathy, thank you for the sweet sentiment, back at ya : )

And Donna, I do my best and it is good enough. Not sure if you’re same Donna that posted the video, but yes, saw that, anything about Zimmerman being hurt is just justification for horrible actions, and I cannot remember the commenters’ name now, I apologize, but yes, he probably would have the right to ask a boy a question though I would suspect it came off as full on harassment not just a ‘question’, so your suggestion that he was somehow justified is little more of a rationalization than anything else. If the 911 operator tells you assistance is on the way and to stand down, well then, stand down. The kid wasn’t doing anything but walking while OTW.

  48. DH Says:

Profiling, excessive adrenalin and/or testosterone, and a gun make a deadly combination. Which is the precise reason that the police told Zimmerman to stay put and not pursue Trayvon.

Trayvon’s high-school behavior (if true) has NOTHING to do with this case. He was armed with Skittles and iced tea on 02/26/12 and he was being pursued by an armed stranger. End of story.

  49. Juanita Says:

So what if Trayvon smoked pot. MILLIONS of people smoke pot and it doesn’t make them villains.

Millions of us have less than flattering pictures of ourselves somewhere too. People trying to smear Trayvon with embarrassing information are really just smearing themselves.

Why go to such lengths to attack the dead? Why are you so angry and resentful at black outrage?

  50. DC Says:

The fact Trayvon smoked weed habitually is somehow supposed to sway our opinions on the shooting? REALLY?

Yes, the fact he like marijuana is total justification for his death. He obviously doesn’t deserve to live.

How ridiculous are these conservatives? HOW is his personal life even important to the case?

  51. Anonymous Says:

It’s funny when their friends say they’re not horrible people when they killed someone for no reason. I wonder what they consider generous people?

  52. Hana Says:

This time I have to agree. The neighbor said Zimmerman wasn’t a horrible person….what do they call killers in that part of the world?

Perhaps in white America, you can only be “horrible” if you kill a white person.
