Good morning!

This girl always wanted to be a fighter pilot – she was destined to do what she is doing…which is kicking some ISIS butt. Watch out misogynists – a girlz is on your ass! Congrats to Maj. Mariam Al Mansouri!

The write from CNN.

UAE’s first female fighter pilot led airstrike against ISIS

(CNN) – Maj. Mariam Al Mansouri may be ISIS’ worst nightmare.

The first female fighter pilot in the United Arab Emirates, she led a strike mission this week against the terror group, that country’s ambassador to the United States said Thursday.

“She is (a) fully qualified, highly trained, combat ready pilot, and she led the mission,” Yousef Al Otaiba told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

The UAE has joined the United States and a handful of other Arab nations in conducting airstrikes against ISIS in Syria.

This summer, the group declared the establishment of a “caliphate,” an Islamic state stretching across the territory it has conquered. It maintains strict rules for women, who are lashed for infractions such as not being fully covered.

Al Otaiba said the campaign against ISIS basically boils down to the question of what type of society one wants.

“It’s important for us — moderate Arabs, moderate Muslims — to step up and say this is a threat against us. This is more of a threat against us than it is against you. This is not just a threat to our countries. This is a threat to our way of life,” the ambassador told MSNBC.

CNN spoke to Al Mansouri earlier this year about her work. She had wanted to be a fighter pilot since she finished high school, but had to wait until women were allowed.

“At that time, the doors were not open for females to be pilots. So I had to wait almost 10 years for the decision to be taken,” Al Mansouri said.

She stressed there’s no difference between men and women when it comes to defending their country.

“We are in a hot area so that we have to prepare every citizen,” Al Mansouri said. “Of course, everybody is responsible of defending their country — male or female. When the time will come, everybody will jump in.”

  1. Health Info Says:

The other day, I told you about a new study showing that people who make the most money get the most sleep.

Well, what I forgot to mention is that sleep isn’t just good for your pocketbook – it’s actually one of the most important things you can do for your health:

More sleep means less weight. Researchers gathered more than 68,000 middle-aged women to study the link between sleep & weight. They found that women who slept 5 hours or less were 15% more likely to be obese and weighed roughly 5.4lbs more than those who slept 7+ every night.
Sleeping is better than a diet.

A University of Chicago study found that people who slept less than 6 hours ate roughly 221 more calories throughout the day…with most of those calories coming from high-carb snack foods.
Sleeping decreases your risk of diabetes. A different study conducted at the University of Chicago found that people who sleep more than 7 hours a night have a much lower risk of diabetes.

That’s why right now, I’m offering Herbal Sleep at 50% off any quantity, plus free shipping on orders of 3 or more.

Whole Body’s Herbal Sleep is a premier blend of Valerian Root Extract, Hops, Skullcap, Passionflower, Melatonin, and Chamomile. It also includes 50mg of Magnesium, which actually sends the chemical “signal” to your brain telling it to relax and start shutting-down for sleep.

I have no doubts that Herbal Sleep is going to make a huge difference in your life. How do I know that? Because every day, I get emails that show just how great this product really is:

“I’ve always been scared about getting hooked on sleep pills so I never tried them until a friend of mine told about Herbal Sleep she said its non habit forming and I thought it deserved a try…The first night i tried it I SLEPT LIKE A ROCK!! I woke up the next morning feeling so refreshed. I would definitely recommend it to someone else”

How do you use Herbal Sleep?
Take 1 – 2 capsules before you’re ready to go to bed. To reset your sleeping patterns, make sure you take it at the same time every night.

    Are there any side effects?
Herbal Sleep is made from 100% all-natural ingredients. The herbs and roots in this formula have been used safely by traditional cultures to improve quality of sleep for centuries.

As of right now, there are no known negativeside effects to this formula…but consult your physician if you have additional concerns.

Will it make me feel groggy in the morning?
Absolutely not. This is actually the best part about the formula. Because it’s all-natural, you won’t feel “cloudy” after using it. In fact, many users report feeling more alert, having an easier time concentrating, and having fewer mood swings after using Herbal Sleep to get a good night’s rest.

  2. Badra Says:

Thank you Michelle for highlighting an arab woman showing she can compete with men too if given a chance. She is like you one of my role models.

  3. Linda Says:

Michelle, this is a great way to highlight the accomplishments of women. However the fox network is still disparaging women. One of their “The Five” show, Eric Bolling said of the UAE female pilot. “Would that be considered boobs on the ground or no?” http://rt.com/usa/191052-fox-news-joke-boobs/

  4. Mani Says:

Maj. Mariam Al Mansouri graduated flight school in 2007 and was one of the first three to join the Emirati air force when it admitted women. She flew an F-16 Desert Falcon on Monday night.

We have been in her fan club for over a decade. She is awesome. You don’t know of her other work to help women.

  5. Kelly Says:

This may be off topic but have you noticed the continual slide of Obama’s rating when it comes to how the country feels he is protecting America?

To me it shows that most of white America was just waiting for an opportunity to say the black guy is looking out for their interest. I say that because Obama is the only POTUS in the last 4 decades to successfully go after terrorist heads that have led organizations which have targeted or killed americans.

Today the world has acknowledged that he killed the head of Khorosan. Yet, most whites are quick to accept accusations that the black guy isn’t looking after their interests.

Most of my family feels likewise. When I ask them why they are so willing to accept that assertion they say he’s black, he’s looking after his own people. To me that implies they think that white representatives who are supposed to look out for all of America only do it with us in mind.

  6. Dalal Says:

I see this is not a very exciting topic for your audience Michelle. Perhaps it is because not much is known about Maj. Mariam Al Mansouri.

Mansouri, 35, was born in Abu Dhabi and graduated college with a degree in English literature. She never focused on competing with male pilots. She believes that competing with oneself is conducive to continued learning.

Sserved in the Army before enrolling in flight training. She believes “A woman’s passion about something will lead her to achieving what she aspires, and that’s why she should pursue her interests.”

She deserves the attention you have given her Michelle. Thanks for all you do.

  7. Fahima Says:

This is a true story, the U.S. tanker pilots called in for air refueling and asked for the UAE mission, and when they heard a female voice on the other side, they actually paused for about 20 seconds, radio silence, because a woman talking in a arab country to a man and about weapons’ use.

    Must have blown their minds.

  8. Budur Says:

Everyone should know that even before this war she was making strives for women in the arab world. Earlier this year, the Emirati government presented Mansouri the Pride of the Emirates medal for excellence in her field.

  9. Habiba Says:

The fight against ISIS comes down to; Do you want a model or a society that allows women to become ministers in government, female fighter pilots, business executives, artists — or do you want a society where, if a woman doesn’t cover up in public, she’s beaten or she’s lashed or she’s raped. I mean this is ultimately what this breaks down to.

  10. Ellen Says:

Linda#3, white men in America would be every bit as restrictive against women as the muslims are if they could pull it off legally using religion as a justification.

  11. Irene Says:

Kelly#5, It doesn’t matter what Obama does for this country white men can’t allow a black man to be honored if it bests their accomplishments as POTUS.

  12. IG Says:

There are other women in the UAE airforce. My aunt is one. She was with Maj. Mariam Al Mansouri as one of the 3 to join the Emirati air force when it admitted women.

  13. Cyd Says:

Just so you know Michelle, Saudi Arabia has sent one of its princes to pilot a F-15 bombing run.

Saudi Arabia’s decision to publicise Prince Khaled’s role is likely two-fold, reassuring the west of the Kingdom’s firm stance against extremist groups and warning Saudi citizens that the Islamic State, also known as Isil or Isis, is an enemy of the Crown.

  14. Elif Says:

Michelle, we in the Arab world that do not support ISIS don’t refer to them as ISIS or Isl or any of those acronyms. We call them dens of “Daesh.

Literally translated it means Dawlat al-Islāmiyya fī al-Irāq wa s-Shām.

    It is a derogatory term.

  15. Hamid Says:

Daesh is created by america so that america can get back to the middle east to steal iraq oil and gas.daesh is a group that they are pretending being muslim but they kill other muslims. their main ideology was created by abdolwahhab.he was the mercenary of engalnd in saudi arabia.he created the wahhabism. zionist ideology injected in muslims ideology.

  16. Amed Says:

ISIS/ISL, is known pejoratively as Daesh

  17. Faaiz Says:

ISIS = Israeli Sham Imitating Stupidity

Possibly. We really don’t know ISIS. It could easily be Israel pretending to be Muslim, to make the Muslims look bad. Wait until they take off their masks before deciding who they are.

Strangely enough, Israel isn’t the least bit afraid of ISIS. ISIS never kills any Jews. And Israel is urging us to fight Iran instead of ISIS. ISIS likes to bomb hospitals, just like Israel does. We should never judge a book by its cover.

ISIS beheaded a couple of American journalists. Maybe those journalists were gonna blow the lid off the whole teapot. God knows.

  18. Henri Says:

guerre sémantique contre le groupe terroriste, en adoptant officiellement l’acronyme arabe “Daech” pour désigner l’EI. Le ministre français des Affaires étrangères, Laurent Fabius

  19. jamal Says:

daesh is derived from the word: Douche.

  20. Fadi Says:

term “Daeshi” has been used a derogatory term in some parts of the Middle East. Some analysts have suggested that the dislike of the term comes from its similarity to another Arabic word, دعس, or Das. That word means to […]

  21. Rock Says:

Here’s an interesting quote (from 2005 http://www.jlaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=330326) “In the land between rivers shall arise a new state, It will grow into a new Caliphate. For over 300 years will its power last. But the Shadow won’t be pleased when this has passed.” (The ‘shadow’ is the ‘shadow of terror’, i.e. Al Qa’eda).

  22. Ashur Says:

it impresses me how intelligent people can sit and do all this research and learn history and try to make sense or plan of how these isis people think or there agenda but its a waist of time. these idiots are animals they are too stupid you give them way too much credit. lets just kill them and get it over with. who cares what there name means or where it comes from. Assyria will soon rise and crush these weak pigs

  23. Peter Says:

Faaiz#17, You should give up meth. Look what it’s doing to your mind.
