How Can You Not Love This Guy?

Good morning!

Cynthia: Great question. My thoughts exactly!

Readers: In case you don’t know what Cynthia and I are talking about, here’s the write from the Huff Po. It is Wednesday, hump day, and we all need a little break from the serious but important stuff. Although, this is still politics but the more humorous side of it.

Obama Has Perfect Reaction To Woman’s Jealous Boyfriend

President Barack Obama had no problems casting his ballot for the midterm elections on Monday, but he did run into another problem at the voting booth — a jealous boyfriend.

According to CNN, Obama stood next to Aia Cooper as he voted in Chicago. While the two were voting, Cooper’s fiancé Mike Jones warned the president: “Don’t touch my girlfriend.”

“You know, I really wasn’t planning on it,” Obama replied.

Cooper, clearly embarrassed, apologized to the president, saying, “Please excuse him.” But Obama called out Cooper’s fiancé, calling him “an example of a brother just embarrassing you for no reason, just for no reason whatsoever.”

Obama told Cooper she’d go home to tell her friends and family, “I can’t believe Mike, he’s such a fool.”

“He really is,” Cooper agreed, laughing.

Obama didn’t totally pile on the criticism. He joked that despite the comment, “Mike seems like a decent guy.”

♥♥♥

Readers: Oh, what I would’ve given to be voting alongside of our president. The kiss would’ve been sweet too.

Blog me.

Now go vote. :) I just had to sneak that in.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. I hope this gets in. Just wanted to say. I love the guy. If only I had been in Hawaii when he was. This white girl would have been all over him.

  2. Helen Says:

He can really think on his feet.

  3. George B. Says:

We whites may have invented the stereotypes… but a lot of us are blind to how we use (and abuse) them.

When I was growing up in the 80′s, I was SURE that by the time I was … oh, 25… my generation would have shown everyone how racism was so uncool. And then at 35, I was thinking, yeah, these gen-X’ers are surely going to just dispose of this, cos it’s dragging down their chill, you know?

And next thing i know, it’s 2014 and people are still being hassled, still being thrown in jail, still being killed in the street… for no other reason than being .

WTF happened? It’s simple. We ASSUMED someone else would take care of the stereotypes, phase them out, and everything would be fine. And yeah, it’s 30 years after I dreamed of a racism-free nation, and all along, every one of us has been looking for someone else to do the work.

Enough. It’s time we all broke a sweat here.

  4. RG Says:

It’s probably not every day that Obama gets called out like that, but his response proves that he may just be the coolest president — if not the coolest man — in U.S. history. Hey, I’d be threatened too if I were Cooper’s boyfriend.

  5. RG Says:

That was the tease if you want to hear and see the full version of the ” the coolest man — in U.S. history.” Check this out. http://www.bustle.com/articles/45212-obamas-response-to-mr-president-dont-touch-my-girlfriend-was-perfect-video

  6. Loretta Says:

He definitely has a sense of humor and the wit to use it well.

  7. Jen Says:

Imagine, saying something like that to the President of the United States. You’d think he would have asked for a picture but instead makes a snide remark to him! He should have apologized.

  8. Sabrina Says:

This was just another example of a man thinking a woman’s anatomy is his because he has a relationship with her.

  9. Alice Says:

The man can think on his feet like no other POTUS before him.

Yes, Michelle, he was Super Smooth.

Nurse Amber Vinson is free of the Ebola virus. It seems the drug companies have the cure. They are just not going to make it available to the blacks in West Africa.

    UHM. I wonder why?

  14. Gary Says:

    GOP = Gods of Plutocracy

Plutocracy is the rule by the super-rich capitalists and their retainers. In a plutocracy the middle class is controlled though taxation, low-cost imports (free trade) and corrupt politicians and in a communist system the middle class is exterminated.

The perfect plutocracy consists of two classes only—the plutocrats and their overseers and the subsistence-level poor. The degree of economic inequality is staggering as is the low level of social mobility.

  17. Health Info Says:

BPA-Free Plastics Are Safe, Right? Don’t be so sure….

What you need to know to protect yourself.

    by Dr. Nan Kathryn Fuchs

You’ve probably heard about BPA, the dangerous chemical found in plastics. I’ve been warning my readers about BPA for the past five years. And many of you have listened. You’ve refused to buy bottles and containers that contain BPA.

The Plastics manufacturers have listened, too. They’ve saved their industry and calmed the public by coming up with new “BPA-free” bottles and containers. What they failed to tell anyone was that many of these products contain BPS, a chemical similar to BPA. And new studies show that BPS is just as toxic as BPA!

Just like BPA, it mimics estrogen. Just like BPA, it interferes with the way cells respond to existing estrogen. Just like BPA, it changes cell growth patterns. And a brand new study has found that it does all this even in tiny doses!

And BPS isn’t just found in bottles and containers. It’s found in 100% of thermal cash register and credit card receipts.3 It’s found in 87% of paper money and 52% of recycled paper. It’s even in the paper made for ultrasound machines which means that even pregnant women and their children are exposed!

And now this toxin is ending up where it doesn’t belong… in our bodies. Researchers have discovered BPS in the urine of a whopping 93% of Americans they tested! Yes, 93%!

And BPS isn’t the only toxin that may be lurking in your body…

In one recent study, scientists tested a group of families for 107 different man made toxins. They tested the blood and urine samples from every family member, including grandparents, parents and children. Here’s what they found… Every single person from the youngest to the oldest was contaminated with toxins! They found PCBs, organochlorine pesticides, brominated flame retardants, perfluorinated chemicals, and more.

A comprehensive survey by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control found 148 different chemicals in the blood and urine samples of 2,400 Americans.More than a quarter of all the samples contained benzo(a)pryene, a toxin found in automobile exhaust fumes. And nine out of ten samples contained a mixture of toxic pesticides.

National Geographic Magazine paid nearly $15,000 to test one of their reporters for the presence of 320 different chemicals as part of an undercover investigation into environmental toxins. They discovered that the reporter’s level of one flame retardant chemical was so high it would have been considered alarming, even if the reporter had worked in a plant that manufactured the chemical!

A Mount Sinai School of Medicine study found a total of 167 different chemicals in the blood and urine samples of volunteers. That’s an average of 91 toxins each. They found lead, dioxins, PCBs, phthalate DEHP, as well as compounds that have been banned for more than a quarter century. Bottom line: every single person in every study was contaminated.

So, if you’re tired all the time, this could be the reason why…

If you suffer from joint pain and inflammation, this could be the reason why…

And if you’re plagued by “senior moments” and brain fog, this could be the reason why…

  18. lill on Guam Says:

    Hafa Adai:

Guam Memorial Hospital now has a doctor on board with experience in treating ebola patients in Liberia. That doctor is ER Dr. Georgina Calderon. GMH Administrator Joe Verga tells us she’s now in charge of preparing a response team for the hospital in case ebola ever reaches the island.

Dr. Calderon says, “The hospital is taking ebola preparedness very seriously. We’ll prepare the hospital to make this a safe environment for both our patients and staff.”

Dr. Calderon tells us how it was like at the hospital she worked in when the epidemic started in Africa. She says, “It all comes down to preparation. Work with what you have. We had very little, but it also created opportunity for education. We did what we could.”

In addition to introducing Dr. Calderon, the hospital is also educating and training their staff on ebola as part of their Annual Infection Control Fair.

Nursing student Jeanette Alcaide says, “It’s a good idea. It helps us be prepared with the ebola preparation if ever it came to Guam. I think it’s really good. It’s making us feel safer on the island.”

With his staff being educated on ebola and with an experienced doctor on board, Verga reassures us that everything is under control.

“If someone showed up on our doors today, we would do our best to handle them. We have our PPE, isolations rooms but we want to continue to improve our preparedness. Certainly, this isn’t anything to be hysterical about. There’s a lot to be said with how isolated we are,” Verga says.
    ====================
Guam Memorial Hospital is the place possible ebola patients will be sent. Let’s hope it will be ready to accept those patients?
