Bits of news…it’s all I’ve got.

So..what’s going on this morning? Any new news to report?
I heard the Jay Leno is getting primed for prime time on NBC: 10:00 nightly. I have never been a big Leno fan but I know many like him and watch his show. It was a big deal if I was up at 11:00 to watch anything (I love my sleep) but now that he may grace us with his face, (and a big face it is – do ya think people will confuse him with Olbermann? :) an hour earlier I just may have to check him out. The only time I am up after 10:00 is to watch ‘Brothers and Sisters’ on Sunday nights, otherwise it’s lights out for me. In to bed early and up early is my regular routine, sans the weekends of course.
Sleep is my big escape from reality. It always has. Not that reality isn’t okay. I just love my dream state. And I love waking up to a new day; it’s almost like being reborn. Everything looks fresher. I am rejuvenated, relaxed and regenerated; and luckily the day feels that way too. Although lately sleep has not been as pleasant as I am used to. Last night was the first good night of sleep that I got in the last few days. For three days I woke up from my sleep in the middle of the night….crying. Yep…what is that all about? Has that ever happened to you? I know it happens every so often to me but never three nights in a row. Hmm…maybe I need to cry a little more in my waking life so that my sleep can be what I love: deep and peaceful.
Anyway what else?
So I hear one of the Big 3 is backing our of Bailout help. Ford says the money is unnecessary. Cool. It seems Ford planned ahead and in 2006 they set up $23.5 billion worth of credit. So the plan is to borrow, restructure and bring in some new product plans. They feel this will get them through the recession without relying on the government. Wow, I love it…a big business that is actually relying on their own smarts and resources.
From the Huffington Post:
Ford even said the century-old company that bears his family’s name might be able to use the independence from loans to its advantage.
“I think if they see Ford as a company trying to pull itself up by its own bootstraps, and making it on its own and pulling the right levers, I think that could be a positive for us,” Ford said.
I think Ford’s got it going. I mean at least from what I know – who knows what’s going on behind the scenes. But c’mon, there are millions of Americans pulling themselves up by their own bootstraps, why not the biggies too? Hey, maybe more will follow suit and start thinking with the big head. I have to say that being able to change with the times and reaching in deep to find those resources is something that I am beginning to master. It is amazing how resourceful one can be when one has to be.
So that’s about all I was able to catch up on in the news the past few days. If someone told me that I had to give up TV a few months ago, I would’ve laughed and said, ‘No way! – Never! But today…well my peeps, I still want to say ’No way! – Never!’ but what I want and what is my reality ain’t always the same same - get my drift? :)
Hi Zen Lill: I would love to be in NY and see all of the lights and the big tree at Rockefeller. How fun that would be – throw in some power shopping and I am all yours! I am feeling the Christmas spirit all around me and some of it is seeping in. :)
Ahh..it is a beauty today. Carr are you out there shining your brilliant light? You know the sun brings out the best in me – I am so appreciative!
Enjoy where ever you are…
Gratefully your blog host,

Michelle
This is my 41st attempt to get in on your blog. I tried all through Obama’s run for President and I have been trying off and on since. As you suggested I have continued to enter my message with the hope that it would make it in. This will be my new generic opener until I make it in.
Honestly, it seems that a black man can not voice an opinion on your blog. What’s up?

Zen Sweetness
I finally got a hold of a computer with access to the web. We have been making clandestine entries into parts of Africa to practice our newly acquired skills. We have been met with fierce resistance from ignorant but well indoctrinated “warriors of god.” There seems to be an unlimited supply of these unfortunate beings who are used to further the aims of the sinister and the greedy. We have suffered some injuries, but thank somebody not fatalities.
I would like to comment on your muse about the “bailout.” If first, you will permit me to say how the thought of your “Hi Mischa, I don’t know what to think at this point about bailout’s, etc…” rolling off your lips has excited that part of me I have been keeping in check to enable me to concentrate on my mission at hand. Ahhh, what a pleasant respite. What I wouldn’t give for that dream where you summon me for a romp in your bed until you have sated your lust for me. I usually awaken thinking “damn that girl was good.”
What were we talking about? Oh yeah, the “bailouts.”
Permit me if you will to espouse another way of looking at the “big three” automakers dilemma. First I will have to fill you in on some inside information about the American auto industry.
For decades the CEOs of the auto industry have been influenced by big oil interests or others in the pocket of big oil interests to keep producing vehicles that would keep America dependent on fossil fuel. Hence, the reluctance of the American auto industry to produce a vehicle that would efficiently use anything but fossil fuel.
If the average American can pause to think for him/herself for a minute, he/she will realize that for once a government not controlled by Big Oil now has a chance to force these crooks, incompetent, greedy, etc… CEOs to produce a product that will be a greater benefit to America’s national security than all the CIA’s, NEA’s or other secret supposedly helpful organizations combined.
I know, that was a mouthful. But Let’s take it apart for examination. Those CEO’s have been producing a product that is the greatest threat to America’s national security because it causes us to send 700 plus BILLION dollars EVERY year to the islamic world that hates us.
Imagine the stupidity of being concerned about the tax payer spending ONE 700 plus billion dollars to bail out a few American companies when EVERY year, year after year the American people are sending 700 plus billion dollars to our enemies for oil to fuel those gas guzzlers produced by the big three.
The same politicians (mostly republicans) that pretend for political reasons that this is “socialism” when government asks for some say in how their investment is being spent have never thought it was “socialism” to subsidize big business with tax breaks never offered to the average citizen. Where was there “socialism” outrage when they were handing out big tax cuts to big businesses and the super rich?
Someone should point out to them that this is government by the people, for the people, taking control of businesses, previously subsidized by their crooked asses, that were solely interested in profiting at the expense of the people.
If Obama’s government will put government before business interest, the people’s interest before government and the environment’s interest before the people, the USA, and the world will be the better for it.
Bailing out the big three is one of many ways to take control of all three. The auto industry gets our money. We, like any other investor, will get to have a say in what goes on in a company that the investor invests its money in. Don’t let the crooked politician brandish words like “socialism” to make you think that it is okay to give your money to a company but somehow unamerican to demand a say in how your money is used.
For the first time in American history a President will have the balls to give the American people control of industry that has wasted it’s head start on all the other countries who now produce automobiles. It is pathetic that these men call themselves CEO’s. They are incompetent baboons fleecing the stockholders for their personal gain. Someone needs to tell them how to run an auto industry before they abscond with what’s left of the company’s money after running it into the ground.
I don’t have time for more, training calls.. Keep the fate baby, as a “great” general once said I will return.
