Good morning!

I HOPE I didn’t go too crazy on ya’ll with yesterday’s post. I felt like I was getting lazy with “Just noticing” on Sundays, because everyday seems to be a “Just noticing.” I use to post a few topics under this heading, not long ones as I did yesterday, so some of you might think the read was a bit busy or overwhelming. Perhaps some of what I posted was ignored. Yeah, well no surprise there. Unfortunately, many topics that have to do with women’s challenges are ignored by many and not just in the blogosphere.

On the same vein, I heard from a trusted source that my “ego” got to me, and that perhaps some of you may think that as well. Huh. Well, I posted the blog the evening before it was to go live, and there were no comments other than ZL. But I’ll take the hit from him.

So, if you’re reading, and I know you are, if it looks as though my “ego” got to me, so be it. In my opinion, one can never have enough “ego” when it is in support of illuminating, and working on putting an end to the horrific blatant in-your-face and the subtle slippery nuances, that women have to endure everyday, all over this planet.

And if you felt overwhelmed or confused, or couldn’t choose which write to focus on, know that is nothing compared to what us women feel, which is a helluva lot more. Just when we think we’ve got something handled and in the bag, another issue arises (and another, and another...) that we have to address and deal with. And we do deal with it. So, if you had a difficult time with the write yesterday, all I can say is, “I tried something new, perhaps it was too much. Deal with it.”

Thomas: It figures a man would say this. But I’ll be easy and just say, “I know how you feel.” Commenting is no sweat when there is only one topic. It is similar to how I feel when choosing which important topic to post when there are so many that need to be highlighted. It ain’t easy. Please see the rest of my comments above if you haven’t read them already. I noticed you haven’t come back to comment yet.

PS: As of almost 11:00 PM last night, I “just noticed” that it was only men (Hello Raymond) who seemed to comment about the content of yesterday’s blog post. Interesting eh?

Now…onto today’s write. This one is short and sweet….well, maybe short, not so sweet, but definitely “funny.”

Here’s a video of one of my favorite men on the planet…our president Obama, from the recent White House Correspondents’ dinner.

*G*o*O*b*a*m*a*!*

Blog me.

Irene, et al: Thank you for all the kind words and kudos.

Shannon: Sweet. I love sisterly support between siblings. I don’t have one but I feel blessed by all of the awesome, around-the-world sisters here.

Anna Of Guam: You say when sister and it is done.

Amanda: I think Alycedale is a wonderful choice. I miss her presence here too. Maybe she is reading and will come back and grace us with her unique speak.

Ruth, SM: Thank you. Missing you too sister. HOPEfully again very soon.

Howie: I just wanted to acknowledge your post and the Holocaust Remembrance Week. The Holocaust was horrific. Just like slavery, I have no doubt that many feel if they could repeat the holocaust again, they would. I pray that never happens. The only way to ensure that it doesn’t is if the OTWs stick together and grow outnumbering the racists who dream of the “good ‘ol days.”

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Peace & Love…

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

Gratefully your blog host,

Happy Cinco de Mayo! to everyone.

Enjoy this special day for Hispanic folks.

  3. HOWIE Says:

    On a serious note:

For the first time ever, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the spread of polio — an international public health emergency that could grow in the next few months and unravel the nearly three-decade effort to eradicate the crippling disease.

The agency described current polio outbreaks across at least 10 countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East as an “extraordinary event” that required a coordinated international response. It identified Pakistan, Syria and Cameroon as having allowed the virus to spread beyond their borders, and recommended that those three governments require citizens to obtain a certificate proving they have been vaccinated for Polio before traveling abroad.

Until it is eradicated, Polio will continue to spread internationally, find and paralyze susceptible kids,”

Critics, however, questioned whether Monday’s announcement would make much of a difference, given the limits faced by governments confronting not only polio but armed insurrection and widespread poverty.

“What happens when you continue whipping a horse to go ever faster, no matter how rapidly he is already running?” said Dr. Donald A. Henderson, who led the WHO’s initiative to get rid of smallpox — the only human disease ever to have been eradicated.

The WHO has never before issued an international alert on Polio, a disease that usually strikes children under 5 and is most often spread through infected water. There is no specific cure, but several vaccines exist.

We are going backward instead of forward with eradication of serious diseases worldwide because many were successfully eradicated temporarily and people worldwide have forgotten about how debilitating Polio and other diseases such as Smallpox can be.

Keep yourself and your loved ones vaccinated for the big, bad diseases. They are just waiting to pounce on our civilization once again and wreak havoc.

  4. Carie Says:

Zen Lill you always get the kudos. Let the rest of us enjoy a bit. I like reading your posts because you let it all out.

  5. Irene Says:

You and me both girl love us some Obama.

  6. Yolanda Says:

One has to admit that Obama has his enemies but he is not fazed.

  7. Yanci Says:

I love OUR President, and I love to read the ignorant comments of the haters who are so FRUSTRATED they can do nada, zilch, nothing about him. Their heads are exploding, and their blood pressure rising! Hahaha!

President Barack Obama is an historical figure who will be remembered, discussed, admired by millions of people for the next several centuries, while these silly, hateful trolls will continue to “live” their sad, anonymous little lives, and continue to stalk the internet complaining and insulting the NEXT POTUS.

  8. Jerry Says:

I agree with you Yanci, I strongly suggest the republicans GET A LIFE!

  9. Louise Says:

    While Rome burns Nero jokes…

  10. Truit Says:

I love watching all the haters come out when the pres is having a good time. They find so much joy in their hatred. The best part is all they have are empty words because until 2016, Obama has the last laugh.

  11. Vicki Says:

Louise#9, If this is “burning” I say turn up the heat!!!!

  12. Albert Says:

Obama is pretty laughable! I would laugh too.

  13. Max Says:

Ha Ha. Obama is a real wit. Well, I’m half right anyway.

  14. Marry Says:

Pulse for McConnell, orange is the new black, that is funny!

  15. Max Says:

How dare the President be funny. With the economy tanking and the US losing jobs left and…..oh wait. The hemorrhaging from the previous admin has been stopped, for now, wait until the midterms, more than likely the right wing fringe will gain control of congress, and the wounds will be reopened.

  16. Tom Says:

Ohbummer hates the US as it is that is why he is tearing it down like a good Marxist Muslim should.

CBS President’s brother works for OBummer in the NSC ! He covered up Benghazi terror attack before the election.

He fired Sharyl Atkinson, (the ONLY good reporter at CBS) because she tried to find the truth.

  17. Alex Says:

To be fair, we must give our president credits for trying to be humorous although it didn’t turn out too funny…

  18. Irene Says:

Zen Lill, don’t take it so seriously, at least she didn’t throw you under the bus.

  19. Truit Says:

Tom#16, Oh my that just stings SO bad———-you calling our President a Marxist Muslim! LOL. Too bad there’s not a snowball’s chance you know that it is precisely the dumbing down of the far crazed right wing (as well-evidenced here by your post) that means the GOP has essentially zero chance of winning a national election for some time to come.

  20. Merlin Says:

TOMMY ahh, good little tripe monger. You an RNC employee or something?

    Try writing a new script.

  21. Ellen Says:

Tom, what have I told you about not taking your medication! You know how things go haywire when that happens. Just last week you were calling your neighbor a Marxist Muslim, and he’s a practicing Catholic!

What more proof do you need that you need to take that medication regularly, not just when the mood strikes you.

  22. Glendale Says:

Tom, Bobby Jindal was right; the GOP is becoming the stupid party. Obama is a marxist Muslim, the earth is 5000 years old, Fox news tells the truth, the Bible is literal truth, the list goes on and on……………..and the only thing they offer is insults and obstruction.

  23. Jack Says:

Alex#17, Why did all the smart people think it was hilarious??

  24. Mary Says:

Alex#17, Focks Noose hasn’t told its viewers it was funny yet. Probably won’t either.

  25. Moore Says:

The correspondence dinner is a chance for President Obama to make some jabs back at the press and republicans. It was a good night with lots of jokes and a lot of fun. I enjoyed everything and it was great to see President Obama having a good time. We will never all be reverent while we have people fighting still in Afghanistan. That is just not going to happen.

We do not have the draft and although my husband was in Iraq because Bush went all out for the Iraq War. Most people are not the whole public caring about the war any longer. Republicans are shoving the common man and doing it while you republicans say give it to me, cut more and more.

Let Paul Ryan hurt the country with his hateful budget that hurts more people, but it still has tax cuts for the wealthy. That should tell everyone that it is the wealthy that the GOP will always give and give and give. They will cut food stamps and cut funds to organizations that help poor people.

  26. Orel Says:

Yes the website had issues, but they were corrected. People all over the country have signed up for the Affordable Care Act. That means that over eight million people have signed up. Many more have been able to be covered by Medicare in the states that allowed it.

So now we see that the country did desperately need this health care. I am very happy for all the people who now have health insurance and the great benefits that come with it.

  27. BC Says:

How do you get a right winger to dirty his hands? Toss him a scoop of poop and he’ll try to read it.

  28. Johnny Says:

Yeah, the President is “to blame” for being part of overseeing a steady slow recovery from the worst recession since the Great Depression, when his opposition has fought jobs bills left and right at every occasion, and instead is more interested in attacking civil rights for gay people and limiting voting hours and attacking abortion rights.

Seriously that’s all the GOP has been focused on. Well that and their pesky gun fetish thing. But talk about a jobs bill? Oh no, can’t do that.

  29. Larry Says:

Zen Lill I read Michelle’s post about you over and over and I couldn’t find a slight. Please list the one you found by paragraph and line.

You are still my favorite but it wouldn’t hurt if you dropped the Michelle’s dissing me line.

  30. Zen Lill Says:

Larry & Cary, it was a joke, I was mentioned…it’s was a little blues bros humor, never mind…I have to remember to not make vague references…sorry…they’re hard to catch via writing here so no I wasn’t going ‘anywhere’ with it!
Irene, thanks fr the tire mark, I see you can break it out just as easy as I can 😁
    Yancy, I’m with you!
    Luv, Zen Lill
PS at least Obama whether you like him or not has an intelligent and sophisticated wit unlike that nutjob prior to his presidency.

  31. Zen Lill Says:

Forgot to say Howie that’s terrible news hope they can contain it.

And happy Cinco de Mayo don’t let the Pendejos get you down!

  32. Debbie Says:

Zen Lill I got it. Some people just can’t reach your level of communication.

  33. Zen Lill Says:

Thank you, Debbie, I appreciate that, perhaps I should throw in some parenthesis to let everyone know when I’m going to take an esoteric and tongue in cheek dry comedic moment, that’s not a knock to anyone’s uptake bc I know sometimes I take a light touch after my own intensity (which we all know can be pretty intense, even to me occasionally – though I’m down with my intensity by now : )
    ✌️ ZL

  34. HOWIE Says:

    Vicki #11 Today:

Your comment today “If this is “burning” I say turn up the heat!!!!” shows everyone with a brain that you are foolish.

This once-proud Superpower is deteriorating very fast, yet you say to turn up the heat?

You are either uninformed or just in denial. Too bad. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

    HOWIE
