Choking Girls Around The World

Good morning!

Ito: It is thoroughly disgusting. And even more sickening that he has sold out seminars all over the country and overseas teaching men to abuse women, by telling them to disregard a woman’s consent and take it – basically telling men that it is OK to rape. Can it get any worse for women? Unfortunately…the answer is yes.

This came across my plate the other day. This is in addition to what you posted.

From Think Progress:

‘Choking Girls All Around The World’ Seminar Ends In Australia Amid Protests

‘Choking Girls All Around The World’ Seminar Ends In Australia Amid Protests

Julien Blanc

CREDIT: TWITTER

Self-proclaimed “date coach” Julien Blanc has cancelled his seminar tour in Australia and left the country after officials revoked his visa in light of online protests that highlighted his longtime promotion of abusive behavior against women.

In recent months, Blanc, a representative of global dating help company Real Social Dynamics, attained a following of men desperate for companionship through his “Ph.D. in female attraction” program. The dating strategy Blanc touts in online videos and in-person sessions centered on the use of force and disregard of consent as a means of gaining a woman’s attention.

The Australia leg of Blanc’s world tour — which would have lasted until December — included a seminar on a boat in Melbourne. On Friday, Australian officials confirmed Blanc and his assistant’s overnight departure during a news conference.

“The matter was raised with us and we had it investigated and this fellow looked at,” Australian Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said, according to The Guardian. “This guy wasn’t putting forward political ideas, he was putting forward abuse that was derogatory to women and that’s just something, those are values abhorred in this country.”

Blanc took things further when he put his words into action through his social media campaign, #ChokingGirlsAllAroundTheWorld, a compilation of graphic photos that show him choking women. A viral YouTube video also follows Blanc as he wrings a Japanese woman’s neck and pushes it toward his pelvic area during a walk through the streets of Tokyo.

Experts say that the danger of what some may consider seemingly innocent act lies in a belief among some men that they are entitled to women’s bodies, as seen earlier this year when Elliot Rodger complained about women rejecting him in a video before killing six people, injuring 13, and taking his own life near the University of California, Santa Barbara campus.

In recent weeks, conversations about street harassment have increased, especially after the release of a YouTube video that captured a woman being harassed within a 10-hour span as she walked through the streets of New York City. Producers of the video said their project highlighted how catcalling threatens a woman’s safety and peace of mind. That’s not hard to believe. Attempts by women to avoid or confront their cat callers have ended violently, as seen in Detroit and New York earlier this year.

The nightmare for many women around the world goes beyond the streets and into the home. In its 2013 report, the World Health Organization (WHO) designated violence against women as a global health epidemic. It found that one in three women worldwide has experienced intimate partner or sexual violence and nearly 40 percent of murders of women were committed by intimate partners.

The same holds true domestically. In the United States, women represent 85 percent of domestic abuse victims. While nearly 7.8 million women have been raped at some point in their lives, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence says that cases usually go unreported, due in part to the proximity of the assailant. The epidemic has touched women from all walks of life. Today, a college with 10,000 students could experience as many as 350 sexual assaultsannually, according to the National Institute of Justice, an umbrella organization of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Domestic violence also takes an emotional and financial toll on victims. WHO found that victims stood twice as likely to face depression and three times as likely to develop alcohol use disorders. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report showed that victims of intimate violence missed a total of 8 million work days annually. The U.S. health care system also doles $5.8 billion per year toward helping victims, nearly half of which goes to direct medical and mental health services.

It should be no surprise as to why members of anti-domestic violence groups have likened Blanc’s video — which has had more than 50,000 hits — to lessons on how to rape. D.C.-based columnist Jennifer Li has launched a Change.orgpetition telling hotels across the world to not let Blanc and Real Social Dynamics hosts seminars in their venues. In addition to Melbourne, venues in Brisbane, Austin, and Seattle, and online ticketing service Eventbrite have answered the call.

In a recent Independent article, Li issued a similar charge to venues in Japan ahead of Blanc’s tour in the country, scheduled to kick off in a matter of weeks.

“I really hope we can stop him before he starts assaulting the women there again,” Li said. “The only way to take someone like him down is by publicly shaming them. I know this is giving him more publicity, but I’m hoping it’s the type of publicity that will mean that shitbags like him aren’t able to find work.”

I like this guy. I wish he would come to Санкт-Петербург. Oh, and Doug we think that you are not real. We believe that Michelle made you up to show that she is the head of her house.

  2. Jorge Says:

Michelle, it that guy ran as a republican, he could unseat any democrat he ran against except Obama. White women would elect him in a NY minute.

This twisted Guru of love was preaching male abuse derogatory to Women and that is something that people have been fighting against for over a hundred years — Women‘s equality to Men — Equal pay, the ability to vote, and the ability for Women to be in charge of what happens to their bodies concerning pregnancy and abortion.

Blanc put his words into action through his social media campaign, #ChokingGirlsAllAroundTheWorld — a compilation of graphic photos that show him choking women as if it were OK and normal.

This is a concept that will sell to White Males and OTWs worldwide like candy to babies. Some Anti-Domestic Violence groups have likened Blanc’s video which has had more than 50,000 hits, to lessons on how to rape Women. This must not be tolerated by citizens or Politicians of this or any other democratic Nation. It is like the literature and attitude against Jews in Germany in the beginning of WWII. They were not considered human and therefore choking or any form of pain or death was sure to follow. It must be stopped in its tracks . . . NOW.

  4. Aito Says:

Here in Japan we like Mr. Blanc.

  5. Marian Says:

Thanks Howie. Some men are gentlemen.

  6. Owen Says:

C’om the same bitches complaining about getting smacked one when they need it are the same bitches lining up to vote for men who say they aren’t worth equal pay.

  7. HOWIE Says:

Japan has a history of treating Women as second class citizens. The Geisha Girl takes care of her man . . . she bathes him, she dresses funny for him and does what he asks of her.

Perhaps this is where the wires cross. Women have been subservient to men for hundreds of years in Japanese culture.

It makes sense that these men accept Julien Blanc and what he preaches of strangulation of Women to men. The Japanese have a history of extremes such as Tea Ceremonies and the Geisha Girl. Women have always been doormats to be stepped on in the Japanese culture.

Japanese men travel to other countries to practice their sick fetishes. Now they have another to add to the list . . . Strangulation of Women. How Sick!

  8. Zen Lill Says:

#30 Doris, thank you, I appreciate that.

& no offense to anyone but I have wondered if this would be the place it is without Azza (in the beginning) and all the aliens visitors and Howie and his stories and personal relationship with CARR and ALL the other regulars from A to Z
… and it really doesn’t matter bc we are here and it makes the space what it is, why overanalyze it? Or any one ‘character’?

#4 Aito, I’m sure you do, I have friends who’ve told me Japanese men have the weirdest sexual preferences…actually weird is too nice…use your imagination…I hear your big into humiliation and take ‘tied up’ to a whole ‘nother level and then add choking.
    No further comment.

This guy, Blanc, has taken things WAY too far with his BS … he thinks it’s ok bc the women aren’t protesting him (NOT faulting women totally here don’t go getting crazy) but he needs a humiliating session with some fists. Public shaming is good, too.

    Luv, Zen Lill

  9. Chise Says:

Zen Lill#8, so correct you are. I live here and everywhere I go in my country the Japanese men are sick. They love very young girls. In your country they would be considered pedophiles, but it is tolerated here in Japan.

  10. Roger Says:

Frankly, I think most of the women here are making too much about this Most of the women I know who I have taken a little pussy from loved it. Yeah, they may have protested in the beginning. But once I smacked the bitch and asked her why was she at my apartment if she didn’t want to get fucked. They usually shut the fuck up and took the dick.

  11. Ellen Says:

The kind of men who listen to that man are losers who couldn’t get a woman to agree to have sex with them unless they were buying it.

  12. Daiki Says:

I think it is unfair to label all Japanese men as being misogynistic. I am Japanese and I live in Japan. I don’t agree with this man’s philosophy.

  13. Ayame Says:

Howie#7, you basically called it the way it is in Japan. The men are about their own pleasures. They are sexually deviants from way back.

  14. Ani Says:

I am Korean and I have lived here in Japan most of my life. They are a very bigoted, racist and narcissistic people. The men see women as mere sex objects. The women are supposed to accept the fact that old men love young school girls.

  15. Ramone Says:

I wouldn’t be so quick to throw stones if I were an American. When I lived in America some 11 years ago. The men there were pretty sexist. The laws favored men and it had only been shortly when a man could force his wife to have sex with him as his conjugal right.

  16. Sonja Says:

Don’t leave out south american men. They think they own a woman once she becomes engaged or marries them. The law allows men to kill women under certain possessive circumstances.

  17. Halina Says:

Michelle, I live in ОренбургRussia. Women here have a very difficult time. The law expects us to tolerate men groping us at work. They are either drunk or going somewhere to get drunk.

On the way there and back they act as if any woman they come across is their for their personal pleasure.

  18. Zen Lill Says:

#10 Roger, you deserve shunning as much as this dude does – and the exact reason I never go to anyone’s apt, ever…
a lot of men see that as a ‘yes’ straightaway and don’t take no very well, I don’t take chances with my life and my preferences. you’re type are very sick, and those women probably went along with you bc they felt they didn’t have a choice, someone like you might get violent.

#11 Ellen, exactamente, the LOSER and his following of LOSERS have no real man game so they have to rely on crap tactics, can you say pathetic?

#12 Daiki, as with everything else here, we are talking about SOME not all men, you may very well be the one good man in Japan.

  19. Al Says:

Australia has the right idea. Running this f*&head Blanc out of town on a rail. Having discussed this topic at length with Howie, there is not much that I can add.

This guy Blanc and his ideas are as sick as they come. It is hard to believe that he could find an audience, much less sell a seminar. Zen Lill said it, this guy needs a good old fashioned ass whoopin’. It boggles my mind that there are so many more misogynistic men just like him.

  20. Zen Lill Says:

Yes Al’a'mode I’m as non violent as they come, but sometimes a good old fashioned can of whoop ass is a good solution.
    - ZL

  21. Jenna Says:

Al, I live in Australia. This was the first time I heard of it. But like you said my country has the right idea about this creep.

  22. Vivv Says:

Howie. Thanks for the reminder. We are on it.

  23. Gwen Says:

Zen Lill#20, 2 years ago I was one of those naive women who went to a man’s apartment. We had been dating for about 3 weeks. We had been on several dates. I thought I could trust him.

When he invited me up to his apartment for a drink after dinner. I never suspected he would turn violent. We had been on over a dozen dinner dates and he was a perfect gentleman.

I had a bit too much wine and felt sleepy. I said that I thought he should take me home. He acted like I had slapped him and just sat down next to me and started taking my clothes off. I resisted and he slapped me and called me a “cock tease.”

I tried to get up and he held me down and removed my panty and raped me. He forced me to spend the night. I fell asleep from the wine. I woke up in the middle of the night with him having sex with me again.

He forced me to give him head after he came and then he left me along until the morning. I got up early and left quietly. He called me later as if nothing had happened.

I told him I was going to call the police and report him. He laughed and said “go ahead and try it baby. I’m a lawyer I’ll wipe the floor with you after you have spent good money on a lawyer.”

I hung up and never spoke to him again. I learned my lesson. I don’t go to any man’s house. I still have nightmares about that creep. I thought he was such a gentleman.

  24. Zen Lill Says:

Gwen, I’m sorry you had to deal with that. That’s what the Rogers of the world and loser males w no real man game do, they take what they want and pretend you wanted it … Then blame you for coming over.

    That’s why I no go, not unless I’m inviting what I want…so it’s my timing/choice.

I have to tell you all, I study these people, these relationship experts out there, all of them – from man game to women and how to find a mate relationship experts, and they’re polar opposite programs.

This Julian Blanc is not the only one out there, there’s another man (a few, they’re decidedly less violent but players ninetheless) & I can’t remember his name right now but he says … play this game: invite her to come over so you can go to a restaurant near your place so it’s easier for her to come over to your apt. then answer the door with your shirt unbuttoned and a half a glass of wine saying your running late and ask her she wants a glass of wine, if she says yes that means you’re likely going to get laid tonight, if she kicks off her shoes when she takes the wine you’re getting laid now without dinner, if she doesn’t want to come in or take the wine you’re not gonna get laid until she wants it … So this bs is everywhere on the internet. Watch your own backs!!

I’ll tell you another one because it’s actually a funny story I researched a ‘player’ site who teaches seminars to men … and then I went out to meet a friend for coffee and as I was standing putting honey and cream in my coffee a man came up and gave me a compliment about my hair and then my ring, the latter was very specific and I didn’t even look up yet and I thought wow that’s right out of this mans playbook that I just read on the Internet (one quick compliment about her hair or style never her body/face and another specific one about bag/jewelry so she sees you’re observant and paying attention, this will really turn on hot ones who are tired of hearing about their pretty features or bodies) and when I turned and looked up it was that ‘expert’ I said nothing and Mona Lisa smiled him murmured thanks and walked away.

He tried his next tactic which is the mild insult technique, so bullshitty if you’re paying attention and just stupid if you aren’t and that’s where he’s kinda half funny half goofing in you (intended to create a mini moment of false intimacy) …
I walked and found my friend and he came over a few minutes later to tell me that he gives seminars about ‘getting hot women in bed now’ and that I was a first that walked away without at least handing over a phone number.
    Well… There’s a first for everything, now isn’t there?

So again, watch your backs and I know many if you will rail on about why should we have to and it’s not fair and you even blame me for giving these games away. I’m doing it so you can protect yourself so you dont end up having nightmares like Gwen bc reading her story made me Ill and there are men just waiting for you to leave an opening fr them.
I know it’s harsh but I still manage to stay sweet and nice, I just watch carefully who I invite where…

And that’s the end of my public service announcement.

Luv all the women here, men here you better start upping your real man game bc the word is out about your dumb tricks Oooo

The resonance set up to cause the next earthquake in Japan is causing flight problems for commercial flights from the America to Guam. While this may be temporarily tolerated because it will not affect the TWO, it is of concern to the Federation.

    Fix it or stop.

  26. Brittany Says:

Thanks Zen Lill#22 for the advice. I went out with a creep that used the hair and ring technique. I actually thought he was a gentleman. We had a relationship that involved him inviting me out “whenever he came in town for a business trip,” ( I later found out he was married with two children and lived in my city).

This went on for about a month and a half before he invited me back to his hotel because he received a call while we were waiting to be served dinner and he informed me that it was a business emergency and he would have to leave in a few hours.

He said that he wanted to at least have a glass of champagne and talk with me before he had to catch his flight out. I didn’t suspect a thing and agreed. I became suspicious when we arrived at his hotel and there was a bottle of Champaign in a bucket in his room.

Allowed him to pour me a glass before i excused my self to use his bathroom. There I took out my date rape drug straw and made sure my gun was ready with one in the chamber. I live in a carry state and I do.

When I tested the drink, it was positive. I pulled my gun and forced him to drink it. Then I forced him to get undressed and to show me where he kept the drug. I told him that I would call the police. In his pocket I got his driver’s license and learned he lived in the city.

I used his cell phone to call his wife and tell her he was in a hotel room attempting to date rape me. I took pictures of him naked and I waited for his wife to arrive.

I called the police and told them what I had done, they told me to not allow the wife in until they arrived. The wife and the cops arrived about the same time.

When he went on trial we had 11 other women who showed up to testify that he had date raped them.

Yes, Zen Lill there are many creeps out there like that.

  27. Hersilia Says:

I was raped by a guy who I had been dating for 2 weeks. He said that he wanted to cook for me. I went to his home and he drugged the food. He knew that I didn’t drink so he put it in the food.

When I awoke I was naked and sore. He was also naked beside me smiling as he said the wait was well worth it. We went court but I lost. He got away with it.

  28. Lidia Says:

I went out with this very nice gentleman for 21/2 months. I prided myself on the 90 day vetting. He was so nice that I decided to go to his apartment with him. He had been a perfect gentleman. He never made any sexual advances or tried to touch me inappropriately.

Some of the times we were on dates, I kind of wished he had. He was handsome, tall and a wonderful dancer. His compliments were never about my body but my choice of clothes and my jewelry or shoes. He met members of my family and they all said that “this one is a keeper.”

So when he showed up in a tie and suit to pick me up for our game of tennis I didn’t think twice about going with him to his apartment while he dressed for the game.

When we arrived he said that he didn’t want to be late for the court that we had rented so he started undressing as soon as we entered his apartment. He offered me a beer but I said I didn’t think we should drink before the match. He insisted that one wouldn’t hurt and it was hot so I had one.

We had never had sex, but we had gotten pretty close many times. So I wasn’t that alarmed when he stripped to his shorts and attempted to kiss me before he put on his sports attire.

We kissed and then he stared pulling my shorts down, I told him no, but he just kept at it until I was naked from the waist down. Now I was scared so I screamed for him stop. I told him I wanted to leave but he just continued until he had raped me.

I felt so ashamed and stupid for trusting him. I just got my clothes and told him to take me home. He did. I never told my family why I never brought him around again. I just said he had not called me.

He is still calling me that was over a year ago. If I were Alycedale I would kill the bastard. But I’m just a stupid girl who got raped for it.

  29. Ira Says:

I am a Thai born in America with parents from Vietnam. They never approved of my dating the black boys in my high school. So when I went to college to please them I dated only asians (not Japanese because the hated them as much as they did the blacks) and white men.

In my junior year I was introduced to this “nice Thai boy” by my parents. He was a dentist. The son of a friend of my parents. We dated through the rest of my Junior and senior year. He convinced me to switch to a dental major and helped me get into dental school.

We came close to having sex many times but I told him I was a good Thai girl and I would wait for marriage before I had sex. I had told this to the 2 black boys I dated in high school and they never pressured me to have sex. So I assumed that this “nice Thai boy” would be as understanding.

He never was. He continued to go farther and farther each time we were alone. I was in love with him so I tolerated his attempts. I even told myself that it was flattering that he showed such marital desires for me. After all he always stopped when I asked him to.

Well one night at his apartment he didn’t and I was raped. He said that he would marry me if I didn’t tell my or his parents. I was scared to tell my parents that I had put myself in that position many times before by going to his apartment so i agreed.

In the months that followed he raped me whenever he felt like it He said that since we had done it, this was nothing. When I graduated from Dental School, I discovered that he had a child by another woman.

She showed up at my graduation and introduced me to his 4 year old son. He looked so much like him, I knew instantly she was telling me the truth. She said that he had raped her when she was 15 and she continued to have sex with him afterwards. She got pregnant when she was 16 and this was his child.

I told her not to mention it and that I would take care of it. I told my parents about it and they agreed to meet with the girl. When they saw the child, they too agreed that she was telling the truth.

Then I cried and told them he had raped me also and that he was continuing to do so and that I was afraid of him. My father is a retired Colonel in the North Vietnamese Regular Army.

He invited Som to go with him to visit relatives in Vietnam. They crossed the border to Thailand. There my father and some of my other relatives castrated him. The didn’t kill him because he had a child. They pickled his penis and balls and sent them a year later to his parents with an explanation for why they did it.

His parents agreed to pay a sum to my family for the loss of my virginity and they agreed to not kill their son. Som is still practicing dentistry in America but I doubt if he is raping any more women.

I was not able to trust a man for years after that. My family and I have spoken for 3 years because I married a black dentist who I met during a dental seminar in New Orleans. At first they were okay with it because they thought he was white. All his relatives that attended the wedding preparations looked white.

It was only during the wedding that they discovered that he had black relatives. After the wedding they never spoke with me or him again. Still I am very happy. Marc is wonderful and our two lovely children make me deliciously happy.

I haven’t told him about the rape because I still feel so stupid for allowing it to continue for years after the first rape. I probably should get therapy for it but for now I am getting some relief by telling it for the first time here.

  30. Ellen Says:

Zen Lill#24, I actually prefer men who I have been dating for a while to say they love my ass or eyes or other body parts. As long as they keep their hands to themselves unless invited otherwise, I see it as a healthy response to my looks.

I have on occasion met a man who says all the right things at the right times. I like them too, but I trust no male. I am 29. I have been in three serious relationships, each lasting about 3 years. I have had sex with all of them, but on my own terms.

Recently I met a man who I have vetted for 93 days. I am about to allow him to have sex with me. It has been so tempting to make love with this guy because he is gorgeous. He is the younger brother of my GYNO. I met him in the waiting room when he came to visit his brother.

He is an anesthesiologist. He has been married but has no children. I googled him and discovered that he has been accused of date rape. The charge was that he used a drug to rape a woman. He prevailed in the trial and he refused to settle with her in a civil suit later and prevailed there also.

Reading this blog has me wondering, if he is all he pretends to be. He has been a perfect gentleman with me. Since I want to have sex with him and he has passed the vetted time I set for him. I will be going to his condo for a party and afterwards I told him I would stay to help him clean up.

I have decided to say no in the middle of our petting to see if he will stop. If he does, I will have sex with him. If he doesn’t I will shoot the bastard ala my hero Alycedale. This is a stand-your-ground state, and I intend to stand mine.

I hope this works out because I would hate to lose this seemingly good catch and more importantly I would hate to lose my GYN i have had for 19 years.

  31. George, WN Says:

Zen Lill you have to admit some women like it rough. They may say no, but they appreciate a strong man who will not take no for an answer. They want someone to take that pussy.

    I’m there man!

  32. Thelma Says:

Michelle, that creep had a sell out seminar a few years ago in Australia. My cousin attended and bragged to us about what he learned and how successful he had been since.

  33. Lucy, ST Says:

    Hersilia#27;

He probably didn’t drug your food. He probably drugged the non-alcoholic drink you had.
    —————————
    Facts About Date Rape Drugs

Though alcoholic beverages are the most commonly spiked, sticking to non-alcoholic drinks isn’t a surefire way to protect yourself. Date rape drugs are usually tasteless, odorless, and colorless. They’re also easily blended with most liquids, making the drugs an easy tool to facilitate sexual assault.

The most commonly used date rape drugs are:

    Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB)
    Gamma-butyrolactone (GBL)
    Benzodiazepines (Valium, Librium, Xanax, Ativan)
    Rohypnol
    Ketamine
    Zolpidem (Ambien)
    ===========================
Most women only worry about their alcohol drinks. Women should never trust any liquid a man gives her if she leaves it alone.

Men control drug testing and they are not interested in a test that will show their crimes against women. If you doubt me check this out.

Okay now for some frank talk. This could be a scam by men to get women to donate money to a non existent product that we wish existed. I for one am not sending these people a dime.

But I will keep my antenna out in the event it becomes viable. In the mean time I rely on Smith & Wesson to take down the criminals.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Bogus Casting Calls Lead Straight to Your Wallet
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The surge in popularity of TV and local talent shows is feeding the dreams of many performers into carefully choreographed casting call scams.

The unprecedented number of amateur talent shows that just might lead participants to the big time has given this particular scam a major boost, often with dubious organizations describing themselves as “casting agencies.”

Local auditions for genuine shows are now held across the country, followed by regional and, finally, national selection processes — a huge scope for the tricksters.

The possibility of taking part in reality-type shows — such as Project Runway and cooking or baking contests, which draw on the public rather than professionals for participants — adds further scam opportunities.

And the never-ending demand for movie extras also increases the attraction of phony casting calls.

The main aim of the scam is to get victims to pay upfront for the chance to take part in auditions, other selection processes and even promotions associated with the shows.

    The latest tricks include:

    * Advertising casting calls on Craigslist and other websites, for which entrants are charged a fee.

The event may or may not take place.

    * Using the name of a top talent or reality show to suggest some sort of connection with the genuine event, when there is none at all.

    * Promoting a “talent database,” for which potential performers must pay to register.

They may have to pay additional sums for professional CV preparation, recording of “showreels” or audition tapes, and profile photography.

These might even be genuine services but they’ll never reach the eyes of show organizers, despite the scammers’ promises.

And victims may also be told they must pay an annual fee to keep their records up to date and accessible to talent scouts.

    * Contacting schools and other youth organizations offering an opportunity for students to participate in a special show-related event, such as making a Christmas record.

Parents, schools and others are asked to pay a fee for each participant but the event either never takes place or the promotion is never released to the public.

    Ten Tips

It’s the shattered dreams as much as the out-of-pocket expenses that make this such a cruel scam.

So here are 10 things you can do to save your money and your heartbreak:

    1. Don’t pay to audition or take part in special talent show sessions. Genuine casting agencies for TV shows are paid a fee by the show producers and don’t charge for auditions.

    2. Avoid paying to register with a talent agency if you can. Most legit agencies don’t charge for registration but take a commission from any money you earn.

And don’t fall for promises your fee will be refunded once you start earning.

    3. If you really feel you must pay, or if you want to register with any agency at all, carefully check out their credentials online.

    4. Don’t apply for “rush” or urgent casting calls, or respond to ads that invite you to “call today” before, say, up to 10pm.

In the real TV world, such urgency would be highly unusual. It’s much more likely to be a scam.

    5. Local and regional heats of national talent competitions are usually advertised and promoted in local media.

You don’t need an agent; you either have to apply directly to the organizers or just turn up for the auditions. Either way, it won’t cost you anything more than your time.

    6. Beware of casting call ads appearing on Craigslist. Mostly they’re phony.

Sometimes they use logos of TV companies like “NBC” but the network TV companies rarely, if ever, audition directly. Production companies do their own casting.

    7. Likewise, be skeptical about any ad that uses inspirational terms like “follow your dreams” or “become a star.”

They’re using your emotions to lure you into a fee-paying scam.

    8. Ignore claims you can earn up to $300 a day as a TV or movie extra. The going rate is between $75 and $125.

Most extras are hired via their membership of the Screen Actors Guild. Unless large numbers of extras are needed, casting agencies generally don’t hire members of the public.

    9. Skills-based reality TV shows like those involving fashion design or cooking have a rigorous selection process.

No outside company or agent can get you a place on these shows at any price. Again, you have to apply directly to the production company.

    10. If a production company offers a guaranteed place in a program or movie in return for your investment in the show, it’s because they haven’t been able to raise finance from experts who know what makes a successful show.

You may get your moment in front of the camera, but at a high price that’s unlikely to buy you fame!

    Here’s the bottom line:

Through talent and reality shows, hundreds of people get their first break on the small screen or even the silver screen every year.

They may have gotten there via a casting call but, almost certainly, they didn’t pay upfront.

Alert of the Week: The launch of new iPhones (iPhone 6 and its big brother, the 6 Plus) together with a new operating system for nearly all Apple mobile devices (iOS 8) has revived an old and very dangerous scam.

Spoof ads have been appearing online and in emails saying the new operating system includes a feature called Wave that allows devices to be recharged in a microwave oven.

Don’t do it! Not only is it untrue but you’ll also wreck the phone and your microwave and risk an explosion. See an example of the ad here:

Time to conclude for today — have a great week!

  37. Zen Lill Says:

    #26 Brittany, #27 Hersilia, #28 Lidia, #29 Ira,
Thank you for sharing your stories, that truth will set you free and know that your unique but your stories are not and that’s why sharing them is soooo important, allow other women to learn from your mistakes…set them free, too.

… and #30 Ellen, I agree with you although why you would continue to view a man who’s been accused criminally and civilly as a catch is beyond me. Even if he was dealing with the 1% of women hell bent on screwing him over, that would red flag him for me (in other words, on the heap thanks for stopping by) and keep the great gyn, what’s one have to do with each other?

GeorgeWN, only AFTER I am on with a man do we get to play the really fun intimate/passionate games, no it ain’t okay for YOU to decide when it’s time to believe that my no or just my agreement to be macking wichoo to step into what YOU want.

You bes’ watch your arse with that, there will be more Alycedale’s out there soon, and you’ll have that ‘she wants it’ shit typed on your gravestone.

Alycedale, I’m with you, watch your beverages, and those products are likely bs sites.

I tell my kid now, always be in the room watching who is pouring what, spirits or not … and I don’t carry a weapon but I know how to shut down bad game in 30 seconds and I do it nicely bc I don’t want to provoke violent reactions (did that in my teens/20′s and luckily didn’t receive violence, is it a drag that we even have to think this way – of course) but would you enter a lion cage without being prepared on how to approach and handle?
    No.
So don’t think this is any different.
Listen, also, I’m not gorgeous (our host IS but I am pretty woman looking at best, though I most certainly love myself)

…but I AM an archetype that most men want to chalk up on the list so I get approached a lot, and age won’t ever matter (sexy confidence doesn’t age so develop that)

Again, Ellen, I would urge you to rethink what a ‘catch’ means …
Could he be innocent, mayyyybe but why would you take a chance with your life like that?

More later, time to work now … have a funny story for you later.

Luv, Zen LIll (and women of MM, thank you again for being brave enough to speak openly)
