Just Noticing: “Observations From Keith Olbermann”

Posted by Michelle Moquin on September 18th, 2016

Good morning!

With all of this back and forth between those in favor and those who oppose, I thought this would be just perfect for “just noticing.”

I was such a fan of Olbermann. I rarely missed “Countdown with Keith Olberman” and “The Rachel Maddow Show.” The latter being one I obviously still watch. But once Olbermann left MSNBC, for some reason I only tuned into Current TV a few times and then never again. Why, I’m not sure because I think Olbermann is brilliant with his commentary. Out of sight, out of mind…he just never came across my radar and I never went seeking for him.

Well….He’s baackk!! And I’m delighted to announce,”He’s still got it!”

From GQ The Closer, via The Huff Po. It’s everything we already know jam-packed in 17+minutes of pure fact and fun…it’s illuminating albeit in some pretty sick and scary ways.

Watch it:

Keith Olbermann Is Back, And He Thinks Donald Trump Is A ‘Demonic Messiah’

Plus, he has 176 reasons why you-know-who shouldn’t be president.

(I guess I’m not the only one who is regarding the republican presidential candidate as you-know-who.)

Donald Trump has been called many things during his presidential campaign, but “demonic messiah in Oompa Loompa’s clothing” is probably a first.

That came courtesy of Keith Olbermann, who brought his colorful and sometimes controversial commentary style to his new GQ digital series, “The Closer,” on Tuesday.

His takedown of Trump will likely leave you nodding in assent and laughing.

Olbermann urged Americans to defend themselves against people who, like Trump, don’t commit “to anything except their own out-of-control minds and the bottomless pits of their egos” and called the Republican nominee “the most dangerous individual ever nominated by a major party for the highest office in this country.”

He was just getting started.

“His base wants few details and fewer facts; they just want to burn it down and blame their failures on the collective ‘other,’” Olbermann continued. “And Donald John Trump is their demonic messiah in Oompa Loompa’s clothing. We must stop him.”

Olbermann then began naming “176 shocking things Donald Trump has done this election.” Ready to count along?

Call it a history lesson ― or a warning.

“This is madness,” Olbermann concluded. “Any questions?”

Watch above.

H/T Raw Story

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liarrampant xenophoberacistmisogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.

🙈🙊🙉

Readers: So…heard enough? Perhaps Fallon wouldn’t inspire sitting straddlers, but with so much stupidity and ignorance out there, some people are just looking for an excuse, any excuse to keep the country white and “make America great again.”

Olbermann, on the other hand is diligently dishing out the facts, so I’m hoping Obermann’s words will wake-up, inspire, and take the leap to the left. Mind you, I’m not holding my breath. Although I have to say, this blog has had success in turning a few. Men too.

But some ladies, really? Wha’at’s up?! After all the misogynistic and sexist comments, do you really want a man who has no concern for women, their needs, their health? The man literally has no respect for women. That is the part that I struggle with when I see all of these women siding with him. It’s mindblowing to me. This is the time for women to come together in solidarity. For women to rise together. It’s OUR time. Give the girl a chance.

One can only keep doing their best and move forward. That’s my game plan. And thankfully with all of you here with me, let me say we are quite the team. :)

Any who…Excited Olbermann is back. Can’t wait to hear more of his brilliant banter.

Thoughts? Blog me.

Happy Sunday, everyone! It is a gorgeous stellar day here. I hope yours is the same. Thanks again for reading and engaging.

Peace, baby.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. 1. Zen Lill Says:

    Damn, bring it, Keith O!

The highlights to me: Isis, attacking a list of women, best memory then no memory of saying that, print more money, draw a crowd larger than MLK dream speech (keep dreamin’), nuclear triad, the only triad he knows well is the Dark Triad (because there is nothing ‘light’ about narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy), and the big appendage, doubt it, men with swagger don’t really need to announce it ; ) he summed it up, lies lies and more lies – DANGEROUS, I concur. Can you hear me now?

Luv’d it, thanks for sharing and glad he’s back!

54 Ernie, yes at WF checking only then
65 Suzie Q move the money to a smaller bank that actually serves the needs of the community I lived in.
64 Ruby, right, ‘Lowly pawns holding the bag’ is correct, if the poor in the US weren’t busy trying to SURVIVE there’d be a revolution so everyone could THRIVE. It’s a sad state of affairs and a lot of campaign contribution reform would have to take place to change the open thievery. Will it happen, hmm, I don’t know it certainly serves politicians/corporations wallets as is…what would need to occur to make it change?

    Luv, Zen Lill

  2. SuzyQ Says:

Twice now zen lill you’ve misspelled my name. I’m wondering why.

  3. SuzyQ Says:

Michelle I’ve never watched Keith Olbermann. On your suggestion, I will now. Thank you.

  4. Zen Lill Says:

SuzyQ, Sorry about that. Forgive me?

  5. SuzyQ Says:

Nothing to forgive. I just wondered. Have a nice day

  6. Janet Says:

Hilary had it right trump and his basket of deplorables. Trump Supporters Threaten Muslim Woman Living in Lacey: KUOW has the recording of the first message they left. It goes: “Hello, Morshida, This is John C. Giles calling on behalf of the Donald Trump Association. I was just calling to see if I can get your support in getting all the foreigners out of the country. And f**k ‘em. F**k the Islamic community too. Nothing to do with your last name – get out of here though. Seriously.”

    http://kuow.org/post/im-terrified-trump-supporters-call-telling-me-go-home

  7. Irene Says:

Trumps supporters are bigots, bumpkins and rednecks.

  8. Tina Says:

I”ll play. Sociologists talk about the disaffected white underclass. Marxists talk about the lumpenproletariat, or riffraff, which makes “Trumpenproletariat” almost irresistible.

  9. Paula Says:

You mean the hillbilly class and white trash Americans.

  10. Kelly Says:

Seriously though. Trump supporters are not so much the people who live in the trailer courts as the people who own them.

White males are those owners. They are supporting trump because they have always been afraid of the OTW competition for their females.

I see the envy of my rich brothers when they compete with blacks on the basketball court. They smile at them, but they are with the crowd that is trying to get them kicked out of the club.

My oldest brother claims one of his best friends is _______ . He invites him into our home on occasion, but he is behind a movement to use a private gym that will cater only to white males.

He puts __________ down even though ________ is a wealthy, educated self made multimillionaire. The guy is a republican like the rest of us, but he doesn’t know how they despise him. My brother tells us women to never be alone with him or any “nigger.”

Those are your real trump supporters, white men with penis envy.

  11. Drake Says:

Glad somebody’s saying it. Why aren’t Democratic leaders rallying around Hillary on this? She said what needed to be said.

Their silence gives legitimacy to Trump, his surrogates, and the GOP crying foul all over the media. Republicans have one great advantage over Dems: their tribal loyalty knows no bounds. They circle the wagons whenever their candidates are attacked.

  12. Hollie Says:

Gary and Suzy Q, you guys nailed the state of this country and what we should do about it.

I will be giving up my WF account today.

  13. Kristy Says:

Drake#11, Agreed. Every time I look at the Democrats or “Liberals” in the US, all I can think of is, “stop hitting yourself!”

Then theyy ostracize people like Keith because he’s “too angry.” Really??

  14. George Says:

Not only is the FRUMP deplorable, as are his minions, but they are all detestable, disgusting, and devoid of any intelligence! And they wonder why Ms. Clinton is winning! To FRUMP, it’s just a game!

  15. Pruitt Says:

I wish Clinton hadn’t walked back the deplorable comment. Democrats have go to stop apologizing every time a Republican gets butthurt over true comments about how odious they are.

  16. Kristy Says:

George#14, She’s not winning. That’s a big part of the problem, and partly because her campaign has its head up its ass about the wrong things.

  17. Collins Says:

Pruitt#15, “Last night I was ‘grossly generalistic,’ and that’s never a good idea. I regret saying ‘half’ — that was wrong,” Clinton said in a statement released Saturday afternoon.

I don’t know that she really walked it back. She said she regretted using the word ‘half.’ She never said she regretted the use of the word ‘deplorable.’

I read between the lines and I took it different than most people would, I suppose. However, if you examine the statement it could be interpreted as she still considers them deplorable, only not just half of them.

  18. Alvin Says:

Welcome back to the world of politics. Oh, how I have missed your political commentary.

  19. Alvin Says:

Keith is a strong voice. He can smack down the Alt Right like very few can do.

You can go back to Breitbart or Storm Front anytime you want. You win’t be missed.

  20. Eric Says:

Good to have Keith Olbermann back on the air. There is nothing good to say about Trump, except leave the Country if he get elected.

  21. Mike Says:

Trump is a liar and spews whatever enters his narcissistic mind.

  22. Duran Says:

A plethora of reasons you shouldn’t allow this. A. its keith olbermann, B. Its Keith Olbermann, C. Its Keith Olbermann, and finally D. Its Keith Olbermann. I mean does anything else need to be said?!!?

  23. Alvin Says:

Duran#22, You have certainly said a whole lot of nothing. Perhaps you could actually say something with meaning and a point to follow it.

There are people who actually have something to say and there are people who just want to say something. You seem to fit nicely into the latter.

  24. Jamie Says:

I honestly don’t know anyone who is a Trump supporter that is not a bigot.

  25. Alice Says:

Keith has the same opinion as I do. If you sit back and defend or ignore people that are racist, bigoted, or just generally exhibit hatred for anyone not like them, you are just as guilty as they are.

When you help someone commit a crime, there is no get out of jail free card, why should someone who covers for a bigot get a free ride. They are as much to blame as the perpetrator.

Actually, there is one situation where the law gives get out of jail free cards. When a cop shoots an unarmed or legally armed civilian. In that case, all the cops that cover for the shooter, prosecutors, judges and the guilty cop get a free ride.

  26. SuzyQ Says:

#25 Alice. Agree! It’s the same with men who look the other way when men abuse women.
