Cuts Across America

Good morning.

Budgets are statements of values and priorities. What the GOP is preparing to do in less than a week says a lot about their priorities. Instead of closing tax loopholes and making smart spending cuts, the GOP is going to let damaging across the board spending cuts kick in next Friday. These cuts will not only damage the economy, they’ll hurt individual families and communities across the country.

Check out what eliminating just two giveaways to the wealthy and corporation could pay for. For example, we could avoid painful cuts to investments in jobs and education just by ending a giveaway to corporate jet owners”

And we could stop harmful cuts to children and families with disabilities if we just stopped letting the wealthiest Americans get tax breaks for the vacation homes and yachts:

Instead of asking the wealthiest Americans and special interests like Big Oil and Wall Street to pay their fair share, Republicans are insisting that families, including the most vulnerable among us, shoulder the burden of reducing our deficit and debt.

BOTTOM LINE: There’s still a week left to avert the damaging and painful sequester cuts. All Republicans have to do is agree to a balanced approach that replaces the indiscriminate cuts with both new revenues and smarter, targeted spending cuts.

**********

It’s been awhile since I posted Obama’s Weekly Address. This past Saturday, the address was based on the coming Sequester. If you haven’t seen it, here it is:

And if you’re still unclear about exactly what is the Sequester, click here.

Readers: Friday is decision day. What will the republicans do?

Blog me.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. Does Homeowner’s Insurance Cover Spoiled Food?

    Q. Does homeowner’s insurance cover the cost of food that spoils during an extended power failure?

    A. These losses generally are covered, and the deductible often is lower than the policy’s standard deductible—sometimes just $100. In some policies, there’s no deductible at all. However, food spoilage coverage typically is capped at $500.

Don’t be reluctant to make food spoilage claims. Insurers almost never discontinue coverage or raise premiums because of spoilage claims. Take digital photos of the contents of the fridge and freezer before throwing spoiled food away in case you’re asked for evidence of your losses.

Lewis, that youtube video is an art installation by designer/artist of arousal dress, I would say that he is just doing that liberal Dutch artist thing, plays with unusual materials for play/art sake…I doubt he thinks his dress will be a big seller, it’s getting a lot of attention based on it’s name, implications, etc…mostly the texture changing with boost in heart rate.
There’ s one flaw to that, your heart rate can rise based on lots of things, fear being the biggest and most obvious : ) or is that a : (
If a dude is relying on your clothes going clear to see if his moves are working, he’s in big troub’s to begin with (and so are you), yes? lol…

As far as today’s post, priorities are with those with bucks holding onto them, they are youtube videos out there that make it look like if you are collecting welfare you’re clearly on holiday sipping pina coladas bc you’re receiving ‘free’ money, wait – what what??
No one on welfare is doing that unless they are involved in welfare fraud (and there’s lots of that being done, color of skin not the matter, it’s big, huge…) and then maybe you are on vacation, but I wouldn’t know…I’m just on the edge of the tax part that helps provide, I’m giving a work over with the tax women (who hates Obama and his fiscal policies bc she works with peeps like me and they’re all pissed)…ah well…that’s life…for now…

    Luv, Zen Lill

  4. Zen Lill Says:

PS I’m not pissed, just paying way more than planned…no I don’t like it, have to cut out certain types of luxuries & I’ll be driving my 10 yr old BMW longer than I’d planned to : )
& …yes I voted for it and I’m not sorry I did, not in the long term…ZL

Looks like the republicans are going back to the plan, -If you can get the votes honestly, STEAL them. Why are we still putting up with these criminals.

History has shown us that the majority of the white race is not only used to manipulating the voting rules to keep OTWs from voting, they will resort to violence for the purpose.

I live for the day when the numbers are different.

Lea, wow we went to the Academy together. I was about to send you this article in the SF GATE. http://www.sfgate.com/nation/article/Plan-to-rid-Guam-of-snake-invaders-4305166.php

So, how are you living among the snakes?, the reptile kind I mean.

White is still the epitome of beauty according to who else…White people. And some self-hating people of color. This is not shocking but it is irritating.

A Black model is not good enough to depict a African Queen so they do Blackface on a White model…only in a White person’s narrow scope of the world would they think this is okay.

Have we stepped back in time and landed in the 1950′s? Everywhere you turn, White people are freely pursuing their passions and aspirations while people of color are still running just to catch up.

Look at the Oscars, outside of Ang Lee winning and Denzel Washington being nominated, they may as well call them the White Awards instead of the Academy Awards.

You have a German/Austrian winning for a movie where the Black actors were ignored, two young White women winning who are just average at best …every major category was won by someone White.

In the news, if a little White girl or boy is missing, it’s the lead story, but if a person of color is missing, their family will be lucky if it’s even picked up and if it is, it’s the last story in the segment.

The Media, Fashion and Entertainment industries are full of crap. They aren’t any better than any of the others others out there, the only difference is they have a platform, talk a good game and go about business as usual.

Too bad they didn’t use Ajak Deng, she’s very beautiful. Maybe when they do a Nordic Queen they can use her.
