Monday Madness
Posted by Michelle Moquin on December 9th, 2013
Good morning!
In case you haven’t noticed, I keep posting about Obamacare, not only because it is a good thing but because the repubs keep fighting it. If we are to get some good ground here and show how important it is for million of Americans, I need to keep up with those that oppose. And they are at it everyday. When will they just give up and let it be. Obamacare is law; it is here to stay.
Another write from Think Progress:
The Fake Obamacare Site That Is Trying To Trick Californians
– IRS WILL SINGLE OUT CONSERVATIVES. “In light of the recent revelation of questionable processes at the IRS for approving the tax-exempt status of certain groups, several members of the State Legislature, led by Assemblyman Dan Logue, introduced Assembly Joint Resolution 23 to urge Congress and the President to remove any financial oversight responsibilities of the IRS with regard to the administration of the Affordable Care Act.”– YOUNG PEOPLE ARE SCREWED. “Young invincibles or healthy adults visit the doctor very seldom and are money makers for insurers and medical groups that contract to provide them services. As low-cost additions to insurance pools, young adults would help dilute the expense of covering older, sicker people. Depending on how Congress requires insurers to price their policies, this group could even wind up paying disproportionately hefty premiums — effectively subsidizing coverage for the less healthy.”– EMPLOYERS WILL STOP HIRING. “There are subsidies in the program for health insurance. However, there is an argument that the Affordable Care Act provides strong incentives for firms to avoid hiring workers from low-income households. … Many economists believe that the employer mandate contained in the federal law has resulted in many employers who currently have fewer than 50 employees from deciding not to hire new workers so that they are not subject to the new mandate or penalty provisions. News stories are beginning to confirm these concerns.”– SENIORS WILL EXPERIENCE RATIONING. “For seniors that use Medicare’s prescription drug program, the Affordable Care Act gradually closes the “donut hole” until its complete elimination in 2020. To pay for other components of the Affordable Care Act such as expanding Medicaid and creating state health exchanges, Medicare providers will see rate cuts near $200 billion over the next decade. These cuts could potentially result in the exodus of doctors from the Medicare system and force Medicare recipients to find new providers, possibly facing longer wait times for care as that pool of doctors shrinks.”

Harold: Well, I HOPE that both of you switched parties after that testimonial.
Peace out.
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

Throwing panties in the ring? Just a dalliance? Really, this is the best you’ve got?

I agree with you Zen Lill. Ladies calm down.

Michelle, that was very sweet of you to respond to my son, Harold. This is my first time here. I have just left Huff Post for good because they have introduced a policy requiring all their commenters to register through face book.
They want to know the personal info about their commenters. People like that LeTao who was causing such a commotion by tell others how Huff was manipulating their comments to define who their commenters were for their readers.
LeTao, you are a bad boy.

Thank you Michelle for thinking of me and Peter. I have been reading but I haven’t had the time to devote to continually attempting to post when your blog won’t allow me to get in.
I am still reading it every day though. I see a lot still believe that Zen Lill is someone you made up. I must confess that in discussions that we have here about the blog and some of the regulars, we have many who say until they see You and Zen Lill side by side they won’t believe that you and Zen Lill aren’t one and the Same.
I don’t. I see differences in your comments that suggest to me that you are two entirely different people. Besides I like reading Zen Lill’s take on a subject.

This site needs to be shut down. Sorry but this seems to be an attempt at fraud or at the least suborning law.

Why do Republicans feel the need to lie to Americans?
December 11th, 2013 at 7:50 am
Lois, I agree with you. The Huff is definitely upset over what Letao has done. He is being attacked subtly by Huff’s staff to make it look like his fan numbers are going down. I don’t think LeTaO is coming back under the new conditions. I was already registered un facebook so it doesn’t affect me.

Gloria, How much more evidence do people need the believe that the GOP will do or say anything to discredit every progressive idea, the President, and Democrats. They have no relationship with the truth or ethical conduct. Yet…we keep hearing from them about “morals.” About “christian values.” But…
December 11th, 2013 at 7:52 am
Why do politicians feel the need to lie to Americans?
Fixed it for you.
Answer – We accept / justify it!
December 11th, 2013 at 7:53 am
Gloria;
Because the GOP knows that many Americans are deceitful and too stupid to know any better.
December 11th, 2013 at 8:12 am
Michelle, The only thing fake is this “news” story.
December 11th, 2013 at 8:14 am
Let follow up on that Michelle.
The website is an official guide by Republican state legislators to help Californians navigate the maze of bureaucratic red tape and regulations that is Obamacare. Yes, there have been fraudulent sites attempting to steal your private information, but this is not one of them.
Yahoo did their usual amount of research and posted a story that is not only completely inaccurate, but a purposeful lie by those trying to keep the American people uninformed.
A disgusting, but all too typical, pathetic excuse for journalism at Yahoo “News”.

I’d still like to hear the Republican plan for the alternative to the Democratic plan which originally was a Republican plan.
December 11th, 2013 at 8:17 am
FYI I live in California. I recently went to state site to check my rates for premiums under Obamacare. For the bronze plan my rate would a whopping 50% cheaper and for platinum plan the rate would be 15% cheaper.
This is why Republicans are trying to steer people away from the site. When will people realize the Republicans only care about their rich buddies and consistently try to screw over the middle class with FUD and outright lies.

Many people may find plans to be higher than before, but keep in mind that they were roughly the same price 3 months ago! And besides, many people are slowly discovering that they do in fact qualify for some level of tax subsidy to make the new coverage more affordable.
Of course, for the millions who couldn’t qualify for coverage due to health issues, it’s a no-brainer and something the opposition doesn’t like to talk about.
