George Zimmerman Signs Autographs At A Florida Gun Show

Good morning!

Nice to see there was some of you here with me. Thanks for joining me in the conversation. :)

With so much going on in this world and with the internet providing us with so much information, I find choosing a topic du jour pretty challenging. Which one to highlight when so much is important to report? It’s so cool that so many of you are so with it, that you bring up lots of topics that are on my agenda too. So you too help to bring things to light. Thankfully some things never change. I am appreciative. Perhaps though with all that we do do, change will come about and there will be a day where the topic du jour will not be a topics de trop.

However, this day is not going to be one of those. This was dumped on my plate today. A write from Think Progress:

George Zimmerman Signs Autographs At A Florida Gun Show

George Zimmerman signs autographs.

George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin, was the featured guest at a central Florida gun show this weekend, where he autographed photographs for customers. Organizers of the New Orlando Gun Show almost canceled the event because of backlash, but instead agreed to relocate Zimmerman’s signing to a smaller venue.

Zimmerman wanted to return a favor to The Arms Room, an Orlando gun store that supported him after he killed Martin. “The concept of being able to pay them back for what they did for me and seeing my supporters face to face was something I just couldn’t pass up,” Zimmerman told Fox 35. On Twitter, he described the controversy as “another company bowing to threats of being labeled racist.”

The only thing Zimmerman is famous for is killing an unarmed black teenager. And he is, in many ways, the poster child for Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. “I walk around armed; I walk around with a bullet proof vest; it’s not so much for my safety as it is so much for those around me,” he said. “I can be around my family and something might happen to them. There’s children around me, etc. Those threats… I have to be able to defend myself like any American.”

Since the trial, Zimmerman has remained in the headlines for two dropped charges of domestic violence and even agreeing to a later-canceled charity celebrity boxing match — on what would have been Martin’s birthday.

*S*I*C*K*F*U*C*K*

Readers: The fact that the New Orlando Gun Show had planned to have Zimmerman be a featured guest at a gun show in the first place says it all. Not to mention that people who lined up to get his autograph. And not to mention that Zimmerman showed up, grateful to be supported. It is pretty much right in your face, “I don’t give a fuck that I killed your son,” to the family of Trayvon Martin.  Sick and insensitive. Zimmerman’s actions says that he feels no remorse what so ever. Nor do any of the people who “supported” him who feel that the murder of Martin was justified.

What’s on your mind? Blog me.

Peace out.

  1. Aldofo Says:

What does that say about a people who find value in killing an unarmed teenager.

  2. Sandra Says:

Why would you want his autograph?? Unless you were a bigot, and a sick one at that.

  3. Manny Says:

Maybe because he is a symbol of victory over the racist and biased liberal media?

  4. Tina Says:

Aldofo, fellow racist sociopaths are the only ones that would. They all wanna be John Wayne, and theyre just waiting for their chance to kill. Lord help us.

  5. Carey Says:

They are not sociopaths, they are just racists.

  6. Zachary Says:

    Manny#3:

Or maybe he represents a segment of the U.S that’s known for their bigotry and lack of intelligence…..a bunch of white trash rednecks.

  7. Lizz Says:

Carey, Why? Where is the racism? Instead of throwing that out, your comments should be directed at the reasoning of the man who hired him to be there. It’s all to promote his business and the NRA.

  8. Helen Says:

Lizz#7, The racism is what the “man” was counting on to bring out the money to pay for the autographs for a white man who got away with murdering a black boy.

Who else would even want a grown man’s autograph for killing a child.

  9. Morgan Says:

Heard about self defense you brainwashed sheep?

  10. Paul Says:

    Zachary#6:

(Note: Zimmerman isn’t white. You are still reading those initial false press reports, generated by the civil litigation team.)

  11. Tony Says:

Paul#10, he says he’s caucasain on his FL DL.

  12. Gena Says:

Morgan#9, typically, when you kill in self-defense, you feel a bit of remorse for what you did.

    He is celebrating. Try again.

  13. Kent Says:

    Morgan#9:

You just don’t get it do you? Whether it was self defense is irrelevant. There is nothing glorious or celebratory about taking a life even if that person has done you wrong. He is not a hero, he is not a celebrity. A young man is dead.

There is nothing remotely glorious about it. That is unless you are violent, racist sociopath who is just glad that another black kid is dead. Then lauding him as some kind of hero makes sense.

  14. Stark Says:

Tony#11, He says he’s Hispanic on his voter registration, which is available to the public. Let’s see your link to his drivers license since you are apparently privy to such.

  15. Abie Says:

Morgan#9, Self defense after he picked a fight with a kid? The 911 operator told him not to follow the kid, but he did it anyway so he could pick a fight.

He’s a murderer, and the jury in Florida are prejudiced morons.

  16. Tony Says:

Stark#14, Where’s your link? Yes he’s an Hispanic speaker who claims the white racial identity. http://www.tmz.com/videos/0_54h8semt/Checkout the TX traffic stop.

Notice the part where the cop says his drivier’s license says he is white. It’s on youtube, public for you and anyone else to be privy too. On his FL DL he IDs his race as WHITE.

Also notice how nice the white cop treats him and lets him go for speeding. When is the last time you remember a cop stopping you for speeding and just giving you a warning.

He didn’t check his gun permit, he just told him to close his glove compartment and slow down. Oh, the perks one gets for murdering black kids.

  17. Frank Says:

“He says he’s Hispanic on his voter registration…”

    Bwahahahahahahaha

  18. Dan Says:

Abie#15, that’s still self-defense. There was never one shred of evidence produced that contradicted a single element of his story.
If someone attacks you, even after following you, you have a basic human right to defend yourself

  19. Lilly Says:

Morgan, murdering an unarmed person is not self defense.

  20. Susan Says:

Morgan, self-defense from an unarmed teen that U stalked?

  21. Barbara Says:

Morgan#9, Sorry, but it’s not ‘self defense’ when YOU go after a child who has done nothing wrong, with your gun drawn. That’s cold blooded murder, “you brainwashed sheep.”

  22. Norman Says:

Tina#4, You forgot racist, RIGHT WING, sociopaths.

  23. Ted Says:

    He is a white hispanic.

  24. Isaiah Says:

Dan#18, You mean “even after you follow him”. Where was Travon’s right to defend himself. He was the one be followed by the stranger.

  25. King Says:

Dan, Do you think an Adult can defend themselves with a weapon against your unarmed child?

  26. Brandon Says:

Dan#18, Which “story” the murderer had many? lmao

  27. Kris Says:

Idon’t care if Zimmerman is purple with green polka dots. He should have stayed in his car. He never should have followed the kid.

    He is a murderer
who got off because his victim was an OTW.
