The GOP’s Same Same Plan To Steal The White House

GOP Plan to the Steal the White House is Back
(No shit)
Earlier this year, Republicans in several swing states unveiled sore loser plans to allocate their electoral college votes by congressional district or in some other proportional manner rather than the current winner-take-all system in place in 48 states. This would result in votes that would likely go to the Democratic nominee being pushed over into the GOP column. Tellingly, the GOP is not proposing to split the electoral votes of red states.
Had such a plan been in place in every swing state last year, Mitt Romney would most likely be president right now despite having lost the popular vote by nearly 5 MILLION votes.
Fortunately, massive outcry quickly killed this plan in Virginia, Florida, and other states where it reared its head.
Unfortunately, this GOP plan to steal the White House is now back in two key swing states:
Pennsylvania: 13 GOP state senators, including the senate majority leader, have formally introduced their electoral college rigging bill. Republicans need a total of 26 votes to pass the bill. They currently control the chamber and hold 27 seats total. As they also control the state house in Pennsylvania, the GOP could theoretically ram the bill through in as little as 4 days as soon as they have the votes to pass it. Pennsylvania has been at the forefront of recent efforts to rig the electoral college, with Republicans from Gov. Tom Corbett on down first considering this scheme way back in 2011.
Michigan: On Saturday, Republicans gathered for their state convention voted overwhelmingly (1370-132) to back a scheme to divide their state’s electoral votes by congressional district. For his part, Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R) has opposed the scheme, saying it’s not the “appropriate time” to consider it. This, however, is cold comfort, as Snyder once said the exact same thing about an anti-union bill that he later signed after it was rammed through the legislature with little debate.
BOTTOM LINE: If the GOP wants to win elections the old fashioned way — by winning more votes — then they should change their unpopular policies instead of trying to change the rules in the middle of the game.
*********
Readers: We already know and experience the damage the republicans can and will do to our country. To me the bottom line is, we should NEVER let the republicans win any election in any way, thereby giving them any amount of control.
Peace out.
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. HOWIE: Happy Birthday. Even though we had a free breakfast at Dennys together and spent the day and your ten feet away from me at this moment. I still wanted to express birthday wishes to you on Michelle’s blog. Hope you enjoy the gift I got you!
Your buddy,
Al

I’ll join you Al, this time a public Happy Birthday to you Howie.
I didn’t realize my ‘open sesame’ would get comments about my legs but : ) Okay. Henry, what is it you’d like to know exactly, I’ll do my best to answer any question while concurrently protecting my own privacy, so – shoot…!
Misch, I can’t wait to see that docu either, sounds amazing, think I’ll bring a dude with me : )
& there’s so much divisiveness going on in the political world, for me it’ll always be the ‘Amerikan 1 party with 2 heads system’, it’s very well thought out, if you can keep peeps arguing 2 party talking points with each other the true powers that be can manipulate people of influence, not to mention the markets, general perceptions, & possibly mass consciousness (good luck with that one, though there’s a certain amount of mind control in effect with our major media outlets at then helm), and etc…
..and yes, I’m guessing that at times being a girlZ has it’s privileges.

Hey, Tea Party Republicans Nihilist:
You didn’t get mad when the Supreme Court stopped a legal recount and appointed a President.
You didn’t get mad when Bush’s VP allowed Energy company officials to dictate energy policy.
You didn’t get mad when a covert CIA operative got outed.
You didn’t get mad when we illegally invaded a country that posed no threat to us.
You didn’t get mad when we spent over 4 trillion (and counting) on illegal war.
You didn’t get mad when over 10 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq.
You didn’t get mad when you saw the Abu Grahib photos.
You didn’t get mad when you found out we were torturing people.
You didn’t get mad when the national debt doubled under the previous President from $5.674 trillion to $10.024 trillion and has added over 4 trillion in ongoing expenses and interest since they lost.
You didn’t get mad when we didn’t catch Bin Laden in Tora Bora.
You didn’t get mad when we let a major US city drown!
You didn’t get mad when the deficit hit the trillion dollar mark and 800000 jobs a month were being shed, or when the GDP hit -9%
You finally got mad when the black man decided that people in America deserved the right to see a doctor if they are sick.
And you became livid when Obama caught up with bin Laden. So you get 4 more years to burn out all of your remaining credibility.

Hey Zen Lill,
Haven’t adressed you on this blog or E-mail lately, and I’m sorry bout that. But, I have been under the weather lately and it is a chore to even try and read, cannot focus for shit. Been thinking about you though. No, not like that, but I can,t say the thought has never crossed my mind, but incest is a no-no anyhow sister:)
Anyways you came down on me about Blackwater, and I agree that ex-soldiers get a bum deal from Uncle Sam. But mercenaries need have no loyalty to anyone and can’t be court martialed, and can flip flop to the highest bidder, just like most of our politians are doing lately.
And Halliburton, well don’t even want to get started about those fuckheads. Cheney’s boys one hundred percent, and because of that fact, that they could rob the treasury blind, this is the whole reason we attacked Irag in the first place, instead of tracking down Bin-Laden like normal countries attacked by him would have done. Couldn’t steal trillions doing that. I used to love to push nice a bush, still do, but now I would rather push a Bush of a high cliff. And that’s about all I got right now.
Michelle: Thank you for making Howies birthday known. He is awestruck at all the good wishes he got here. Here is a link to a petetion to stop the chopping of Medicaid, Medicare an Social Security benifits.
Tell House Democrats: Take Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security benefits off the chopping block.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be in the fight of our lives to save Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security benefits.
House Democrats can help take these programs off the chopping block by co-signing a letter written by progressive champions Rep. Alan Grayson and Rep. Mark Takano that draws a line in the sand on benefit cuts.

f MSNBC wasn’t censored from many local cable outlets, like it is, and had as much broadcast on outlets as Faux News, which seems to be on everywhere, FAux News would have even worse ratings. And MSNBC is kept off cable here and there by conservative right-wing owners of varioius cable outlets, because they don’t want to truth to be heard.

So, now that providing the correct number of jellybeans in a jar is no longer required then racism must no longer exist. Well, racism is alive and well in America and as rampant as ever. Yes, we have a black president but look at the treatment he received in his first term and despite all the racist and rancid tactics attempted by the TGOP to infringe upon the voting rights of ALL Americans Obama was reelected. Racism no longer a problem? Voting interference no longer exists? TGOP are fixed on doing everything they can to steal an election and hopefully Roberts will not give them carte blanc to fulfill that mission.election

What we are all witnessing in this country now is the swan song of the shallow racist white men trying to hold onto power.
This quote is from Theodore Parker, an abolitionist in the 1850s.
“I do not pretend to understand the moral universe; the arc is a long one, my eye reaches but little ways; I cannot calculate the curve and complete the figure by the experience of sight; I can divine it by conscience. And from what I see I am sure it bends towards justice.”
I sadly accept the fact that American institutionalized racism will not end in my lifetime.
The struggle goes on…

Roberts and the other Conservatives on the Court have a political agenda that makes them the most activist jurists this country has seen since post-Civil War days. The only hope for this country is that the Democrats continue to win the White House for the next 12 to 16 years and thus have the opportunity to rid the Court of the Justices that lend support to Roberts and his reactionary actions and the decisions that result from his actions.
It was Roberts efforts that created the path which brought the Citizens United case before the Court so that he could rule on it. Such activism illustrates the very definite agenda Roberts has and the role he wants the Court to play in shaping a Conservative America.

You’re the Man Howie. Happy Birthday.
February 27th, 2013 at 2:21 pm
Al a mode, understood, bro, no probs…if I don’t hear from you and/or Howie for a span that’s uncomfortable to me, I know what to do to check up on ya, not to worry ; )
….and I’ve forgotten how sensitive you are, sorry, was not exactly coming down on you in particular re: Blackwater. To me, when someone signs up for covert ops, just like a cop, you know the jig, and when you’re jig is up, you get what you signed up for, the same retirement basically that you agreed to – that day I was just a little ticked that all over FB I saw ‘conservatives’ posting about how that seal who killed Bin Laden was getting screwed over financially for risking his life for Obama’s ‘mission’, worded so the screwing is presumably (and inferred) to be done by Obama himself, how convenient.
But, wait what…oh, he SOLD his story, well we all know that’s a covert ops no-no, so yea, he gave up his rights to be protected and get his regular pension, what part of the Seal covert op contract did he miss, and I agree he could’ve gone on to make scads of money offering himself as a gun for hire to Blackwater. Paid mercenaries are not new, we just hired so many of them during Bush’s reign that it made all other military spending seem like a tame trip to Target.
I’ll refer now to Anon #3, yup, only now they come out of the woodwork to speak about what they’re mad about how the world is falling apart bc Michelle Obama took a vacation or some such nonsense as if Repubs watch all taxpayer dollars as if they were their very own, oh please…
Anon #3, also, they like to see what they want to see, as does everyone really, and Dems only F things up when they won’t show up with their game pair on! My new bumpersticker offering to Dems: ‘Have an election? Bring your game huevos!’
Lloyd, thanks.
…and I’m back to work on another tab here…then some sunshine bc I deserve it. Hope you all in the snowy regions are enjoying your shoveling : )

Racism is alive and doing very well in America. When Michelle Obama appeared on the Oscars, I’ve never heard such hate, vitriol and whining about a First Lady in my life.
February 27th, 2013 at 2:26 pm
Zen Lill, I agree if the greedy bastard didn’t try to cash in on his shooting Osama, he would be in good stead now.
February 27th, 2013 at 2:29 pm
Scalia is such an embarrassment to the Court. If it was up to him and his way of thinking, we’d still be living in pre-Civil War America. I wouldn’t be surprised if we next have a challenge to the Civil Rights Act and he uses the same language to strike it down – “perpetuation of racial entitlement.”

Using his own logic, Pat Robertson should have been stoned to death after election day
Earlier this year, theocrat Pat Robertson had “a conversation” with God in which The Almighty told him that not only President Obama would lose his reelection bid but that it would be a sweep for the GOP.
Since Robertson believes in biblical law and Deuteronomy 18:20-22 clearly states that any prophet who is wrong shall be put to death, shouldn’t Robertson advocate that he be stoned to death? Just wondering.

Facebook Is Spying on You
Six ways your privacy could be compromised
A billion people worldwide use Facebook to share details of their lives with their friends. Trouble is, they also might be unintentionally divulging matters they consider private—to friends…coworkers, clients and employers…marketing companies…and even to competitors, scammers and identity thieves.
Six ways Facebook could be compromising your private information and how to protect yourself…
1. The new Timeline format exposes your old mistakes. Timeline, introduced in late 2011, makes it easy for people to search back through your old Facebook posts, something that was very difficult to do in the past. That could expose private matters and embarrassing photos that you’ve long since forgotten posting.
What to do: To hide Timeline posts that you do not wish to be public, hold the cursor over the post, click the pencil icon that appears in the upper-right corner, then click “Hide from Timeline” or “Delete.”
2. Facebook apps steal personal details about you—even details that you specifically told Facebook you wished to keep private. Third-party apps are software applications available through Facebook but created by other companies. These include games and quizzes popular on Facebook such as FarmVille and Words with Friends, plus applications such as Skype, TripAdvisor and Yelp. Most Facebook apps are free—the companies that offer them make their money by harvesting personal details about users from their Facebook pages, then selling that information to advertisers.
Many apps collect only fairly innocuous information, such as age, hometown and gender, that probably is not secret. But others dig deep into Facebook data, even accessing information that you may have designated private, such as religious affiliation, political leanings and sexual orientation.
What to do: Read user agreements and privacy policies carefully to understand what information you are agreeing to share before signing up for any app. The free Internet tool Privacyscore is one way to evaluate the privacy policies of the apps you currently use (www.Facebook.com/privacyscore). You also can tighten privacy settings by clicking the lock icon in the upper-right-hand corner. Select “See More Settings,” then choose “Apps” from the left menu. Under “Apps You Use,” click “Edit” to see your privacy options.
3. Facebook “like” buttons spy on you—even when you don’t click on them. Each time you click a “like” button on a Web site, you broadcast your interest in a subject not just to your Facebook friends but also to Facebook and its advertising partners.
But if you’re a Facebook user and you visit a Web page that has a “like” button, Facebook will record that you visited that page even if you don’t click “like.” Facebook claims to keep Web-browsing habits private, but there’s no guarantee that the information won’t get out.
What to do: One way to prevent Facebook from knowing where you go online is to set your Web browser to block all cookies. Each browser has a different procedure for doing this, and you will have to re-enter your user ID and password each time you visit certain Web sites.
Alternatively, to eliminate cookies created during a specific browser session, you can use the “InPrivate Browsing” mode (Internet Explorer), “Incognito” mode (Google Chrome) or “Private Browsing” mode (Firefox and Safari).
There also are free plug-ins to stop Facebook from tracking you, such as Facebook Blocker (www.Webgraph.com/resources/facebookblocker).
4. “Social readers” tell your Facebook friends too much about your reading habits. Some sites, including The Washington Post and The Huffington Post, offer “social reader” Facebook tools. If you sign up for one, it will tell your Facebook friends what articles you read on the site.
Problem: The tools don’t share articles with your Facebook friends only when you click a “like” button—they share everything you read on the site.
What to do: If you’ve signed up for a social reader app, delete it. Click the lock icon in the upper-right-hand corner, select “See More Settings,” then choose “Apps” on the left. Locate the app, click the “X” and follow the directions to delete.
5. Photo and video tags can hurt you. They could let others see you in unflattering and unprofessional situations. If you work for a straight-laced employer or with conservative clients or you are in the job market, you already may realize that it’s unwise to post pictures of yourself in unprofessional and possibly embarrassing situations. But you may fail to consider that pictures that other people post of you also can hurt you.
A Facebook feature called photo tags has dramatically increased this risk. The tags make it easy for Facebook users to identify by name the people in photos they post, then link these photos to the Facebook pages of all users pictured.
What to do: Untag yourself from unflattering photos. Hold your cursor over the post, and click the pencil icon. Select “Report/Remove Tag,” then follow the directions to remove the tag. Enable review of all future photos you’re tagged in before they appear on your Timeline. Click the lock icon in the upper right, then “See More Settings” and select “Timeline and Tagging.” Then click “Edit” next to “Review posts friends tag you in before they appear on your Timeline,” and click “Enabled” on the drop-down menu.
6. Your Facebook friends—and those friends’ friends—may reveal too much about you. Even if you’re careful not to provide sensitive information about yourself on Facebook, those details could be exposed by the company you keep.
Example: A 2009 Massachusetts Institute of Technology study found it was possible to determine with great accuracy whether a man was gay. This was based on factors such as the percentage of his Facebook friends who were openly gay—even if this man did not disclose his sexual orientation himself.
If several of your Facebook friends list a potentially risky or unhealthy activity, such as smoking or bar hopping, among their interests—or include posts or pictures of themselves pursuing this interest—an insurer, college admissions officer, employer or potential employer might conclude that you likely enjoy this pursuit yourself.
What to do: Take a close look at the interests and activities mentioned by your Facebook friends. If more than a few of them discuss a dangerous hobby, glory in unprofessional behavior or are open about matters of sexual orientation or political or religious beliefs that you consider private, consider removing most or all of these people from your friends list or at least make your friends list private. Click your name in the upper right, then click “Friends,” then “Edit” and select “Only Me” from the drop-down menu.

Hafa adai, I am answering your question Barry on the blog. Yes, we celebrate African-American History month on Guam.
==================
U.S. Naval Base (NBG) Guam’s Multicultural Committee sponsored an African-American History Month ceremony for its military and civilian personnel in front of the Navy Exchange (NEX) in Santa Rita Feb. 22.
Lt. Col. Lorenzo Ray Phillips from the Joint Force Headquarters for the U.S. Army and Air Guam National Guard attended the event and said he thought African-American History Month is important to recognize as it sheds light on the past as it relates to current issues.
“It’s not just black history month, but the issues that people faced back then we some of those pieces happening here today,” he said. “We all need to recognize when we see that the human tendency is the majority alienates the minority. We need to work together to shape our viewpoints past the tendency and focus our efforts on teaching equality and diversity in a professional and intelligent fashion.”
Phillips added that diversity is important to recognize as it affects everyone.
“Martin Luther King said injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere,” he said. “If it doesn’t affect you directly it affects us all indirectly if you don’t handle it.”
A band made up of Sailors and a teacher from the Department of Defense Education Activity Guam District entertained attendees as they celebrated the contributions and accomplishments of African-Americans in today’s society.
“I thought it was good we were able to educate people about the African-American culture and heritage,” said Master-at-Arms 3rd Class (AW) Ellen Shifflett, NBG Multicultural Committee secretary.

ZL:
No problemo, and what ya mean “how sensitive I am”. Nothing taken personally. I believe that because the US has an Army, Airforce, Navy, and Marines including all kinds of special forces, that their should be no reason to hire mercenaries through Blackwater. And the army can feed and run itself without the need for help from Halliburton.
So why call me sensitive, you made me cry all day long. LOL
Al

Al, you can cry on my shoulders any day.
February 27th, 2013 at 6:01 pm
aw Al, I was referring to your comment to me ‘Anyways you came down on me about Blackwater, and I agree that ex-soldiers get a bum deal from Uncle Sam.’ I actually thought you meant that wording (came down on me) so just a miscommunication, my apology.
I agree with you totally though, all ex-military gets the bum’s rush once they’ve served but while their fervor is on, I guess they’re not paying any attention to the docs they sign indicating exactly what they’ll receive (legalese wording for bum’s rush especially if they’re injured bc them they’re a lifelong ‘liability’) too bad bc then they figure out that being a gun for hire is more lucrative than the pitance the gov’t expects them to live on after serving – ugh, our country needs a revamping, we’ve lost our ‘by the people, for the people’ part along with basic humanity/civility/manners 101, it’s ridiculous…and btw, you’re hilarious : ) luv your sense of humor.

AMERICA where are you now? Don’t you care about your sons and dauthers? Don’t you know WE NEED YOU NOW, won’t you help and tame or slay the monster? We have been infiltrated By a force so evil. Fuck it, it is hard to even care anymore.
Money and power are the trump cards in this world. With out the two you would be better off being some kind of wild animal like a pigeon or something. There are laws and rules for every thing and nobody is free here. It is all an illusion. This whole country should revolt against the tryany of the oppressive Govt.
By the people, for the people my fucking ass. It is all a lie, racism was designed to keep us apart, fighting amongst ourselves, while the MONSTER grows and grows while we are not looking, don’t fall for it. I am not long for this world, and this world is falling apart, and not long for me.
I’m so damn frustrated I could pull my hair out. Is there no integrity left on capital hill, I know there are still many good people? Goddamn it, I’m mad as hell and can’t take this shit anymore. Oh, and the monster has a name. GREED is it’s name.
I hope that it is all over soon, a slow death sucks so bad. Hate to be the one to tell you all, but it ain’t ever going to get any better here for those already in the monster’s grip. And it is swallowing up the human race at an ever increasing rate.
This is still America, but America is not worth a fuck anymore unless you got lots and lots of cheese. We have all been sold out, but what can you expect from a country that went to war so that it could keep people as slaves. Well we need another civil war to slay the monster.
