Good morning!

“Just Noticing…”

…I have not connected with any of my readers in days. So here is goes…

Ruth: Love your piece. And so delighted that we have connected again. Thank you for the words of advice. I’m working on it.

Peter: Never feel you are monopolizing my blog. If it is a good vehicle for you to get the word out to your fellow Chamorros, and helps protect your beloved Guam, I am all for it. Hafa Adai.

Carl: An interesting thought, but unfortunately I don’t think it is a low IQ that killed Trayvon.

Ceci: In my opinion, killing almost always affects the lives of others. I realize that you are not a part of what your brother does, but if you are doing nothing that is the part that you belong to: the one third that does nothing. But it doesn’t have to be that way – perhaps you want to do something but are just afraid of him, so you feel powerless to stop him. If he won’t listen then move on and make your voice heard some other way. There are plenty of ways to get involved. You have first hand experience through your brother of how heinous racists can be, and I can see that you are bothered by it. I encourage you to not be the one third that does nothing and do something.

Carla: Aka: a woman a Michelle’s blog – love that. Thank you. I so enjoy it when I read that this blog has changed peoples’ lives. It certainly has changed mine. And it still amazes me how many people learn about America through this blog. I am excited that you are moving your first visit to America to the Bay Area. You will love it – there is nothing like it. And you never know…(Not sure about the “signs” – although I would trip out seeing something like that) perhaps we will run into each other on the street. How cool would that be. Please do stop me and say hello if that happens.

Stacy: Hmm…It touched my heart too. Happy you liked it.

Xhevahire: Your comment was bittersweet. It saddened me to think that and know that women on this planet do not feel important. And yet it brings me joy to know that my blog helped you feel that women can be important too. We definitely are and so are you.

Zen Lill: Awhh…how is that ol’ Elke doing? Give her a pat on the head for me. Lucy has been depressed in this rainy weather. She’s such a summer girl like her mamma.

So..Stu: How about saying just that to dear ol’ dad and mom in the form of a “complaint sandwich“?

Janet: Smart girl.

Nawzad: You’re very welcome. I HOPE you and yours are good.

Readers: That’s a good HOPE for all of us and a perfect exit for me. No topic for today. I’ll leave it up to all of you to decide what conversations you want to come to life. Blog me.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

Good morning!

“Just noticing…”

…one can only imagine what other racial hatred OTW’s must go through on a daily basis, when this is what is said about the president of the United States, Barack Obama:

Racist Anti-Obama Sticker Makes Rounds On Facebook

Renig Bumper Sticker

A photograph of a bumper sticker that features racist, anti-Obama language has gone viral on Facebook and other social networks.

The sticker reads “Don’t Re-Nig In 2012,” in large white type, above smaller text that reads: “Stop repeat offenders. Don’t re-elect Obama!”

The offensive design appears to have originated at a site called Stumpy’s Stickers, where it can be purchased. The site sells variations on the same idea, including another “Don’t Re-Nig” design featuring a caricature of a black man’s face with a missing tooth, a picture of a chimp that reads “Obama 2012,” and another with a drawing of several Ku Klux Klan members that reads “The Original Boys In The Hood.”

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. *s*i*c*k*o*

Readers: “Stumpy’s Stickers” – Gee, the name says it all doesn’t it? And no doubt the guy drives around in a huge truck pushing his sick stickers to make up for his lack-in-the-sack, stump-of-a-dick. This is truly disgusting behavior.

Lisa: I didn’t post it and I don’t recall seeing it, but I’m glad you posted it. I like it.

Social Butterfly: I agree with you – f’g hilarious!

Lucy: I don’t get it either but take a look around – they are all around us.  Some are even your friends. I know some are probably mine. And some blog here. Did you seed Jenna’s post #18? More importantly read Alycedale’s comment to her? Love a logical thinking mind.

Anonymous: Love the play on words. I just wish it were words that were being played with.

Roger: Yes, proud to be a slut and loving it. Funny how men always want to get in our pants and then call us a slut when they do.

That’s a perfect place for me to end today. Your turn – Blog me.

“Just Noticing”: Observations Of A Blogger

Good morning!

“Just noticing…”

So..I’ve heard through the grapevine from some of you readers who have e-mailed me, that my blog is being touted as not only a women’s blog, but a male bashing blog as well. And my readers are just noticing that the white male seem to receive the most bashing.

Then yesterday Clark commented saying “Michelle’s blog is highly controversial. She is clearly anti male”.

This is my response:

Well…not doubt my blog is highly controversial. I will give you that. And it is a women’s blog. But I will add that evidently you Wayne, aka “Clark“,  and many other boys need to grow up…or no more pussy for you for awhile. (That’s a thumbs-up to you Debra.)

I am clearly anti-male? I think you’re lacking in the brain department or just in denial of what goes on in this world. You must be a while male with all the privileges that the color of your skin and the things between your legs gives you. So I guess for the dimwitted, I have to say it again. “No. I love men. I just hate what men do.” Do ya get it? It is your actions that piss me and other women off. Not that fact that you have a dick and balls between your legs. Although on a side note, some of you are definitely lacking “the cymbals” that accompany  that “stick”.

So, yes…no doubt there is some male bashing that takes place here. And sometimes there is plenty. And yes, white males seem to get the most. That being said, I just want you to know that I drop the hammer where the nail is. If it doesn’t need fixing it won’t be talked about around here. If the males fix their behavior, I won’t have to nail them to the wall. It’s really that simple. What am I supposed to do, act like it is not happening? Bad behavior and horrific acts of violence are happening every day all over the world. Like I have said before, if you don’t want to be bashed, stop doing atrocious acts of physical bashing that lead to a verbal bashing here.

The men are the one’s in control here, and really it is the white males.  Ever since the days of our founding fathers, who created the illusion of equality for all the other people. But that’s all it was; an illusion. Equality was only promised to white males.

So where does that leave our women? Exactly where we are, and in many places it isn’t a pretty place to be. So, you can see where the hammer needs to fall. So, I’ll say it again, until it gets through those thick self-absorbed, uncaring, male brains out there: If you don’t want to be bashed, stop doing atrocious acts of physical bashing that lead to a verbal bashing here.

Done. So…wha’at’s up?

Social Butterfly: I too wish I could’ve joined you! I love the “The Vagina Monologues”. Awhile ago I blogged about Eve Ensler and her City of Joy. So cool what she is doing for women and girls. Thanks too for the link. I will check it out. HOPE you are doing good.

Howie:  Yeah.. well you took those words out of my mouth. It pisses me off as well that no one seems to honor my copyright clause. It’s all about the money – people who don’t have a creative bone in their body get greedy. They have nothing to offer in talent, so they steal and use other peoples’ stories whether they feel they are true or not, so they can boost their own ego and come out looking great with a fat check to back it up. Believe me their day will come.

Oh, by the way, if I’m not mistaken I do believe it is your birthday today, yes? HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOWIE! I HOPE your day is grand and you have fun doing whatever makes you happy!

Anonymous: Love it. Thank you so much for sharing! I so look forward to seeing “Miss Representation”, and spreading the word. I am delighted to post the trailer:

Newest Miss Representation Trailer (2011 Sundance Film Festival Official Selection) from Miss Representation on Vimeo.

Jack: Oh…so you’re one of those…who likes to point out the horrific things a woman does, when men do the same and worse a thousand times more than women. The bad things that women do in this world are a drop in the bucket compared to men. And my guess is, and I don’t have stats on this, but I don’t doubt that in the cases of women that kill, it is because they’ve been abused so badly by their men.

Faustine: Me too.  Thanks for the kudos.

Now I’m really done. Your turn. Blog me.

Peace out.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. Good morning!

Okay…so what is cute, furry and wonderful to cuddle with? If you guessed “A puppy!”  You are soo right. However…

“Just noticing”…

...does this little guy remind you of something else you love to cuddle up to?

Everyone loves a puppy. Especially a Golden Retriever puppy.

So much fluff! So much goofiness!

But one Redditor noticed that this puppy looked a little, shall we say different, from above.

Is the humor immature? Sure. But according to The Daily What the Tumblr post containing the photo got over 100,000 notes overnight, so it just goes to show how sometimes all it takes is a little potty humor to get the Internet giggling.

*T*O*O*C*U*T*E*

Readers: I can’t think of two better things that I love combined into one. :) Just bringin’ a little humor to this beautiful Sunday.

Speaking of humor,  I see all of you are chatting about Romney and Sheriff Paul Babeu –  The republican party is such a joke – can anyone be more hypocritical? Once again, why would anyone vote for this party?

I’m steppin’ out of this one – Let the sweet boys fight it out.

Blog me.

xoxo

“Just Noticing”: Observations Of A Blogger

Good morning!

“Just noticing…”

…The republicans are aways claiming that Reagan didn’t raise taxes; he actually did it more than any other president during a recession.

I pulled a section from the article below found on the Huff Po:

The site quoted the Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman, noting that “no peacetime president has raised taxes so much on so many people.”

The Washington Monthly’s Steve Benen pitched in with his observation that the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982, which was Reagan’s biggest tax hike, is today “generally considered the largest tax increase — as a percentage of the economy — in modern American history.”

Moreover, says Benen, “between 1982 and 1984, Reagan raised taxes four times, and as Bruce Bartlett has explained more than once, Reagan raised taxes 12 times during his eight years in office.”

Here’s the entire article that I think you’ll enjoy. An unimaginable incident takes place during another LSOS speaking out on 60 Minutes.

Think Again: Conservatives Prefer Reagan Fantasies to Reality (And So Did Reagan)

A bizarre incident took place during the 60 Minutesinterview with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) on New Year’s Day: When Leslie Stahl asked Rep. Cantor whether he would be willing to compromise with President Barack Obama to improve the legislative performance of the current Congress, Rep. Cantor responded: “Compromising principles, you don’t want to ask anybody to do that. That’s who they are as their core being.”

When Stahl replied that President Ronald Reagan, Rep. Cantor’s “idol,” had compromised, Rep. Cantor stuck to his guns, replying, “He never compromised his principles.”

Stahl, at the ready, answered, “Well, he raised taxes and it was one of his principles not to raise taxes.”

Rep. Cantor, slightly flummoxed, came back with “Well, he — he also cut taxes.”

And here things got interesting.

Rep. Cantor’s press secretary, Brad Dayspring, began yelling from off screen, “That’s not true. And I don’t want to let that stand.”

Stahl, in a taped voice-over, later added in the mildest language imaginable, and without any personal aspersions cast — “There seemed to be some difficulty accepting the fact that even though Ronald Reagan cut taxes, he also pushed through several tax increases, including one in 1982 during a recession.”

President Reagan’s voice was then heard to say, “Make no mistake about it, this whole package is a compromise,” followed by Rep. Cantor, doubling down, “We as Republicans are not going to support tax increases.”

The interview has generated a great deal of attention in the blogosphere. ThinkProgress jumped on it immediately, noting that President Reagan did not “compromise” just this once, but actually increased taxes “in seven of his eight years in office, including one stretch of four tax increases in just two years.”

The site quoted the Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman, noting that “no peacetime president has raised taxes so much on so many people.”

The Washington Monthly‘s Steve Benen pitched in with his observation that the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982, which was Reagan’s biggest tax hike, is today “generally considered the largest tax increase — as a percentage of the economy — in modern American history.”

Moreover, says Benen, “between 1982 and 1984, Reagan raised taxes four times, and as Bruce Bartlett has explained more than once, Reagan raised taxes 12 times during his eight years in office.”

Benen believes that President Reagan’s legacy makes contemporary conservatives “look ridiculous.”

On MSNBC’s The Ed ShowWashington Post columnist Ezra Klein took a stab at explaining why this must be the case, noting that the grand poobah behind the “Reagan Legacy Project,” and so much right-wing political thinking and organizing today, is Grover Norquist, who “has a vested interest in promoting the myth of ‘Saint Ronnie the Tax Slayer’ to justify his ‘no new taxes ever’ ideology.”

This is true, but it misses what is really strangest about this incident.

It is actually unheard of for a press secretary to attempt anything like Dayspring’s interruption, especially in so high profile a forum as 60 Minutes and with a boss in as influential a position as Rep. Cantor. (It is especially crazy to do so in one in which the editing process allows the correspondent to have the last word.) To do so with a bald (and easily demonstrable) falsehood would be under almost any imaginable circumstances a firing offense, as it makes both men, politician and aide alike, appear uninformed, incompetent, and generally out to lunch.

Rep. Cantor’s office did attempt to “clarify” Mr. Dayspring’s outburst, insisting that it “referred to the cumulative effect of President Reagan’s various tax increases and cuts, when added together.”

Again, this is not the point. President Obama has lowered taxes more than he has raised them, and they are today lower than they were in President Reagan’s time. But you don’t hear conservatives crowing about that.

No, the real story here is the vehemence of the conservative movement’s commitment to ignoring all forms of evidence that it finds inconsistent with its ideological preconceptions, regardless of circumstances or even consequences.

Ironically, tendency to ignore inconvenient facts and unwelcome evidence is actually President Reagan’s true legacy, as I noted in The Nation back in 2000, before the current right-wing mania for President Reagan gained its full force.

*L*S*O*S*

Readers: This article tells the facts – an inconvenient truth that the republicans just don’t want to admit. This fits right in with the LSOS Club. And I think Rep. Eric Cantor qualifies to be a member – don’t you? For those of you Newbies just joining us today for the first time, LSOS means “Lying Sacks Of Shits“. Oooh I just love saying that.

Kraig: Done. Your mother Dorrie is now a member of the LSOS Club.

Norma: You’re welcome. Kelly is now a member as well.

Zen Lill: All is better than well, thank you. I HOPE you are too. I am having a very social weekend…and it is a very beautiful weekend. Out early and back late today. Give a call when it works for you in the coming weeks.

TK: I agree. But Newt was not factually correct nor politically correct. He was being racist.

UG: I smiled at what your young daughter said, and loved what you said.

Robert, RT: You articulate so well that even the hard to grasp would understand. Thanks for being here. FYI: I would enjoy hearing you speak live sometime.

RJ: You and me both. I was just having that exact conversation at a party last night. And when it comes to the republican party you can include women and OTW’s as well.

Junko: I don’t know if Ym is an alien or not, but his feelings towards women, or a least his lady love, seem rare to me. And if his actions meet those delicious words, he expresses…well then, he is truly a one of a kind. Not to say, that there are not men out there that do or could feel that way. Perhaps they have just not found a woman that they love so much that inspire the words of Ym: “She brings out what comes out in me. I just experience it.”

Anyway, thank you for the kind words. I don’t know if I inspire the exact devotion that Ym’s lady love does, but I do know that love and devotion show up in many different and special ways, and I certainly experience them with my love.

I wish you luck in finding your Ym. Hmmm…I have to smile….”Finding your Ym…” – that could be a little blog insider for the girls here. “Have you found your YM?” :) If you are ever in SF, I would love to meet you…and who knows…perhaps you will find your Ym here.

I’ll end it with love, and leave all of you wishing you a wonderful Sunday. The forum is now open. Blog me.

Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers.
