“Just Noticing”: Observations Of A Blogger
Posted by Michelle Moquin on February 19th, 2012
Good morning!
Okay…so what is cute, furry and wonderful to cuddle with? If you guessed “A puppy!” You are soo right. However…
“Just noticing”…
...does this little guy remind you of something else you love to cuddle up to?
Everyone loves a puppy. Especially a Golden Retriever puppy.
So much fluff! So much goofiness!
But one Redditor noticed that this puppy looked a little, shall we say different, from above.
Is the humor immature? Sure. But according to The Daily What the Tumblr post containing the photo got over 100,000 notes overnight, so it just goes to show how sometimes all it takes is a little potty humor to get the Internet giggling.
*T*O*O*C*U*T*E*
Readers: I can’t think of two better things that I love combined into one. :) Just bringin’ a little humor to this beautiful Sunday.
Speaking of humor, I see all of you are chatting about Romney and Sheriff Paul Babeu – The republican party is such a joke – can anyone be more hypocritical? Once again, why would anyone vote for this party?
I’m steppin’ out of this one – Let the sweet boys fight it out.
Blog me.
xoxo
Lastly, greed over a great story is surfacing from my “loyal”(?) readers. With all this back and forth about who owns what, that appears on my blog, let me reiterate that all material posted on my blog becomes the sole property of my blog. If you want to reserve any proprietary rights don’t post it to my blog. I will prominently display this caveat on my blog from now on to remind those who may have forgotten this notice.

The “sweet boys” are white and running over each other to get into the republican party.
Seriously, that dumbest creature on the planet has to be re-examined. It has to go to the american gay white boy. It’s like supporting Hitler knowing that if he discovers that you are gay, into the ovens you go.
What-in-the-fuck could be dumber than that? Yet, time, and time again, another gay in the closet is outed in the republican party.
Can’t those fools learn to suck democratic dick? Or are there just so many more opportunities in the republican party, because they hate women so much.
The party is full of vile hatred of gays from gays in the closet married republicans.
Rick Santorum – GAY – no doubt, is the pope a pedophile.
Between the rump rustlers and gay bashing gays in the republican party the common denominator is hypocrisy.

5 Cups of Coffee a Day Can Be Good for You!
It lowers blood pressure, prevents diabetes and may even fight skin cancer.
Even coffee drinkers find it hard to believe that their favorite pick-me-up is healthful, but it seems to be true. People who drink coffee regularly are less likely to have a stroke or get diabetes or Parkinson’s disease than those who don’t drink it.
There’s even some evidence that coffee can help prevent cancer, although the link between coffee and various cancers is preliminary and still being investigated.
POLYPHENOLS AND MORE
Coffee contains hundreds of antioxidants and other bioactive compounds, including some of the same polyphenols that are found in fruits, vegetables, wine and green tea. Polyphenols are potent antioxidants that inhibit inflammation as well as cell damage.
Both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffees contain antioxidants. However, some of the health benefits occur only with regular coffee. This suggests that caffeine also plays a role.
More coffee might be better for disease prevention. For example, coffee has a dose-response relationship with diabetes.
People who drink five cups a day seem to benefit more than those who drink three cups…and two or three cups a day might be better than just one cup.
But not everyone is better off with more. Some people get jittery with too much coffee, and it can cause other problems, such as stomach upset and bladder irritation.
LOWER DIABETES RISK
More than 20 studies have found that coffee drinkers are less likely to get diabetes than those who don’t drink coffee.
When we analyzed the data from nine previous studies, which included a total of more than 193,000 people, we found that those who drank more than six or seven cups of coffee daily were 35% less likely to have type 2 diabetes (the most common form) than those who drank two cups or less.
Those who consumed four to six cups daily had a 28% lower risk for diabetes.
Some of the studies were conducted in Europe, where people who drink a lot of coffee—up to 10 cups daily—are the ones least likely to have diabetes.
Both decaf and regular coffee seem to be protective against diabetes. This suggests that the antioxidants in coffee —not the caffeine—are the active agents.
It’s possible that these compounds protect insulin-producing cells in the pancreas. The minerals in coffee, such as chromium and magnesium, have been shown to improve insulin sensitivity.
HEALTHIER BRAIN
It’s not a coincidence that coffee is the beverage of choice at the workplace. People who drink coffee have short-term improvements in memory and other cognitive functions.
Coffee also seems to improve long-term brain health. Example: Coffee drinkers are at least 30% less likely to get Parkinson’s disease than people who don’t drink coffee.
Parkinson’s disease is characterized by a lack of dopamine in the brain.
Some researchers believe that coffee also can help reduce the risk for Alzheimer’s disease. One study, which followed 1,400 participants for about 20 years, found that regular coffee consumption (three to five cups daily) reduced the risk for Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia by 65%, compared with those who drank little or no coffee.
You will get the brain benefits only if you drink regular coffee—decaf doesn’t have the same effects. It’s possible that caffeine contributes to the benefits.
BETTER BLOOD PRESSURE
Caffeinated coffee raises blood pressure temporarily, but people who drink it regularly have no increased risk for high blood pressure.
There is emerging evidence that coffee drinkers have a lower risk for stroke and other cardiovascular diseases.
Example: Data from the long-running Nurses’ Health Study found that women who drank four or more cups of coffee a day had about a 20% lower risk for stroke than those who drank little or no coffee.
Other studies indicate that coffee may reduce the risk for heart disease, possibly by reducing arterial inflammation that can lead to atherosclerosis and blood clots. However, the evidence is not conclusive.
LESS CANCER
It’s not a substitute for sunscreen, but drinking coffee could protect you from the most common type of skin cancer.
In a new report presented at the American Association of Cancer Research meeting in Boston, researchers found that coffee drinkers were less likely to develop basal-cell carcinoma than noncoffee drinkers.
In the study, researchers followed more than 112,000 people for up to 24 years. During this time, they tracked the incidence of basal-cell carcinomas and other skin cancers.
Men who drank the most coffee had a 13% lower risk for basal-cell carcinomas than those who drank the least…in women, the risk was 18% lower.
Decaffeinated coffee didn’t provide the same protection, so it appears that caffeine is responsible—but the reason isn’t known.
Coffee reduced the risk for only this one type of skin cancer. Other skin cancers, such as melanoma and squamous-cell carcinoma, weren’t affected.
Because this is the first large study to find this effect, it will have to be repeated—by different researchers and with different groups of people—to confirm that coffee does, in fact, protect the skin.
Caffeine may protect against other cancers as well. New finding: Women who drink four or more cups a day of caffeinated coffee reduced their risk for endometrial cancer by 30%. And drinking two or more cups of decaffeinated coffee reduced risk by about 22%.
PROMISING, BUT NOT PROVED
It’s important to remember that the majority of research about coffee is observational.
Researchers interview large numbers of people…ask them about their coffee consumption and other habits…look at their health status…and then make conclusions about what caused what.
Unlike double-blind, randomized clinical trials, which are considered the gold standard of scientific research, observational studies cannot prove cause and effect, but they do offer evidence.
CAUTION
Some caveats about coffee…
Moderation matters. Some people get the jitters or have insomnia when they drink coffee. In rare cases, the caffeine causes a dramatic rise in blood pressure.
It’s fine for most people to have three, four or five cups of coffee a day—or even more. But pay attention to how you feel. If you get jittery or anxious when you drink a certain amount, cut back. Or drink decaf some of the time.
Hold the milk and sugar. Some of the coffee “beverages” at Starbucks and other coffee shops have more calories than a sweet dessert. Coffee may be good for you, but limit the add-ons.
Use a paper filter. Boiled coffee, coffee made with a French press or coffee that drips through a metal filter has high levels of oils that can significantly raise levels of LDL, the dangerous form of cholesterol.
Better: A drip machine that uses a paper filter. It traps the oils and eliminates this risk.

it IS time to get rid of this mindset!
An adviser to President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign says GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum went “well over the line” when he questioned Obama’s Christian values.
Robert Gibbs tells ABC’s “This Week” that it’s time “to get rid of this mindset in our politics that, if we disagree, we have to question character and faith.”
Gibbs says the country would be better served if presidential candidates focused instead on the economic challenges faced by the middle class.
Santorum said on Saturday that Obama’s agenda is tied to “some phony theology” not based on the Bible.

Tony Hansberry II is a fine example of what a young mind can accomplish given he/she has the drive and inspiration. He is also a young blackman, who besides being a credit to his race, had other obstacles to overcome.
Today’s republican politicians would like to spend less on educating, building decent schools, and paying teachers an attractive wage. In essence “dumbing down” our nations most valuable asset, it’s youth. They are looking for the fast buck and quick return on their investments.
Young Tony did not let this fact hinder his drive to achieve his astounding accomplishment, a gift to the medical world that is sure to save many lives. I am sure this is but the first of many amazing accomplishments to come from this young man.
I believe that given the opportunity and proper education, that many OTW’s and white kids too, could accomplish so much more.
Greed and selfishness are cheating the youth of America of their futures, and cheating the nation of the accomplishments that only a bright, young and driven young mind can achieve. We need invest in these young minds for the good of this nation and for the good of mankind.
My hat goes off to Tony Hansberry II.

The republicans are congratulating themselves on a successful feat. They have managed to give their cronies in the energy industry the excuse to raise gas prices to extraordinary high levels.
The intention is to have gas at $5.00 a gallon by election time. They want to make it a major issue in the election. Be poised to see all your energy cost shoot up.
The politicians have made deals with the Iranians similar to the ones Reagan made with them to keep the hostages until after the election.
This time the deal was for Iran to stop selling oil to Britain and Japan. The want to force those two nations to enter the other markets thereby driving up the cost because of the increased demand on those markets.
The Bush family has told the Saudis that if they hold their production to present levels or reduce them they will guarantee to support the royal family if their kingdom is threatened by civil unrest like the events occurring in the rest of the Middle East.
The energy industry is licking it lips at the potential profit possibilities. It is going to get very expensive to buy almost everything in America in a few months, if the republicans have their way.
Businesses will be forced to cut back on hiring and costs for everything requiring transportation will go up to cover the cost of delivery to and from the wholesale, and retail sites.

Hi Mischa, I have a stuffed toy just like that dog : D hahaha…
Al, your response is precious.
Janet, I’m glad you enjoy the regulars, though I haven’t been this week.
Scott, thank you and this week was very busy and time got away from me, I’ll be more tuned in this week, I hope. Maybe I’ll just go in and delete all my emails and then if they resend I’ll know the business at hand is serious, that’s one way to get out of hours of dumb email answers : )
Hi Anonz, good news as usual (not), just wish it wasn’t so accurate – all the time. Hope you’re well and staying out of trouble.

Do you see the differences? This tells us something. There is much information in reading between the lines. In this case, there are no lines. So, one must think about what that means…

one more…
I am amazed at the GOP’s platform that the government should not be involved in Education, but they should be involved in every woman’s vagina. As George Carlin put it “If you’re Preborn, you’re fine, if your Preschool, you’re fucked…

Two very simple answers why fuel costs are skyrocketing, political power and unbridled corporate greed, they’ve been working in tandem for years…..……….……under the words and terms that begin with the free…………….…..

When Bush was in office conservatives fell over themselves to defend the President. They said the President had no power over the cost of gasoline... Now here we are and they blame Obama… Why the change in tune?
Its because nothing about you is legitimate… You just want to find a way to attack the President.
You say you believe in free market… Well there is plenty of gasoline, there is no shortage, there is literally tons of it… Should we tell the gas companies what they can sell their product for? Should we mandate they pay what we want to pay ?
This is your free market guys… Now you don’t like it?

What inspires terrorists?
If bin Laden himself could talk, he wouldn’t hesitate to answer: the Koran, which he repeatedly pointed to as his motivation and authority. Many policy decisions by Western governments are predicated on the assumption that the Koran teaches peace, and that Muslims who commit violence are perverting the teachings of their own holy book.
But is this true — or just wishful thinking born of ignorance and political correctness? Now, in The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran, Robert Spencer, whose column appears weekly in Human Events, proves that the Koran is just about the opposite of a “book of peace.”
The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran reveals:
Infidels: why Allah hates them, and what he has in store for them — straight from the Koran.
The passages of the Koran that mandate warfare against unbelievers: Why in traditional Islam these words take precedence over more peaceful passages.
Telling signs that the Koran was not delivered from heaven in pristine form, as Muslims believe, but was compiled from Jewish, Christian, and pagan sources.
Koranic Jew-hatred: proof that Islamic anti-Semitism is not an import from Christianity, as many have claimed.
The disquieting truth behind Islam’s professed respect for other religions and their central figures.
The alarming teachings of the Koran on women: how it reduces women to the status of commodities.
The worst sin of all for Muslims: It’s worse than murder, worse than rape, worse than genocide — and guess what? You’re probably committing it.
The Muslim claim that the Koranic text was never altered — is false, and why this matters.
Barack Obama’s June 2009 speech to the Islamic world: an object lesson in the hazards of not understanding the Koran.
And now, for a limited time, we at Human Events are making The Complete Infidel’s Guide to the Koran available to you absolutely FREE — just for trying us at zero risk.
After all, Human Events is the news source President Reagan himself called his “favorite newspaper”… and which still holds high the Reaganesque principles of free enterprise, limited government, strong national defense, and individual freedom.
It’s the periodical that the peerless Ann Coulter, our legal affairs correspondent and a key participant in our weekly editorial meetings, proudly considers her editorial “home” — and where you can read her trenchant, biting satirical columns.
Says Ann: “Not only do I write a weekly column for Human Events, I devour it from cover to cover. Why? Because it’s the one newspaper I can count on to bring me the absolute, unvarnished, hard-hitting truth. And so should you.”
Human Events is written and edited by gutsy people who will rescue you from the sticky tar pit of political correctness that passes for contemporary reporting… not girlie-boy editors afraid of sticking to their guns!
That means by reading Human Events, you can count on learning the news the liberal media try so hard to keep secret!
For example…
In a recent issue of Human Events we reported on those “thousands of acres” Obama speaks of as ready for oil drilling in U.S. waters… virtually none have been found to have any oil! In other words, Obama has no intention of opening new drilling anywhere in the U.S. — no matter how high the price of gasoline soars!
Human Events also reported that Obama’s “economic stimulus” was simply a gargantuan gift to the states — to make sure pampered government workers did not share the same painful fate as private-sector workers who lost jobs by the millions.
Human Events revealed that ObamaCare is so brilliant and so wonderful that trade unions and companies friendly to the president are fleeing it by the thousands. In fact, Obama’s health care plan is so desirable that 20% of the exemptions have gone to Nancy Pelosi’s posh district in San Francisco!
There’s so much at stake today. America is facing its biggest financial crisis of modern times and liberals just don’t get it. Never has it been more important for you to get the truth — and not just the P.C. pabulum dished up by the mainstream media.
And now you can try Human Events with this special introductory offer — a full 30-week trial subscription at the reduced rate of just $39.95, just over a dollar an issue. That’s a savings of 54% off the regular rate.
