“Just Noticing”: Observations Of A Blogger
Posted by Michelle Moquin on November 28th, 2010
Good morning!
“Just noticing”, I actually have been so self absorbed, and let me add, “lazy” in some areas outside of my normal busy life, that lately everything that I could notice or just notice, I have been noticing, but I haven’t taken the time to consciously remember, let alone, write it down so that I could blog it and share it with you. What can I say? Forgive me. I’ll try to be consciously more observant in the future.
However, the other day, while doing research for my yesterday’s write, I came across some interesting stats etc., that were included in the book “Half The Sky”. Since I am a big proponent on getting the word out when it comes to things that I am passionate about, including the atrocities that women endure every day, I thought it would be opportune to post these observations that I discovered yesterday, in my write today.
“Just Noticing”…
- 100 Million women and girls are missing around the world because of gender discrimination.
- 1 Percent of the world’s landowners are women.
- 130 million women around the world are subjected to genital cutting.
- In the 1800s the central moral challenge was slavery.
- In the 1900s it was the battle against totalitarianism.
- This century the oppression of women worldwide is the Human rights cause of our time.
I’ll end with one of my favorite quotes by the Dalai Lama:
“The future well being of our planet rests in the empowered hands and compassionate hearts of its women.”
Readers: Anything you have been “just noticing”? Or have you too been “lazy”? You’re forgiven. :) Blog me.
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.
Gratefully your blog host,
michelle

I know that I should be answering on the other day. But I have been trying to answer this one since I got up yesterday.
First on the women issue. Men need to be visited by Madaline. There is no other way they will give up their cherished cat-bird seat.
Second my observation today is that some people are born evil and some people will follow the devil for lack of common sense.
Case in point: Limbaugh – he will always find the sick thing to say about something.
Then there are the people who find sense in what he says. Need I say more about lack of common sense.
