Repubs Just Won’t Give Up On Trying To Repeal The ACA

Good morning!

Irene: Uh huh girl. You go. Tell it like it is.

11k7L43: My mother said those same words, sans the Dallas part.

Luis: Like the saying goes, and I am totally off base on this but you’ll get the gist of it – “when you don’t help your neighbors in their time of need, who is going to help you when you need help?” It seems Inhofe and Coburn thought giving Sandy relief was “wasteful spending” when it came to helping their neighbors. No doubt their hands will be asking for help now too.

Danielle: Thank you. I feel that sometimes I post too many articles and don’t write enough. But hey, there are good writers saying lots of important things so reposting them is much more important than what I have to say most of the time. And believe me when I have something to say, I will say it regardless of whether it is good writing or not. Thanks for your support.

So speaking of reposting articles, here is the write du jour from the Huff Po:

What’s At Stake if the Health Law Is Repealed

More than three years ago, Congress passed the Affordable Care Act and President Obama signed it into law. Last year, the Supreme Court upheld it. Millions of Americans have already benefited from its provisions, and millions more are looking forward to benefits that will soon go into effect. And in November, the American people re-elected the president as an affirmation of the law’s promise that no person should go broke if they get sick.

Yet today, for nearly the 40th time since it’s been the law of the land, House Republicans staged yet another repeal vote in their latest attempt to turn back the clock on progress and deny Americans health insurance coverage they can count on.

Here’s what Americans would lose if repeal actually happened:

    • Repeal Decreases Access to Quality Care. The 6.6 million young people from South Carolina to Ohio to Utah who have gained coverage under their parents’ health plans up to age 26 would lose that option. Insurance companies in many states could return to the days of refusing coverage to 17 million children living with a pre-existing condition like diabetes or asthma. For the 129 million Americans across the country living with a pre-existing condition, repeal would take away the security of knowing that, beginning next year, their health coverage can’t be revoked or denied. Repeal would also eliminate the free, critical preventive vaccines, flu shots, contraception, mammograms, and other screenings that have already helped 71 million Americans stay healthy and active.
    • Repeal Hurts Seniors and Undermines Medicare. For America’s seniors, from Florida to Oklahoma to Nevada, repeal would increase medical costs by hundreds of dollars a month at a time when they could least afford it. It would eliminate the discounts that have brought 6.1 million of them an average savings of $706 on their prescription drugs, enough to cover the cost of several months of groceries. Nearly 50 million Medicare beneficiaries from Virginia to Kentucky to Idaho would lose access to free, life-saving preventive care, including cancer screenings and annual wellness visits. And repeal would undo ambitious delivery reforms that have helped reduce projected Medicare spending by hundreds of millions of dollars over the next ten years.
    • Repeal Raises Taxes on the Middle Class and Small Businesses, and Increases Our Deficit. Starting next year, 18 million middle-class families across the country the country would be denied access to a tax credit averaging $4,000 each that would make it easier to purchase health insurance. Small businesses from Pennsylvania to Louisiana would also lose access to tax credits that are already helping to provide coverage for 2 million American workers. And repeal would increase the deficit by $100 billion over the next ten years.
    • Repeal Returns Unchecked Power to Insurance Companies. The law has slowed the growth of premium increases by doing away with the worst insurance company abuses. Nearly 13 million individuals and families have saved an average of $150 due to a new rule requiring more premium dollars to be spent on delivering actual care instead of on overhead costs and CEO salaries. Insurance companies must also now publicly justify all premium increases of 10 percent or more. Those two provisions alone have already produced more than $2 billion in rebates for millions of Americans who are privately insured. Repealing the law would return the power of unchecked premium increases back to insurance companies in states that haven’t set up their own protections.
    • Repeals Denies Women Control Over Their Own Health Care. For American women in every corner of the country, repeal would bring us back to the days when simply being a woman was a pre-existing condition. Insurers would once again be able to charge women far more than men pay for the same health benefits.

By refighting old battles and reopening old wounds, repeal efforts would take away the peace of mind that affordable health insurance provides for the millions of Americans who can’t afford to go back to the way things were.

For the majority of Americans who already have insurance, the law makes it stronger. And for 25 million Americans who lack the security of health coverage, expanded Medicaid in many states and new Health Insurance Marketplaces opening for enrollment in every state this fall will finally give them access to coverage that fits their budget and meets their health needs.

Because of the law, we’re increasing access to affordable care, slowing premium increases, and bringing down health spending growth to its slowest rate in half a century. We’re making health insurance work for small businesses, and providing the strongest consumer protections in history.

We know our health care system’s problems weren’t created overnight, and they won’t be solved overnight. But Americans are far better off today than they would be without the health care law. And while we work to implement and strengthen the law, it’s clear we’re moving our health care system in the right direction. We simply can’t afford to turn back now.

****

Readers:  Just who is supporting the repubs when they could care less about our health that they would try almost 40 times to repeal ACA? No answer needed, we already know.

    The Ultimate Alzheimer’s-Fighting Diet

Eating the right foods may cut your dementia risk by 40%

Can you really prevent Alzheimer’s disease by eating certain foods? Research is not yet definitive, but there is mounting evidence that certain foods can indeed reduce dementia risk or delay the onset of symptoms.

    New finding:
In a recent analysis published in Annals of Neurology, researchers who reviewed the diets of more than 2,000 older adults discovered that those who ate ample amounts of fatty fish and certain vegetables, such as leafy greens, were about 40% less likely to develop Alzheimer’s or some other type of dementia than those who ate less of those brain-healthy foods.

The sooner you start eating a brain-healthy diet, the better—Alzheimer’s is believed to develop over decades. But even if you’re an older adult, I firmly believe that eating the foods described in this article is one of the best ways to improve your odds of staying mentally sharp.

    THE “ORAC” POWERHOUSES
Alzheimer’s disease seems to be caused, in part, by oxidative stress—the disease-causing cellular process triggered by unstable molecules known as free radicals. One way to decrease oxidative stress is to eat antioxidant-rich foods.

In laboratory studies, animals that have been genetically engineered to develop Alzheimer’s disease show lower rates of cognitive decline when they consume more antioxidants. It is likely that humans get the same benefits.

For overall health, researchers recommend a daily diet that includes 3,000 to 5,000 oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) units (a measure of antioxidant activity).

    Where to start…
Load up on the right kind of vegetables. The Chicago Health and Aging Project, a study of aging and dementia that involved more than 6,000 participants, found that those who ate two to four servings of leafy green, yellow or cruciferous vegetables daily were significantly less likely to suffer from cognitive declines than those who ate less.

    Best:
Kale is an ORAC powerhouse with 1,770 units per one-and-a-half-cup serving. Spinach has 1,260 units. In general, the darker-colored vegetables—such as Brussels sprouts, broccoli and acorn squash—have the most antioxidants. You should have at least three servings each day.

    Important:
Many of the nutrients and antioxidants contained in vegetables are destroyed by high-heat cooking (such as boiling and lengthy steaming). Therefore, I recommend lightly sautéing vegetables in a little olive oil.

The oil provides additional antioxidants and improves the body’s absorption of fat-soluble antioxidants, such as beta-carotene.
    Use more spices.

Believe it or not, spices are the most concentrated sources of antioxidants in the kitchen. In fact, just one teaspoon of cinnamon has more antioxidants than a serving of vegetables.

Another very high antioxidant spice is turmeric, which gets a lot of attention for its brain-protective effects.

    Important fact:
In India, where curries and other dishes seasoned with turmeric are eaten almost every day, the rate of Alzheimer’s disease is among the lowest in the world.

However, other high-antioxidant spices, such as cloves, oregano, thyme and rosemary, are also worth adding to your diet. Although there’s no definitive research showing how much of these spices you need to consume for brain health, it’s reasonable to add as much as your taste buds permit in as many dishes as possible.

Be choosy about the fruit you eat. Fruit consumption, in general, does not appear to lower the incidence of cognitive decline or Alzheimer’s disease. That’s probably because most fruits have a much lower concentration of antioxidants than vegetables.

Blueberries are a well-known exception to this rule. But there are other antioxidant powerhouse fruits, such as cherries and acai fruit (a slightly tart berry), that are often overlooked. So for an excellent antioxidant boost, have one cup of any type of fresh or frozen berries (including raspberries and blackberries).

    Helpful:
Juice (with no added sugar) is a good way to include more berry antioxidants in your diet. Pomegranate, blueberry, grape and acai juices are all high in brain-protective polyphenols.

Orange and pineapple juices are high in vitamin C but don’t seem to protect against Alzheimer’s—the high sugar levels of these juices aren’t offset by enough benefits to justify drinking them.

    My approach:
I drink a six-ounce glass of unsweetened pomegranate juice every day. That’s because studies suggest that pomegranate juice, in particular, reduces levels of beta-amyloid, the protein that accumulates in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients.

Apple and cherry juices also have been shown to reduce beta-amyloid levels. Grape juice is another good choice. Along with red wine, it contains resveratrol, a compound believed to break down the amyloid protein.

    Don’t forget tea.
Tea is possibly the most effective beverage for brain health. A study that looked at more than 1,000 elderly Japanese participants found that those who drank two cups of green tea daily had far lower rates of cognitive decline than those who drank three or fewer cups a week.

Green tea has epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), an antioxidant that seems to be particularly effective for neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s.

If you don’t like green tea, drink black tea—it also contains significant levels of EGCG—or coffee. Both lower risk for Alzheimer’s to a somewhat lesser extent than green tea.

Put fatty fish on your menu. By now, most people have gotten the message that eating fish is good for your brain. But not all types have this effect. Lean fish, such as cod, flounder, halibut, sole and haddock, are not the best choices.

That’s because it’s the high levels of omega-3 fatty acids in cold-water fish (such as herring, mackerel and sardines) that offer brain protection. These healthful fats are so beneficial that you should buy the fattiest fish you can find.

Herring, mackerel and sardines are the fattiest. Salmon, another fatty fish, is also an excellent source of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Brain cells require DHA, a type of omega-3, to maintain their integrity—a breakdown of these cells is the hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease.

    Important:
I advise patients to eat a three-ounce (or larger) serving of fatty fish at least three times a week—just lightly sauté the fish in olive oil, bake or broil.

At the same time, I suggest decreasing one’s intake of saturated fat and processed foods (which tend to be high in soybean oil and other unhealthy fats, including omega-6s).

People who do this can achieve the recommended ratio of one part omega-3s for every three parts of omega-6s—optimal for preventing Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

  4. Robert, RT Says:

So now we know that the question is not how many groups were denied a 501(c4)

An administration does Not have the power to change the meaning of the law before enacting the law.

The law says that a group must operate EXCLUSIVELY for the public welfare, not Primarily for the public welfare. The Difference is…

Exclusively means 100% while Primarily means only 51%. Big difference, eh. I mean one says you can have no political affiliation, but under the IRS changed meaning of the law can be 49% political and still be a non-profit.

Once again white justice means they don’t have to observe the law the rest of us are compelled to by jail time.

Nice entitlement, if you can get it.

    Robert,RT

  5. AC Says:

Republicans are framing repeal as something that voters want and have demanded. This is incorrect. Repealing healthcare reform is the last thing that struggling Americans need or want. When individual protections in the health insurance law are described, nearly two-thirds of Americans do not want them taken away. [CNN/Opinion Research Poll, 12/17-19/2010]

  6. IM Says:

Republicans are also hypocrites when it comes to the deficit. House Republicans claim they want to reduce government spending and shrink the deficit.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimates the Affordable Care Act will cut the deficit by roughly $143 billion over the next 10 years.

House Republicans’ plan to repeal healthcare reform would increase the deficit by approximately $230 billion by 2021, according to a preliminary analysis from the Congressional Budget Office.

  7. TJ Says:

All you need to be is a lying (Tawana Brawley and Duke lacrosse rape case fiasco) crook (Al Sharpton), who still hasn’t settled the judgemnet against him in the Brawley case, and a blithering idiot (Chris Mathews) whose leg tingles at the thought of a socialist president, air head harpie (Rachael Maddow), and you too can besome a star on the least watched netrwork in TV history.

Maybe if you are an America hating, want to be terrorist, you can apply to be thier next hot anchor. I’m sure MSNBC would love to have a chance to air your point of view.

If it weren’t for the parent company’s money, these blatherers would have been jobless, as they should be. Local radio swap-shop shows have bigger audiences than these dumb-asses, so why do does anyone keep giving them space.

  8. Amber Says:

I don’t know why you people are so upset you voted many, many times. In the last election, the same people voted over and over for Obama.

One place even gave him 140 percent of the votes. I guess I am getting old. When I was in school 100 percent was as high as you could go.

  9. 4USA2 Says:

Bravo House of Representatives! Maybe they know something WE PEOPLE are not being told; “what is in the 13,000 plus, additional pages that Kathleen Sibelius has added to the Obamacare bill?”

Frankly I don’t think most of us even know what is in the original 2700 pages….but I do know, surprise taxes are starting to trickle out! If anybody knows what’s in the additional amendments and regulations that Sibelius has added, please share your knowledge!

And don’t forget that “amendments” in particular, change something on another page so it’s a little tricky to get the bottom line. I think we are smart people but we’ve been duped on this bill! But if you do know what all those changes do, please post it.

AND THEN …Contact your Congressmen/women and tell them thanks for voting to repeal the bill. We know it won’t get repealed by the Senate but wouldn’t hurt to contact your state Senators and ASK WHAT IS IN THE 13,000 additional pages of amendments and regulations!

  12. Larry Says:

Sorry Zen Lill, I will have to disagree with you. You are a main attraction.

  13. Charles Says:

Zen Lill, you are no sidebar. I am looking forward to your contribution. Hurry Michelle, I am purchasing a new copy machine so I can make good copies.

  14. Judy Says:

Where is the public outrage about the ineptness of the Congressional Republicans? Why aren’t people marching on Congress and demanding better?

What is wrong with us that we continue to allow ourselves to be mistreated by the elected officials who are supposed to be doing the “people’s business” as opposed to doing the business of corporate greed?

Does a vast majority of the American public have the “battered woman” syndrome when it comes to keeping idiots in Congress? What does allowing this kind of misbehavior to go on and on and on for years say about us “as a people?” (Personally, I don’t know which I am the more frustrated with: the willful ignorance of the American public or the mean-spiritedness of the Congress.)

  15. David Says:

I can’t add much to what’s already been said. It’s Koch Industries that fuels this outrage. They want to privatize this country so that the government has no say in what happens. THAT, my friends, is Democracy in action. Too bad this isn’t a democracy.

It’s a Republic where the government is there to protect the majority AND the minority. Unless and until corporations and billionaires get out of our government we’re going to have this kind of waste.

Does no one ask why, since the Teathuglikkkons took office there has been not one single jobs bill passed or even brought up for vote? Because they want the black man out of the White House.

Pure and simple. The Tea Party consists, primarily, of members of the KKK. So you go ahead and vote your conscience and if it means 4 more years of Boehner and his crowd, you’ll get what you deserve.

  16. Muff Says:

This is corporate welfare…I think corporations should reimburse the public for the wasted time by GOP. Might as well bill them directly as it is more expensive then lobbying and campaign contributions.. Raise the cost of legislation carried out in the name of the corporations

  17. RA Says:

How many jobs would $50 MILLION have paid for??

The (R) ran for Congress in 2010 on an incessant drumbeat of JOBS JOBS JOBS… and fooled the public into believing it.

They have passed NO jobs legislation in TWO YEARS.

  18. Jay Says:

I suppose the only alternative the Republicans could offer to the healthcare law is a voucher-based system much like Rep. Ryan’s plan to make Medicare a voucher system.

The main drawback to this is that the government would be spending more money by issuing vouchers than the current law which has individuals paying for healthcare.

As with most things, the GOP hasn’t thought out this course of action.

  19. Albert Says:

    David;

They may get what they deserve, but I don’t deserve their crap, and we’ve been suffering because of their decisions for years.

The “you get what you deserve” constantly forgets that not everyone voted for the Republicans, and that some of us worked hard, for instance, in 2010

  20. Annette Says:

I live in South Dakota, with in a retirement community and something is different this year… A lot of seniors are a little worried about their medicare under republicans.

  21. Dan Says:

Just wanted yall to know that my wife went to her annual check up yesterday and when she went to pay the copay she was told that they had stopped collecting copays for annual well visits and that was part of Obamacare.

YES! It’s finally going to get out that this is something that is going to benefit EVERYBODY. Not just the poor, or the uninsured, or the migrant workers, or the communists, or whatever group the GOP can think of to demonize. My wife was visably pissed off.

Her exact words were, “Why isn’t Obama telling us about this bill!?” sadly that’s very true. There is an information vaccume and the GOP fills it everyday with lies. The true story a out this law and who it benefits NEEDS TO BE TOLD

  22. Albert Says:

    Jay:

I think they have, and it can be argued that they’ve thought out every step of the way… their problem is that there are too many people “out there” who still can think logically and critically, and we oppose them and point out these flaws.

Regarding the vouchers… one of the ultimate goals of the Republicans is to turn over all “aid” to the churches. By switching to a voucher system, they can accomplish that because people could feed more money into religious organizations (who would set up “clinics” where they pray the illness away as an example).

Then because it wasn’t as efficient as they’d mislead people into thinking, they’d get the support for doing away with Medicare and Medicaid altogether while advocating that the churches could do a better job (in spite of all of the evidence that would be a total failure and make people worse).

They’re counting on people having short memories (admittedly a lot do because they haven’t been trained to think).

They are, Dan! But only if you watch C-Span will you see them in action…

Again, the MSM is not going to show Democrats telling all citizens what is being said on the floor because MSM are owned by big, conservative corporate interest…that’s how it works, that’s how it is spelled out, but…if CBS is breaking away, this might give others courage to start talkin’…

It would be a dream come true if one of the mainstream media would finally start telling the truth to the American people. I’d bet that their “numbers”… their share of the viewing “public” would explode if they did so, especially if they provided the proof that we’ve seen, supporting what we’ve said.

  25. Singh Says:

we can only hope the media peleton does their job and doesn’t let politcial radicals, like Cantor win anything on any day…do your job media!

  26. Conservative Heart Says:

33 votes to repeal ObamaSUCKS is not excessive. It is poignant and symbolic! We’ve now voted more times to repeal ObamaSUCKS than people have teeth. This is to show the great American people that Republicans will not be happy until our great citizens have the choice and freedom to rotting mouthful of teeth and zero access to affordable health care.

I think what we did just screams PATRIOTISM!

Wanna know what’s excessive? EVEN ONE SINGLE VOTE on a jobs bill. Americans also have the freedom to not have a job and not be able to pay bills.

Remember, kiddies, come November, the Republicans stand for freedom and patriotism!

  27. Kim Says:

Maybe some in the MSM are starting to take notice that the GOP policies are affecting them, their families, friends and their communities and are now stepping up to point out the truth that the GOP doesn’t care about the American people.

If we continue down the path that the GOP wants for this country we will be destroyed or end up in an ugly civil war. Many people are suffering out there and the only thing the GOP cares about is shaming the President and solidifying their power.

The curtain appears to slowly being opened to exposing the GOP to be the corporate whores they are. And I wouldn’t mind the corporate Democratic party members being shamed either.

  28. Katherine Says:

Thanks, Conservative Heart. Finally!!! Someone with whose sarcasm I utterly agree. Good post.

  29. Lilly Says:

Thanks Michelle, for keeping us informed. just think how many JOBS could be created with that money that they WASTE! the ACA must be good or they wouldn;t be so hard up to destroy it!

I really cannot see how anyone can even think to vote republican today. Who are you people that like the RW? who are you? and what kind of uncilized beings are you that you don’t mind the destruction they are doing to YOU ME and every MAN WOMAN AND CHILD IN AMERICA!

Who are you people and why do you do this to us all? just for your PARTY who plans to give or do NOTHING FOR YOU. What part of that aren’t you seeing?

  30. Gary Says:

Ok “patient centered care” and “one step at a time” is what have been tried since even before the keep trying trickle down knowing it hasn’t worked either.

Then they vote to take billions from SNAP. These people aren’t even trying to hide the hate for working America, but working America is on board with them. What is up with that?

    Breakthroughs in Cancer Care

With cancer at epidemic levels, it’s important to know your medical options. The good news is that there is more help available than traditional doctors and oncologists offer. And best of all, these innovative, effective methods are far easier on the patient than anything offered by conventional medicine

    Dear Reader,

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with cancer, I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read this issue. Even if you don’t have cancer, you should be aware of what I’m about to share, because this is the kind of information you won’t hear from other sources and certainly not traditional doctors.

Cancer is currently at epidemic levels. The American Cancer Society estimates that 1 in every 2 men and 1 in every 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer over their lifetime. Those are not encouraging statistics, but there is a silver lining here. Let me tell you about it.

Conventional cancer treatment consists of three basic strategies – surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. But here is what you need to know – there are other, highly effective options for treating cancer.

While most traditional oncologists (doctors who specialize in treating cancer) will not mention these therapies, integrative physicians have taken cancer care to an entirely new level, with gentle, innovative, life-sparing treatments.

While these techniques and treatments are changing the face of cancer care, most people are not yet aware that they are available. That’s why I hope you’ll read this issue. You may not need the information now, but we all know there are no guarantees in life, and cancer is an equal opportunity disease, striking young, old, rich, poor, men, and women equally.

A Better Way To Use Chemotherapy

The first thing I’d like to talk is about chemotherapy, because I want you to know about revolutionary changes that have made it far more user friendly. No doubt you’ve heard horror stories about chemotherapy, including nausea, vomiting, hair loss, ulcers, and other devastating side effects.

As a physician and medical director of Oasis of Hope, a state-of-the-art cancer clinic in Irvine, California, I consider chemotherapy a useful tool, but one that is widely overused and misused. Conventional medicine overwhelms the patient with chemo. Generally, the goal is to reduce the size of the tumor, but there are two things wrong with this approach.

First, the drugs used in chemotherapy are highly poisonous to all cells in the body, not just cancer cells. This method “fries” cells throughout the body, damaging the DNA in very unhealthy ways, and often leaving survivors to deal with devastating changes to other organs.

Second, this scorched earth method of treating the disease is not necessary, nor does it work very well. For example, a 2004 study revealed that adding chemotherapy to radiation and surgery increased a patient’s 5-year survival odds by just a fraction over 2%! Those are not promising statistics.

By contrast, I’ve gotten very impressive results for my patients using Insulin Potentiated Targeted Low Dose (IPTLD) chemotherapy, a method that requires only 10% of the amount of chemo drugs of standard treatment. Currently, as far as I know, I’m the only female doctor in the United States treating patients with this innovative technique, even though it has been around since the 1940s.

With IPTLD, patients avoid all the downsides of chemo — and yet they get even better results! How is that possible? IPTLD works by tricking cancer cells, which have ten times the number of insulin receptors as non-cancerous cells, into opening those receptors at the same time as we administer a very low dose of chemo.

As a result, the cancer cells absorb a disproportionately high amount of the chemo and healthy cells absorb much lower levels of the drug. Generally, the patient experiences no side effects and doesn’t have to sacrifice their quality of life in the process.

Lifesaving Therapies You Need To Know About

Patients often ask how Oasis of Hope manages to score such a high success rate with only a fraction of the drugs used in standard chemo treatments. Actually, we do a great deal of work to prepare the patient for chemo, strengthening the body and building up the immune system, then follow up with additional post-treatment methods. Here’s a brief look at just a few of the pre- and post-treatment possibilities.

    Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

When patients are given drugs during chemotherapy, the drugs can’t tell the difference between malignant and healthy cells, so they attack everything, causing considerable damage in the body.

IPTLD eliminates that problem, allowing the chemo to target cancer cells exclusively. But to maximize the effectiveness of our low-dose chemo, we use a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, which makes the process easier on the patient and improves the cancer-killing ability of the chemo. We call this method Oxidative Preconditioning Therapy, and combine it with supplements targeting the individual’s specific needs.

If you’ve never tried it, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a safe method of providing cells throughout your body with more oxygen than they can get from breathing. The benefits are well documented. Spending time in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber encourages production of stem cells and growth factors, two elements that stimulate healing.

Unlike some medical treatments, a session in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber is a pleasant experience. I do it myself whenever I have time (each session lasts from 60 to 90 minutes). You simply enter the capsule – you can see outside the capsule, so it’s not claustrophobic — lie down, and relax. If you like, you can watch a “feel good” video, or you can just enjoy doing nothing.

The doctor will place a mask over your nose and mouth, and you simply breathe in and out normally. Since the hyperbaric chamber is pressurized, your lungs are able to consume as much as three times the amount of oxygen as they would with regular breathing.

At the end of the session, you may notice that you feel stronger and more energized than when you began. Many people comment that even their appearance changes for the better.

Hyperbaric oxygen isn’t just for treating cancer, though. It’s been used for infections, healing wounds and burns, stroke, chronic fatigue syndrome, and arthritis, among other things.

    Ultra Blood Irradiation Therapy

This may sound like something from a science fiction novel. But ultraviolet blood irradiation (UVB) therapy is actually an FDA-approved technique that allows us “cleanse” the blood and remove various toxins, bacteria, and viruses. In the process, we stimulate the immune system and increase the number of cells available to attack cancer cells or other unwanted organisms.

UVB therapy can be used for conditions other than cancer, including inflammation, skin disorders, detoxification, and poor circulation. Last, but far from least, it also improves a patient’s tolerance of chemotherapy or radiation.

    Genetic Testing

The IPTLD works so well in part due to another groundbreaking tool I rely on – RGCC (Research Genetic Cancer Centre) tests. Among other things, RGCC tests provide me with a profile unique to each individual, showing which cancer drugs and natural substances work best for each patient.

In conventional medicine, oncologists tend to use specific types of chemo for certain cancers. But the RGCC tests can tell me that a patient with lung cancer will actually respond best to a drug usually used for skin cancer, simply because of his or her individual differences.

Obviously, this is vitally important information. Not knowing which drugs work best for a patient is like putting a Band-Aid on an individual who’s having a heart attack – what’s the point? Using the wrong chemotherapy drug is going to destroy the patient’s quality of life while doing very little to the cancer. RGCC tests allow me to avoid that problem.

ONCOblot Test for Early Cancer Detection

Treating cancer can be a tricky business. With trillions of cells in the body, how can we keep tabs on the ones that are healthy and those that have become malignant? At Oasis of Hope, we use several different testing methods, including the ONCOblot. This test recognizes a specific type of protein, known as ENOX2, that is found only on the surface of a malignant cancer cell.

The ONCOblot Test is highly sensitive, with the ability to spot a cancer when it consists of only 2 million cells. That may seem like a lot of cancer cells, but it isn’t. For comparison, identifying cancer in a mammogram requires a tumor composed of nearly 5 trillion cells!

So clearly a tumor consisting of only 2 million cells is very tiny and would be missed by any standard tests available today. Not only can the ONCOblot identify cancer proteins, but it also tells us which organ they are located on. This is a huge improvement on standard tests that may identify a protein, leaving the doctor to track down the location.

There may come a day when cancer is a thing of the past. But for the time being, if you or a loved one is diagnosed with the disease, please don’t give up hope, because there are better options than most people realize.

Just as importantly, take time to explore the possibilities until you find one that seems right for you. In future newsletters, I’ll talk about other important developments in cancer care and prevention, so please check back often.

A man who claimed to be a Salafist-Wahhibist cleric put the word out on Twitter that women should not flip on air conditioners at home because it sends the signal they’re home and that could lead to moral depravities.
The cleric said “turning on the cooler ventilator is prohibited for women in the absence of their husbands [because] the woman’s act is very dangerous, and may bring about immorality in the society. When she turns the cooler on, someone may notice her presence home, and this might bring about immorality,” International Business Times reported.
