Here’s A Few More Things You Might Not Know About Obama’s Plan

Posted by Michelle Moquin on March 6th, 2009

Turns out there are way more than 10 amazing things in Obama’s budget. Here’s a few more:

  1. Stops unnecessary government subsidies to big banks, health insurance companies and big agribusinesses.13,14,15
  2. Expands access to early childhood education and improves schools by investing in programs that make sure every child has a qualified, strong teacher.16
  3.
  4. Negotiates for better prescription drug prices using Medicaid’s tremendous bargaining power.17

  5. Expands access to family planning for low-income women.18

  6. Caps the pollution that causes global warming, and makes polluters pay to support clean energy innovation.19

If any of you want to discuss any of these from today or yesterday, blog me, and let’s get a discussion going.

Zen Lill:  Great suggestions for the readers. We will talk this weekend – promise. :) You have a groovin’ day too!

Doug:  You are too funny – great come back.

Happy Friday everyone! – Talk soon…

Gratefully your blog host,

  1. Pam Says:

Newly released documents show that the Bush Administration encouraged many of the illegal acts committed over the last 8 years. And while the Obama Administration does not condone their actions, the American people still don’t understand how they were allowed to occur, or how to stop it from happening again.

Senator Leahy and his allies want to know the truth so we can fix the system. But as you would expect, some conservatives are fighting Leahy’s plan. They claim Bush was above the law, and always will be. At the hearing yesterday, former Bush Administration attorney David Rifkin admitted that “some bad things happened” but said that “the conduct of the United States in the last 8 years has been exemplary”.

  2. General Info Says:

Know How to Use Antilock Brakes

    David Solomon
    MotorWatch

People who learned to drive using conventional brakes often use antilock brakes incorrectly, reducing their effectiveness. Key: The rule for using conventional brakes is to pump them during a hard stop to keep them from locking up and causing skidding. But antilock brakes pump themselves automatically multiple times a second, which helps maintain steering control but at the compromise of an increase in stopping distance. Mistake: When you pump antilock brakes, you effectively negate their operation and increase stopping distance even more. To make them work best, apply pressure steadily. Safety: When buying or renting a car with antilock brakes, try them to get a feel for how they work.

  3. Doug Says:

    Pam,
To stop those actions you must write your representative and ask that there be a full investigation and write the UN to prosecute the bastards for war crimes!

  4. Zen Lill Says:

Hi Mischa, oh man…I have been facebooking it all night, pals in Singapore mostly, how cool is this??

I’m am living the life today, facial (a freebie no less) and I’m off to the gym now and later…’letters to congress’ writing – oh and now the UN (thanks for throwing that in the mix, Doug!) and then maybe, maybe I’ll do a little work, ha, not, not today…! Later on, a golden walk on cliffs – it’s totally amazing what the sunlight does at 5PM there, it’s magicical, wish you could join me sometime.

Doug, you’re response to yesterday’s anon was priceless, could not stop laughing, you go, Boy (real man) : )

    Enjoy, Zen Lill
