Happy Father’s Day!
Posted by Michelle Moquin on June 15th, 2014
Good morning!
These cartoon from The New Yorker made me chuckle. I didn’t post all of them, but picked out a few to post here for your enjoyment. If you want to see the rest click on the title. Enjoy!
Father’s Day Cartoons
The fathers conjured up in these cartoons are a disconcertingly competitive and pragmatic bunch. But don’t worry, dads, you’re much more lovable in real life—that’s why we’ve spent this whole weekend stressing about what color tie to buy you. Happy Father’s Day!
Readers: Do any of these remind you of your father? :) I HOPE everyone has a wonderful day with their fathers. I intend to with mine. Happy Father’s Day, guys!
Jeffrey: Got it. Thanks for continuing the conversation. Yes, your good friend Gail is obviously correct – the blog does have a lot of racism and profanity (and a lot more than that), but so does life. The blog is but a slice of what is really happening. Perhaps it is just too real.
It’s rare that I meet anyone, friend or acquaintance, in the real world who wants to admit that this is what is happening, nor do they want to discus it. I can’t tell you how many of my friends just don’t want to get into a political, feminist, or racist conversation – it’s just too uncomfortable. (The hot topics seem to be the latest shows on HBO)
Yeah well…one can only imagine what it’s like for women who don’t have rights, who have to endure rape and abuse, and the OTWs who deal with racism on a daily basis feel like. They have to live with the uncomfortable feeling of enduring it and people avoiding the elephant in many rooms.
Although I have to admit, I would rather they say nothing and do something…but I don’t see a lot of that happening either. It is more like, let’s just go into denial that this is even happening or…that it’s that bad…or I’m too busy with my life. We’re all busy, it’s happening and it is that bad.
It’s really quite simple for women. Just support your sisters in any way you can, and make it a daily habit. I too could do more. We all could do more.
Hmm…I didn’t think I had that much to say to you but I guess I did.
Interesting note about Howie. I’m sure he’ll get a kick out of that one.
Peace Out.
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle

Michelle, I know this “Andrei”(not his real name). He is a billionaire venture-capitalist who hunts with Putin. Putin being a short man and vain doesn’t take pictures along side Andrei because he is 6’6″ and about 240 pounds of solid muscle.
Like Putin he is in love with his body and seeks women who have great ones. He sports a Patek Phillipe with that picture of you on the inside of its flip-open back. He often shows it off with the brag that he will one day marry you.
He once threatened to have Doug kidnapped and removed from your life to set you free. But now that you are divorced his only worry is that you will discover another love before he can win your affections.
If he takes you to Russia, you will be a prisoner. He is an international playboy in a special class because he has money and immense political connections. His father was in the KGB with Putin and he and Putin are very close.
