Data Breach: Protect Yourself From Becoming A Victim
Posted by Michelle Moquin on September 25th, 2012
Good morning!
I haven’t posted this type of info for awhile. But this came across my plate and I thought today was a good day.
Data Breach
<>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>
Chances are high that, if you haven’t already been victim of a data breach, you will one day.
What you do next depends on the seriousness of the breach, but in a worst case scenario you must batten down the hatches — setting up fraud alerts on your credit report and even closing bank and credit card accounts.
This week, we explain the risk of a data breach and outline the actions you can take in response.
Before we begin, you may want to spend a moment looking a this week’s most popular articles from our other sites:

What to Do If You’re a Data Breach Victim
<>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>~<>~<><>
Up to 20 million Americans may become victims of a data breach this year, in one or more of an estimated 400 incidents.
That’s if trends that marked the halfway stage for the year are anything to go by — 220 breaches of data, affecting more than 12 million people, at the end of June.
A data breach happens when a hacker gains access to a computer that contains personal records of individuals, or a disk or other device containing records is lost or stolen.
These may be stored by a business or other organization – a hospital for instance — and the records may hold information ranging from simple contact details like home or email addresses, to highly sensitive and confidential information like credit card numbers and health records.
Hacking is not a rare event. In a recent survey by Ponemon Networks, an incredible 90% of the 600 businesses polled said they’d been hacked.
Fortunately, these cyber break-ins don’t always find personal records. Or, if they do, they’re often not used for identity theft.
In fact, according to a report by Carnegie Mellon University, the likelihood of becoming an ID theft victim if your details are accessed through a breach of data is around 2%.
And the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, claims that in one of the worst-ever breaches of data, only 1,800 of the 4 million records affected actually led to ID theft.
But still, with the sort of numbers seen so far this year, everyone whose records are online is potentially vulnerable to a data breach.
Options for Data Breach Victims
That raises the question of what you should do once you learn you’re a victim.
First, it’s important to know that most states require organizations whose data is stolen to send out a data breach notification to all victims.
At the time of writing, a few still don’t. (You can check which ones at the following website — though we can’t vouch for its accuracy).
http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=8JUKO&m=IgPu5YnBuGtWfo&b=i8tRqsGyXJwI2xb4HtD8jg
Note: What’s important is the state where the breach of data occurred is based, not where you happen to live.
And, of course, even in states where notifying you is not mandatory, most firms accept the moral obligation to send out a data breach notification.
What you do next depends on the severity of the incident and the willingness of the organization and others to help you.
Bearing this in mind, here’s a countdown of actions you should either take or consider:
1. First, check if the notification you received is genuine.
Sounds obvious doesn’t it? But that letter or email you got could be bogus — from a crook trying to get you to give away key personal information.
Before taking further action, check online for reports of a data breach or, if necessary, contact the organization (using their phone directory listing, not the number on the notification) to ensure it’s legit.
2. Assuming it’s genuine, establish exactly what sort of information has been disclosed since that will dictate what you do next.
The data breach notification may tell you exactly what’s been stolen but, more likely, they’ll say data has been compromised and they’re not even sure if you’re among the victims or precisely what information has been accessed.
In that case, assume the worst. If the organization has your credit card info, assume the thieves now have it.
3. Establish what help the organization plans to give you.
Mostly, they’re not legally obliged to do anything beyond notifying you, but these days many offer to pay for services that monitor your credit records to see if anyone’s using your details.
If this service is offered, take it.
If the firm doesn’t make the offer, ask them. Usually, the data breach notification letter will contain a helpline number you can call, or contact their main number.
4. As a matter of routine, take the following steps:
* Change, delete and replace any email addresses the organization may have used for you.
* Change passwords you may have used with them. That is, obliterate every single usage of the password, even with organizations not connected with the incident.
Incidentally, hackers sometimes just steal information for the heck of it and then release the email addresses and passwords to show what they’ve done.
You can check your email addresses against these publicly released lists at http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=8JUKO&m=IgPu5YnBuGtWfo&b=qclWEEZxlE9RuD0nSC8sVw
(again, we can’t vouch for the accuracy or security of this site, though the operators insist they do not store any information you input).
* Monitor media coverage of the data breach to ensure you’re up-to-date with the scale and nature of the incident.
* Double up on your phishing vigilance.
As we stated in #1 above, once someone has your email or postal address they may contact you asking for information, posing as the organization that suffered the data breach.
So, even if you know there’s been a data breach, don’t just give out information about yourself in response to a letter. Check it carefully.
Hacked organizations aren’t likely to ask you for any confidential information anyway. They already have it.
5. Now for some specifics for more serious data breach theft. If any financial information or your Social Security number have been stolen, here are some actions you can take:
* Ask the bank to notify you of any suspicious activity conducted in your name.
* Put a fraud alert on your credit records. This will flag-up a warning sign if anyone tries to gain credit using your name.
Most credit issuers, including retailers and card companies, always check these reports before allowing credit.
The credit reporting agencies won’t necessarily tell you when this happens but it will make your account information worthless to the crooks for opening new accounts.
For information about creating a fraud alert, see this guidance from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC):
http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=8JUKO&m=IgPu5YnBuGtWfo&b=C8W1Ji8qNZCMDPq98m4l_w
* Keep close tabs on your credit card and bank accounts to detect any unusual activity — daily if you monitor them online.
* If you’re really worried, consider asking your bank and/or credit card company to cancel your accounts and open new ones, issuing new cards.
The Golden Rule
A couple more things to know:
First, the theft of your Social Security number is potentially the most harmful since you can’t just cancel your SSN and get another one.
Look out for a forthcoming Scambusters issue dealing with protecting your Social Security number.
Second, if your information is stolen in a data breach, you must be vigilant for a long time.
Stolen financial data, like credit card numbers, are traded in the criminal black market and take years to be used.
Finally, the golden rule: Assume your personal information will one day be stolen in a data breach, because it probably will, so be careful how you spread those details around!

Zen Lill, I have notice that you seem to be able to get in when others can’t. What is your secret? I tried all day yesterday and couldn’t.
Of course I’m not sure that I can today. But should I make it, I would like to comment on your Bristol Palin link.
It was highly enlightening. Amazing as you said a woman who didn’t practice birth control has been given the job of telling others how or that they should practice birth control.
Why would anyone listen to someone who is making money because she did what she is telling them not to do?
That is one of the problems of the Right, they often profit offer the same thing they are denying others.

I couldn’t get in yesterday. I wanted to say that corruption is getting out of hand in judicial elections.
Fueled by money from corporate interests and lobbyists, spending on judicial campaigns has exploded in the last two decades.
In 1990 candidates for state supreme courts only raised around $3 million, but by the mid-nineties, campaigns were raking in more than five times that amount, fueled by extremely costly races in Alabama and Texas. The 2000 race saw high-court candidates raise more than $45 million.
Larry
Big business has taken over the State Supreme Courts in many states, especially southern states like Alabama and Texas.

Michelle, I see someone other than Zen Lill can get in today. I was going to say that you were very timely with that article about the Right buying control of state judges.
I read this in an article about Karl Roves:
———————————–
For many years, these contests were rather sleepy affairs, followed mostly by lawyers (and not many of them). The big changes began in the nineteen-eighties, and the partisan lines were clear.
Plaintiffs’ lawyers in personal-injury cases funded Democratic candidates for judgeships; defense lawyers in these cases—especially those representing insurance companies and large corporations—supported Republicans.
For a time, the battle was something of standoff, but Republicans gained the upper hand in the nineties, especially in the South, where they were making big gains across the board. (Karl Rove first became famous because of his victories in Texas judicial elections.)
—————————————
The Right has at least a decade of buying judges to corrupt the system under their belt. Seeing how profitable it has been emboldens them to buy more.

Are Your Meds Making You Fat?
I recently reported on the two newly FDA-approved weight-loss drugs, Belviq and Qysmia, which have been getting lots of buzz.
Know what’s not getting lots of buzz, though?
The growing evidence that many prescription medications include weight gain as a side effect.
There’s even a special name for the plumpness caused by medicine—iatrogenic fat.
Have you been gaining weight? Before you ask your doctor about which medications to start taking (such as Belviq and Qysmia), ask your doctor about which drugs to stop taking.
There often are substitute drugs and natural treatments that don’t include weight gain as a side effect. I’ll get you started with a list of some of the drugs that could be making you fat…
A DIFFERENT KIND OF DRUG PROBLEM
Some experts suspect that our growing obesity problem in the US could be due, at least in part, to the fact that laws changed in the 1990s, allowing pharmaceutical companies to market drugs directly to consumers through TV and print ads.
You’re probably wondering whether one of your drugs is fueling your battle with the bulge. To find out which medications are the worst offenders, I called John Morton, MD, director of bariatric surgery at Stanford Hospital & Clinics in California, an expert on weight gain and weight loss who has been outspoken about the iatrogenic nature of some people’s weight gain.
Steroids.
Prednisone and its ilk won’t just make you chubby. “They flat out make you hungry,” Dr. Morton explained. They also cause water retention and fat retention and slow down metabolism, so patients often gain 20 to 40 pounds with continued use, according to Dr. Morton.
Antidepressants.
It’s true that some people go on eating binges when they feel unhappy. But, in general, people tend to eat less when they are unhappy and more when they feel happy, such as when antidepressants lift their moods, said Dr. Morton.
Plus, antidepressants block acetyl choline, histamine and/or serotonin receptors—and when some or all of these are blocked, weight gain can follow.
Statins.
Doctors warn patients who take these cholesterol-lowering drugs about the common side effects of muscle cramps and muscle pain. And weak and painful muscles can make patients less likely to move around, which causes them to burn fewer calories.
The other issue is psychological: “If you’re taking a pill to deal with high cholesterol, you might think that the problem is taken care of, and that it’s no longer necessary to eat well and exercise more,” Dr. Morton said.
Antihistamines.
These might relieve allergies, but they can harm your body’s ability to regulate weight, since that’s one job of histamine. “Also,” said Dr. Morton, “antihistamines have a sedating effect that decreases energy.” So they may make you want to watch TV rather than go for a walk.
Antibiotics.
A growing amount of evidence is showing that the type of bacteria that is in our intestines determines how much energy we extract from food—and antibiotics disturb that “native mix,” as Dr. Morton puts it.
Insulin.
It’s a lifesaver for diabetics, but it can initiate a vicious cycle. Insulin makes you hungry, which makes you gain weight, so you need more insulin, which makes you even hungrier!
ADDRESSING PILL PUDGE
Though the amount of iatrogenic weight gain varies depending on the drug and how long you’re on it, it’s generally unremitting and progressing, Dr. Morton said. So before you start any new medication, ask your doctor four critical questions…
1. Will this make me gain weight?
2. How long will I need to take this?
3. Are there any natural treatments that I can try instead that won’t make me gain weight?
4. Are there any other types of medication that I can take instead that won’t make me gain weight?
If you have to be on a drug that may lead to weight gain, make an effort to eat healthier foods and exercise—more than you normally would if you weren’t on the drug. Then you can cancel out the side effect and potentially stop the problem before it starts!

Exactly, Joan, and they see nothing wrong with this, and in fact they even gave her this ‘air time’ to discuss how Pres Obama had a reasonable conversation with his children regarding gay marriage, their HUA (head up ass) syndrome is just scary.
& I have no idea why I always get in, I just do, no tricks/no secret to share, sorry…maybe Mischa knows but I do not.

The Right fringe ideology completely ignores scientific fact. Instead, they take orders from Big Oil financiers like the Koch brothers, who have spent more than $100 million in attempts to defeat President Obama at every turn and completely take over Washington.

Slumped in the back seat of a police cruiser, 16-year-old Brooklyn stared blankly out the window. Her clothes were tattered. Tears stained her delicate cheeks. Her lips were bloodied.
Earlier that night, her boyfriend demanded she steal some booze for him. When Brooklyn resisted, he beat her until she agreed.
Just a few hours later, she was nabbed for shoplifting.
Now this young runaway was headed to a juvenile detention center – exhausted, angry and so alone.
Brooklyn had run away from home just three weeks earlier. Her dad had lost his job, and her mom was working double shifts so the family could get by. Dad was drinking more; Mom was depressed. Brooklyn hated life at home – the endless screaming and bitter arguments. She felt like a burden.
When her 18-year-old boyfriend suggested they run away together, Brooklyn didn’t hesitate. They had no plan, but that was okay. Brooklyn believed “anywhere but here” had to be better. Still, she never thought about life on the run. She never imagined it would end with her in handcuffs.
The day Brooklyn came before the juvenile court was the day her life began to change. The judge decided Brooklyn needed help – not hard time – and referred her to Boys Town.
Boys Town discovered that Brooklyn was in a great deal of pain… prone to angry outbursts and emotional breakdowns.
This child was literally crying out for help. We developed an individual treatment plan for every area of her life… social, academic, life skills. Little by little, Brooklyn began to open up and to heal.
At Boys Town, Brooklyn became part of a family of five other teenage girls who live with a married couple called Family-Teachers in a supportive and caring home.
Brooklyn learned how to take responsibility for her actions and get along with others. In time, she began to love just being a “regular kid” who went on family outings, played sports and sang in the choir. She especially enjoyed doing community service projects with other Boys Town kids.
While Brooklyn continued her journey of healing, her parents received much-needed help from Boys Town, too.
Whenever possible, our goal is to help kids stay with or return to their families, where they belong,” said Father Boes. “We worked with Brooklyn’s mom and dad so they could understand what tore their family apart and how to come back from that.
Boys Town helped Brooklyn’s mom with stress management and gave her dad pointers on resume building and job interviewing. Most importantly, her parents learned how to get help when things start feeling out of hand.
Eventually, everyone’s hard work paid off. Brooklyn completed her treatment plan, and her parents finished Boys Town Common Sense Parenting (CSP) classes.
When they were reunited as a family, many tears were shed, but this time they were happy ones!
Today, Brooklyn’s dad is back to work and her mom is less stressed and more attentive. Brooklyn has left her rebellious, painful past behind and is now on the school honor roll. She hopes to earn an academic scholarship to college. Her future is filled with hope and promise, and the bonds of family have never been stronger.
Brooklyn is just one of many children Boys Town has helped this year. But we need your help to save even more children and families. Any amount that you can give is greatly appreciated. It will make a tremendous difference in the life of an abused or neglected child and their family.
Please keep all of our children and families in your thoughts and prayers.
God’s blessings,
Father Steven E. Boes
National Executive Director

Voter suppression laws could disenfranchise 10,000,000 latino voters with a republican lead states who are identifying them through drivers licenses.
23 states are doing this. The margins in some of these states exceeds the number of votes needed to win the states.
This is our country too. Florida has set nearly impossible road blocks to voting by going after voters with latino sir names.

Dear Friend and Fellow Patriot:
Right now Obama and the Democrats are fighting the upcoming election battle in 12 critical swing states. We must respond right away or we will lose in November! Like you, I know that if we don’t defeat Obama and the Democrats now our country may never recover the freedom and prosperity that was the promise of this great nation.
WE HAVE A PLAN THAT WILL NOT ONLY DEFEAT OBAMA — BUT WILL HELP US TAKE BACK THE SENATE AS WELL!!
We have produced television ads to run nationwide (and concentrated in the battleground states) right now that will counter the Democrat attacks, including our latest punch “Obama Hasn’t Built Anything!” This ad will appeal to independent voters, and moderate Democrats — and expose the facts as to why Obama has failed to fix the economy.
Why Do Independent Voters Need to See Our “Obama Hasn’t Built Anything” Ad?
1. One of the reasons Obama is still in the race is because of his “likeability.” The general public, some of whom will be determining the outcome of this election, does not see the Barack Obama that we see, they only see the carefully crafted image that Democrats spinners and the mainstream media portray. This ad is designed to show Obama in an unfavorable light, but in a subtle way. One of Obama’s tactics has been class warfare, using divisive labels to tear down his opposition. This television ad (which you can view at GOPTrust.com) shows that Obama made millions in the government influence business.
2. Our ad not only portrays Obama as failure with the economy — it exposes the fact that while we Americans were getting poorer, he was getting richer. Obama likes to brag that he is wealthy, but his wealth came from government influence — he never created anything except the big lie about himself that helped him get elected.
Help Us Get This Ad Seen By Everyone in America!! Click Here to Donate!!
OUR TELEVISION ADS HAVE WON AWARDS FOR THEIR EFFECIVENESS. We may be the only organization that can stop the powerful Obama machine.
Here Are Some Other Ads We Will Be Airing NOW Until the Election!
Obamacare Tax Increase Ad
Incorporating Obama’s own words, combined with the words of his Solicitor General and Nancy Pelosi, this ad will up the ante for Obamacare and its namesake to defend himself this election.
Fast and Furious GOP Trust Ad
If Obama wants to lie about us, we will tell the truth about him!
New GOP Trust TV ad exposes Obama’s cover-up of the Fast and Furious scandal and raises questions about why Obama has refused to say what he knows.
Obama Political Ad: Fair Shot for Cronies — Naming Names Ad
Obama’s Cronyism Exposed! Obama took money the Middle Class to give to pay back his wealthy campaign supporters.
Bachmann Muslim Brotherhood Ad

Who Is The National Republican Trust PAC?
If you are not familiar with our name, you will be familiar with WHAT WE’VE DONE OVER THE LAST FOUR YEARS!
Here are just a few examples:
• Our famous Reverend Jeremiah Wright ads exposed Obama’s ties to the venomous preacher when others were afraid to attack.
• We were first in and last out during the debt ceiling fight producing and airing multiple TV ads and sending hundreds of thousands of letters to every member of Congress.
• Our national and local TV and radio campaign ads and independent expenditures have elected dozens of true conservative leaders at the state and federal levels.
• Our cutting edge documentary Breaking Point that aired nationwide and in dozens of key states contributed to critical Republican victories in 2010.
• We brought the issue of the Ground Zero Mosque into everyone’s living rooms and energized millions with our national TV ad.
• Our explosive book Shadow Government: What Obama Doesn’t Want You to Know About His Czars exposed Obama’s long list of radical czars and was the catalyst for public outrage, congressional hearings, and high profile resignations.
• Our investigative team exposed Obama’s stimulus money going to fund the Marxist Brecht Forum.
• Our investigative team also exposed the many lies Obama utilized during the healthcare debate.
• By blocking their attempts to pass Obamacare legitimately, our national and local TV and radio ads forced them to use illegitimate tactics, thus exposing Obama, Reid, and Pelosi.
• We fight Big Labor! Our union ad in Wisconsin was one of the most effective television ads EVER seen on TV. Pollster Frank Luntz said as much in a Fox News interview about our ad:
“We have been testing ads in Wisconsin for the last two months and almost all of them have failed… Either they appeal to Republican partisans or Democrat partisans but not both until the Republican Trust [GOP Trust] came in. This is one of the rare times in American politics today when a very clear, very tough message appeals across the political spectrum… They set the proper context… They set the proper tone.”
–Frank Luntz, Fox News Channel, America Live, 3/30/2011.
WE ARE THE PAC THAT GETS THE JOB DONE!
Please GO HERE to Support Our Many Efforts!
Together We Can STOP Obama’s Re-Election!!
When Republicans have been weak, we have stayed strong
in the face of the Democratic onslaught.
As you are probably aware, we have a great track record in exposing Democrat lies. Our Shock and Awe Campaign from the 2008 election made the entire country notice Obama’s 20 year relationship with his anti-American pastor Jeremiah Wright. We helped organize the Tea Party and we were the driving force behind the Republican takeover of the House of Representatives in the 2010 election. WE ARE THE REPUBLICANS YOU CAN TRUST!
The National Republican Trust PAC (GOPTrust) has been widely recognized by everyone in politics as the group that forces Democrats to change their strategy. We are not politicians — we are Americans who have been successful in other sectors responding to the political class in a logical way and saying the things that you would say if you had the opportunity.
Because of our team’s background and training in various aspects of intelligence and counterintelligence and dealing with insurgencies, we have laid out an effective strategy for defeating the insurgent far-left Democrats such as Obama.
In the 2010 election, we were the ONLY organization that spent more than we received in contributions. This means more than 100 percent of our 2010 donations went to the cause we are all fighting for- taking back our country.
GO HERE NOW To Help Us Get Our Plans Underway …or keep reading to see some of the highlights of what we are doing…
In addition to all this, we are working on other projects to take away some of Obama’s primary assets and make it harder for him to gain illegitimate advantage in the election:
1. Neutralize the Media
The so-called “mainstream media” is Obama and the Democrat’s fifth column and according to many analysts (from the Left and Right) the media gives Democrats up to a 10 point advantage in the polls. Republicans have not revealed a plan yet for dealing with the media, WE HAVE!
2. Fight Big Labor
Republicans have long been victims of outrageous political activities of Big Labor unions, which basically have come out and admitted to having a socialist orientation. Despite their massive funds and political power, we have been able to neutralize the power of unions like no one else has in the past.
Our union ad in Wisconsin was one of the most effective television ads EVER seen on TV, as seen in the previous quote from Pollster Frank Luntz earlier in this letter.
3. Counter Hollywood Propaganda
We already know that Obama’s Hollywood allies are making a movie about him killing Osama bin Laden. Obama’s shameful attempt to take absolute credit for Osama bin Laden’s death is un-presidential and is a slap in the face to the thousands of soldiers, sailors, and airmen for whom he has no respect.
We produced an ad to set the record straight and to take the killing of bin Laden off the political table for Democrats.
4. Defend the Tea Party
We are constantly being told by the media that the Tea Party movement is becoming increasingly unpopular. This is a well-orchestrated plan intended to delegitimize and suppress the effectiveness of the most powerful grassroots uprising in decades. The Left knows an energized Tea Party will lead to Obama’s defeat.
5. More Ads for More Conservatives
We must continue to produce and air our award winning TV and radio campaign ads in districts and states where we can elect true free market conservatives. Our independent expenditures have turned the tide for conservative candidates time and time again.
Now is the time for Action! Democrat strategists believe that Obama is vulnerable in this election and the right tactics will lead to his defeat. Time is of the essence as Obama rebuilds his grassroots organization and builds a trap to use in blaming Republicans for his failed economic policy.
The GOP Trust has a history of success in these efforts and we’re accountable only to you, our supporters and not to any special interest. In the 2010 election, we were the ONLY organization that spent more than we took in. This means more than 100 percent of our 2010 donations went to the cause of electing true conservatives.
Time is running out for us to inform undecided voters of the dangerous implications of a second-term for Obama! IF YOU ARE IN, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WITH A DONATION OF $100, $50, $25 — or whatever you can spare!

Together we will defeat Obama
AND TAKE BACK AMERICA!!
IF YOU ARE A BUSINESS OWNER or if you are an individual that is in a position to give more than $5,000, we have a SUPER PAC that can set up donations of any amount. There is no limit to this donation because of the new Supreme Court ruling. We can even accept corporate donations to the National Republican Super PAC can even accept corporate donations.

We live in Pennsylvania. My boyfriend Wayne is a latino. In my state the republicans are stopping one in six latinos from voting.
We are working with a group to get the state IDs the republicans are requiring. They claim they can fill our request in time for the election. That means more latinos will not be able to vote than the margin of victory.
So the number of votes suppressed are more that what is needed to win the state. This is horrible. I hope you can help Michelle.

CNN is just a small version of Fox. The recent use of Ambassador Christopher Stevens’ diary is an example.
You can rationalize your behavior any way you choose, but the simple facts are this:
You lied about your sources
You lied about when you found the journal
You used the information AFTER the family had asked you NOT to 4 times
You had agreed with the State Dept you would NOT use information
Now, you spin justifications because you got busted and look less credible now than FOX News.
Sorry Anderson, but your “Keeping Them Honest” doesn’t hold TRUE anymore.

The republicans are claiming the polls are wrong and Romney is closer than they say. They claim that their internal polls say Romney is within the margin of error.
The reason is they plan to steal the election and by claiming the race is within the margin of error, they are betting that the populace won’t be upset when they steal the states.

You are absolutely correct! We had media blasting the Administration for not rushing to declare this an attack of terrorism KNOWING they were gathering information and sources to be properly informed and not shoot off at the mouth.
And YET, CNN felt it was ok to withhold pertinent information in the journal of an Ambassador who was murdered? Spin Spin CNN, I find this disgusting and will never again watch that channel.

****** BREAKING NEWS ***** [CNN] DEFENDS The INDEFENSIBLE!! *****
A.C.’s attempt to defend that “reporter”? Whom I consider to be a GRAVE robber? — Neither he nor Anderson can distance themselves from that TOILET-BOWL they call a work place!
Jeeeez! We knew how LOW their RATINGS had sunk. Now we know just how LOW their staff has sunk, too! —
State Dept. spokesman, Philippe Reines, said it BEST on behalf of the family:
{“…Whose first instinct is to remove from a CRIME scene the ‘DIARY’ of a [man] killed, serving our country, [then] READS it, transcribes it, EMAIL it around your newsroom…and ONLY when their curiosity is ‘fully satisfied’, thinks to call the FAMILY…!?”}
[CNN] — which now stands for — [C]ount-Dracula [N]etwork of tabloid [N]ews! Because…
by the time they’ve SUCKED the ‘Life Force’ out of a news story — the only thing left is a decayed carcass — they “dress-up”, place in a teleprompter, to be READ! …
All I can say is…
Last ‘douc^e bag OUT…
won’t EVEN have to bother turning out the LIGHTS! ‘Cause, the “lights” have been OUT at [CNN] for decades!

he journalists first responsibility isn’t to US, it’s to the Ambassador’s family. They just wanted the story. Reports were out from the first day that this might have been in retaliation for the drone attack in Yemen that killed the Al Qaeda #2.
If I heard about it, then others did too. It’s irresponsible of the government to start spewing “facts” to the media when they don’t know all the facts.
The situation was chaos and the USA was still in a precarious situation dealing with the new Libyan government. The lack of security and CNNs behavior are two SEPARATE issues. Trying to amalgamate them does not absolve what CNN did.

..actually, ironelbow…..the press has been responsible for telling the public everything that they need to know about Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and the tea party congress…and it is a major reason that Obama is jumping so far out front in the polls.
Who doesn’t know that the house and senate were Democratic ’09-’10….and that the president got alot accomplished.
You may not appreciate The Affordable Care Act (no doubt, due to the fact that you have great health care and give not 1 whit whether anyone else does or not, like all Republicans) but it was a stunning piece of legislation that took 60 years to achieve.

The Right thinks the mainstream press coverage of Mr. Obama is too “easy” because they have grown accustomed to the bellicose, hyper-aggressive and highly partisan brand of propoganda that they view on Fox News and expect the rest of the media to conform to that standard and validate their psychosis.
They might try some objective news sources once in awhile….maybe BBC or the Washington Post and perhaps the mental inflammation that they are suffering from as a result of too much Fox will subside in a few days.
Or penicillin might work too.

The critical Republicans are the same that refuse to name their “dark money” donors, won’t examine Mitts tax records, continue to vote for interminable filibusters to shoot down any and all jobs programs for the last 4 years, and so on. Do we care that they are critical? No. Do we care that they are undemocratic? Yes. Let’s move on.

ok lets point something out… the ambassador to Libya was murdered by the taliban and Obama said for days it was because of a movie that came out several months ago…
it was also widly known that they knew it was going to happen yet he did nothing… and the media just let the white house spoon feed them the story.
One of our biggest allies is screaming for attention and obama has no time but goues to a fundraiser with Jay-z and sits doun in the oval office with a dude dressed up in a pirate outfit, and then goes on letterman.
If your only source of news is the networks then this is all a revelation to you…
September 25th, 2012 at 10:17 pm
Well yeah, unlike Fox News, the other REAL news networks would lose their license if they characterized the President as:
Fascist
Socialist
Muslim Sympathizer
Out to destroy America
Not understand our American way
Apologizing to terrorist
Not born here.
And if reputable news networks were using terms like, golden boy, chosen one, uppity, etc. like you hear on Fox on a weekly basis, the FCC would fine them. This, however, is the dirty little secret that Fox keeps hid.
Since they are NOT REGISTERED as “actual” news programming, they can say things that CNN, MSNBC, ABC etc. can’t say, hence, there “liberal media” charges.
Fox is propaganda, and half the nation is feeding off of that garbage.

Timothy, Taliban? You know they are a local group in Afghanistan, right? Libya is FAR away from there. There is no Taliban in Libya.
The Pirate picture was from 2009, it’s been widely vetted, Fox news retracted it. You have one NEWS source and it’s faulty. Insert 25 cents, try again. Also, get spellcheck, your education is showing.

Come on people be honest. You know that Romney doesn’t get the play the main stream media gives Obama.

My Little Red Corvette didn’t recognize her chassis as I was describing it to her. She simply said I’m sleepy and going to bed.
Okay, then, take that tight rear end, deep red paint job on those lips etc, etc to bed.
Me, I’ll just lay her and whip it.
September 25th, 2012 at 10:35 pm
Unfortunately, John, due to the fact that politics is pretty much professional wrestling monologues these days, and Romney is the gaffebot 5000 there isn’t really enough time in the day for the news cycle to cover the petty story of the President taking care of business.
Don’t worry republicans that’s for your own good… do you really want Obama looking presidential compared to Romney gaffing it up getting more coverage?
September 25th, 2012 at 10:52 pm
Obama going on “The View” instead of meeting with other world leaders reminds one of Nero fiddling while Rome was burning.

Me. I miss Howie and his Alien chronicles. Michelle can’t you ask Howie to come back?
September 25th, 2012 at 10:54 pm
I have every confidence that the President would have had meetings if he felt they were necessary and that they would be beneficial. Period.

Mmmmm… I love the way your penis grows when I’m around… Of course I know I own it but it’s still especially nice to see it happen, over and over again. Thanks for the tender loving.
