Good morning!
Well, since the holidays are here, and Black Friday is over, I guess I’ll start my shopping. :) I like to shop local and support the small stores as much as I can. And sometimes I find unique things on the net that aren’t from locals here but from locals somewhere else. In my mind, that’s okay too, as long as it is Made in the U.S.A., which as we all know is a challenge. But if you can find that label anywhere, it is going to be the smaller stores, not the big chain stores.
Anyway, while perusing the net this morning, with fashion and shopping on my mind, I came across an article about Obama’s Campaign Fashion Line. I read about it in the beginning of this year but didn’t give it much thought as I rarely have time to shop for myself these days. But I was intrigued so I clicked over. Little did I know how many designers were a part of this campaign, as well as some unknowns who submitted their designs. Plus, hey, they raised quite of bit of ca$h.
Here’s the write:
Obama Campaign Fashion Line Raises $40 Million
President Obama’s “Runway To Win” fashion line was roundly mocked by Republicans when it launched in the spring as a way to bolster the president’s reelection efforts. However, with the campaign over and fundraising totals in, Team Obama appears to be having the last laugh.
Obama campaign manger Jim Messina told Bloomberg Businessweek’s Joshua Greenthat the venture was a major boon for the president’s war chest.
“That ended up bringing in just north of $40 million,” he said.
The line, which featured clothes and accessories designed by fashion powerhouses like Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu and Vera Wang, was the brainchild of Vogue editor and Obama bundler Anna Wintour.
“I think the designers are going way beyond the call of duty, turning out tonight when they really ought to be back in their showrooms working,” Wintour said of the line in February. “I think it shows how devoted they are to the president that they’re all here tonight.”
Republicans quickly pounced on the campaign’s couture collaboration, blasting the president as out-of-touch with the average American family. The Republican National Committee launched a web ad mocking the line’s launch parties, hosted by Wintour and actress Scarlett Johnansson.
“Watching the Obama Campaign host a ritzy New York City fashion show while 12 million Americans are out of work? Priceless,” the ad said.
According to the New York Times, Obama’s campaign raised a total of $637.3 million throughout the 2012 cycle, versus Mitt Romney’s $388.1 million.

Oh, the GOP just wishes they had thought of this…but they didn’t. The big name designers sold out – no surprise. But the T-shirt designs from the Runway To Win challenge are still available.
Americans voted for their three favorites among the finalists. In addition to overall appeal, votes were based on: quality of workmanship, creativity, and how well the designs captured the spirit of the campaign.
Congratulations to the winning designers! To order a T-shirt featuring your favorite design, check out the official Runway to Win collection at the Obama 2012 store now.
Congratulations to the three winners of the Runway to Win Challenge: Phil Fung, Laurel Stender, and Lori Weitzner.
Readers: If you like what you see above and you’re interested in supporting these volunteer artists and designers from across the country who sent in their best designs inspired by President Obama, you can still purchase their T-shirts. Click on the T-shirts to buy. I thought these would be a great gift…and they are made in the U.S.A. What more of a reason do you need? Oh…and no I am not getting compensated for touting these tees. :)
Anna of Guam: How are you? I just have to say that after all these years it is still nice to see your name come up in the comments section. Thanks for sharing your Guam stories. I HOPE all is well with you and yours.
Happy Saturday Everyone!

Trick to Reduce Your Phone Bill
My colleague recently called his local phone company to cancel one of his two residential phone lines. The customer service rep said that dropping one line would reduce his $87 monthly bill—but only to $60.
My colleague had already visited the phone company’s Web site and determined that residential lines with unlimited local and long distance were offered at $42 a month.
When my colleague noted this, the rep discovered that not only was this lower rate available but that a special rebate could reduce the price to $34 per month for the first year—almost half the $60 initially quoted.
Phone reps sometimes overlook low-cost options…or are encouraged to push high-cost ones, says Allan Keiter, former president of the shopping comparison Web site MyRatePlan.com.
Keiter says my colleague’s strategy—searching for the best rates offered on a company’s Web site before calling—is wise. Also, check the company’s newspaper ads and mail solicitations for lower rates before dialing.
If the phone rep says that the low rate you found is available only to Internet customers, you always can hang up and sign up online. If the rep says that the low rate is only for new customers, ask if it could be given to you as a reward for your continued loyalty.
If the rep says no, say that you’re thinking about canceling your service and ask to speak to the customer-retention department. If there is no retention department, ask for a manager.
If you’re not offered an appealing rate, say that you will think it over, then call back and repeat the process with a different phone rep. It’s worth it—my colleague saved himself more than $300.

Barack Obama’s presidency is bringing to fruition the finalization of the League of Nations which is now the United Nations as a Global World Government complete with legislative, Military (NATO) and Judicial (World Court) branches. Communism without a firing a shot – in 1962 – your children’s children?
Yes, their time has come and Khrushchev – Warburg and others were way ahead of the game – a chess game played out with precision. Their goal of capturing America is at it’s 100 year anniversary now beginning with Edward Mandell House – the Progressive Party of 1912 and the Central Bank of 1913 – the infamous Federal Reserve – a major advancement in the Communist Manifesto.
The Communist rhetoric and thinking has penetrated every single facet of our society today.

John, please provide examples of anything Obama has done that in any way transfer power from the USA to the UN.
Please also give examples of anything Obama has done that show he has plans to implement Communism or even Socialism in the USA.
November 25th, 2012 at 7:07 am
John, the facts show that what is giving Communism all its power and control over America is the money they earn doing business with America.
The last time I checked it was your wealthy 1% that shipped all our jobs to the rest of the world so they could pay China and Vietnam and Russia to make our products.
So if anyone is ushering in as you say, “Communism without a firing a shot – in 1962 – your children’s children?”, It would be your Right wing greedy bastards.
Funny how I don’t hear you and your kind railing about them giving all that business, money and power to China. Guess it doesn’t fit your narrative, huh?
You sick white racist fucks will say anything to demean the black guy. Even if it means sacrificing the country to the white greedy fucks that are ruining it.

Latest CNN poll: 59% of Americans support Israel. 13% of Americans support Palestinians.
In what can only be called a statistical trouncing Americans see through the leftwing garbage and know in their hearts who is responsible for the escalation of violence between Israel and the Palestinian entity. My hat goes off to the American people.
November 25th, 2012 at 7:10 am
I had a response that said they are like rats referring to the Palestinians. They are not Rats they are people- like you or me.
Thats the problem- the Mindset. Email the White house and tell them to cut off all funding to Israel until the region is at Peace.

Pedar, would you have a problem with terrorists in Mexico firing rockets into the US and killing our people?
Would you tell our government not to retaliate and to let the terrorists continue to kill our citizens?
November 25th, 2012 at 7:16 am
Stevan, I would tell them that Peace starts with respect, understanding and acknowledgment of legitimacy and oh yea a place to live without being bullied and molested.
November 25th, 2012 at 7:22 am
Pedar, you talk about being bullied and molested. That is exactly what arab men in Gaza do to us all the time.
You hypocrites are always complaining about what happens to you. What about what you men are doing to us? I hope Israel bombs you int oblivion.
What difference does it mean to us women who kills us. At least the bombs of Israel will eliminate our oppressors.
We, the women, of muslim men would like “place to live without being bullied and molested.”
Find me and kill me if you can.

I am sure that Islaelis do not celebrate death of kids and women who are used as human shield by Hamas. I will never forget and forgive celebration on killing that occurred after September 11.
These people do not value human life, even their own. They do not care for the children, they bring them up in hatred, they let them due and use these deaths as propaganda.
Killed Palestinians are victims of Hamas.
November 25th, 2012 at 7:24 am
Pedar, you have no right to complain, when you throw a stone at me, and I throw a brick back at you, or you shoot at me with
a small gun and I shoot back at you with a cannon!
November 25th, 2012 at 7:26 am
Despite the fact that, Barack Obama has been re-elected, there is nothing that he can do about the situation, and the Zionist have “all the cards”, and the best weapons of mass destruction anywhere in the world outside America, and America is not interested in saving human beings who have been designated as only “worthy of death”.
Forget about all that talk about “we’re all Gods children”, because, thats only for Propaganda purposes, and in the real America, if you’re not white (christian/jew sympatico), then you’re exempted.
It saddens me tremendously, how few people know about the “crusades”, and the Lies written into scriptures about the hebrews/jews/israeli, and this ongoing Nonsense about ANYBODY (jews) being Gods chosen people.
The question is, how could anyone even consider that a Supreme Being would have “one People” exalted over Others, so that the cultural other could justifiably be exterminated??? Yes, I know where to find the words, but how the hell do I even consider that they are TRUE???
And Black People, poor Black People, where do these circumstances leave you/us, especially Christians in the mix, are you waiting to become white when you die, or are there some other special circumstances you have in MIND???
Will the REAL TERRIORIST STAND UP?

Israel wants the complete destruction of Gaza, so they have steal more lands and their destruction of Palestinians.
November 25th, 2012 at 7:41 am
It is the Palestinians and Hamas that have stated they wish to drive all the Jews into the sea and that they await the day when there are no more Jews. This is their official position.
Israel has made no such comments about the Palestinians.
November 25th, 2012 at 7:43 am
and this excuses Israeli massacre of Palestinians how?
November 26th, 2012 at 5:38 am
The top leader of Hamas dared Israel on Monday to launch a ground invasion of Gaza and dismissed diplomatic efforts to broker a cease-fire in the six-day-old conflict.
Hamas leader, Khaled Meshal told a news conference: “If you wanted to launch it, you would have done it.” He suggested that the Israeli infantry mobilization on the border with Gaza was a bluff. “..
hmm. I think Israel has in pointed what they intend to do if the ..
Meshal perhaps should rethink bluff statement.. as this juncture it is NOT a bluff!
