This ‘n That Chitchat
Posted by Michelle Moquin on July 12th, 2012
Good morning!
No write today…just want to chitchat with you.
Arun: I wanted to let you know that I am still looking into it.
Mike TM: My pleasure. And I understand. It is not always easy keeping the faith when the Right so wants to do wrong. As always I look forward to your comments.
Social Butterfly: Thanks for the blog write and for informing me and my readers of LPAC. I HOPE it had strong pull too! Oh and I will respond to FB – thanks. :)
Eva: Thanks for being such a loyal reader. I’m delighted that reading here has been so enlightening for you. I can certainly say the same for me. Good luck at Yale. And thanks for the kind words, although you give me way too much credit.
Helene: “…My party does on occasion tell a few harmless lies to get the public’s attention, , but the cause is meritorious.” Are you kidding? What world do you live in? Let me guess….Hmm..the world of faux FOX news? No answer necessary.
I love women like you who are so obviously stupid and callus. Maybe ”harmless lies” to you so what does it matter right? But you may think these “harmless lies” only affect others but no doubt you will be the one of the first screaming and kicking for health coverage, should illness visit your doorstep. How meritorious will it be then?
You can bet I am voting for the “foreigner”. And if you’re smart girl you will too. But from you ignorant comments, I’m not counting on it. PS Read Alycedale’s comment.
Speaking of…
Alycedale: I don’t know what you do for a living but if you’re not whispering in Obama’s ear, you should be. I certainly HOPE he and his people are reading, because his campaign could ride on your reasoning and logic. I applaud you and HOPE here, there, and everywhere people are listening to you and getting it.
Lawrence: You have quite the imagination. I like it.
Anne: Saw it on the news last night on the Lawrence O’Donnell show. Got a kick out of how he presented it.
Readers: Unfortunately the video cuts out the ending of his last line. But for those of you who haven’t seen it, here it is:
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
And if you want to see what Mike,MT is talking about, I am posting the video as well:
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
That’s it for me – your turn. Blog me.
Peace & Love…
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.
Gratefully your blog host,

Six Ways to Truly Relax on Vacation
We don’t need another study to tell us that vacations are good for our mental health. Time away from stress can certainly be healing. But leaving anxiety behind once we’re on vacation is sometimes easier said than done.
In fact, my friends tell me all the time that it takes them a few days on vacation to actually unwind—and if they’re away for only a long weekend, then by the time they’re truly relaxed, they’re back at work again!
For tips on how to get into relaxation mode quickly, I called Deborah Serani, PsyD, a psychologist in private practice in Smithtown, New York, who often provides talk therapy to anxious patients and teaches stress-reduction techniques. If anyone could help us start relaxing quickly on vacation, I figured she could.
BEFORE YOU GO
Here are some easy tips from Dr. Serani on how to keep your stress in check before you leave for your trip.
Know yourself.
If you’re the type who feels less stressed when you’re able to check voice mail and e-mail, then accept this fact—and don’t go somewhere remote on your vacation.
On the other hand, if being out of touch makes you feel at ease, pick a place without cell service and Internet connectivity (or don’t bring your phone or laptop with you!).
Create a budget.
For a lot of people, the idea that a vacation represents an endless gusher of spending makes them feel tense and prevents enjoyment.
Solution:
Decide how much you want to spend ahead of time, and bring that much cash (or, for safety, traveler’s checks) with you. Bring a credit card for an emergency or for when cash isn’t accepted (such as at many car-rental agencies), but try to use only the cash or traveler’s checks.
Then you’ll be less likely to overspend and worry. An all-inclusive resort can be an even better solution—once you have paid your way, there’s no more spending needed.
Give everyone a say.
A vacation won’t be relaxing for you—or anyone in your group—if some people are grumbling about the activities. So let each person in your group plan at least one activity—or if it’s just you and a partner, choose an itinerary that you both really like.
That doesn’t mean that you have to go hiking if you would rather visit a museum—it’s OK to split up during your vacation.
Set a loose schedule.
You don’t need an hour-by-hour schedule for your vacation—in fact, it’s smart to leave room for a little spontaneous fun. But do make a list of a few things that you want to see and experience, and do your research ahead of time.
You don’t want to show up at a famous restaurant without reservations or a tour of a cathedral to find that there are no tickets left (or show up at the Louvre, as a friend of mine did, on a Tuesday—the one day that the Louvre is closed!).
WHILE YOU’RE THERE
Leave your anxiety behind on your trip by following these simple rules from Dr. Serani…
Make time for exercise.
No matter how much you plan in advance, there will be some unavoidable stress from transportation delays, waiting in line or even weather. So each day that you are on vacation, take a walk (even if it means crossing one planned activity off your list)…
skip the elevator and use the stairs at the hotel…or rent a bicycle and use it to get around if you’re in that sort of place. Any form of exercise will reduce your level of the stress hormone cortisol—and make you feel happier.
Take lots of pictures. According to Dr. Serani, research shows that visual cues, such as looking at pictures of past vacations, can get the feel-good neurochemical dopamine circulating again, so take photos while you’re away to relieve stress later.

Michelle, I must say with friends like Zen Lill telling your readers that it’s okay to steal your content with her
=========================
FYI, story ideas and concepts cannot be copyrighted, only actual form of words and all plagiarism does not violate copyright law, short and simple from a patent atty I was consulting regarding patent/copyright/trademark law, a different project than a blog entirely so there may be more to it though this atty spent an hour on the phone giving me the scoop using every analogy possible. Now that’s fact checking ; ) (you’re welcome : )
===================
At least she ended the knife in the back with a :), nice touch. The interesting thing is her lawyer friend is dead wrong. If you think not, consider this fact. Hollywood has the most talented and knowledgeable lawyers on their payroll to defend against charges of that their story ideas, and concepts were stolen. And they end up settling a lot out of court.
So that should tell you that it doesn’t matter whether or not one can copyright a story idea or concept, you can still sue someone from stealing yours.
I would remind Zen Lill that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Be careful quoting a lawyer. One lawyer’s opinion of the law is often the beginning of a litigious action. That is why our legal system is adversarial.
My question is who asked for this advice? The only people who would be remotely interested are the thieves looking to profit from Howie’s contributions on the alien side. So I ask you Zen lill, what purpose did that serve?
Just a though

This is the eighth installment on the tale of Tsarme‘s disappearance. When we left off, Tsarme stepped through the worm hole, causing a fissure.
Tony, who himself is a 5th dimensional being, had discovered that the fissure in our Universe caused by Tsarme’s quick exit as he was examining the fissure for traces of Tsarme. He was pulled through the crack into that parallel Universe accidentally by scientists running experiments in their Universe.
Tyna had given Tony an Omel to assist her in finding him should he get lost. It is a tracking device that is unique to the sensors of the Tyna-type computer models. When she reasoned that he was leaving for an area outside of the tracking range of the Omel, she notified Azza.
Azza ordered her to use all means at her disposal to attempt a rescue of Tony before he was completely out of range. Tyna also informed Azza that the area Tony might be disappearing into could be a parallel Univere. She told Azza if that was so and someone on the other side was pulling him through, that being or beings could enter this side of the Universe as well.
She suggested to Azza that while she would probably need all her logic patterns to successfully locate and return Tony to this side without harm, Azza should concentrate on preventing anyone but Tony from coming through that fissure.
Azza, trusts Tyna, but Tony is her favorite, so as insurance on his return she sent Gaiel and Maz to find him with orders not to return without him. Then she told Tyna to allow no more than three entries to exit the fissure. Azza was not aware that Tony had gone in to the parallel Universe in search of Tsarme.
Tyna’s orders are to match the physical coordinates of the three TAO, (Tony, Gaiel, & Maz) and seal the exit with orders to explode once those coordinates were satisfied on this side.

Lorrie, et al, since you seem to sit around thinking of ways to twist what I say and pretend to not know which side I’m on after almost 5 years, I will keep it kindergarten level for you.
I write stream of consciousness most of the time (may be distracting for you from time to time) and the other day, I happened to recall (after I asked Mischa here and did not receive a response) that the archives were closed a while back due to un-loyal readers (anyone qualify? Certainly not me, the one in the hot seat of scalding scolding) – also, recently, reared it’s head again over Howie’s alien stories – concurrent with this recollection, I was consulting w/said atty re another matter (I mentioned that in my comment) so I posted the short & quick version given, it was meant to be helpful, and all things can turn litigious and we all know that.
…and due to the nature of this copyright it could apply depending on how the info was used though – 95% of the time it ends up settled out of court, which still means engaging an attorney to protect yourself bc things like ‘stealing’ often occurs no matter how you structure the copyright on a blog.
Interesting to me is you looking to find something sinister in my actions, though you aren’t the only one, clearly. I’ve dealt with much in life so your bs along with anyone else who doesn’t know wtf my priorities might be can all kiss my beautiful and well shaped ass and this big grin is for you, Lorrie : D
Luv, Zen Lill
PS ALL of my personal off blog friends, who think I’m way to forgiving (I think I’m live and let live) would probably tell me to tell you to FUCK OFF but I’m way to polite for that.

Even here in Ireland, we understand the racial connotations behind the statement by Mr. Romney that If you want free stuff vote for the other guy.
We recognize here the association you americans put on “free stuff” and welfare.
My niece called to say that Mr. Romney was bragging about the fact he was booed at the NAACP when he later went to an all white group. In other words he planned to use the boos he invited during his visit to the blacks to motivate the racists to go out to vote for him.
She said that often she is ashamed of her countrymen. She said that were she works she is encouraged not to associate after work with her black coworkers.
I guess your presidential race will fall along racial lines.

It truly is getting embarrassing. I’m talking about President Obama’s campaign and the MSM’s blatant falsehoods about Mitt Romney’s record at Bain Capital. Whether it’s outsourcing jobs (4 Pinocchios from the Washington Post’s Fact Checker) or the latest from the Boston Globe arguing that he lied about his tenure (which was settled in January, per the Fact Checker), President Obama should truly be better than this. Since not delivering on ‘Hope and Change,’ it’s been the same old tactic from him and his campaign of either lies or constantly running away from an abysmal record. We deserve better.
Good, quick post from Ramesh Ponnuru over at the Corner: Romney and Race-Baiting
From us:
Romney Uses Political Jiujitsu on Obama Outsourcing Attack: “As we turn up more of these big-bucks offshore financial ties by Democrats, let us remember that nothing is illegal or unscrupulous about them (at least, not any that have come to light thus far.) They’re only troubling to people who retain the capacity for rational thought, and have been taking anything the Democrats say about outsourcing seriously. Admittedly, that’s probably a very small segment of the population.”
Scott Brown Raises Profile of Stolen Valor, Calls on Obama to Act: “Brown has promoted a series of military and veterans’ bills in recent weeks, introducing a bill authorizing grants for the nonprofit Fisher House on June 27. He sponsored legislation to prohibit housing discrimination against veterans early last month after reading a Boston Herald report about a veteran turned away from a rental property because of his military status.”
Harry Reid vs. the Bimbos: “In a fit of frustration, the Senate majority leader recently remarked, “fabulously rich so-called small business owners like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton could qualify for these wasteful giveaways.” (By “giveaways,” Reid means tax rates that are not yet instituted.)
By pointing out that these two stupendously wealthy airheads are supposedly beneficiaries of some undue “breaks,” Reid might believes he’s found the perfect tax villains. He’s wrong. Because, as counterintuitive as it may seem, Kardashian and Hilton are effective job creators, the kind that Reid shouldn’t be punishing.”
Have a great day,
-Adam

My brothers who have spent years fighting the right of women to have a legal abortion were presented by me and a few of my very good friends evidence that their hero and man Mitt Romney has a company that makes tons of money off the fetuses from abortions.
So what do they do? They look the other way. So now I have this bumper on my car.
MITT ROMNEY….GETTING RICH….ONE ABORTED FETUS AT A TIME
They are livid. But it says that they are willing to vote not for a real candidate, but for anyone running against Obama.

PrP #12 Yesterday:
It took me time to absorb what you wrote in your comment yesterday. It just did not click that you were speaking of an invasion of Krijo on July 12 (today). I did not think of that possibility.
I want to say that I am more than happy that my continuing tale of Tsarme‘s disappearance has halted the death of innocent Alien lives on Krijo.
Luc #9 July 10th:
I am trying to help save lives with the accuracy of my comments. I am not being coy. I realize the information could effect this planet and solar system.
There is more information to come and hopefully all will be resolved concerning Tsarme and the Anomaly caused by his absence.

The Pharmaceutical company back in 2001 held conventions for doctors where they were told they could make an ungodly amount of money by proscribing Advair to patience that didn’t need it or shouldn’t have it.
They were essentially telling doctors to proscribe Advair to their patience whether they need it or not for a few dollars more.
Advair was a drug approved by the FDA for emphysema or chronic bronchitis, but it said do not use it for lesser aliments like asthma because in the clinical trials people died.
However to make money, Advair encouraged doctors to use it off label.

Even though I really don’t care that much for Romney, you have to give the guy credit for even going to a group of people that 95% voted against his party in the last presidential election.
From what I hear, Obama isn’t even planning on seeing them, but if he does it will be to tell them some more of his lies like the first time. National unemployment 8.2%.
African American unemployment over 14%. Worst than it was when Obama came into office. Wonder how long or if ever they will realize Obama is not their man any more than he is the person to promote the best interest of the rest of America.
July 12th, 2012 at 5:58 pm
Mike, MT the story you were referring to is this: GlaxoSmithKline PLC’s $3 billion criminal and civil settlement with the U.S. government this week raises questions about the future of asthma treatment Advair—the company’s biggest moneymaker and one of the top-selling drugs in the world.
According to the U.S. government, from 2001 through “at least 2010,” Glaxo used illegal marketing tactics to promote Advair, an inhaler licensed to treat moderate to severe forms of asthma. In a complaint filed in federal court in Massachusetts in October, the government accused the company of promoting the drug for the treatment of mild asthma and other uses it said weren’t licensed by the FDA for lesser ailments.

Some white people can really be insensitive assholes. This one belongs to Howard Stern. The controversial radio host made a remark on an episode of America’s Got Talent, that Guam did not receive well.
Unimpressed by the performance of Lion Dance Me, a dance group from Guam, Stern said, “If this was in Guam, you would have won already. Guam — they don’t have many exciting acts. But here in America they want different, they want new, they want unique.”
Gov. Eddie Calvo responded, “Howard Stern? Who? Sorry, I’m a fan of Chelsea Handler. I wouldn’t be too concerned about what he says, especially when our performers are kicking butt in all these national competitions.
I mean, I can’t even remember how many trophies SKIP has brought home from national and international competitions. Look at Marko Germar. Look at Admiral (Peter) Gumataotao. Look at our high school ROTC teams and our little leaguers.
I think our people are doing pretty well on the world stage. I’ll let their excellence in competition speak for itself.”
==========================
What can one expect from a race that would think that a jerk like Howard Stern has any talent? To add insult to injury they have this freak show whose only claim to fame is his foul mouth judging people with real talent.
Someone on this blog once said this is a race who needs to be told what is good, bad, or ugly to even have a clue.
I’m starting to see the wisdom in that statement.

A Washington, D.C., police officer has been removed from his unit and placed on administrative duty over remarks he allegedly made about first lady Michelle Obama—but the Secret Service is downplaying the controversy, msnbc.com reports.
The officer, who worked as a motorcycle escort for White House officials, “allegedly said he would shoot the first lady and then used his phone to retrieve a picture of the firearm he said he would use,” according to the Washington Post.
The officer reportedly made the comments Wednesday morning as several officers from the Special Operations Division discussed threats against the Obamas.
Officials familiar with the situation say that it was a bad joke made by someone who should have known better, according to msnbc.com.
[Related: Secret Service partying hard on Martha's Vineyard?]
“Pump the brakes on this one,” a Secret Service official told NBC, saying the agency is not concerned that the remark made by the officer constitutes any kind of actual threat.
“We’re aware of it and taking the appropriate steps,” an official for the Secret Service told msnbc.com.

Wonder why the Secret Service is not taking this seriously? The guy has a gun and he works as an escort for the protection of the white house.
