Vote Him Out!

Good morning!
A Dude Trying To Ban Abortions Is Asked A Question He Never Considered. It’s So Obvious It Hurts.
So, Rep. Buchy, here’s some realtalk: You don’t need to be a woman to know why women seek abortions. And even if you did, maybe you shouldn’t use the power of public office to legislate against things you admit you don’t understand.
*V*O*T*E*H*I*M*O*U*T*!*
Readers: Sickening and infuriating. How could you never ponder a question like this, yet feel so comfortable in taking away a woman’s right to make choices over her own body. Who…Who…are these stupid women who vote these kind of men into office? Wait…in case you can’t hear the tone in my voice, that is a rhetorical question. Because no doubt, all of you know the kind of women who do vote into office these kind of men…because they are lockstep beside them, too stupid to think for themselves.
If I was the interviewer, I may have slapped this man for butting into my life, trying to prevent me from making choices that affect my body…without even considering why I would want to make that choice…without ever having thought about it from a woman’s point of view. How dare he try and decide for me, when he cares little about women to even contemplate why a woman would want this for herself. That just goes to show you, this man and men like him have no concern for the needs and health of women, and only want to be in control of them.
Evidently Rep. Buchy, does need to be a woman to understand why women seek abortions, because he certainly doesn’t know how to step into womens’ shoes and understand our point of view and needs. Get into the real world dude…or stop legislating against things that you know nothing about that affect real women in the real world.
I’ve got an idea…How about I talk the same same talk: I think we should just ban Viagra. I just don’t think that men should be allowed to take it. I mean, really, why do men want to take it? It’s a question I’ve never even thought about. I don’t know; I’m not a man. (Tee hee.)
Vote him out.
Blog me.
Peace out.
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

Aliens: please come round up all the men. They don’t deserve to breathe our air. They have no concern for life on earth. I for one am sick of it! My sisters and me are ready for some alien dick.

I’ve.Never.Thought.About.It.
This is the best we can do for candidates of any kind, he’s beyond stupid, so stupid that he opens his mouth and speaks out loud?!
(And men tells jokes they think are somewhat true about blondes? Please…this, if it wasn’t such a serious subject and so important for women, would blow away all punchline answers to blonde jokes, hands down)
Ugh…and btw, any man in his right mind would questions this mans talents to run anything also, just sayin’

Venus, I laughed and then sighed with understanding after reading your post…ZL

Michelle, I’m trying to think of a good response to this, but failing. It’s an example of someone who has an ideology that they’re going to adhere to without any consideration whatsoever.

Zen Lill#1, I couldn’t get in yesterday to reply to your suggestion. My 5th try.
I agree with you 100%. Imagine this coward claiming to be so big and bad that he takes up arms against the government, but he is going to put his female relatives in front of him as a bullet shield.
sick bastards

As an Ohioan and a male, all I can say is WTF and sorry such bozos exist. I have a feeling though, the good women of this state will be working along with others to clean some of these guys out. Thank the atmosphere John Kasich helped create as governor for some of this crap.

The fact that he had to flounder around like a fish out of water for an answer should tell him it’s none of his business why a woman might want to have an abortion, but it won’t. He’ll let nothing stand in the way of his crusade.
He’s not a woman, but he won’t let that stop him from getting his law passed. This reminds me of the state republican legislator and doctor who said that his colleagues have no problem passing these laws, but they have an entirely different perspective on abortion when they show up in his office with their pregnant teenage daughters.
They have no problem then answering the question of why a woman might want to have an abortion.

Zen Lill#1, I want to know who are the women who would allow those cowards to put them and their children in front of these cowards.
April 16th, 2014 at 7:57 am
Is it just me or did Venus#1 post that link?
Venus#1, this is not unlike the cowardly muslim men that force their women to wear suicide bombs. Male cowards come in all colors, it seems the one thing they have in common is their “strong” religious beliefs.
Hypocritical bastards one and all.

Zen Lill #2, I doubt that “any man in his right mind would questions this mans talents to run anything ” because men in general feel they have the right to tell a woman what she can and can’t do with her body.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:10 am
Venus#1, you have noticed that not many white males see anything wrong with this.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:13 am
Yes, wow.
I would hope that man would have walked right out of that interview after answering that question to undo any work he had done towards banning abortion.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:13 am
Good freaking grief. Scary.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:14 am
Pathetic
April 16th, 2014 at 10:15 am
That is a ridiculous response. I don’t have to be gay to understand why they want the right to marry. How can people so narrow minded get into positions of power. He totally lacks the ability to empathize yet he wants to change laws that control women’s rights.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:17 am
If you believe that a fetus is a distinct human being with rights, then what motivates its mother to want to abort it is not relevant to the morality of that act.
If someone wishes to help a woman who is facing an unwanted pregnancy, or to reduce the number of abortions then, yes. it is imperative to understand the factors that lead to a woman making such a choice.
But, let’s take abortion out of the equation, and let’s just talk about the ending of a life. If you believe on principle that life is sacred and should be preserved, would your view of the value of that life and its deserving protection be impacted by the motive of the one wishing to take it? Those who are pro life, oppose the procedure because they see it as taking an innocent life. Period.
It may not be a popular position, but it is a consistent one.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:21 am
I don’t believe an unborn fetus’ rights are more important than the rights of the woman carrying it, ever.
I’ll always be pro choice, and fight against those who try and legislate what rights women have over their own bodies, particularly when that legislation is based on the legislator’s personal beliefs, not considering the situation of the mother or the welfare and quality of life the baby may have when it is born. Obviously this man is one of those.
I can’t believe these rights are still still something women have to fight for to keep from losing them again, or lose safe access to them.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:22 am
You know what reduces abortions?
Free and easy access to birth control.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:23 am
Those who are pro life, oppose the procedure because they see it as taking an innocent life. Period.
exactly, and it is that sort of absolutist stance and lack of moral relativism that make extremist muslims and christians indistinguishable. bravo sir, you are a nut job.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:24 am
Greg#17, Ok, that’s all well and good, but if you are a legislator, you can’t make laws in a vacuum.
His end goal is to reduce/eliminate abortions because he believes they are taking innocent lives. OK, fine. But if he thinks that women who choose abortion now will stop choosing abortion just because the law changes, he is completely short sighted. They may go to a different state. They may try to induce abortion themselves. They may go to illegal providers. Actual incidence of abortion would not dramatically drop if the ONLY change that was made was a legislative change.
So, to me, it follows that if he is really invested in protecting what he views as innocent lives, he’s going to consider and advocate a multi-pronged approach. Look at the reasons why women choose abortion to begin with and work on solving those in tandem with changing laws. THAT might actually reduce incidence of abortion and protect what he veiws as innocent lives, instead of just shifting how/where abortions happen.
Never having considered the bigger picture shows he lacks intellectual rigor and problem solving ability. He only sees one solution to a problem that has many disparate causes. He’s foolish.
April 16th, 2014 at 10:26 am
Yes, exactly, Greg#17. When it comes to deliberately killing a foetus, the reason why the woman wants to do it is pretty much irrelevant. There are a very limited number of exceptions, I believe, but in most cases the ‘wishes’ of the mother are not any reason to take a life.
***ETA*** just read your post BusyPea, it was posted while I was writing mine. And you are absolutely correct. I was going to delete mine, but deleting posts is pretty cowardly, so I won’t.
I didn’t think my response through enough, and stopped the thought process to soon, as did the guy in the video. The wishes of the woman certainly do need to be taken into account when drafting the law.

Greg#17: “Those who are pro life, oppose the procedure because they see it as taking an innocent life. Period. It may not be a popular position, but it is a consistent one.
“Except to save a woman’s life”.
So the position is not really consistent because, in that narrow exception that he makes, motivation is important.
And, if you are equating a fetus with a baby, whether the mother’s life is in danger or not, would be moot.
Would he find it acceptable to sacrifice a newborn for it’s mother? I don’t think so. Again, not consistent.
