The Sly FOX is at it again: The smear tactics continue

Posted by michellemoquin on July 16th, 2008

Fox is up to their devious dirty deeds again.  And this time they’re going after Obama through the side door, by attacking the one by his side: Michelle Obama.  When I first heard the name calling, a few weeks ago, “Obama’s baby mama”, I couldn’t believe it.  And then I heard FOX ‘confusing’ Obama’s name with Osama’s – yeah right – Let get voters subliminally ’cause we don’t have the confidence to get them fairly.  And then the latest calling Barack and Michelle’s supportive fist bump a “terrorist fist jab.”  How transparent can one be? They certainly aren’t being mediagenic when it comes to Obama. Oh…but why am I so surprised…This is just the norm for FOX News.  Really what type of people are these mediots and how do they sleep at night?

Want to do something about it? I did.  I signed the petition that was sent to me by MoveOn.org, and so have 428,000 others in an effort to tell FOX to stop their racist smears against Barack Obama. The plan is to reach 500,000 sigs, which will draw the attention that they/we need in the media to put pressure on those that advertise with FOX. So are you in?

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAQ6StPVgJc&hl=en&fs=1]

If so, I’ve posted Robert Greenwald’s Brave New Films just released video, documenting FOX’s ongoing smears against Michelle Obama.  Watch it; it is pretty brazen..however love the ending. And when you’re done make sure you jump on over to  MoveOn.org,  and add your signature. Simple and easy. Thank you.

ZL: I love that quote! It reminds me of my favorite visualization. I am standing on a hill top and it feels like I’m on another planet; there are two suns laying low in the sky. My arms are open wide and high above my head. I have a huge smile on my face that turns into laughter as I spin around feeling such joy while the warmth of the suns shines on me.  Just writing it here makes me feel so good. I am not sure where this vision came from but I cherish it and see it often.

Hi Doug:  I know your net worth is growing in leaps and bounds; It has been challenging and you are succeeding.

Hi Maddie:  How are you? I know how busy you are but I wanted to say how appreciative I am of your research. Thank you for taking the time to get back to me. It seems that greed and corruption are at it again. The plots are always the same formula: Greed shows face, information is sold or traded to those who later on come back and bite us in the ass by using their gains against us…all in the name of ‘money now’.  I am tiring of the same same old story.

How are the rest of you girls…Sheikh? Nadia? Liang?  What’s going on with your blogs? Come say hello. Any news from Lydia

Hafa adai Lisa: Welcome. So you want to be a girl too – how wonderful. I am sure Tal is getting a kick out of the Mr. Spock thing. Tal: Do you know who Spock is? Not sure your simulator would have that info.

Anyway…back to you Lisa…I have yet to go to Guam…almost made it there a few years back – My kind of weather!  I have a friend that lives there and although we don’t talk that much we try to see each other when she visits.  I would love to go there someday soon. So you often see space ships? You say that so casually; I believe it must be a common occurrence, no?

Well, I wish you luck and thank you for being a part of this ‘place that brings us together.’ :)

Hi Anonz: I see you are commenting under an alias. Hmm…Coincidental that you used the same name and it posted minutes after Lisa’s comment? Things must be getting bad.  I hope that for your own safety you will heed Maddie’s advice.

I’m done for the day. As always everyone enjoy the read and I look forward to returning later on to catch up on the chat.  Have a good one. Ciao, ciao.

Gratefully your blog host,

michelle  ?

Hi Mischa, now I remember you stating that visual in a blog entry a while back. The friend that sent it to me said, if I didn’t know you so long I’d think you display false bravado under presh but after reading the quote I rethought the whole thing…I think there’s a compliment in there somewhere, hahaha…

Anonz, I thought for a moment Lisa fr Guam was into me : ) but it was you. Listen, please heed Madaline’s advice, would like you to live another day/many more, so if you have to just leave innocous and/or just flirty to Zen Lilli comments, please do so…

and Madaline, I know that me being a girlz holds some kind of weight with you, so I’m asking your beautiful naked ass-kicking self to watch his back, whenever he needs you to, and I ain’t too proud to beg.

Between my own thoughts, (blogging about ‘China and US in bed’ has been a brewin’ on this bloggers mind for weeks, the more I research the worst it is, not even sure what part I want to tell yet) and anonz’s whistle blowing and very good q (who are our children’s heroes? I know I’m my kids’ heroine at the moment but am thinking about that q a lot) and Maddie (all the investigative reporting you’ve done is inspirational to me, thanks) I’ve got plenty of blog fodder for a while and I don’t want anyone getting hurt, yes, that’s you, babe.

sweet pea, the reason my friend won’t comment is bc while she loves the political banter, she does not feel well read/informed and/or articulate enough to throw in her two with you or me right now. She loved my three sentence come back to BC and your narrative is going over well Im sure. I told her it might be a mistake to just believe anyone else’s words without researching a bit on her own. That and sigh, much as I love her very dearly, she’s quirky. I like quirky though, she thinks of things I never would, uh like my safety/stalkers, hahaha…

If I saw your face and for a sec I did flinch it’d only be bc I’d remember when I was busy reading here about you being laid up in a hospital alone but finally safe, after our certain naked someone’s swooped in and saved your ass from numerous injuries that would have killed you. The visual turns the stomach of moi. That being said, if the scars are only mendable for a time, what are you waiting for? You want me to come and take you to the hospital? I’d hold your hand, old soldier : ) are you scared? or is it something else? Do tell. I may be in the bay area soon visiting my favorite couple – so you know, tell me your story.

I wish I could send you a copy of ‘A New Earth’ you might find it helpful (or not), depends on where your egos at (seems in a good place right now), anyway…since I cannot will you go get it yourself, please?

Today is day III of ‘Politics and telling it like it is’ http://edgy1.wordpress.com/
I threw in my comments, no calling out manuevers today, but yes, anonz, you’d still be my sweet pea, just bc I don’t agree/need clarification doesn’t mean a thing, as long as I feel heard and acknowledged in my q’s/statements you will remain ‘sweet pea’ ‘babe’ and/or whatever new pet name comes to mind : )

Ok, I’m late for a meeting, ciao, Zen

  2. Zen Lill Says:

Video won’t work, will check youtube later…thanks, I hate how blatantly racist they’re playing her, did you see the New Yorker cover?? Check it out…ZL

  3. Doug Says:

I don’t know why I feel so aghast at this video, as I REFUSE to watch FOX NEWS for this very reason, and I used to edit television clips, but when clips are cut tight like this that have more to do to our society’s subconscious than to simply sell us toilet paper I get a bit nervous. I am amazed that those people could sleep at night, but as Anonz has explained and shown us, it is difficult to get it out of one’s system when racism, sexism, classism, and other isms are so deeply entrenched within one’s psyche.

  4. Zen Lill Says:

    It finally worked.
wow, just when I was getting tweaked, Jon Stewart redeemed the ending. I remember laughing pretty hard about the fist tap when I heard it on the news. I just noticed a few days before that several people at my gym greet each other that way, hmmm, they must be terrorists, too…aaaahhhhh…oh no.
Obama’s baby mama? …someone sure thinks they’re slick with the word play. That’s pretty pathetic, on the other hand even though he’s not getting my vote they should stop calling the other candidate ‘grandpa’ McCain, I did it for a minute, too, but it’s just another ism and that’s not cool.

  5. Doug Says:

    How about calling him McCant…

  6. Zen Lill Says:

…and we better pray he McWon’t.
Doug, yes, next time I see you I want you to show me how to find people, just the process, not anyone in particular. How is it anonz’s evil friends haven’t found him out yet if it’s so easy, by him switching computers? I don’t worry about me, who’d want to hurt me, I’m just a blogger woman : )
It sounds naive but no I did not know you could do that.

  7. Health Info Says:

    POLLUTION AND YOUR HEART

We’ve long been aware that fine particles in air pollution are destructive to respiratory health. These microscopic bits, composed of dust, soot and a poisonous potpourri of chemicals come from burning fuel in cars, trucks, power plants and factories. They get lodged deep in the lungs, promoting inflammation and raising the risk of all sorts of respiratory ailments.
Now a new study conducted in part by the University of Washington suggests that “fine particulate matter pollution” also dramatically elevates the risk of heart disease. The worse the pollution is and the longer your exposure to it, the greater the risk, says lead researcher Joel Kaufman, MD, MPH, professor of environmental and occupational health sciences at the University of Washington.
BAD AIR IS BAD FOR THE HEART
To examine the connection between air pollution and heart disease, Dr. Kaufman and his colleagues analyzed data from the long-term Women’s Health Initiative (WHI). Participants included more than 65,000 postmenopausal women with no prior history of cardiovascular disease in 36 cities across the US. Researchers compared the women’s health against the air quality in their communities. They found that women living in metropolitan areas highly polluted with fine particulate matter had a 76% higher risk of dying from cardiovascular disease than women in areas with cleaner air, after taking into account known risk factors such as blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and smoking.
Although this study analyzed data only from women, there is no reason to think things are different for men, says Dr. Kaufman. Pollution is clearly a negative for everyone’s health.
    WHAT YOU CAN DO
Short of staying indoors with windows and doors closed or moving to a less polluted area, there’s little you can do to control your exposure to outdoor air pollution. Currently, some state and local air pollution agencies provide information on small particle levels by the hour at airnow.gov.
We can only hope that these new research results will spur stricter government control of pollutants, as recommended in an editorial accompanying the study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine. In the meantime, Dr. Kaufman suggests trying to stay as healthy as you can by focusing on factors within your control — eat sensibly, stay active, maintain an optimal weight and don’t smoke. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure or elevated cholesterol, see your doctor to make sure you are managing these conditions well. Daily Health News contributing editor Andrew L. Rubman, ND, also suggests purchasing a HEPA filter or other air purifier for use in the home to minimize risk. These health-promoting measures keep your body fit and battle-ready for its fight against environmental assaults.
Note: To determine the annual concentration of fine particulate matter where you live, visit the EPA’s Air Trends Web site at http://www.epa.gov/airtrends/factbook.html.
