hahaha…shed the top biagge! That’s what I’d say to her : ) believe it or not there really is a pair of cargo shorts under there. Working on a pic of the face with exposed peepers, need it for a charity event I’m working next week, that’s a challenge for me, the sun makes my eyes water and is too intense for me without my shades.
Mischa, recently someone turned me onto a youtube video about Mike Dooley, recognize that name from The Secret? Well, his website is tut.com and he sends out ‘notes from the universe’ daily to your email, it reminded me very much of your gratitude email’s a few years back, I loved those bc they pointed out traits in myself that I would not have maybe even thought 2x’s about, let alone be thankful for – soooo much gratitude to you, my dear, for being who you are, how you are, and running this blog with such dedication.
On another note, those of you with tweenies and teenies, I’m sure you know there’s much ado about oral sex in middle school, bc ala Bill Clinton, it’s not really sex…my bitch with that is its only males reaping the benefits so I was chatting with a circle of mothers (who are probably suspect of me already, tee hee), they were discussing abstinence with rewards (stay chaste and you get the car whenever you want it kind of bs) and I said (oh, of course I would say something, how could I not?) that all tweenies and teenies are thinking about sex, hormones and summertime are here, why are we asking them to deny deny deny their sexuality, that only leads to lying (to your parents) and guilt (for lying to your parents and indulging in behavior they don’t support) when we can educate them better, first step, self respect and this is a challenge when your child is comparing themselves and what they do and are allowed to do with other kids who may or may not have very evolved parents, then self protection re: sexual health, knowledge is key in making good choices for yourself – and then, let’s give all the boys (and their dang daddies) a copy of the Kuma Sutra, go ahead and laugh but I’ve read it several times, it is not only about sexual activity, it’s about leading an integrated life (and yes, that would include sex, in the KS in many many positions and well, variety is the spice of life, no? You can all skip the chapter on beastiality, it’s weird or maybe it didn’t translate well, hahaha) – listen if the boys are going to get their yaya’s from my girls’ mouth the least they can do is provide her some pleasure also, wouldn’t that be the gentlemanly thing to do? Hmmm…ever feel like you’ve got 2 heads? : ) I did. I don’t want my kid doing the deed before she feels ready (I told her about 18-20 is about when you’ll find someone you might want that with, hahaha, I’ll be lucky if she makes it to 16, she asked me when I lost mine, I told her NYB-notyourbiz) but I sure don’t want her to go through a rite of passage like losing her virginity and having it overshadowed by guilt over anything at all…least of all my disapproval.
Anyway, you all have a lovely day, Luv, Zen Lill

I still can’t get a handle on the fact that Guam is getting the biggest air force any island has ever had. What is who expecting?
________________________________
For the past two years, airmen with the 23rd Bomb Squadron have been training so they`ll be ready on the day they get deployed. Tuesday was the day. Nearly 350 airmen are heading to Guam.
They departed from Minot Air Force Base on Tuesday morning. The men will be taking part in an assurance and deterrence mission, meaning they will assure the regional allies of their commitment to the region and deter the enemy.
“It`s very exciting. This is an important mission, a mission they`ve been traiining for for months,” said Bill Patnaude, Minot Air Force Base.
“I`m ready to do this mission. It`s something we`ve been training for for two years, it`s time to get out the door and do something,” said Stephen Henley, Minot Air Force Base.
They will be deployed for five to six months.

Nice gams,
The Right is trying to lay the spill on Obama. These drillbabydrill clowns are shameless.

Oil is spewing from beneath a British Petroleum oil rig into the Gulf of Mexico at a rate of about 1 million gallons a day. There’s no end in sight — although White House officials have made it clear their goal is to stop the leak before the midterm elections in November.

Obama now spends at least half of every day answering pointed, increasingly aggressive questions about the oil spill, most of them from his daughter Malia.
The president finally went down to take a look at the oil disaster last week –- which is weird because I didn’t even know there were golf courses near the Gulf. To show his concern, Obama is thinking about returning some of the nearly $1 million the oil industry donated to his campaign.
Ha, ha — just kidding. He’s not returning any oil money. But the situation has gotten so urgent that Obama did take time off from his golf game to praise the Phoenix Suns for protesting Arizona’s new immigration law.

The purpose of the General Douglas MacArthur Award is to recognize officers who demonstrate the ideals of duty, honor and country.
Buniag was lauded for his superior leadership abilities and the immense level of commitment he demonstrated while facilitating the rapid rise in equipment, training and personnel readiness as the Company Commander of the 797th Engineer Company, 411th Engineer Battalion, 9th Mission Support Command.

Have you noticed that when the republican states need help they want the federal to come to their aid right away. When the other states need help they scream too much federal interference.
The “Drill Baby Drill” southern states are now scared that it could f**k up their state.

I’m in New Orleans and this mess is going to be another disaster for our people. Oil is going to destroy even more work opportunities for people here.
Our stupid governor is talking out of both sides of his mouth. He didn’t want to take stimulus money but he wants the federal government to spend as much as it can to save the state.
Our Senator is supposed to be smart. She is a woman. But I guess the exception proves the rule in this case.
Yes, New Orleans is going to suffer again.

Certainly not the knockout you have been claiming to be. Your opinion of yourself is much too high. Would not throw you out of the sack, but you are nothing out of the ordinary, nice legs, but again there are millions out there as nice.
You have been very conceited. The hooker across the street puts you to shame.

5-CENT CURE FOR KIDNEY DISEASE
Finally — some great news for the 26 million people with chronic kidney disease!
Because the problem is progressive and incurable, it can seem hopeless, but new research shows that a natural remedy that is safe, effective and costs just a few pennies a day can dramatically slow down kidney decline.
What is it? Baking soda, believe it or not — or, if you want to be technical, sodium bicarbonate.
Though it may well be the most medically important, this is hardly the first unconventional health-related use for this simple and inexpensive kitchen ingredient –
some swear by it as a remedy for acid indigestion, while others use baking soda to brush their teeth or in lieu of antiperspirant or to soothe rashes and skin eruptions.
For people with chronic kidney disease (CKD), however, it is important to take this only under your doctor’s close supervision — read on to learn why.
RATE OF DECLINE SLOWED BY TWO-THIRDS
CKD affects one in nine adults. It runs the gamut from poor function and minor discomfort to end-stage renal disease that requires dialysis (getting hooked up to a machine to filter blood when your kidneys can no longer do so).
The body naturally creates bicarbonate to help maintain the correct acid-alkaline balance (or pH), and insufficient levels can cause problems ranging from minor all the way to death.
A low bicarbonate level (the condition is called metabolic acidosis) affects 30% to 50% of advanced CKD patients, and doctors have long speculated that baking soda might help boost kidney function by bringing up the level.
In a study of 134 people with advanced CKD and low bicarbonate levels, Magdi Yaqoob, MD, a professor of renal medicine at The Royal London Hospital in England and his colleagues put this theory to the test.
They gave half the participants a small daily dose of sodium bicarbonate in tablet form at mealtime while also continuing their regular medical care.
Over a two-year period, investigators discovered that people who took the sodium bicarbonate experienced…
A two-thirds drop in kidney decline. They lost kidney function at the rate of just 1% per year, compared with 3% in those who didn’t take sodium bicarbonate. Though these percentages sound tiny, they are quite significant for people losing kidney function.
A dramatic decrease in the need for dialysis. Only 6.5% in the bicarbonate group required dialysis, compared with 33% in the untreated group.
Better nutrient absorption. Nutritional parameters, including the ability to metabolize protein effectively, improved in those who took bicarbonate tablets. While sodium levels rose, blood pressure did not.
Sodium bicarbonate seems to help people with CKD by suppressing production of ammonia and endothelin (proteins that constrict blood vessels and raise blood pressure), which in turn discourages scarring and dysfunction in the kidneys, Dr. Yaqoob explains.
These findings were published in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (JASN). They require further validation in a larger, multi-center study but are very significant and encouraging, Dr. Yaqoob said.
ASK YOUR DOCTOR
If you have CKD, Dr. Yaqoob recommends asking your doctor about incorporating sodium bicarbonate into your medical care — but stresses this should not be attempted on your own.
Though easily available and very helpful for particular people, sodium bicarbonate is not an innocuous substance. Dosage must be carefully calibrated to keep blood levels within normal limits.
Excess can lead to milk alkali syndrome (calcium deposits in kidneys and other tissue), especially for kidney patients — but also in otherwise healthy people who consume excessive amounts.
That said, sodium bicarbonate may be a simple and inexpensive treatment to add to our medical arsenal against CKD. Talk to your doctor about it.

My brother is a diabetic. There are a lot of companies experimenting with drugs to make a profit. Here is one.
==================================
Shut down the Avandia trial!
The dangers of the diabetes drug Avandia are now out there in the open, where everyone can see them… yet some people still think we need more research on these awful pills.
But let’s not kid ourselves: This is a dangerous drug that needs to be pulled from the market, for good.
A major new Avandia trial is getting under way, and if it’s allowed to unfold, some 16,000 diabetics around the world will be given this drug through 2015.
What’s that saying about the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing, over and over again, and expecting a different result. But don’t expect anything different– because the research on this one is crystal clear and remarkably consistent: A review of 42 studies found that Avandia increases the risk of serious heart problems.
A Congressional report released earlier this year blamed this med for 83,000 heart attacks between 1999 and 2007. This drug has been linked to heart attack, heart failure, chest pain and death… again and again.
Last year, a Canadian study linked Avandia to a 30 percent increased risk of heart failure or death in elderly patients. Yet here we are, ready to begin yet another needless study.
Insanity anyone?
This new trial actually has its roots in 2007, when a landmark study linking Avandia to heart problems had many observers writing this drug’s obituary. But reports of its demise were premature… because instead of pulling the plug, the FDA called for more research.
You know the feds. Never take action when you can waste more time assembling a study, organizing committees, holding meetings and so on.
The amazing thing is that the feds don’t really dispute that it’s dangerous. They even ordered a “black box” warning on the drug due to the risks, and they’re holding a meeting this summer (there they go again!) to go over the latest safety evidence.
Experts and advocacy groups like Public Citizen are calling on the feds to stop the new study now, and there are reports that the trial sites are having a hard time signing people up.
I’d run away too if I heard the word “Avandia!”
But even if they manage to trick enough people into joining this trial, there’s no need to wait for the results– because you have alternatives. Even the other drugs on the market are safer.
Safer… but still unnecessarily risky. They all come with their share of side effects, and any one of them could turn into the next Avandia.
Instead, do as millions of others have done and make the lifestyle changes that can tame your diabetes. That means shutting off your sugar switch and getting a little movement back into your life.
It can be a challenge at first–but it sure beats the challenge of seeing if you can survive the side effects of the latest diabetes drug.
==================================
I hope other people who are aware of companies who make billions on experiential drugs without telling the users of known dangers of their drugs.

Minot B-52′s Touch Down At Andersen

Guam – Guam News
Guam – Thursday afternoon the 23rd Bomb Squadron from North Dakota arrived at Andersen Air Force Base.
Five bombers touched down after flying in from Minot Air Force Base. The bombers can fly nearly nine thousand miles with out refueling.
Andersen Air Force Base Tech-Sergeant Michael Andriacco says close to 350 military personnel also arrived to help support and maintain the B 52′s.
Since 2004, there has been a continuous Bomber presence on Guam. Andriacco says Guam is a strategic part of the Pacific theater and the bomber presence re-assures our regional allies and serves as a deterrence. The 23rd Bomber Squadron will be on Guam for the next five to six months.
=================================
So why do we need such powerful bombers and so many here on little Guam?
Howie are you out there?
