‘….there are jewels in everything we do even if they are very small and we can’t see them immediately.’

Posted by Michelle Moquin on December 1st, 2008

Well…I’ve been perusing the net looking for something to inspire a write and I have to say that I have come up totally empty. I have not been watching the news AT ALL, as I have been working like a dog. And let me tell you, ‘dog’ is the operative word here.

Remember when I said awhile ago how I was a woman who was blessed with not having to work? Or at least not having to work at something that didn’t inspire me?  I always jokingly said that I was a ‘stay at home mom with no kids.’ – that was me. Actually I am a woman looking to be inspired by a new career or even the old one…as long as it is exciting, and I am passionate about it.  I have been blessed to work in a field that I love for my entire young life, and I am not about to change that.

But today, like many others in this sucky economy,  I have had to go out and get a second job…immediately. Yes the economy is affecting this girl too.  I am a working girl now with two part time jobs and sadly, very little pay.  But hey, I am grateful that I landed something even if it is not my ideal situation. I have learned from the past that all of my experiences in my life have lead to the totality of the person that I am today. This one will too. And yes I believe that there are jewels in everything we do even if they are very small and we can’t see them immediately.

So this new job may lead to a new career or it may just be a ‘job’ for awhile. Time will tell and so will my attitude. So far I am enjoying it in spite of the modest pay (ugh!), and as I said…I am testing the waters…is this for me?  It is quite humbling.  I am seeing this position as a new part in the play of my life, and this scene may end quickly or drag on.

Therefore, a good positive attitude is the utmost of importance. I try not to get too wrapped up in it all, and just find the jewel. Sometimes it means faking it.  Hence the saying, ‘fake it till you make it.’

My life is pretty strange at times and things change pretty quickly…sometimes daily and sometimes even hourly.  Yesterday’s upset is not a concern today…and today’s happiness…well….like I have said before, ‘happiness’ is a state of mind’…

In the mean time I have hired head hunters in my design field to actively ‘hook me up’ with employers looking for a candidate such as myself.  The next scene is coming up – Wish me luck!

Hi Kristin:  I don’t know how to answer your question. The insanity continues in many other forms today. And there are still barbaric acts of genocide happening all over the world. You can’t take away what has happened in the past but you can learn from them and you can be a voice…a participant in stopping the atrocities that are happening now.

Hi Ratnavali: As I mentioned, I am behind in the happenings of the world right now. I am in survival mode myself and doing the best that I can to keep in touch with the time that I have. Regardless, I have been advised to lay low at this present moment. Believe me, I wish that I could do more.  ’Hang in there’ seems to be the phrase I am using these days. :)

Peace out…

Gratefully your blog host,

Hey Mischa, yes I’ve been caught up ‘dialing for dollars’ myself, hahaha…humbling little jewel of a thing to do but people are telling me it’s nice to hear my voice so it actually is a ‘jewel’ thing, now are they writing me checks yet??

Over Thanksgiving week I left a vmail message asking for people to tell me what they’re grateful for other than knowing me : ) hee hee, the response to it was excellent, with one exception ‘I’ll BE thankful when you finally return my f**king calls’ ah yeah, oopsie, hahaha, I rerecorded today without the holiday thing just to keep the gratitude attitude going. My blog today is ‘thank therapy’ in honor of ‘gratitude attitudes’ check it out…or not…I’m grateful to be here again either way ; )

FYI, the last time I ate meat was at your place! Happy cow in June/July(?) was it, that’s not by design just have had no hankering lately but I’m a big seafood eater anyway. It’s all about omega 3′s BABE : ) just thinking about this makes me want a petite filet mignon, yum…maybe manana…

    Where is my sweet pea?

And wtf is going to happen w/Mumbai/Paki situation?? Can anyone answer that? How can a city of 18 mmillion NOT have a SWAT team, eyeyiyi…

Ok, have to run and deliver clothing orders, yes I dial for dollars and I deliver in person – f**k – oh wait, I didn’t mean that, it’s just another ‘jewel’ tee hee, forgot for a sec ; )

    Luv, Zen Lill
