Busy morning….

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 14th March 2009

I slept in late…and loved it. I also had an appt. at 9:00 that I just finished up with, and now I need to head to the bank. Life has taken over today, and left me little time to blog. So I am going to check in with all of you later and blog my entry then too.

As always, feel free to continue this chat. I have to say it has been interesting to say the least. I’ll give my two in a few…

2:00 PM

Okay…I’m back. This is not what I thought I was going to talk about but then I read George’s comment from yesterday. It’s obvious that there are many people like George out there. Here’s proof of it: Racism in writing:

Can you believe that someone would actually put this in writing on a receipt?  Making a racist remark as a code to describe a customer? The salesperson should be fired for this, not to mention he/she should be sued. This is just so wrong and hateful. You would think that the manager of this store would’ve seen this before and would’ve put a stop to it. But hey, maybe the manager is a racist pig too.

Readers:  Are any of you familiar with this store? Have any of you shopped there? I am so curious where this is going to go.  Blog me if you have anything further to add.

Peace out….

Gratefully your blog host,

michelle

Get Off Of Yourself And Put Your Attention Somewhere Else

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 11th March 2009

I had a cool night last night. Doug and I volunteered to answer the phones for KQED for one of their annual pledge drives. Doug has done this before for their radio station but we were both newbies for the television show. Doug was especially excited because Chris Botti was the guest. If you have never heard his music, you are missing out. He is a gifted trumpeter with a crooning soulful voice that one can listen to all night. That’s all I’ll say. Maybe I’ll add him to the side link at some point.

Anyway, I have to say it was fun answering the phones. And they were ringing. I’m a big fan of public radio and television, and I am happy that I could give my time back. I didn’t expect to enjoy it that much.  In fact I had so much fun, I wish they did their pledge drives more often. I will definitely do it again.

Have any of you been feeling in a funk lately? It’s hard not to sometimes when there is so much going on in our world. After I got off work yesterday,  I sat in my car chatting with a friend. It had been awhile since we had spoken and I guess I was in a bitchin’ mood.  All sorts of stuff came flying out of my mouth….most of it out of frustration and none of it was really real.  I felt better afterwards. Sometimes one just has to purge all of the shit, and when it is all out there, one can let it go and  get a clearer perspective on how one truly feels. I don’t feel this way often but when I do, I am grateful for the listening ear. Thank you dear friend – you know who you are.

So my point being…when you start to feel that way, do something constructive. I find that when I do something for someone else and take the attention off of myself, the world changes and always looks better. Or perhaps it is me that changes. :) Donating my time is a great way to take the attention off of one self. Last night was perfect timing. Thanks Doug for signing us up.

It seems I missed a few comments from the past two days. My apologies.  Some newbies? Tucker:  I love that name. For some reason I think you’re a girl. Not sure why; I would just love that name for a girl.  You know a kind of ‘Ellie may’ look. So..you sound as if you have some experience dealing with these municipalities? I love your take on it, The law is just a legal club to mug you with.’ Yeah and getting hit over the head is no fun…not to mention the hit in the pocketbook.

Anyway, Jt Justme: Where did you go that you weren’t allowed to bring a computer or Ipod? Was it some kind of retreat? I so want to know. You felt it was the worst time of your life? Hmm…I think it sounds like heaven….not for a long time but a few days..ummm….sounds lovely, take me there.

DNSR!: Good to hear from you again. How are you? Say hello to BNMV :)

And….It also seems that some of the ‘shy’ ones are speaking out – ooohh…how I love that my blog article inspired you! No, ZL…you are not included in that bunch. You are a regular here and would be sorely missed should you go pseudo ‘Jessica’ on me :)

Anyway….Let’s see…ah Yes, Meleea D – what a fab name!  Of course, you have made it clear that I know you, but really I have no idea who you are.  Too many friends have made comments about my blog, and being ‘shy’ or ‘intimidated’, so your animosity (did I say animosity?! Too early for me this morning)…anonymity is safe….All I can say is I am deeelighted that you decided to come and play…who ever you are. :) And thank you for saying such wonderful thing about me and my blog. I still get a bit concerned over whether my blog articles are good enough…good enough for who? I don’t know, but that is just me.  I always want to do better and sometimes….’time expands to meet my needs’ doesn’t always expand to meet my needs. So, what I am really trying to say is, ‘I love the compliments! From old friends and new. Meleea D – welcome – I look forward to your presence here.

Oh, and you and Zen Lill should get together…she’s a speedster too…well so am I but I just don’t get caught!  My eagle eye is always checkin’ the rear.

What else?

Doug…did you send your letters? Readers: Did you like yesterday’s post? I am really hoping that you got involved ’cause I don’t want to hear you bitchin’ later. Now is the time to bitch, and not to us, but to those that can change our healthcare system to something that we can be proud, something that works for EVERYONE, so we don’t have to bitch. Got it?

Gratefully your blog host,

Exterminate? Can You Blame Women For Wanting To?

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 24th February 2009

Not to keep dwelling on the same subject, but hey it’s a good one. I was thinking, as I was reflecting back on all of the comments. And the same question kept coming to mind as to why it is so difficult for some men to get what the women are being so ‘shrill’ about. I don’t know how much clearer we can be….how many examples we need to share, in order to be heard and understood.

It is evident to me that women for a long time have tried to be gentle…that women have tried to reason. Now we are being loud and demanding to be heard and yet, we are still not understood.  We are told we are man-haters, insane, lesbians, racists, sexists….Well…maybe not you, but I certainly have been called all of these. :) And yet I think to myself, ‘What is there not to get?’.  And the same answer comes to my mind each time:

If men, (and for the sake of being clear, I am not addressing all men) understood and admitted that they compensate for what they lack in the pack…if they could see what is driving them to the decisions that they make on a daily basis, they would have to re-evaluate themselves.  It would mean that they would have to change.

Because once a man admits that yes, he does compensate because of a small penis, he would then know that he could not let his small penis influence him anymore.  He would know that he would have to get conscious and be accountable for his actions. He could no longer act and behave as he was used to. He would need to think with the big head instead of the little head. Sound like a challenge….a lot of work? You bet. This behavior is engrained and would take much effort and discipline to overcome.

And that is the main reason why I think men won’t fess up to it. It’s too much work. Men do not want to change. Not to mention the blow to the ego. First, to admit that he has a small dick, and secondly, to admit that his small dick, dictates (no pun intended) his actions.

No, to fess up would be just too much.  It is so much easier to just name call and say that women are crazy for coming up with such an idea. It is so much easier to spew evil and bitterness, than to admit that one is run by his small penis. It is so much easier to carry on as normal, than self analyze, realize, and change.  Change takes too much effort and they don’t want to change.

Still having a hard time and need more proof?

How is this? It is no surprise that scientific studies show that some men who rape, serial kill, and even men who behave aggressively, are prone to having a small penis. Why is this? Because on some unconscious level in their minds they are responding to what they perceive as a social inadequacy. What they perceive…not what women perceive. When these types of perpetrators are discovered, it is also no surprise that the profile is usually a white man. Not that it is 100% all of the time but you can put two and two together and see that these men are compensating for what they feel is an inadequacy.  The same thoughts go through their big heads and depending on the man, some men may be okay with it, compensating very little or none at all…and some men may compensate by behaving badly, by being racist, or worse, by raping and killing.

So that being said, when so many women keep saying the same thing over and over on my blog, and still men don’t get it or want to get it, what does it tell us? Men do not want to admit it….they don’t want to go there.  It would mean that they would seriously have to analyze. And as I mentioned above, realize and change. Ultimately, men do not want to change. Period. And when you look at the advantages that men have in this world…

Do you blame them for not wanting to?

Men think that we are so cruel to even consider wanting to eliminate them.  But if they thought about it for one moment they might come to the conclusion of why we even think this way. Men, (and I will say it again for those touchy men out there…not ALL men)  deprive us of equality, and do everything in their power to maintain the status quo.  We, as women know, that we are not physically capable of forcing men to accept us as equals.  We cannot compete physically, so of course we seek to compete psychologically…with our minds. We have tried the gentle approach… but no matter how gentle we are, or how shrill we become, we can not force them to self evaluate…we can not force them to change.

What other choices do we have than to consider extermination? If we felt that there was another way, believe me, we would take the other route.  But women feel their hands are tied. And when they feel that their hands are tied and there is nothing that they can do to change their situation, the only solution they see is extermination.

Men: Can’t you see that when women start calling on Madaline to exterminate, that they are really telling you that they are at the end of their rope? That they are at their wits’ end? Women are not innately barbaric. You know this, so you must know that they are speaking from a place of desperation. Women are begging desperately for change. And because they see no change happening, because they experience and witness the atrocities, extermination feels like the only solution. And in their minds, coming from the women who have commented on my blog,  it really is. When you look at how women are treated in this world…

Can you blame them for wanting to?

***********

Zen Lill:  Hey there. A bigger ‘girth’ would mean more brains! Just kidding Boys. And kidding aside…women are not only the messengers but the victims as well. It is one thing to be verbally abused by someone just because one is sending a message but it is entirely another thing when the messenger is a victim too.  In this case, women are one of the victims and have good reason to be emotional or shrill. I’ve said it all in my post today. They’ll either get it or they won’t.

Hello Anonz: And I see you succeeding because many have with less.

What you ask of us is nothing compared to what you are going through on a daily basis….nothing compared to what the women and children go through on a daily basis. To ask us to continue to put pressure on our politicians and governments is an easy task with little effort. I will continue through my blog and whatever other means, and I hope that my readers will too. Be safe.

Hi Choe: In my opinion you were right on. I’m sure whatever teeny balls he has left are shriveling up.

Only Checking In….Will Respond More Later Today

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 3rd February 2009

Good morning.

I am having a slumber party with my dear friend Cat at the Hotel Drisco here in San Francisco. I don’t want to be rude and make her wait as I type away on my computer writing my blog so I am going to sign off, head out to breakfast and check back with all of you later.

Hi Sally, Robert, all the Anonymous commentators: Great to hear from all of you. As I said I will check back later.

Hi Liu: My first thought when I read your comment is that this is just one branch in Anonz’s life of many. If he should read this, I trust that he will know what to do in order to avoid this plight that will lead to death. So thank you. At this point in time I will wait and do nothing.

4:14 PM

I have read all of your comments and I have to say that I am quite shocked by many of them.  Oh ye have so little faith in me and the powers that be. Thankfully, I am no longer thin-skinned as I used to be. I listen to my gut and tell my emotion to go take a hike. Maybe some of you should heed my words. I have been an inspiration to many of you….my blog a place where support and compassion is freely given. I ask for nothing back except a little faith….and the moment that I need us girls to stick together you are stabbing me in the back and threatening to shut me out and my blog down….calling me compassionless, unsupportive, jealous,  crazy…..need I go on?  How disappointed I am.  I really thought that we had something going here…but I see we have a ways to go.

You all are siding against me for a guy!! The one time that some guy comes along that you all have the hots for,  you desert me without a glance back. Oh I have supported you time and time again. I have written about the plight of many of you…And now?….Girls we do have a long way to go.

To those that did not question me, I thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt…for supporting me and waiting for me to respond further before harshly judging me.  Although I recognize and appreciate the support, it is not needed.   For I will always continue to be who I am, make the decisions I make, and come to the conclusions that I arrive at by thinking logically and not emotionally.

So…to ease all of you out there: Obviously you did not get it. THIS IS NOT ANONZ’S DESTINY. This is not how he will end his life. This is just another Anonz on a parallel plane, a parallel world, living out a different destiny.  If you don’t know what a parallel plane is, than look it up.

Simple as that. ANONZ WILL NOT DIE ON JULY 23, 2009.  And even it this was his life….let me ask you something: If you knew when and where you were going to die, how would you avoid your death?  Simple….You would avoid being in the area where you would be killed on the day that you knew you were going to die and you would tell death to ‘fuck off’.  So all of you getting so worked up, I think Anonz would be smart enough to come to this same conclusion on his own should he have read my blog.

Peeps: My advice: React with a little less emotion, add a dose of logic, and you’ll save yourself a ton of unnecessary stress.

I’m outta here.

michelle

Sex & The Survival Of Our Species: Part II

Posted by Michelle Moquin on 5th January 2009

Okay…before I even begin to think about what I am going to write about this morning, I owe the Gazan women of Gaza Strip a huge apology for my misleading brain blooper early yesterday morning. I am not perfect nor do I get much of an opportunity to edit myself before I post, especially these days. So pardon me for mis-naming the area where you live, the area where you were commenting from. I am well aware of the location of Gaza Strip…..just got my ‘P’s’ mixed up :) It was simply my mistake of being in such a rush; not from not being informed or knowing my world map. Again, my apologies.

Now that that is handled, I can start my day.

Hi Doug: Your comment inspired me to write more about this subject, and to address a few things that you brought up.  So thank you.

In regards to my article yesterday, when I spoke in terms of sex, I was not speaking of the desire of it. I was speaking strictly of the basic animal instinct to carry on ones species. Sex is ‘the means’ to procreate, whether it is enjoyed or not is irrelevant. Males may not even be aware of how strong their innate need of survival is…but in my opinion, it is the driving motivating factor that makes men behave as they do.  It is an innate drive…pure basic instinct.

However Doug brought up some interesting points. Now, what would happen if women could birth without the help of men, would be something interesting to look at. Would men’s testosterone deplete and the desire to procreate and carry on the species diminish? Would men become less violent?  Definitely something to look at but unfortunately (?) we are not dealing with males lacking in that area.

So I’ll go back to the beginning of man. If plumage didn’t attract the female, it was just one male fighting over another male in order to get the female.  The one who got the female won from pure strength, and maybe with a little skill, luck and possibly a big club involved. :)

However evolution of our species introduced other ways to win over the female should plumage not win out. Unfortunately it was guns and bombs and war that evolved into the picture. Yes, we may think that these men are fighting for land or oil etc., but in my opinion, if you get right down to the basic instinct of survival, the men are trying to enhance their plumage. Why? To get the females so that they can procreate and survive. And the only way to procreate is by having sex. And the only way a male is going to get sex is to have better plumage and be more attractive to the female, than the other males who are also trying to pump up their plumage to attract her.  War is one way to pump up your plumage and more importantly, a way to rid of the weaker males.

So what if a male’s plumage doesn’t cut it…AND he is weak? There is one other thing that weaker males can count on: They have the ability to physically control the females and basically enslave them…consider them property.

And how do they do this?  Hmm….let’s think of a way.  Oh I know….we’ll make up a religion and a God that tells us that our females are our property and we have total control over what they do, think, and say.  We’ll even have the rights over their bodies. “No one can blame us because God is telling us it is okay. My God tells me that I can have as many wives as I please. My God tells me that women can not be trusted. My God tells me that abortion is wrong. My God tells me that women are not equal to men.”  It is written. It is the law. ((Written by men but just disregard that small detail.) “That way, if we don’t win the war we know we at least have religion to put our females in their place.  They will have no way to leave us now – they belong to us lock, stock, and barrel.”

Hence, men will do anything and everything they can to have control so that their race will survive regardless of whether their plumage is attractive or not.

Do you see what I mean by shedding all of the layers…all of the excuses that males come up with?  When you get down to the basic instinct everything else is  extraneous. It is pure and basic animal instinct whether the males are cognizant of this deep and primal drive that motivates them to do the things they do.

When you look at the ‘reasons’ the ‘excuses’ it all seems so illogical.  But when you take away all of  the ‘reasons’ the ‘excuses’, it is very logical. Not right, but logical.  Males are fighting for their survival.  ‘My plumage is better than your plumage, and if you don’t believe me I’ll kill, destroy, and enslave the females to prove just how strong I really am. Don’t men know that resorting to controlling their women is a sign of weakness not strength?

Unfortunately this animal instinct that drives the males to do the things they do, is very shortsighted.  So shortsighted that we are in dire danger of destroying our planet all in the name of ‘survival’. ZL asks some good questions too – Why aren’t women revered for giving the gift of life? Marsha says it well:  ”Men, hypocrisy. They need to stand firm against these men who have no compassion for their own females. The mothers of their children, Their own mothers.”

Uh…here’s an obvious wake up call: Without the preservation of our planet, animals, and women, there is no ‘survival’ of the species.

War always has casualties. Civilians, unfortunately get hurt and killed. But when innocent civilians are targeted and used as human shields, as we are seeing in Israel and Gaza, we have reached a different level of war. A different level of the innate need to survive. What is next?

“Man’s deep-rooted instinct to survive, and the means that he has chosen, will be to his demise.”

I guess that I had much more to say on this subject than I thought. This is not saying that I hate men….so you men out there don’t even go there.  What I despise is the choices that men are making.  I am just trying to understand them and make sense out of things that don’t make sense to me at all….until I break it all down.

Readers: Of course, this is just my opinion but I would certainly enjoy hearing yours if you have more to say on the subject. Agree? Disagree? Or something in-between? Blog me.
